And, speaking of that, if youhave been listening to this
podcast and you do find value init, would you be so kind to hit
the five-star rating superquick, whether in Apple, spotify
, whatever it is, it reallyhelps.
I think I would think I don'tknow.
I know I don't know how they dothe algorithms, but I can't

(04:11):
help but think that when someonerates it, or if you write a
written review, how much it justsolidifies in the algorithm
that this is a valuable podcast.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
So that would mean the world to me if you had 30
seconds to just write a reviewand and let me know what you
think of this podcast, or letothers know you know how you
feel about the podcast, how it'shelped you or inspired you or
motivated you.
That would mean so much to meand I appreciate it so much.
Okay, that's it On to theepisode.
Hi friends, how are you?
How's everything going?

Speaker 3 (04:24):
How are you doing?
How is your business?
Maybe some of you are heretoday.
You haven't started yourbusiness, so how's your business
idea going?
I know a lot of you two arethinking about starting a
podcast, maybe a YouTube channel, or maybe it's just like a
fitness regimen or anything inyour life that you want to start
, and hopefully this title ofthis episode and this episode

(04:47):
here brought you to this placewhere you can realize that there
is a myth out there that youhave to feel totally ready to do
anything.
True, you rarely feel totallyready when you are starting

(05:12):
anything new.
I mean, you may be mentallyready, but you may be going.
It's the wrong time.
I don't have time right now.
You know you've got all theseother things going on.
I just can't think of a timewhen I thought I'm 100% ready,
because even if you think it'sthe right time, the right place,
and all that part of you stilldoesn't want to do it, like
you're scared or you just don'twant to go through the pain.

(05:34):
You don't want to go throughnew beginnings and being bad at
something and I've talked aboutthis kind of stuff before on
past episodes, if you've beenlistening to me a while.
But just realize there is nopoint when you totally feel
ready and I want to talk aboutthat, I want to dig in because

(05:56):
this will make sense After youlisten to these things that I'm
going to share with you.
I think it's going to makesense that hopefully you say
she's right, I don't feeltotally ready and that's okay
and I can still pursue it.
So I'm so happy you're heretoday.
I think this is a good episode Iwas thinking through too when I
started my first business witha friend.
I don't think I sat there andpondered am I ready for this?

(06:21):
I said I'm pregnant with myfirst child.
I have a full-time career intechnology sales, but I want to
start this business with myfriend and we're going to have a
blast.
I don't think I overthought it.
Have you ever thought aboutthat?
Like in older days, right Intimes when you were younger,

(06:42):
like I'm thinking this was what25 years ago.
Right In times when you wereyounger, like I'm thinking this
was what 25 years ago, I didn'toverthink some things.
And sometimes when we're young,we don't think through things
enough, don't you agree?
Especially if you haveteenagers?
You're like you're not thinkingthis through, right, but I
think that many of us, whenwe're younger, we just go for
things, and I'm wondering now ifthat's why so many of my

(07:05):
clients are in your 40s and 50s,because now we're wiser, right,
and we know what it's like tofail and to make mistakes.
So we're thinking this throughand we want to make sure that we
are prepared and that we arelessening the risk, that we are

(07:26):
doing something that's going towork, that has certainty, and
I'll tell you this, you willnever feel totally ready and
it's okay.
Now here's my one caveat.
Okay, my one caveat if you'relooking to start a business,
start a podcast, start a YouTubechannel something new in your
life.
Looking to start a business, start a podcast, start a YouTube

(07:49):
channel something new in yourlife.
One thing I want to add, and Ithink this is kind of a no-go I
do not think you should start abusiness if you literally don't
have the time.
So when I'm talking abouteverything in this episode, I'm
assuming that you have time forthis, okay, because if I was
talking to you one-on-one in acoaching session, you're like
I'm thinking about starting abusiness here's my great idea.

(08:11):
But I've got a full-time job.
I have three kids.
I homeschool.
When I get home from work, I'mexhausted.
Every day.
Yeah, I don't really do muchwith my husband and I'm just I
am exhausted.
But I've had this dream.
I literally would tell you Idon't know if this is the right
time for you.
I don't think you have time foryourself, I don't think you

(08:34):
have time for your marriage, Idon't think you have time for
your kids if you're trying tohomeschool and you have a
full-time job and then you wannastart this business.
So I would be very honest withyou and I wanna be honest with
all of you today.
But if you've been going backand forth like, should I start
this, should I not?
Let's just start with the firstquestion.
Should I mean, do you actuallyhave time for this?

(08:58):
I've talked about this, I think, just in a recent episode is
that your business can bewhatever you want and you can
work on it.
If you have 2 hours on theweekend, if you have an hour a
day during the week, whateveryou can give it, that isn't
taking away from your personallife.
That is very important to you,if you can say that honestly,

(09:21):
that this will not take awayfrom my time, because I time,
because I will get grocerydelivery, I will have meals
delivered, I will get mychildren to cook, I will do
other things so that all thisstuff doesn't fall through the
cracks.
If you can honestly say that, that you have time that you can
squeeze in, if you're creativeso that you're not taking away
time from your family and yourloved ones and your personal

(09:41):
life, then you can start yourbusiness.
You really can.
You can do it on the cheap, youcan do it in a way where you
invest a lot of money.
I mean, you get to build thisin your way.
So let's go through kind ofthree points that I have written
out here for you, because Ithink this will help guide you
and help you see that it's okay, make you feel better, make you

(10:03):
actually feel ready.
Right, instead of thinking I'mnot ready or am I ready, I need
to be ready enough.
I want you to realize that youactually are ready more than you
realize.
Again, assuming that one caveatthat you actually have time for
this.
So number one is you will neverbe trained or schooled enough to

(10:30):
feel 100% confident in yourability.
I have not met one new smallbusiness owner that said, yes, I
know everything there is toknow I feel totally confident in
all my business skills, fromaccounting to marketing to
everything.
I feel like I know what I'mdoing 100% and I've taken all

(10:51):
the courses that I need, I'vehad all the coaching that I need
and I feel ready.
You have to realize that noamount of endless coaching,
endless courses, endlesseverything will have you totally
ready.
I think you can feel a littlemore confident right in your
abilities and your businessskills and all that, and that's
great, and there may be somethings that you need to know.
So I would recommend that youcan even get them going, as you

(11:14):
are getting the business goingtoo.
But I always believe in sometype of coaching or some type of
help.
I just want you to realize thatyou will never feel 100%
prepared.
You will never feel 100%prepared.
You just won't, because youdon't even know what's coming.
You don't know how yourbusiness is going to evolve, you

(11:36):
don't know what all this means, and so there's just no way that
you could be totally 100% ready.
I think if we were all at ourpeak performance and we all were
the most trained, coached, strategized business owner in
the world, we would be the mostamazing business owner in the
world and I don't think there isthe most amazing business owner

(11:57):
in the world.
I think there are teams ofpeople that guide businesses and
make decisions to the best oftheir ability and build
successful businesses.
So, anyways, just realize thatthat you'll never be schooled or
trained enough.
So right now, if you're sittinghere and you're like, okay, I
want to start my podcast, or Iwant to start, you know my

(12:18):
business or whatever it is, gethelp.
And y'all know I'm availablehere for both of those for your
business and for your podcast.
We can even do an hour ofcoaching, something to help you
so that you are on the righttrack.
And I have courses, too, thatyou can work through on your own
right now and start bingingeverything and know what you
need to know.
Because that's my wholephilosophy I'm giving you the

(12:39):
information you need to knowright now, so we're not bogging
you down with all these high-end, complicated, advanced
strategies that are notapplicable to this stage of your
business.
They waste your time and energyand money, and I get so sad
when I see new business owners, new podcasters, get sucked into

(13:01):
all kinds of stuff that reallyis not applicable to right now
and getting this off the groundand growing Okay, so you will
never feel totally trained andready.
It's just like if you were aboutto begin a weight loss journey
or something.
You know that's a hard momentwhen you're like okay, I need to

(13:21):
do this.
Are you 100% ready?
Probably not because you justwant to stick in your own ways.
You just wish that the weightwould come off by staying the
way you've been right, by livingthe life that you've been
living.
But you know you have to make achange and it's really hard and
you want to get educated.
Like what kind of plan?
What could I do?
I need to be mentally ready.

(13:43):
You do, you need to be mentallyready.
But you can overthink that wholebeginning and get in your own
head about it and never beginBecause you have told yourself
I'm actually not ready becauseI'm not smart enough, I don't
know all the stuff, I'm nottrained enough, I'm not skilled
enough.
I think you can do the basicthings to be skilled enough and

(14:03):
get going.
Okay, because your skills aregoing to be a product, a
byproduct actually a byproductof you taking action.
They will be a byproduct.
You will gain businessknowledge and skills more from
doing and realizing.
Oh, I learned that.
I learned that and I learnedthat, although you do want to

(14:24):
start on the right foot and havesome guidance in the beginning
so you don't waste a lot of timegoing in the complete wrong
direction and doing things youdon't need to be doing and
wasting time doing things thehard way, right.
So that's number one You'llnever be schooled, trained, have
enough certifications and allthat stuff.
You've got to get moving andwhen you do that, your skills,

(14:45):
your advancement in your skills, will be a byproduct of that
action.
Okay, number two you will neverhave the greatest version of
your product or service ready ifyou wait and don't begin.
So I want you to think aboutthis for a minute.
If you're starting a businessand you want to create candles
or soaps or something that youmake, or maybe you have a

(15:06):
service you want to offer acourse or you want to do
coaching, you will never have itat its very best.
I don't know if you ever will, and that's hard to hear.
You're like what I will neverhave it at my best, it's hard to
say.
I don't think any business ownerI asked right now would say is

(15:29):
your product or service the bestit could ever be.
I think if everyone was honest, they would say no, I don't
think my stuff is the best itcould ever be.
It is the best that it can beright now, based on all the
knowledge that I have and theexperience that I have with new
business owners and newpodcasters like you, right, but
is it the best it will ever be?
How could it be?
Knowledge that I have and theexperience that I have with new
business owners and newpodcasters like you, right, but
is it the best it will ever be?

(15:50):
How could it be If I keep doingthis for years?
More I'm learning, more I'vegot even more data, but I have
it at a point that I feel reallygood about it, and that's where
you have to be.
Is that you feel like in thebeginning?
Let me let me you know rephrasethat getting?

(16:12):
Let me let me you know rephrasethat I feel very happy about
how mine are.
But when you start your business, you have to realize that it
has to just be good enough rightnow.
It has to be good enough rightnow.
Okay, you will not have thegreatest version of your product
or service ready.
So a lot of you wait, you putoff starting your business

(16:32):
Because you don't think it'sgood enough.
And here's what I love to tellyou is that anything that you
create that is better than whata newbie would do or what you
know, someone who needs yourproduct or service would feel
they would feel like whateveryou're offering is great.
They don't know the vision thatyou have for your product or

(16:57):
service.
Nobody knows it, only you do.
But whatever you are offering,if it can actually help people,
is going to be useful and worthyto the people who would benefit
from it.
Right, there's like me I don'tknow if I'm explaining this well
enough, but like, anything youprovide them is usually going to

(17:19):
be better than where they areright now.
You know, I mean, think aboutit Like when I started business
coaching.
I didn't feel like I was thesmartest business coach in the
world because I had nevercoached people.
I just had all my experiencerunning my own businesses Right,
and I knew that my coaching wasnot at the best it was ever
going to be.
But I said it's going to begood enough for somebody who is

(17:43):
brand new to business, has nobusiness skills and just wants
to turn their passion or theirskills or their God-given gifts
or their talents into a business.
I can help them with thatenough.
What I offered in the beginningwas good enough.
And then my business evolvedand I, you know, help y'all with

(18:04):
starting your business and thengrowing your business.
Your strategy for that?
A very simple strategy I helpy'all with starting a podcast,
right?
So look how it's evolved.
Look how it's evolved.
So that's what's going tohappen to you.
If you have a product that youmake or create, it's going to
start one way and it's got tostart at good enough, because it
is not going to be the bestversion.
And a lot of you stall and takeforever and delay your success

(18:26):
and delay beginning this dreambecause you're frustrated that
it's not the best that it willever be, and you are going to
have to realize right now, today, it is not going to be the best
that it will ever be and youhave to be okay with that.
You have to be okay with that, okay, because it will get better

(18:48):
as a byproduct of you takingaction in your business.
So again, number one, we saidyou're never going to be trained
and skilled enough in business.
You're just not.
Before you start, you got tojust start and your skills and
knowledge and strategic vision, and all of that will be a

(19:09):
byproduct of you taking action.
And then we said number twoyour product or service or
program or coaching or whateveryou're offering or your podcast,
is not going to be the bestversion of what it's ever going
to be, but its value, itseffectiveness, will increase
over time as a byproduct of youtaking action.

(19:32):
Right?
Y'all seeing the theme here.
And here's number three you willnever have 100% certainty of
success with your business, andthis one's a hard one, because
we want to know that when westart something, we're going to
have success.
Like if we start a new dietplan I was talking about weight
loss or if you start a newrunning you know regimen where
you want to run a marathon, donot have certainty that you will

(20:00):
succeed, that you will loseweight or that you will not get
injured and you know, won't beable to run.
Like, your business has noguarantee that it's going to
succeed, just like in life, wehave no guarantee of tomorrow,
right?
So you have to be OK with that.
If you want to start a business, you have to be OK with
uncertainty, because that'swhere it's at and you have to
learn how to pivot and adjust.
But what helps you is after time, helping people and offering

(20:24):
your product or service, you cansee the clouds clear and you
feel a little more confident andmore certain about your future
right now, when you've takenaction.
So, again, you will gain alittle more certainty.
You'll never have it 100%, butyou will gain a little more
certainty and confidence as abyproduct of taking action and

(20:51):
actually pursuing your dream.
Whatever it is, okay, you willgain that confidence, that
clarity, that certainty.
Again, you'll never be 100%certain I don't, ever want to
say that because you won't butit's all a byproduct of you
actually taking action in this.

(21:12):
Okay, realize in your business, your podcast, your YouTube
channel, whatever it is thatyou're starting right now or
maybe it's something new in lifepersonally that readiness is
not required to be successfuland it's not needed.
The only thing that I think youneed to have like for sure, is

(21:33):
time to work on this, because ifyou don't have time, then you
don't need to be doing thisright now.
But you need to have time, okay, and if you have the time, then
I think you should pursue it.
If you have two hours on everyweekend, if you have an hour a
day, like I said, five days aweek.
If you have three hours hereand there that you can work on
it and that's your time to workon your business, then great.

(21:57):
But know now now, like, go aheadand be okay with this, accept
these things that you'll neverbe schooled or trained enough.
You'll never be a businessscholar before you start your
business.
You're going to get smarter andsmarter as a byproduct of doing
You'll.
Number number two you'll neverhave the greatest product,
services, program, course,anything, podcast, youtube

(22:18):
channel nothing in the beginning.
You're going to have to be okaywith that, but you will get
more proficient.
You will get better and better.
Your product or service will beeven more valued as a byproduct
of you taking action andactually doing this.
And number three you will neverhave total certainty, total
confidence in what you're doing.
I think if every business owneris honest, you always have room

(22:42):
to be more confident in whatyou're doing, and not in a fake
way, but in an actual way, because you've got a proven
track record right.
You're never going to have that, but after taking action and
doing and helping people andserving people as a byproduct
doing and helping people andserving people.
As a byproduct, you gain moreconfidence, you can see the

(23:03):
future of your business, you canhave more certainty about what
you're doing, and it's just sucha relief Realize today.
You will never feel 100% ready,as long as you have the time to
do this and the drive to helpthe people that you're meant to
serve.
If you really have thatyearning, then I think the sky
is the limit for you.
Forget about being ready, butwhat you need to remember is

(23:24):
that I have to have things goodenough and I have to just get
going now so that I can gain allthose skills and everything
that I need to feel really goodabout my decision to start a
business or a podcast orwhatever it is in your life,
right, so that's it.
I just wanted you to realizethat I think this is a myth,
that nobody feels ready, andit's funny too, because I was

(23:45):
even running ads to my 16-stepchecklist right now and I say
are you ready to start abusiness?
I'm asking people if they'reready and probably everyone's
probably going no, I don't feelready, but I think people do say
that they're like I'm ready forsomething different in my life.
I think a lot of you are justready for more fulfillment, more

(24:05):
meaning right in your life andhave a career, even if it's just
a little part-time career.
You want to have a career thatfills your soul and fits your
life right, and that's what I'mhere to help you do.
So always know that I'm here.
You can reach out.
I've got courses and I've gotone-on-one coaching to guide you

(24:26):
as you either start yourbusiness or start your podcast.
And if you're ready to growyour business, I've got a course
in there my Grow Getters coursethat will massively help you
and give you clear direction forhow you're going to confidently
show up and consistentlygenerate sales.
So that's it.
Y'all have a great day.
Remember, you're never going tofeel ready.
That's just a myth.
You're just going to get movingbecause you have a dream.

(24:47):
Okay, that's it Until next timebye now.

Speaker 2 (24:55):

does not have to end here.

you know what.
