Baton Rouge, LA—40-year-old Lyntell Washington was a mother, an educator, and a woman whose life was stolen in the most senseless way by someone she loved and trusted. Her story is not only about betrayal and violence—it’s about how deeply rooted misogyny plays out in real life.
She was judged for her relationship choices, ridiculed in death for loving the wrong man, and abandoned by systems that should have protected her. This is the reality for too many women—especially Black women—who are punished twice: once by the men who harm them, and again by a society that blames them for their suffering.
In this episode, we confront not only the brutal facts of Lyntell’s murder, but the larger truth: misogyny disguised as love, support, and care—yet underneath, it’s control and hatred towards women.
Listen to Season 6: Episode 9 as Shanetelle B addresses those who victim blame and judge women for their relationship choices, while ignoring accountability in those who commit the actual crimes.
Rest in Peace Lyntell Washington 🙏🏼🕊️

Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
