Speaker 1 (00:07):
Welcome everyone to
the book I read Today.
We have Aldwyn Alteney.
Am I saying your name right,Aldwyn?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Alteney yeah, aldwyn
Alteney.
Yes, alteney.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
One of the authors in
the book, which is so exciting.
There's like 24, 25 of us, Ithink, but today we're going to
be interviewing Aldwyn.
So, aldwyn, tell us a littlebit about you and your chapter.
What is it that you would likefor us to know?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Thank you, debbie.
Well, I wrote a chapter aboutThink and Grow Rich by Napoleon
Hill, which is a classic bookwritten in 1937.
It's created more millionairesthan any other book and there's
some wonderful principles in it.
So I wrote about that because Ihave been on a personal
development journey for quitesome time.
In fact, since 2005, I haveinvested at least half a million
(00:58):
dollars into my personal andbusiness development and this
book has come up again and againand again, not just in my world
, but my mentors have mentionedthat this is the kind of book
that they just go back to timeand time again.
It's almost like the Bible oflife, almost the Bible of life
and business.
And the principles, the 13principles around desire, faith,
(01:19):
auto-suggestion, specializedknowledge, desire, faith,
auto-suggestion, specializedknowledge, imagination,
organized planning, decision, persistence, the power of the
mastermind, the mystery of sex, transmutation, the subconscious
mind, the brain and the sixthsense are absolutely gold, and
(01:40):
each time I've looked back atthis, depending where I've been
in my life, I've got more thingsout of it, and so it's the kind
of book that you just you cango back over again and again and
keep getting the gems of wisdomthat you need at that time.
So that's the book I chose andI have 40 years of media
experience personally.
I grew up as a first generationAustralian in Sydney.
I have Greek, turkish andUkrainian background and I was
(02:02):
bullied as a kid.
I never felt I belonged.
I felt invisible.
Actually, growing up, I watcheda lot of negative news, didn't
want to be here for a long time.
Growing up went through somevery dark periods and then,
thank goodness, came out theother end of that and now I
absolutely love my life and I'mvery passionate about inspiring
(02:23):
more good news in the world andhelping to lift the energy on
the planet and decreasedepression and suicide rates.
So nowadays I have a mediabusiness.
I work with speakers, authors, entrepreneurs, helping them
package up their genius and getout to the masses and be seen,
heard and known.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
You know and I'm
thinking about all of those
things that you do, but and youwere telling us a little bit
about the book what was itspecifically about that book?
I mean, you had all of thathistory of all of the trauma and
all of those things that youwent through.
What was it specifically aboutthis book that impacted you?
(03:02):
What did it open up for youthat?
Speaker 2 (03:05):
impacted you?
What did it open up for you?
The 13th principle, the sixthsense, the intuition.
There's quite a few of theprinciples actually the 13
principles that touch on thepower of the subconscious or
spirit, or universal energy, orGod energy, the subconscious
mind and faith.
They're three of the principles, right, which I think all tie
into the same thing.
So what I see with people who Ireally admire in life, they're
(03:28):
almost like superhuman.
You know I look at people likelike Oprah, for example.
You know she was so soul drivenand you know someone that I'd
look at her and every time I seeOprah speak, I'm just, I'm
moved.
You know, in some way.
And and other mentors of mine.
You know one of my mentors inSpeakers Institute, sam Cawthorn
, when he does speaking gigs infront of thousands of people, he
(03:49):
always says not me but throughme, not me but through me.
And I think, if you can tapinto that subconscious energy,
that God energy I was brought upChristian, but this is not
about religion.
I do believe it's the oneuniversal energy, personally,
and I think we have differentnames and stories around it,
hence the different religions, and in fact religions have
(04:09):
caused more war than anythingelse.
So I think, the more we canunite and realise that actually
we are all human beings on theplanet doing the best we can in
general.
And how can we become likesuperhuman?
How can we make the most of ourlife?
Well, we do that, not throughour mind as such, even though
there is the brain here as well.
(04:31):
That's talked about in Thinkand Grow Rich.
They talk about the mind, thesubconscious mind and the brain.
Right, we have the brain thathas 60,000 thoughts a day, 98%
of the same as we had yesterday.
80% are negative for mostpeople.
However, how can we silence thebrain and how can we tap more
of our intuition, the sixthsense, how can we use more of
(04:53):
the subconscious mind to be moreon purpose, to come across even
more powerfully?
I guess in the way that we canimpact the world around us with
what we do.
And it's like tapping into thequantum field, and I've done a
lot of.
You know I'm a quantum coachand I've done, you know,
hypnosis and all sorts of othertrainings, as well as my media
(05:13):
trainings.
I love all of that.
There is so much to learn.
It's like the more we learn, the more we realize there is to
learn.
So, you know I love all of that, so I hope that answered the
question.
So it's really, I guess, wasthere one thing?
There's really three principlesthat tap into the one thing I
believe, which is tapping intothat, the power within the power
(05:34):
within the power, without, andrealising that we're never alone
, because that's something Ithought for a long time I felt
very alone.
And when you look at the wordalone, it also says all one, oh,
alone, alone or one, and sowe're actually never alone,
we're always.
You know, in fact, we have 14generations of DNA in us, so we
(05:56):
actually have our ancestors withus, and often I will actually
feel my ancestral presencearound me.
And I've had ancestors that werekilled for stepping up, that
were kulaks in Ukraine whenStalin came in and killed off
all the kulaks.
And then, you know, I've hadancestors that my granddad ran
away from Ukraine because he wasspeaking up against the
(06:16):
government and they were comingto kill him for speaking up
against the government, ran awayto Turkey.
So I have in my ancestral linepeople that were killed for
stepping up, running for theirlife for speaking up.
And that's exactly what I helppeople do and I know my
ancestors are supporting meright and I know that that is in
spirit world, right that is.
It's all tapping into thatuniversal energy, that
consciousness your angels guides, whatever you want to call it,
(06:40):
it's tapping into that Godpresence.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
And the universe has
conspired to bring you to that
understanding right.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Yes, and it's taken
years to come to this point and
I feel like I'm just gettingstarted.
I've just turned 50 and I, Ilove learning.
I, I I'm a sponge for knowledgeand and I love the power that
is within and all around us and,as, as my mentor said, not me,
but through me.
Right, not you know, we, we canyou know, use our, our, the
(07:11):
amazing gift we've been given oflife.
Right, we are one in a billion.
Just by being born, we've beena billion swimmers to get to the
finish line.
Right, we've actually between400 million to 1.2 billion
swimmers and we won the race.
Right, there's a reason we'rehere on the planet.
We are miracles of life and Ido believe we're here for a
greater purpose than just ourown lives and the more that we
(07:32):
can, we can be of service.
As they say, there's no greaterpurpose than being of service,
and often, if we look at our ownstories and our own background
and we look at the challengeswe've been through, there'll be
learnings and there'll bethere'll be little snippets of
wisdom in that as to as to whatour mission is meant to be.
I believe, because I thinkeverything happens for us, not
to us.
(07:53):
Everything happens for us, notto us.
So I've had depression.
I've had four friends taketheir own lives by the age of 45
.
I've had some near-deathexperiences.
I've experienced burnout, allthese things, and they've all
happened for me because there'sbeen so many learnings in all of
that.
I got swept out to sea last year.
I could have easily havedrowned or got taken by a shark.
(08:13):
However, I survived it right.
And you know I learned to gowith the flow.
I learned to breathe and totrust myself.
And to you know there were somany learnings to have that
faith that's mentioned in Thinkand Grow Rich right, to tap into
the subconscious mind, to letgo and let God or let go and let
flow.
You know, if I battled againstthe waves I would have run out
(08:33):
of breath and drowned.
You know that's just oneexample of something that you
know.
Thank goodness my twogirlfriends with me didn't get
swept out to sea, because theywould have drowned for sure,
because they wouldn't have knownwhat to do.
They would have panicked, as alot of people would, and thank
goodness I was fairly good inthe ocean.
But you know, I got swept likea kilometre out to sea.
It wasn't a rip that comes backaround to the shore.
(08:55):
This was a whole otherexperience and all of everything
I've learned including theThink and Grow Rich book, which
is the foundational principles,I believe, for living an amazing
life all of it helped mesurvive that experience and to
come back and share the storyand to share the beach safety
message.
You know, I went out and I did alive video the next day after
(09:17):
that happened and that gotshared multiple times, got
thousands of views and you know, because it's a beach safety
message and we were able, through the media too, to impact
the local council because ontheir website in Coffs Harbour
they said it was a safe area forchildren to swim, where I got
swept out to sea and there werelike 35 drownings in New South
Wales for that summer period.
(09:38):
And so that day when we gotonto the media about it, they
changed their website and saidbe careful of the currents,
right and so.
So this is the thing is by byspeaking up about it, I was able
to impact change in that localarea which hopefully will help
save some lives in future.
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
And we just have just
a few more minutes today and I
would like to ask you I'm sograteful for you joining us and
sharing your story and yourconnection to this book that we
all contributed to and yourconnection to this book that we
all contributed to, and I lovethat we're all coming together
with our stories to raise thevibration of the planet again in
(10:17):
gratitude, which is even higherthan love.
And what is one thing, onething that you would just wish
for everybody that hears us andthat sees us today, what is one
thing that you would wanteverybody to have that
understanding of?
Speaker 2 (10:35):
I would like people
to realize how amazing they are
and that they are a gift to theplanet.
You are a gift to the planet.
You are extraordinary.
You are much more powerful thanyou would even think you are.
And it's to let go and let flowand let God look at the things
that you love doing, as BobProctor says, and do more of
(10:56):
that.
How can you bring more joy, gratitude, love.
How can you bring more peaceinto your life?
How can you bring more joy, gratitude, love.
How can you bring more peaceinto your life?
How can you bring moreenlightenment into your life?
And you know it comes fromhaving that time with yourself
and tapping into the beautifulinner wisdom that you have
around you and tuning in.
You know silencing the busymind and tuning in to what your
heart truly desires.
And you know the big thing isyou don tuning in to what your
(11:19):
heart truly desires.
And you know the big thing isyou don't want to be one of
these 90% of people that diewith regrets and a third of
people die by 65.
You want to be one of thesepeople, ideally, that lives a
full life.
And you get to the end of yourlife and you think, yeah, I gave
it everything.
I lived a full life and I didthe best I could and I had a
great life.
I enjoyed this wholerollercoaster journey of life,
(11:42):
all the ups and downs.
Enjoy all of it and enjoy theride.
Buckle up, enjoy the ride andmake the most of it.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Absolutely wonderful.
Absolutely wonderful.
