There's probably 800,000 ofthem and she's narrowing it down

certified to be a life coach andhow this all marries together.
I thought it was so fascinating.
I didn't know the conversationwas going to be going in this
direction, but it's super coolto talk about that, because
there's so much more toorganizing than you think and
you're going to love thisepisode.
I mean, we even touched onthings about the identity that

(02:24):
we give ourselves and how thatrelates to our business.

This is going to be a fun dayfor all my listeners out there.
We're going to get organizedwith Tracy.

(03:27):
She's an organizing coach, as Ishared earlier in the intro.
And Tracy, welcome to the show.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Thanks, kimberly.
I'm so excited to be here andhave this conversation.
Anytime I can talk aboutorganizing, it's so exciting.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
What I love is that we all, like, have our passions
and skills, and yours isorganizing.
And there's other people thatare like, oh my gosh, I want to
be organized but I can't.
And it's like the people withnumbers, too, that are
financially able.
That's what I'll say.
They're like really good at it,and they're like I love numbers
.
And people are like no.
Anyways, I'm so excited to haveyou because I think organizing
is such an important key to ourbusiness that we sometimes

(04:02):
overlook, don't you?

Speaker 3 (04:03):
think, important, key to our business that we
sometimes overlook, don't youthink?
Yes, we always wish, andsometimes it causes the shame or
embarrassment or whatever, orkeeps us stuck because we're not
getting tasks done, becausewe're wasting so much time.
So, yes, I don't think peoplerealize the importance of it in
growing a business.
Yeah, I don't think we doeither.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I mean, I know we can look at what's tangible in
front of us and, like my deskI'm glad the camera can't see it
right now.
There's a little bit of mess onmy desk I'm not even going to
lie, there is and I have threecups of water, which I should
only have one.
But I think we overlook thedigital side to our business and

(04:49):
that's why I was so excited tohave you, because this is so key
and I love what you said likewe could be wasting time.
We don't even realize the timewe're losing by having things
disorganized.
So tell us again who all youwork with and who you help, so
then we can get into this.
I'm so excited for you to shareabout the file folders that we
need the really important five.
You know we're going to betalking about that.
I'm so excited, but I'd love tohear more about the types of
people that you work with andhow you've helped them, like

(05:09):
what this has meant to them.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Oh, that's such a good question.
I love talking about this.
I help coaches and onlinebusiness owners organize their
business in the back end and Ijust got off the call with
someone and she's had thisidentity of not being an
organized person.
She was a mess and thoughtslike I can't grow my business
because I'm disorganized, or Ican't grow or do what I want

(05:35):
because of disorganization.
And now we have her filestructure set up, we have her
bookmarks bar organized, she'ssaving time, she knows exactly
where things are on her computerand just as we talked about it,
it was like there was so muchevidence and she still has that
thought show up, but there's somuch evidence that her business

(05:59):
is organized and that when thereis something maybe she feels
disorganized, in that she canget the help and she has the
support to be able to figurethat out and create a solution
and then keep moving forward.
And the coolest picture came tomind was like a funnel or a
tunnel, a pipe, and it getsclogged.
And if your disorganization isclogging the pipe of your

(06:23):
business, it's not flowing.
But when you can unclog that.
It flows through and then maybe, as your business grows and
different things evolve, youmight still need to unclog those
things.
But I just love the visual ofthat.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Yeah, that's so true, I didn't think about that.
And I love what you were sayingabout identity, because I've
gone through periods in my lifewhere I've taken on new things
but it never felt like myidentity.
I remember when I was startingto try to run and do a half
marathon this was years ago andthen people would see me in my
running shorts because I wastrying to keep up with the.
You know the things that I hadto do each week.

(07:00):
You know I had to run threetimes a week and do this and
they're like oh, you're a runnerand had to do each week.
You know I had to run threetimes a week and do this.
And they're like, oh, you're arunner, and I'm like I'm not a
runner, I'm actually just tryingto do a half marathon and do
something.
But I couldn't get that in myhead.
And then finally I startedrealizing wait, I actually am
sort of a runner right now andI'm taking this on.
And then it kind of feelsfreeing and you feel empowered.
So I love that you said that, because I think we can label

(07:22):
ourselves that we're notorganized, we're not good at
this, and you're saying we haveto kind of let go of that and
start embodying it and say wecan, because it's going to save
us time, we can actually beorganized.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yeah, and that's one thing I love is I start with the
mindset and the identity thatyou're carrying with you and all
those thoughts that are thethings that are actually
stopping you, but then, practically, we are going to
build the evidence until youhave so much evidence that the
other thought kind of just goesaway or fades into the

(07:54):
background.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yes, so before you work with people, what is it
that you see?
What's the disaster that'sthere?
Because I think we all havedigital disasters.
I would like to think, I mean,if I went to my folders right
now, it is organized in someways, but it could be better.
It could be better.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
But what?

Speaker 2 (08:13):
do you see that people are doing?
That is what is actuallywasting them so much time?
So, like, when you think abouttheir folders, what's going on?

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Well, they're not able to find what they need.
So that could be the links thatthey need to give people, or
the notes that they took noteswith their own coach or with
their clients, or the worksheetthey need to give to their
client or a couple.
People are making good money intheir business, but they're
spending half the time trying tofind the files that their team

(08:45):
needs to do their job.
So, every time their team memberneeds something, they're
searching everywhere, all thestuff is just such a mess
because they've never taken thetime to get it organized.
And so, just you know, there isgoing to come a point where
you're at that point.
It could be now, it could be ayear from now, but there is a

(09:08):
time when you will have to getit organized, and so sooner is
always better.
And you hear those people thatare at that point and they're
like, oh my gosh, I wish I wouldhave done this sooner to set up
some foundations and starttraining your brain to think in
a way that helps you.
So really, it's the time, thewasted time, the frustration,

(09:29):
the shame of having it that way,all of that energy that you're
spending trying to find thingsand duplicating and remaking and
searching, and all of that.
That's the obvious way thatprobably, if you're listening,
you're like, oh my gosh, yes, that's me.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Yeah, exactly no, I was thinking too.
Do you find that we have a lotof extra files that we don't
need and junk that we don't need?
I feel like I have so manyfiles just growing every year
more and more and more, and allthe pictures and all the
documents and like, what's yourthoughts on that?
Do you see a lot of us carryingtoo much, having too much?

Speaker 3 (10:07):
Oh for sure, Okay, and you think of that clutter is
delayed decisions, so it's notdeciding on anything that's on
your computer and for us it'seasy because we can just add
storage and pay for more storageand not have to deal with it.
So if you think of it like ahouse, I mean you're paying for
storage or you're smashing morestuff into the spaces that you

(10:31):
have, but then again it comesdown to can I find it when I
need it?

Speaker 2 (10:37):
But on the computer.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
It's easy you just pay for more, and when your
computer's not running well, you're like, oh, I just need
more storage, and you just goget it.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
That's so true.
I know I was thinking about toowhen we went through a little
bit of remodeling a couple ofyears ago in our house and I
remember someone saying the bestway to get everything organized
is to get rid of like 90% of it.
And we did.
I mean, we donated so much andI was like why didn't I do this

(11:05):
before?
What was I doing?
And yeah, like you say, likesearching for things, that takes
you forever to dig, and nowit's like everything has its
place Not that we're perfectlyneat in our home, but at least
we know where it's supposed togo.
And I labeled some shelves andstuff for clothes and things.
So now it's like everything iskind of having its specific spot
.
So I love that when you'retalking about that, all that
clutter and just trying to findthings, you're just digging
through and wading through stuff.

(11:26):
It's just it's wasting time, energy and money you could be
making doing something else inyour business.
You know that's so important.
So I love that.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Which that makes me, like, think we need to define
what being organized means, because if we all have different
pictures and we all think ofsome picture on Instagram or you
know the most organized onlineperson you think there is, you
know you're never going tocompare to either of those.
So organization just means thatyou know what you have and you

(11:58):
can find it when you need it,and so that's so simple.
You can be organized and itmight not look like someone else
or even your own expectation ofwhat you thought it should look
like, but I feel like that'ssuch a comforting definition
that you can find.
Just by knowing that definition, you can find places in your

(12:18):
business where you actually areorganized because you know what
you have and you can find it.
Are organized because you knowwhat you have and you can find
it.
And then the rest of it is maybeyou just need to have some
structures or tools taught toyou that you can implement.
And then the second part ofthat is the habits.
When you said, like it's justthe habits, you have to keep it
organized.
If you're dropping stuff onyour desktop or on the kitchen

(12:42):
counter, you know if you have ahome for it.
You can quickly put it into itshome, same with your computer,
like if you download stuff onyour desktop or your documents
or whatever.
You can quickly put it into ahome if you have that structure
set up.
So that's kind of the key ishaving the structure so you know
where things are and you knowwhere to put them when you're

(13:04):
doing your weekly habit ofcleaning it up or whatever.
Right.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Right, that's so cool .
Well, I'm so excited to hearabout these five file folders.
Who knew that we were going tohave an episode on this?
And I'm so glad that we are.
So everyone listening.
Get ready.
Maybe you're on a walk, maybeyou're working out.
Whatever you're doing, try tomemorize these.
If not, take notes.
I'll have notes in the shownotes as well, because I think
these are so important thatTracy is sharing with us, and I

(13:30):
can't wait that you know thatyou're going to help us get
organized here with these filefolders.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
So, yes, and I have a free class Kimberly too that
they can just take.
It's on my website, but it'ssimplysquaredawaycom forward.
Slash five files, the numberfive, so you can go and learn
them like go find out and I showpictures, even of like what it
looks like on the Google Drive, what it looks like on your
desktop.
You know to have these set upExciting.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
My listeners are going to love this.
That's awesome.
So, everyone, you're all good.
Just kind of soak this in, payattention, and then you can go
and watch Tracy's free class.
So, yes, Okay.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
So if you're going to get started organizing, people
often ask where do I start?
And I'm like just start withdigital files.
I think that's the biggestplace where you could start.
So you start there and imagineeverything on your computer all
over your desk, like everydocument on your computer is now
a pile on your desk Right andwe are going to sort everything

(14:31):
in there into.
I always start with the two, like we have personal and we
have business, so then we justknow immediately we have
personal or business when you'reorganizing your business.
There's five file folders thatI think.
I mean I have worked with a lotof people and these work for
almost everyone.

(14:52):
So the first one is operations.
Anything behind the scenes ofyour business that run your
business is operations.
Some people might want to callit admin, you know, change the
name, I don't care, but it justand little tip, I like putting a
one in front of it so that onyour drive or dashboard or

(15:14):
desktop or wherever you'restoring your files and that's
something I haven't mentioneddecide on one place.
The power of one is key.
So you decide on my computer iswhere my hub is, or in my
Google Drive is where my hub is,or OneDrive or Dropbox,
wherever it is Okay.
And then you have operations.
The second folder is marketing.

(15:35):
That's anything outward facingOkay.
So you have inward and outwardoperations and marketing.
Then the next two.
The third one is my content, okay.
And the fourth one is education.
Education is anybody else'scontent.
That could be certificationsand all the freebies you

(15:56):
download, and your coaches thatyou hire and their information.
Anything from someone elsecourses you buy.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
This one is key because I know, especially
during COVID, when everyone wasat home, I was downloading 80
million freebies from any personI could ever find and I then I
printed them and I'm not kidding, I think it was like two years
ago.
I had like two bins full ofprinted paper, but those were

(16:25):
all also digital files.
Yeah, I had them, two bins fullof printed paper, but those
were all also digital files.
Yeah, I had them all printed.
I was like what was I doingduring COVID?

Speaker 3 (16:30):
I was trying to become a professional, you were
learning a lot.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Yes, but I love that Like a folder just for education
, for the stuff that you getfrom other people, like why?
Okay, yes, I don't know why Ididn't totally have that I know.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
Separated and it's all over.
And then people are like Idon't know where I put it, but
anything from someone else goesin education.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Okay so clear.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
And then the fifth one is clients.
Okay, so anything related toclients go in there.
Now it's like a what is thatcalled?
I always forget the name whenit comes down, and then it goes
to Like a flow chart, not a flowchart Flow chart.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Oh, it is a flow chart.
I remember that, yes.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
So it comes down into your computer and it's either
personal or business, yes, andthen the business.
There's five options.
That's it, five options.
It's going to go in one ofthose folders.
That's it, five options.
It's going to go in one ofthose folders.
Once you get everything in yourwhole entire computer sorted
into those five folders relatedto your business, then you

(17:33):
follow the next step oforganizing, which is to go back
into each one at a time andpurge.
So sort and then purge.
Those are the steps.
I mean there's five steps toorganizing, as well as five
folders, but those are the firsttwo.
So sort and purge, so go backin and purge those.

(17:53):
This is amazing.
I need to do this today, yes,and you don't need to purge as
you go, because what happens andthis is with think of
organizing your closet you walkin and you see a shirt and
you're like I need to get rid ofsome stuff.
And you pick the shirt up andyou're like, well, I don't know,
I kind of like that shirt.
Well, it looks really good withthat pair of pants.
And you're like I just can'tdecide and you put it back and

(18:15):
you leave Because it's toooverwhelming to just try to make
a decision first thing.
So first thing is always tosort.
Then you have everythingrelated to operations in the
operations file and you're like,oh my gosh, I have five copies
of this.
Why do I have five duplicatesof this one thing?
And then it's easy to purgebecause you can see what you

(18:37):
have.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
This is so good.
Okay, yes, I know it just makesyou think about your structure
of your files and even in yourhome.
Like what's the structure?
Do we take our shoes off here?
What do we do?
I mean, we put our keys in thesame spot.
Now I like have everybody dothat and like why aren't we
doing that more with our digitalfiles?
You know, yes, and it's so muchkinder to our brain.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Because how in the world are we expecting our brain
to try to remember, in all thedifferent random times that we
started trying to get organized, remember what we did?
And then we're spinning allover and all it takes is to have
a structure.
And that's why organizing yourbusiness, you more than likely

(19:23):
and I hear so many people saythis, even people that have ADHD
or have a neurodivergent typeof brain style, thinking style
or whatever.
They all say, like I can getorganized, I just don't know how
to do the first part.
Or I can stay, I can use asystem.
I'm just not.
I just don't know what to do.

(19:44):
To begin with, right, yes, thenget help.
But people think I should beable to do this, I should know
how to do this.
Why can't I get this done?
Something's wrong with me.
It's like no, nobody taught ushow to organize.
We just we don't know.
And why not get the help?
You need to get the structureset up?
And then it's like oh, thisflow chart, it just flows in and

(20:06):
you keep training your brainlike that and you use that same
structure in your email and inother places, and now, all of a
sudden, you're like it's easyfor your brain.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
It does feel freeing, right.
It feels like a weight has beenlifted off.
When you get all of thisorganized and then when someone
asks you to find something, youneed to look at something,
you're like, oh, I think I knowwhere it is, instead of being
like, okay, give me 15 minutes.
I got to dig.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Totally, and pretty soon you're going to be like do
you want me to share my screenwhile I find it, because my
files are color coded and andthey look a bit wait, you're
going a little too far, I don'tknow about that.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
No, I.
And they look at me wait, you're going a little too far, I
don't know about that.
No, I'm just kidding.
I'm just kidding.
No, that's amazing.
Yeah, then by that time, you'relike so proud of it.
You want to show everyone thatyou actually organized it.
I think that's so cool.
But, yeah, I love that.
Operations, marketing, mycontent, education and then
stuff from for your clients.
Yes, that's so good.
Yeah, I'm gonna.
I'm gonna be taking this ontoday.
Well, what I think is so coolis that you didn't start out as

(21:08):
a digital organizer.
You were actually a homeorganizer.
Tell us about that.
I think it's so interesting formy listeners, especially
because you're all businessowners, or soon to be, and your
business will and can evolvebased on your skills.
So I think this is a cool storyand I would love for you to
share it.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Yes, I love hearing people's stories.
So I started out when myyoungest daughter I have four
kids started preschool and Istarted thinking, you know, I'm
going to help people getorganized because they would say
, like I can't go on a play date, I can't go to the park because
I got to clean my house orwhatever, right, and so I'm like
, let's get organized.

(21:44):
So I was just started helpingpeople in their homes and
offices and every part of theirlife.
You can imagine I've helpedsomeone organize.
I developed my five-step spasm.
We can talk more about that, but I developed those steps.
Then I started speaking on thetopic of organization and
productivity.
So back when we didteleconferences, I had classes

(22:07):
on that and then, slowly, youknow, got on Zoom, had classes
and then in 2018, I just knewit's such a physical job, like
it's a big physical job whenpeople are needing help with
that, and so I'm like what am Igoing to do after this?
And I went and stuff, and so Istarted doing that online.

(22:48):
I started getting clientsonline and helping them and as I
grew my own business like Idon't know I never organized a
digital you know computerbusiness before and I'm like
this is hard, like this is messy.
I don't know where anything is.
I needed to use the steps that Itaught people in their homes

(23:10):
and apply them into my ownbusiness, and then I started
figuring things out.
I started learning, like, howto simplify it so much so I run
my business from four dashboardsand it's so simple, and I use
my bookmarks bar to findeverything I need, and it's so
easy, and I'm like if peoplejust knew this, it would be so

(23:32):
helpful, especially people thathadn't been organizing for 15
years.
You know, right, right, Ialready knew how to do it.
It was just a space, and sothen I started helping coaches
and business owners organizetheir business online, like the
back end of their business, andI just love it.
I love thinking that they cando what they are gifted at and

(23:55):
what they love and make animpact in the world just because
I can give what I'm good at tothem and help them get their
business organized.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
What I'm good at to them and help them get their
business organized Wow, andthat's so cool how it evolved,
like you were actually doing thephysical work and I can relate
to that too, because a lot of mylisteners know I had online
gift boutiques and in the verybeginning, when I was a lot
younger in your like 2000 up to2003, we were doing a lot of
shows like vendor shows andtaking our merchandise and
schlepping all the bins and itwas like physical do and it took

(24:26):
the whole weekend and all thisstuff and you start kind of
realizing you know, maybe Idon't want to do this piece of
it forever.
So I can relate to that.
Where you're like a physicaljob, I can only imagine helping
people organize their homes howmuch that actually is and
sorting and like purging and allthe stuff you're talking about.
I can't imagine.
And so I think it's really coolthat you saw this need and it

(24:50):
was timely for what is happeningin the world, that we're all
becoming more digital beings.
We're going to all be AI bots,I'm sure, by the end of it.
No, I'm just kidding, but youknow how everything is just
progressing and that we have tobe smarter about how we run our
businesses from the digitalperspective, and so I think
that's so cool.
And what I think it's neat too, that you just pointed out and

(25:12):
for everyone listening as wellis to think about how your gifts
are being used to better livesfor other people out there,
whatever that is.
And so Tracy's gift is to helpwith the organization and
keeping it simple, obviously, and making it very intuitive so
we're not wasting all this time, energy and money in our life
while we run our business andyou're doing that too and

(25:33):
whatever you are offering yourbusiness whether it's products
that bring joy to people or thathelp organize or save time or
save money or help relationshipsrealize that your gifts can be
used for greater, and I thinkthat's really neat that you used
for greater, and I think that'sreally neat that you share that
, tracy.
I think that's so important.
So tell us about so you helppeople.
Do it Like I want to hear moreabout exactly what you do.

(25:54):
So you go in and do you helpthem one-on-one, do you do a
group program or how do you doit to really help people get the
most benefit from your services?

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Yes, I have three ways that I help people.
One of them is one-on-one.
Some people are just like Idon't want to join anything, I
don't want to follow anything.
So we do one-on-one work andit's totally customizable to
what they need and it could be acombo of business and life or
home or whatever.
I do all of that.
Then I have organized LifeAcademy, which is in its fifth

(26:24):
year, and that's something Istarted with normal people, as I
call them, like non-businessowners, although some of them
are my business owners.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
We are the crazy people, aren't we.
There's normal people, there'snot those, and there's all of us
.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
And that's a year-long program when we go
through our whole entire homeand I have declutter calendars
and routines that we're kind ofimplementing, but it's all about
the home and life.
And then I have Organized CoachAcademy, which is business
organization, and in thatthere's six modules where we
work on their identity and whatthey think about themselves.

(27:00):
We work on their digitalorganization, organizing all the
assets that they have in theirbusiness, organizing their time
and organizing the processesthat they have and documenting
those and then organizing for alaunch, like getting ready.
Okay, we're here to make money, obviously, and we want a
repeatable process for makingmoney, whatever that might look

(27:23):
like.
So we focus on those six areasand that's kind of a hybrid.
It's a course that you getlifetime access to right now and
I have two calls a month inthere an implementing call and a
Q and a call.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
That's amazing.
So that's so neat how you tookyour business online.
Not only are you teaching howto stay organized digitally, but
also that you took yourbusiness online and you really
are providing online programs sopeople anywhere around the US
can or worldwide, for thatmatter can I know?

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Someone just joined from the UK and one from
Australia just last weekend.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
That is so cool.
So I'm like it's so fun, that'sso neat.
And I'm like it's so fun, that's so neat.
And how did they find you?

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Well, I don't know that for sure.
I've reached out and asked them.
I haven't.
I don't know if I've heard backyet.
Yeah yeah, I'm thinking from apodcast.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Okay, yeah, but I'm not sure.
Yes, so tell us, when did youstart your podcast?
Share a little about that.
Oh, in 20.
Well, two years ago I started,ok, and I actually, though, had
a podcast back in 2014.
Oh, that's right, I forgot.
You told me that before.
I mean, that is crazy, 2014.

(28:32):
You are a massive dinosaur inthe podcast world.
Yes, like before podcasts werepodcasts.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Yes, it was so fun.
My friend and I did it togetherand it was like around home
organization and it was.
I was the professionalorganizer and she was the
clutter-free wannabe and weinterviewed, like Peter Walsh
was on our podcast.
And so and if anybody knowsorganization he was I don't even
know some home sweep thing oncable.

(28:57):
Know some home sweep thing oncable.
But anyway, I mean, we had somuch fun we called it our radio
show, but we did that for a yearand then she went on to do
other things and I kind of wentback to my business.
But right now the OrganizedCoach podcast has been I've been
doing it for two years thismonth, wow.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
That's so exciting.
And you just started it on yourown and were like I'm doing
this, I'm starting to podcast, yes, yeah, you think of your
long form content that you wantto do and and you, you know me
thinking about that, what wouldbe easier?

Speaker 3 (29:32):
And I wanted to keep talking about my concepts and
learning and just being able toverbalize them and it was like
it's that, or YouTube, orblogging, and I'm like, ah,
let's do it.
I mean, I already did a podcast, so, yeah, I kind of know how
to talk a little bit.
That makes it easier.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
I know, speaking of that, I was going to ask you
that like kind of how younarrowed it down, because a lot
of my listeners have theirbusinesses, that they're trying
to get growing and they're like, okay, how do I do this?
Do I do stuff locally?
Do I speak?
Do I do local networking, or doI just go all in on Instagram?
Do I build a YouTube channel?
Do I start a podcast?
For me, it was pretty obviouswhat I wanted to do with the

(30:09):
podcast and I was just curiousfor you I know you've already
had a podcast, so maybe that wasthe obvious choice but did you
consider or try other methodsbefore you jumped into the
podcast and what happened?

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Well, I think back when I was organizing in
people's homes, I startedspeaking locally and that was
huge.
I grew my email list fromspeaking.
So I think that's so such avital area If your ideal client,
if you can find them locallyand speak to them, or even now
online, like I still speak inpeople's groups and memberships

(30:43):
and as the expert guest thatcomes in and teaches, and so
that's such a valuable resource.
So speaking, but then yeah, Imean with my online business.
I think for me it's networkingme, it's networking being in a

(31:05):
group and being super active sothat I meet people and I'm seen
as the expert, I guess, and myname stays in front of them if
they ever need help.
That and my podcast areprobably my two biggest
resources.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Yeah, that's great info.
And when you say being in agroup, what do you mean by that?

Speaker 3 (31:17):
Well, even if it's a paid group like if I'm paying a
coach who has a group or amembership or whatever make sure
I'm active, like make sure I'mgiving value and asking
questions and showing up tocalls, because I I mean I this
is my thought I always getclients, not that I'm trying to

(31:39):
get clients, but that I ambuilding relationships and my
ideal if my ideal client isthere, I want to be showing up
and giving value.
So, that works and that worksfor me, but also like I'm in a
networking group and I'm evenconsidering like going on a
retreat that has my idealclients there and building

(32:01):
relationships in that way.
So it's been fun like this.
You know, I focused on ads at atime in my business and I still
have one of my ads running now,but this year I'm kind of
focusing on connecting andbuilding relationships and stuff
.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
So it's fun.
Ads is tricky.
I find ads very tricky.
It's like do you go in withcold audience, Do you go with
warm people that already knowyou and you're trying to
leverage that and the cost.
But I think nothing beats realconnection, Like you're saying.
I think nothing beats that.
I love that.
You've got kind of this web ofthings that you're doing that
are bringing people in and Ithink that's awesome and you've

(32:42):
been in business.
So you've been in businesssince 2018, but you started the
podcast two years ago.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Am I right?
Well, yes, been in businesssince 2008.
Been a coach since 2018.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, and you were certified
life coach as well Is that right?

Speaker 3 (32:58):
Yes, that's.
My certification is from thelife coach school.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Oh, that's so neat.
Yeah, I've heard about that.
People seem to really reallylike it, that's an amazing thing
.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
Yes, it was really good.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
Yes, and when you decided to get your life
coaching certification, how didyou think that that was going to
integrate into your business?
Like, what was your vision forthat?

Speaker 3 (33:16):
for that, Well, first , when I decided that, like I
found her podcast BrookeCastillo was the owner and I
found her podcast and loved it,joined her group and then just
knew, like this is what I wantto do, that's going to integrate
and help clients that I alreadyhave, like I could keep my
business going in the samedirection with my email list

(33:37):
that I had.
But I remember trying to decideif I should do it.
It was a ton of money and wehad four kids and I only like
kind of worked part time in mybusiness and so when I hit that
button, like I literally thoughtI was going to throw up and
like submitted my payment andstuff.
It was such a scary thing andthe thought that I kept thinking

(34:00):
was of my payment and stuff.
It was such a scary thing andthe thought that I kept thinking
was I am 100% all in on this.
I will make my money back andmore, and I'm 100% all in.
I just kept saying that tomyself.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
For a week I felt so sick and so scared.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I canunderstand that.
So that gives you getting thatcertification.
Does that help you deal withthe things like identity and
things that we do to kind ofsabotage ourselves?
What do you see is the way thatit integrates into helping your
clients?

Speaker 3 (34:28):
Yes, that definitely the identity that they have.
And like when you have thosethoughts that you're messy and
you were told that your wholelife, that you are a messy
person and you know, you eventell yourself that and you laugh
about it and say it out loudthat behind the scenes is just a
hot mess or whatever.
All of those thoughts like howdo we untangle that?

(34:50):
Because we have to untanglethat to become a different
person, that to become theperson that is able to have an
organized business, and so wehave to be able to untangle that
, build some new things into ourmind and then support those so
that we can continue to believethat until it all becomes like

(35:11):
this is just who I am.
It is obvious now, and it'sbeen a step-by-step process and
it's obvious and now I am freein my mind and all that clutter
of all those thoughts now it'sno longer there.
All my energy can go into myclients and can go into creating
content and creating programsthat help make you money and

(35:35):
grow your business.
And so yeah, all of thatidentity work really does come
from my certification, becausebefore that it's kind of funny.
Before that I really thoughtlike people couldn't get
organized unless I was therewith them.
I'm like this person is nevergoing to get organized unless
I'm there.

(35:55):
And so when I started my onlinelike helping people get
organized just online and me notbeing with them I was like I
don't know if they're ever goingto be able to do it.
But we coached, we saw whattheir blocks were, their mental
blocks.
We, you know, I helped themcreate a plan and then they did.

(36:16):
I mean it even.
It was so awesome to see Likeit was, yes, it works.
Like people really can do itwhen they know why they couldn't
do it before, because of whatthey're believing about
themselves.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Yeah, I think it's fascinating and just thinking
about you having those beliefsabout them, yes, is a whole
nother thing that you'rethinking, oh, they can't do it
and it almost has.
It seems like it's made yougrown and you realize that when
someone is empowered and youhave that gift of empowerment,
they can actually make thatchange and you're like holy cow.

(36:54):
It's even more drive for us touse our gifts and to show up for
them, right.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
Because we don't know what they're capable of.
And to coach deeply Like, yes,the deeper, the more time I take
to coach the mindset and notthat I tend to be an action
person Like I'm like this iswhat you need to do, this is how
you do it.
Like I'll give you all thepractical, but definitely I have

(37:20):
to make myself stop and think.
Okay, I'm hearing this thoughtwhat are you believing?
Let's untangle that and thenlet's build something.
What else?
What other area of your life canwe look at where you really
were organized or are organized?
You just don't even realize it.
And it's so cool because almosteveryone I talk to and work

(37:43):
with has an area of their life, even if it's like meal planning.
They're pretty good at mealplanning.
Or they take care of their kids.
Like they have their kids toall their activities.
Like you have to be organizedenough to be able to do that.
Or they got a degree or theygot a certification or whatever.
Like they're organized in somearea of their life.
And we kind of pull some ofthose beliefs and thoughts into

(38:06):
their business and get it doneand how it's integrated into
your organizing business.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
And I think it's good for everyone to hear that, to
realize that it's not justsurface level of what you offer.
Right, there's something deeper.
Maybe it's a roadblock you needto get them past, or that this,
whatever they're buying fromyou, can mean so much more to
them.
And I think about it in mybusiness, just helping people
see, oh, we're not just aboutstarting a business, I'm helping
you live a more purposeful andfulfilling life through your
business and maybe the podcastas well, right.

(38:45):
And so when we dig deeper intothat, it touches people in a
different way, and I thinkthat's what's cool about your
business and your interestingsituation, because it's not like
I hear every day that anorganizer has a life coach
certification and you mightthink those are two completely
different things and they'reactually not.
You're showing that they'reactually in the same realm,

(39:06):
right?
One?
is affecting the other, and itgoes for all our relationships
in our life.
You know, arguments aren't justsurface level, they're deeper.
What?
is the meaning behind and to notcarry these identities and say
these things that are justincorrect.
And so, anyways, I just thinkit's cool, as I'm just sitting
here listening to you, I'mfascinated by that.

(39:28):
It's this interestingcombination and I think it's
really cool that you've takenyour business into current times
of digital organization andhelp you know your clients get
past these roadblocks andeverything, and then get
everything organized so they canrun their business more
efficiently and help more people, I know, yes, and one thing
that comes up when you weresaying that end part is I also

(39:51):
want people to think aboutgetting organized like a project
.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
Like they are going to attack it like a project,
they're going to set a timeframe around it and they're
going to get all thosefoundations and structures in
place and then they'll work onthe habit to keep it that way.
Like the habit part is whatkeeps you organized.
But getting organized is like, think of it like a project,

(40:19):
because some people just think, okay, I'm going to get organized
, they'll do one or two thingsand then you know, I mean it
kind of falls by the wayside andthen they right, just more
proof that they're not.
And so it having givingyourself a start and end date,
that you're going to focus onthis, like I use the 12-week
year type planning system orquarter one, you're going to
work on organization and that'sgoing to be your project for the

(40:42):
quarter.
That just seems so much lessGod, this is going to drag on
forever, right.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
You know, yeah, it's like boundaries on ourselves,
can't let things drag on.
We have to like have a deadlineand be like, okay, we got to
get this done over that amountof time, and I love that.
It's amazing Tracy.
This is so awesome.
What a fun conversation and I'mabout to get organized today.
That's all I'm saying After weget off.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
I'm getting my iced coffee.
Your deadline is 24 hours.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
I think it actually should just be a few hours.
It should be like 5 pm today.
I'm going to go get my icedcoffee.
I'm going to bring it up here.
I'm committing to myself rightnow, I'm saying it to the world.
I'm going to come up here andI'm going to get my folders
organized.
This is just an amazing quickwin, I think, for all of us.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
Yeah, to be able to do this.
Get on there and make yourfolder.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
Yes, yes.
And to realize, too, that wedon't all that aside and we can
get our businesses runningsmooth, and that's what you're
here to help us do.
So I love that.

you, follow you, listen to you.
If you want to share anything,I will have it all in the show
notes for everyone, but in casethey're listening, just to go

Speaker 3 (42:11):
cool is I have to share that.

we have Mindy, the mindsetmentor.
She helps with your identityand anytime my clients are
saying, anytime I feeloverwhelmed, I just go in there
and I use Mindy and she'strained in all of my things, so
she's in there.
I have Flo, the workflow wizard, who, when you're ready to

document some processes, you goin there and she helps you do
that, and so it's even a morefun experience because these
custom AI bots are in there tohelp you along.

happen with?

I know.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
I know You're like what is happening, but I love
that you have all thatintegrated.
