Sena (00:00):
If you're listening to
this podcast.
Then the means that I have withmany things, including myself.
And decided to take a leap offaith.
(00:52):
Hey friend and welcome to myfirst ever podcast episode.
I wanted to take a moment tointroduce myself and give you an
overview of what our timetogether is going to look like.
By the end of this episode.
You'll have a betterunderstanding of who I am.
Why you should even botherlistening to me.
(01:14):
And what you can expect from meover the lifetime of this
podcast.
As you may have already heard myname is Sena.
And I'm a 23 year old who lovesall things, purpose and
excellence.
For as long as I can remember.
I have always been passionateabout personal development.
(01:34):
I just didn't know the phrasefor it.
In fact, the people closest tome with tell you that Sena is
always thinking about her life.
I am one person who isconstantly seeking to do better
tomorrow than I did today.
So it truly is no surprise thatI decided to include the word
thriving in my podcast name.
(01:56):
But that's a story for anotherday.
Today, we, are, talking abouthow to find what you're
passionate about.
But, first, what exactly ispassion?
I like to think of passion as anintense enthusiasm and interest
in something that fuels youractions and brings you immense
(02:18):
joy.
Passion is something that goesbeyond mere hobbies or
interests.
It is the driving force thatlights a fire within you.
When you're passionate aboutsomething, it drives your
actions and brings a sense offulfillment and purpose to your
life.
Now you're probably saying toyourself right now.
(02:40):
Sena.
Why should I even care aboutfinding what I'm passionate
about?
Well, here are a few reasons whypassion is important to live in
a fulfilling life.
First and foremost.
Passion brings joy.
When you engage in activities orpursue interests that you are
(03:02):
passionate about it naturallygenerates a sense of happiness
and satisfaction.
It allows you to experiencemoments of pure joy wet time
seems to just fly by and youfeel fully alive and engaged.
Additionally.
Passion provides motivation.
(03:23):
When you're passionate aboutsomething, you are naturally
driven to invest your time.
Your energy and your effort intoit.
Passion.
fuels your determination,perseverance and resilience.
enabling you to overcome thechallenges and obstacles that
may arise along the way.
(03:43):
It keeps you motivated even whenfaced with the greatest setbacks
or failures.
Having passion also helps youfind a sense of identity and
self-expression.
I believe that it allows you toshowcase your unique talents,
your skills, your interests, which in turn boosts your
(04:04):
self-confidence and self-esteem.
When you pursue your passion, you align your actions with your
authentic self, which leads to agreater sense of fulfillment.
Most importantly, though.
Passion brings a sense ofpurpose and fuels personal
(04:25):
growth, as well as continuouslearning.
Passion gives you a reason towake up each day with
enthusiasm.
And the clear sense ofdirection.
when you have a passion, youhave a purpose.
That goes beyond simply goingthrough the motions of life.
It gives your actions andchoices and meaning.
(04:46):
And you feel a deeper connectionto the world around you.
When you're passionate aboutsomething, you are naturally
inclined to delve deeper intoit.
Expand your knowledge about itand improve your skills.
Right.
And so this ongoing journey ofgrowth and development
contributes.
To fulfill in life because youare continually learning, you're
(05:09):
continually grown.
You're continually improvingbecause of the passion that you
have for this thing.
Like I said earlier, I havealways been someone who seeks to
do better tomorrow than I didtoday.
I quite remember even at a youngage of eight.
I would sit down by myself andjust think about my life and
(05:31):
what my future looks like.
It's like, I was constantlyseeing this picture of myself 10
years ahead.
20 years in the future, 30 yearsin the future.
And my goal was to just sitdown.
And think.
And just ask myself.
What choices can I make todaythat will help me become the
(05:54):
person that I'm seeing.
In my future.
Even as a young adult now I tendto take a day once a month or
quite honestly, more than a daysometimes.
But when I do take those dayseach month, I just said that
when I reflect on my life, Andthe purpose of the reflection is
(06:16):
to identify what is working andwhat isn't working.
And so when people ask me, howdid you discover your passion?
Or how did you know this issomething that you like?
And for so many years, this is aquestion that I used to ask.
People as well.
Even as of a few months ago, right?
(06:36):
It's a question I'm close,simply asking people, but how
did you know you like this?
How did you know this is what, you know, God called you to the
UN.
You know, that takes us into theconversation of purpose, which
is a topic that we'll talk moreabout, in upcoming episodes.
But for now.
When I'm asked, how did Idiscover my passion?
(06:56):
I would say that it starts withreflection.
And so I want to encourage youto take time to reflect on your
interest, your hobbies and yourvalues.
What activities bring you joyand fulfillment.
What are the things that makeyou lose track of time.
And even as you consider thesethings, Consider how these
(07:18):
interests align with your corevalues.
And write them down.
You can find a journal.
Pen paper, whatever it is.
Just write down the things thatmake you happy.
The things that you can go daysdo it.
And you wouldn't even thinkabout food or whatever.
You just get so lost in whatyou're doing.
Write these things down and askyourself, how does it.
(07:41):
align.
How does it match up with.
You know, love if that's a corevalue for you, kindness giving.
Charity.
What are your core values?
Ask yourself, how theseinterests aligned with that.
As a Christian.
one of the things that we arecalled to do is to.
Love our neighbors as ourselves.
(08:01):
Right.
And obviously, if you did notlove yourself, then you cannot
love your neighbor.
And so.
Even as I've been on thisjourney of discovering what
things I'm passionate about, I'malways asking myself, how does
this benefit the kingdom of God?
How does my being, you know, passionate about.
(08:23):
Personal development benefit thekingdom of God.
And I came to a realization justa few weeks ago, actually.
That.
Because I love myself.
I once you continually dobetter.
I want to.
Keep thriving.
Keep being the best version ofmyself.
(08:44):
And so if I had to extend thislove to my neighbor, Then
naturally I want to teach themhow to grow in their personal
life, whatever that looks like.
Right.
And so that is what reflectionbrought me to just sitting down,
asking myself what has my lifelooked like over the last few
(09:05):
years?
What things make me happy?
And how have those things.
Number one, change my life.
And how did they align with my.
General calling as a Christian.
If you have someone whosepassion is not so obvious, like
mine, then I want to encourageyou to explore different.
Areas.
(09:26):
Step out of your comfort zoneand try new things.
Sometimes our passions lie inunexpected places.
And you're not gonna find thatout.
Until you explore diverseinterests and quite frankly,
open yourself up to newpossibilities that you may not
have considered before.
Now I believe that anothercrucial aspect of discovering
(09:49):
and pursuing your passion isseeking guidance and mentorship.
The value of having mentors orIn your field of interest can
not be overstated.
Now I'm not talking about.
You know, going online or goingto your church and necessarily
finding someone that can mentoryou one on one.
(10:10):
we live in a world today wheresocial media.
Opens up so many opportunitiesfor us.
Those closest to me know that Ilove Tolulope Solutions.
so much.
She is honestly someone that I,I look up to, she embodies so
much of what.
I've seen my future look like, and we just think alike in so
(10:30):
many ways.
Business wise, family wise, justso many of our values align.
And in watching her over theyears.
I've learned so much from her.
And I haven't necessarily neededthat.
One-on-one time with her.
So, if you're asking yourself.
Well, I hear you Sena out, buthow can I actually find mentors
(10:53):
easy.
start by identifying individualswho have achieved.
Success.
or possess says deep knowledgein your field of interest.
Look for people whose valuesalign with yours and who inspire
you.
Ask yourself, why theseindividuals inspire you?
What is it about them?
(11:13):
What is it about what they'redoing that peaks your interest?
And write those things now.
You can also seek out onlinecommunities or platforms where
like minded individuals gather.
So we have.
A lot of things like thisdiscord channels.
Even on LinkedIn, right?
If you look on LinkedIn, Thereare a lot of communities that
(11:36):
you can join.
based on.
What subjects interest you ifit's like data science, whatever
it is There are communities.
Out there.
Where people who want to achievea common goal, discuss, share
ideas.
Just to stimulate.
growth.
And so don't be afraid to reachout.
Don't be afraid to ask forguidance.
(11:56):
And don't be afraid to expressyour admiration for people who
are doing things that you wouldlove to do.
The honest truth is that mostsuccessful people are willing to
help others who are genuinelypassionate about the same
things.
And all you have to do.
It's ask.
When all is said and donethough.
Life is meaningless.
(12:18):
When you do not follow thetemplate of the one who made
you.
Before you can begin to know andunderstand who you are.
You need to know God.
This is a topic that we'lldiscuss in upcoming episodes,
but I did want to mention thathe had briefly.
You have to be a level of theword of God.
(12:38):
You have to invite the HolySpirit to guide you and and
reveal.
Your interests to you.
The holy spirit, who I call HSby the way.
And brings clarity, convictionand confirmation, as you seek to
discover what ignites you soul.
No question is ever silly to us.
The Holy Spirit.
(12:59):
No situation is trivial to bringto God.
I watch movies with the holyspirit.
I can be watching the movie Ican pause and be like, HS,
what'd you do think about this, you know?
And we'll just have a quick chatabout it.
And it's in.
The little thing is right.
If you're seeking God about thelittle things each day, Then you
can seek him about the biggerthings.
(13:22):
And so my biggest advice to youwould be to pay attention to the
gentle nudges and promptings ofHis Spirit.
Even as you navigate thisjourney of discovering what
truly makes you passionate.
Before we conclude today'sepisode.
I want to emphasize theimportance of embracing the
process of finding your passion.
(13:44):
Hopefully you had me see theprocess.
Because finding what you'repassionate about is a process.
And it's a journey that isfilled with twists and turns.
And it honestly may involve sometrial and error along the way.
It's essential to remember thatthe path to finding your
(14:05):
passion.
It's not always linear.
You may explore differentinterests, try various
activities and encounter momentsof uncertainty.
And that's perfectly okay.
Embrace the process as anopportunity of self discovery
and growth.
And while you're at it.
(14:26):
Seek to know God more andunderstand why you're going
through each season of yourlife.
You also have to be patient withyourself.
Finding your passion takes time.
And it's a life long journey.
So it's completely okay.
If you don't have all theanswers right away.
Allow yourself the freedom toexplore different avenues and
(14:49):
engage in new experiences.
And learn from them.
If you are not learning fromyour mistakes, then you are not
growing.
And here's the thing.
You also, don't only learn frommistakes, right?
You also learn from what works.
And so you have to be patientwith yourself and be conscious
about what went well, whatdidn't go well and seek to
(15:14):
become better.
Each day.
You also have to remember tostay open-minded throughout this
journey.
Be receptive to newpossibilities and opportunities
that may come your way.
Sometimes your passion maysurprise you.
It may be something that younever considered before.
And by remaining open-minded.
(15:35):
You allow yourself to bereceptive to the science that
may lead to your passion.
And remember.
The process to finding yourpassion is as valuable as the
destination itself.
It's a journey about selfdiscovery.
Personal growth.
And learning more about who youare and why you were created.
(15:57):
Embrace the journey.
And please do not be discouragedby setbacks.
They are part of the process.
And they will guide you towardsa clearer understanding of your
passion.
So that's everything I have tosay for now about how to find
what you're passionate about.
But before you go, I did want totouch base really quickly on the
(16:19):
logistics of this podcast.
So you can expect to get a newepisode every Friday.
At 3:00 AM eastern.
Now, I think the time isprobably subject to change, but
on Fridays you should expect toany episode.

With that being said, what canyou expect every Friday when you
tune in.
Well, I didn't only want to makethis podcast about me blubbering
all the time about personaldevelopment, right.
(17:01):
I also wanted to make it sort ofa personal journal of my life.
Where I can track each seasonthat the Lord takes me through.
So on some episodes you canexpect.
Some Bible time.
So can I bother where talkingabout Jesus and just seeing how
we can learn to be more likeHim?
(17:21):
In some episodes.
It would probably be me tellingyou how my week went, What I
learned you in the week, whatthings I thought I could have
done better and just share withyou whatever lessons that.
are, coming at me on my day today.
So definitely tune in.
It's going to be a lot of fun.
I don't know how long the Lordis going to have me do this
(17:44):
podcast thing, but for now I'mexcited to be here.
I'm excited to go on thisjourney with you.
I'm very passionate about.
Self improvements selfdevelopments, talking to people
and just.
Being as best as I can be eachday.
And I hope that as you listen tome, you can tap into that
passion as well and begin todiscover.
(18:07):
The things that make youexcited.
As well, I look forward togetting to know you.
Over the lifetime of thispodcast.
as we conclude this
episode, I hope you feel
inspired to embark on thisjourney of discovering your
passion.
I hope you remember to embracethe process.
Stay resilient.

possibilities that await you.
