This week in fatphobia we’re talking about Bryce Dallas Howard’s role in the new Jurassic World movie and the interview she gave where she discussed being asked to lose weight for her role in this third installment of the franchise. DeWanda Wise also discussed her body being criticized for being too muscular and it just goes to show that there’s no right way for a woman to be in Hollywood.
We have some excellent tangents this episode! The include: why Hailey doesn’t read romance novels when she clearly should and TikTok Toilet Time. Gotta listen to find out what that’s about!
Our question this week is about being tense about the prospect of sex and also how to enjoy the sex you’re having without upsetting your partner for “doing it wrong”. We do some educating here around vulvas and clitorises and how they’re all delicate little snowflakes that show up with different needs on any given day. A lot of this comes down to helping people game plan some ways to talk about this if you’re struggling with anything similar!
Then we have wins of the week! Hailey is really loving her job these days and feels really good about working for a company that aligns with her values so well. Cassie has figured out using noise canceling earbuds in the car with her kids! Safety + sanity!

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
