(03:22):
Well, hello friends.
How are you?
What is going on today withyour business?
I'm dying to hear, I need toknow, what have you done?
That's been really scary.
That you're proud of yourself, that you actually did it.
We should all be recognizingthese things in our business,
because I think we all feel thatinsecurity and sometimes that
lack of confidence and we'reterrified.
But I want to applaud you Ifyou are taking courageous action
today.
Shout out to one of my clients, shonda Hamilton.
She just launched her podcast, mrs Hamilton's Room, to help
(03:45):
high schoolers, and even parentsof high schoolers, go from
striving to thriving, and I'm soexcited for her.
Shonda, shout out to you.
I'm giving you a round ofapplause.
I'm so excited about herbusiness and her podcast, and
and I think we can all relate tothe fact that starting
something new is scary, but oncewe follow that tug in our soul,
(04:08):
the rewards are so great.
So I'm so proud of all of youand I'm so excited for you and I
hope you you give yourself around of applause today for what
you have accomplished.
Okay, Today we're talking aboutgetting to use your creativity,
and this is a fun topic becausea lot of us are creative in
some way or another, and many ofyou listening may be like, yes,
(04:32):
I consider myself a creative,I'm artistic or I'm a dancer or
I'm something where you'recreating stuff all the time,
right?
Others of you may not havethought of yourself as creative,
and what's really cool is thatyou are about to embark on this
journey of actually realizing apart of you that maybe you
(04:54):
didn't even know existed andmaybe that you'd never really
tapped into.
And what's cool is businessownership gets to amplify your
creative genius.
Think about that for a minute.
We get to amplify our creativegenius.
We each have a creative genius.
(05:14):
Like.
It's so funny when I sit downwith my youngest daughter, ava
she's 16, and we need to make abirthday card for someone or we
need to do something.
It is so amazing to see herlittle brain work and actually
she's not that little anymore,she's 16.
But she's always had thisreally good creative side to her
as far as making things withher hands, like crafts and cards
(05:38):
and just she can make costumesand just all kinds of things
like that.
It's so fascinating to see ourcreative you know brains at work
.
Others of you like I thinkabout my oldest daughter super
good at organizing and gettingthings in a logical way, and
that's a creative brain right.
That is a way that she gets touse her creativity right.
(06:00):
And you get to use yourcreativity every day in your
business.
There's stuff that you arecreating every single day and
you may not have realized it.
You may be thinking I offercoaching, I offer life coaching.
What am I actually creating?
Every day?
We're going to talk about thesethings because it's going to
(06:21):
free you too and it's going tobe exciting Because sometimes in
business we get caught up inthe day-to-day stuff and we
don't actually enjoy some of thecool sides of it, like the
creation side, like the thingsthat we're getting to use our
God-given gifts for in ourbusiness.
So I think it's fun to look atthese and, again, I think it
(06:43):
will bring a new spark to howyou approach your business every
day to realize that you do getto be creative every day in your
business, even though you feellike you're you're sledging
along.
Sometimes it's sledging a word,I don't know, but you feel like
you're sledging along every dayand you're kind of doing the
same thing, which is good, because that means you have a
pattern, you have somethingthat's working and you've got a
(07:04):
method to your madness.
So you should have a pattern.
There should be some sense oflike.
I'm kind of doing the samething but at the same time, I'm
going to free you today and helpyou see that you get to be
creative in what you're doing.
So let's talk about 3 ways thatyou get to be creative in your
business and again, this issuper fun.
So number 1, you get to besuper creative in your branding
(07:27):
of your business and the namingof everything.
I think this is super fun.
I love this when people arestarting their business and
they're trying to figure out, like, what's the vibe they want
to get off, give off, what's thepersonality, what do they want
to name their business?
Why are they naming them?
The business that they are, youknow?
(07:49):
What colors do they want?
What's the feeling.
I love this part of it becauseto me, it's like a baby is being
born.
It really is, because you'vehad all these ideas and this
anticipation, but then all thecreative juices are flowing and
the vision is coming to life.
It's like manifesting, it'sbecoming real, it's becoming
(08:12):
tangible.
All this stuff that you've hadin your head is now getting to
be formed into somethingtangible that you can see.
You can see a logo, you can geta feel for a brand, you can get
a feel for its energy and Ijust love it and I love branding
.
I love to look at brands that Ithink are amazing and look at
(08:35):
what they've done.
I just think it's sofascinating Like there's this
one brand of like home I don'teven know what to call it All
kinds of almost nostalgic butmeaningful home decor and gifts
which is actually similar towhat I sold in my business, but
they're a manufacturer andeverything has quotes and
(08:57):
inspirational sayings on it.
It's called Sugarboo and Co.
It's also been called SugarbooDesigns in the past.
I thought Let me see Sugarbooand Company.
Yeah, sugarboo and Co.
You'll have to go look at it.
I love their stuff.
I have some of their wall art.
They have cool journals AgainSugarboo so it's like sugar
(09:21):
S-U-G-A-R-B-O-O and Cocom Love, love, love their stuff.
Anyways, I love their branding.
Everything is cohesive, everything is on brand all the
time and they're constantlycreating cool things and to me,
this is just like a creator'sparadise.
I can't imagine working for themor being who is the person
behind this?
(09:41):
I need to look at this upbecause I'm like I think it's a
she.
She's a genius.
No-transcript.
Your business is amazing andit's beautiful and awesome.
So shout out to businesses likethat, who actually pour their
heart and soul into their namingand their branding, and what I
(10:08):
want you to realize is that youneed to do that too.
You need to put your heart andsoul into your naming and your
branding.
I love it, too, when I talk withbusiness owners and they have
some meaning behind their nameof their business.
Maybe it's about one of theirchildren, it's initials of their
family.
I've had all these things.
I've had a whole bunch ofthings.
I've had someone name theirbusiness, what their dad used to
(10:32):
say to them when they were achild, and just so many cute
things like that.
I love it.
I think all of us has a storybehind our business and you get
to use your creative brain whenyou're beginning it.
Now, one thing is you don'twant to have names for every
single thing.
That's super confusing thatpeople don't know what it is.
But for your business name, youget a little leeway here
(10:54):
because it is based on somethingthat has meaning and the name
has to match.
You don't want to give it ageneric corporate name, right?
So the naming and branding isso fun.
I think creating the feel, thevision, is so fun.
I think about interiordesigners when they walk into
someone's home and they listento your vision about your home
and then it appears and you'relike, yeah, this is exactly what
(11:17):
I wanted, like my interiordesigner.
Shout out to Laura Starzik, ifyou're listening, she was
amazing.
She did that with me andlistened to everything.
Even though she can bring manydifferent styles to life, she
listened to us and we all.
When we walk in our living roomand our kitchen, we're like it
just feels so comfortable in usand we love it.
(11:39):
Right, and that's how I want youto feel with your business, too
.
You get to do that, so makesure that you're taking time to
create the tangible things inyour business aspects of your
business that actually representmeaning and your brain behind
this.
This is part of your creativitycoming to life.
(12:02):
Okay, so allow that, allow thatto flow.
Like I know a lot of you when Italk to you before you're
getting anything started in yourbusiness, you already have this
feel that you want for yourbusiness and I challenge you
today to go with that and don'tever doubt it and to let that
flow out of you, because thatbecomes the whole branding for
(12:22):
your business, which is supercool.
So that's the first way thatyou get to use your creative
genius in your business.
The second way is that you getto use your creative genius in
crafting all that you offer.
Whether you offer products, services, programs, coaching,
anything.
You get to craft it in a waythat you're like I wish someone
would have made this for me or Iwish this was offered.
(12:45):
I don't see it out there.
This is how I think it shouldbe configured or made, or the
ingredients should be this, because no one's doing this and
I stand for this.
I want you to think abouteverything that you stand for
and how you want that to.
I don't know if the word ismanifest into your business or
(13:07):
get integrated into yourbusiness.
But I highly suggest you reallythink through the offers that
you are creating and why you arecreating them.
For many of you, it's becauseit's something that brought you
joy in your life.
For some of you, it changedyour life.
(13:28):
For some of you, it made youfeel better, made you look
better, helped you have a betterrelationship, helped you
overcome something, helped youget out of something that was
unsafe and get into a more safezone in your life.
Like, I don't know the reasoningbehind what you're offering,
but what I do know is that yourcreative brain again, even if
(13:52):
you don't think you're supercreative in the artsy sense your
creative brain needs to be used.
You need to be thinkingpersonally what would I want out
of this product or service andwhat is not out there, and what
could make this really specialor cool or amazing or worth the
money or whatever it is?
(14:13):
You get to bring out thatcreativity and create an offer
again, whether it's product, service, program, whatever it is
different from what else is outthere.
And when you do that, when youuse that creative genius to
create your offers, that's howyou create a winning offer,
because you create somethingthat stands out, that's
(14:35):
different.
That means something to people.
Create something that standsout.
That's different.
That means something to people.
Right, think about it.
What is it that makes yourproduct or service different?
And if you can't answer that, you need to pause today and
really think about.
What would I want?
What have I felt that has beenlacking?
(14:57):
What hasn't been explained tome?
What hasn't been shown to me?
What isn't out there that couldreally make a difference for
people, whether it's in a smallway, like bringing them laughter
and joy, or a big way, likehelping them deal with divorce
or, you know, placing elderlyfamily members into some type of
(15:18):
care.
Right, it could be somethingvery minor, it could be
something major that you offer, and I don't discount all of them
, because I think all of ustogether are like a really
amazing symphony.
This is what makes the world goround, and all of us are making
the world a better place insome form or fashion, right?
(15:39):
So when you're crafting youroffers, make sure that you are
tapping in to that creativity, like if I told you you could
create it in any way possible.
Forget the cost of creating ita certain way or offering it a
certain way.
What would that be that standsout that you would absolutely
(16:02):
love.
What are the qualities of theoffer that would make it a heck,
yes, for you to buy?
And you use that creativegenius in your brain and you
turn that into your product orservice offerings.
Okay, you get to create offersthat tap in to your creativity,
(16:25):
right, whether you're making aphysical product or it's an
intangible service.
Right, you get to be creativein what you're doing.
(16:49):
Stop trying to be a robot andcopy everyone else.
You get to sit there at thedrawing board and dream.
If you had a whiteboard next toyou and you could dream it.
I suggest you do it, write itout and see if this is actually
possible, and I'm pretty surethere's some way you can get
close to that dream.
If you can't actually do thedream, right, it may be so
outlandish that at this pointyou're not at the stage of
(17:11):
business to do that, but you canstart somewhere small and
that's when your creativitycreeps in, because it can go.
Oh, yeah, well, actually thereis a way.
We could just offer it likethis right now, and we could
move into something more.
It's just like me starting thataudiobook, right?
Did y'all know that I have anaudiobook.
Now it's called You're JustGetting Started and I go through
(17:31):
everything for starting andgrowing a new business.
It's the 10,000-foot view ofhow to turn your passion, skills
and God-given gifts into abusiness you love.
I started it here as it'sactually like in a private
podcast format, but it'sactually in chapters and
everything like an audiobook.
So I know that sounds weird, but that was the quickest way
(17:53):
for me to get started and tostart testing this and make sure
that creating an audiobook andall that goes into that and
working with Audible or, youknow, trying to get a writer to
help me flesh this out becauseyou kind of got to have an ebook
or a book first so that thenyou can turn it into the
audiobook.
It's a long, drawn-out processand I realized that would be a
(18:16):
cool thing to have.
I would love to have anaudiobook, but you know what?
I can't do that just yetbecause I need to go through all
these motions, using mycreativity to create all these
episodes, and then kind of I'mkind of going backwards.
I created my first audiobookand then I'm going to try to
transcribe it and then get awriter to help enhance it and
(18:37):
then go into an audiobook.
I mean I would love to do that.
Am I saying 100%?
I'm going to get to that pointwhere I have an actual audiobook
.
I don't know that.
I'm in the research phase, butI wanted to get something out
right now to begin the process, and this was my beginning.
So I get you.
If you've got something that isreally big, that would take a
(18:59):
very long time and you're justnot there yet, use your creative
brain to say how else can Imake it work?
That's what I did.
I said how else can I make itwork?
I'm going to record thechapters.
I'm not a writer.
I can speak from the heart andI already had it all organized.
And I said I'm just going toput it into like a private
podcast where people can buy itand then they can download it
(19:21):
and listen.
No, it's not in Audible orAudiobookscom, but it's a great
first step.
I was creative with that and Ialso used my creative brain to
speak this whole audiobook right.
So my creative brain is not incrafting things with my hands.
I think my creative brain worksbest when it has to work really
(19:45):
fast and do something andfigure out a way and I can speak
in a somewhat orderly fashion, but that's my creative zone.
This is my creative zone.
I love audio.
What is it for you?
(20:06):
That's your creative zone ofgenius.
And for you, you get to createan offer around it.
So remember that you get to becreative.
Don't be a bot.
Don't be copying what everyoneelse is doing.
Yes, we want to go by what ispopular in the marketplace today
and we want to tap into that, but we also want to put our own
(20:30):
spin on it.
So make sure you're using yourcreative brain as you're
crafting your offers.
So make sure you're using yourcreative brain as you're
crafting your offers.
And the third way that you getto use your creative brain is
how and where you show up toshare your business with the
world.
This is so cool to me becauseyou get to show up in ways that
(20:50):
maybe are unconventional ormaybe are different or maybe
they are common, but you've gotyour own personality.
Again, on this one, don't be abot, okay.
You are going to be someonethat is leveraging your
personality, your vibe, yourenergy, your life experience,
(21:11):
your accent, the way you talk, your sense of humor.
You're leveraging all of it,and it may not even feel
creative to you, but it actuallyis, because it's what your
brain is putting together toshare with the world.
So, for example, some of you arereally good on Instagram and
doing reels and all that.
(21:32):
I follow people that are justnaturally amazing.
I don't even think they'retrying that hard and they're
just captivating and you want towatch them, right?
You want to know what's goingon and that's cool because
they're using their yourcreative brain.
Some of you are good at, youknow, doing YouTube videos.
Maybe they're more serious.
Some of you are really good atwriting blogs and you're a very
(21:54):
interesting writer.
Some of you are really good atwriting blogs and you're a very
interesting writer.
Some of you are really goodcreatively networking with
people locally, like, you'reamazing at that and you somehow
know everyone and everythinggoing on.
And that's your creative brain.
You're able to mesh with peopleand just create connections.
You realize you're creating.
(22:14):
You're creating connections.
So don't ever doubt that you'renot a creative and that you
don't create, because youactually do.
In today's online business world, you hear about content
creators, people who createcontent.
Usually it's video, blogging,whatever.
I create content through apodcast, right, and this is my
creative brain, like I stated aminute ago.
(22:37):
But you can also be creative inhow you collaborate with other
people.
Maybe you team up with otherbusinesses and you do cool
things locally or online.
Maybe you have guests.
Maybe you have two differenttypes of product businesses that
y'all team up, have twodifferent types of product
(22:58):
businesses that y'all team up.
That's your creative brainthinking about your people and
going, oh, what would be coolfor them, what could we create
for them.
So how you show up is part ofyour creativity.
How you show up and talk aboutyour business is actually part
of your creative brain, becauseyou're creating conversation
around a topic.
(23:18):
I know you didn't think ofyourself this way and you're
like wait, what Am I actuallycreating something when I'm
creating conversation?
Yes, you are.
You're creating an energy,you're creating a tone.
You're creating conversation.
You're creating a vibe and anenergy around something.
(23:39):
You're creating meaning whenmaybe there was no meaning.
However, you show up when, where, how, on what platform?
Whatever you're doing, you getto use your creative brain and
most of you are going to have toshow up in some way.
And you could be saying I don'twant to show up in any way, I
(23:59):
just want to run Facebook ads.
Okay, do you realize thatFacebook ads are actually a
creative venture as well.
Maybe you're good atcaptivating people through ads.
Some people have a gift forthis.
A lot of people have found methrough an ad that I have, but
I'm going to be honest, I don'tthink I'm the most creative
(24:20):
person doing ads.
I'm doing something that Ithink will capture the right
people's attention, but is thatmy greatest gift?
No, but there exists people whoit is their gift, so that could
be you.
But I just want you to thinkdifferently about this.
About every way that you show upin your business, you actually
(24:41):
get to be creative.
Get to be creative about whatyou say, about what you wear,
about the words you use todescribe your business.
That is part of your creativitythat connects with the people
that you're meant to serve.
You being you is literally thebest way to connect and to
create connection and to createconversation around your
(25:08):
business niche, right.
But just know that yourcreative genius is at work every
time you show up, and it shouldbe.
It should never be blocked Ifyou want to be a certain kind of
person online and creatingcontent in a way that feels good
, that you can test it out andsee is this working?
(25:30):
You do it because that's what'sgoing to make you stand out from
the crowd, and everyone hastheir own zone of creative
genius and it's up to you tolive in that and test it to see
if it actually works to bring inyour right clients.
A lot of times it does what Ifind.
You may have to refine somethings, tweak some things, but
(25:51):
using your creativity is whatwill draw people to you.
So show up in a way that'sactually tapping into your
genius, that that's actually funfor you, whether it be online
or in person and conversationsor whatever, because that's
what's going to make you standout and make people drawn to you
that you can use your creativegenius in your business.
(26:16):
Number one is through all yournaming and branding.
Number two is in the offersthat you create.
And number three is in all theways that you show up and talk
about and share your business.
It's so awesome, how lucky andfortunate are we to get to do
this every day and I'm so proudof you.
