(03:01):
Would you be so kind to write aquick review, like super quick
y'all, it will take you no time.
You can hit the five-starrating.
Like an Apple podcast, you canjust hit five stars and that
would be amazing and you're done.
But if you have 30 seconds tojust write a quick note on what
this podcast has meant to you,or maybe an episode you liked or
something that you got out ofit, or why you listen, it would
mean the world to me.
(03:22):
So that's it On to the episode.
Well, hello friends, how are you?
How is everything going?
I am so excited to speakdirectly to all of you that are
coaches.
Maybe you're a service provider, maybe you're even some kind of
instructor or teacher, oryou're an expert in your field
(03:46):
and you're ready to help others.
Today's the day.
This is for you.
So listen up, make sure you payattention all the way through,
because I'm going to share withyou the things that are very
important for you actuallymaking money in this business.
So many of you have begun thisdream and maybe you've got a
(04:07):
full-time job, you have children, some of you are homeschooling,
some of you are taking care ofelderly parents, some of you
travel a lot, some of youvolunteer a lot all these things
and it just fascinates me thatyou're still like I am going to
pursue this dream, and what Iknow that is so awesome about
coaching and service providersand instructors and everything
(04:30):
is that you can do this on theside.
You can start this on the side.
So feel good today If you'reone of those ones that are in
the dreaming stage and maybe youhave a full-time job and a lot
of commitments.
The cool thing about this typeof business is that you get to
schedule it on your time and youreally do get to have it be
whatever you want to be.
(04:50):
I know there's so much pressurein the online world, especially
everything you see on Instagramand Facebook and YouTube and you
got to make, you know, $400billion doing this.
You need to be making a milliondollars.
I've seen some of it calm downa little bit.
It used to be way moremainstream, like in 2021, 2022.
It's calmed a little, but stillit's there, that pressure of
(05:13):
like, I have to make X amount ofmoney.
Now some of you are trying toeventually go full time with
this.
Then, yeah, the pressure isthere for you because you have
to, you know, make that income.
You have to cover what you weremaking in your past job.
Or maybe you're going to startdoing this part-time and just
take your current job part-time.
The good news is you can dothat, do this, but even better
(05:35):
news is that you're here tryingto do things right.
That is my biggest sadness witha lot of new coaches and service
providers is that some of themdon't really take it seriously.
They're not really seeking outpodcasts like this.
They're not really learningthat much.
(05:56):
They may read a book or or talkto a friend, and that's great.
You should do all those things.
But you actually have to takeit a few steps further.
You have to take this seriously.
Seriously because it will turninto a hobby very, very quickly,
and there's nothing wrong witha hobby.
I always say that Hobbies are agreat thing.
I love photography, I loveworking out, I love pickleball.
There's a lot of things that Ilove to do, but I'm here because
(06:20):
I'm creating a business.
So you have to draw a line inthe sand Like am I creating a
hobby or am I building abusiness?
What am I doing?
And if you're here to build abusiness, today is for you.
So many of you have told me thatyou've wanted to start this
business because you want morepurpose in your life and you
really want a career that isfulfilling, where you can use
(06:42):
your God-given gifts, you canmake a difference in others'
lives.
You actually feel like you'recontributing to this world,
instead of, maybe, at a jobthat's miserable.
I mean, there's nothing worsethan having to stay in a job
because you need the money, andwhat I love is that you can
start a business like this likea coaching business, service
(07:03):
business on the side, and startgetting it going.
It will give you some happinessin your life while you still
bring in your income, and thenyou can be building it up and
hopefully turn it into whateveryou want for your life.
Okay, so, again, starting acoaching business is so
rewarding, or a service business, because you're usually working
(07:23):
one-on-one with people, you'rehaving to talk to people, you're
seeing them.
You know I had online giftboutiques for years and, in fact
, my daughter is wanting to kindof learn about business and so
we are, in a very small, smallway, going to be resurrecting
InThisVeryRoomcom so you cancheck it out right now.
(07:45):
I think there's a splash pageup where you can put in your
email to get notified of when welaunch.
It's going to be very, verysmall, a way smaller version of
what we did before, but here'sthe good news again just like
what I said, I practice what Ipreach.
You can have your business, bewhatever you want.
You just got to do things rightand strategically.
So we are relaunching that.
(08:05):
But the difference in that inthe coaching business has been
pretty profound.
It really has and I'm notknocking product businesses
because I'm about to help mydaughter kind of relaunch in a
very, very small way.
And I love gifts and it's a giftboutique and I had it from.
2003 is when I first wentonline and closed it shortly
(08:29):
before starting this businessand I loved them.
But they were moretransactional.
People were ordering online.
I'm just shipping goods.
People are ordering online, I'mshipping goods.
It was fulfilling to me becauseI love cute stuff and we were
the source for like monogrammedand personalized gifts and
people would be so excited togive them to their friends,
their kids, their grandkids.
So it brought me a lot offulfillment and joy.
(08:51):
Okay so so I don't care whatyou're selling, you can find so
much joy in it and I'm sure youalready know that I'm preaching
to the choir, because some ofyou make jewelry, you make
candles, you make pottery, youhave art.
You you have products that youput your heart and soul into,
and I think it's amazing andit's very fulfilling For me.
When I started this business, itwas at a time in my life when I
(09:14):
just was like I need more, Ineed something even more
impactful, because my life wasallowing it, my kids were
getting older.
Before I had to have more of atransactional business, I
couldn't be out and about, Iwanted to be home with my three
kids.
Right Now, I have a little morefreedom, and so, you know, five
or six years ago, when Istarted this, I was like I
(09:36):
really want to create moreimpact, like I feel I just felt
it y'all in my soul that I havesomething more to give.
And I don't know if that's youtoday, that you just you know
you have more to give.
Maybe you have a part-time job,that you're doing something
similar to the business thatyou're starting, but your hands
have kind of been tied.
There's regulations, or youcan't do certain things and
you're like I should just havemy own business doing this,
(09:59):
because I know what to do and Ican do it more in the way that I
believe will help people more.
And that's why you're here andthat's why I love all of you,
because you are wanting to makea difference, you're wanting to
use your God-given gifts.
And it's so beautiful, y'allit's so beautiful.
But again, the trap for a lot ofnew coaches and service
(10:23):
providers is that it becomes ahobby, because you're thinking I
don't have all the time to doall the things you are trying to
figure out, like what exactlyam I selling and how am I
selling it?
What's the package form of it?
What's the pricing?
How do I show up?
Where do I show up?
What do I say without being aweirdo, like, how do I do this?
(10:48):
And do I need to have an emaillist?
And how do I market to people?
And you know, how do I not comeoff salesy or icky?
And how do I get people to buy?
And how do I actually build anaudience, like do I need to be
on Instagram all the time andYouTube and podcasts and what
all do I need?
I mean, the stress is real.
Can y'all hear it, as I'm justsitting there saying it?
(11:09):
Like the stress is palpable.
It's there, it's thick, it's inthe air.
It's like this Texas humiditythat we have.
It's heavy, it's heavy and alot of you are feeling that.
So here's what I'm seeing.
Okay, this is what I see allthe time, because I coach people
.
Okay, and I'm seeing exactly atground zero what is happening.
(11:31):
They've got this amazing idea.
They feel this calling in theirsoul.
They are like I'm doing this, Iwant to go for it, but I'm
scared.
And they start kind of gettingthings together and they start
kind of analyzing things andthen they get stuck in
indecision, analysis, paralysis,what website platform?
All the tech, tech causesproblems.
Then they start getting goingand they're like okay, do I
(11:54):
start a Facebook group?
Do I start a podcast?
Do I start a YouTube channel?
Like, what are all the things?
Do I do all the things?
And then for coaches andservice providers, they're like
okay, if I'm going to do thisonline, am I going to have like
a really high-end offer that'slike one-on-one or am I going to
do, like, some kind of courseor workshop?
Am I going to do live workshops?
(12:15):
Am I going to do a course?
Y'all it gets crazy.
Everyone's mulling over allthis stuff complete analysis,
paralysis.
They get stuck too in like whatwords to use when they just
want to talk to people and tellthem what they do.
It's very hard.
It is very hard when you start.
I was a weirdo when I startedthis business because I came
(12:37):
from a product business and I'mlike oh, I have an online gift
boutique.
We sell monogrammed andpersonalized gifts.
It was super easy.
I was like we do it for women, children and home.
I had my.
I never even like totallythought about it, it just came
very natural.
When I started this and I washaving to say I'm a business
coach because it was sellingmyself, all of a sudden it was
bizarre.
(12:57):
I like clammed up, like I gotweird.
I'm like they are looking at melike why is this woman talking
about herself and what she cando and how is she qualified?
Like I had all these thoughtsin my head of what people were
thinking of me and I don't knowif y'all feel this way, but when
you're selling yourself, yourown services, your own coaching.
(13:19):
It's weird and it feels likeyou're an imposter.
I know they talk about impostersyndrome, but you do.
You feel like you're notqualified, even though you are
qualified.
I don't know if y'all have that, though you are qualified.
I don't know if y'all have that.
The majority of my clients havethat, not all of them, but they
still are like what do I say, what do I do?
If they haven't been in thisindustry before Now, if someone
(13:41):
has been doing this as a job andthen they start their own
business doing it, usuallythey're a lot more confident and
they already know what to say, they know how to deal with these
clients.
But people like me who were likenow doing something new, it's
weird, you know it's weird, andso many will struggle in the
beginning.
They do and they end up drawingthis out for months and months
(14:05):
and even years y'all Years Likegoing well, I'm a coach, do I
create a $7 offer?
Do I create a group program?
How do I do this?
And they get stuck in all thismind drama on the pricing and
what they're doing and whattheir method's going to be and
the whole thing, and it draws itout, y'all, and they end up
(14:26):
then not making money quicklyand it gets very hard to keep
doing this and to keep facingtheir family.
This is what people tell me.
They have a hard time facingtheir family because their
family has given up time withthem and all that so you could
pursue your dream, right.
But maybe you've got a businessI mean a job and other things
(14:46):
and you're now not spending asmuch time with your family and
you feel embarrassed that you'renot making as much money.
I don't know if this is you, but, but this is real.
These are the real strugglesthat I see.
So my question to you today ishow in the world are you going
(15:08):
to build this career, whether itbe part time, maybe it be it's
micro time we hear the word likemicro-dosing and micro-this and
micro-that, even if it's amicro-business.
How are you going to make moneydoing this if you don't get all
(15:29):
this stuff figured out?
Get all this stuff figured out, like if you don't get clear
about what you're selling andhow you're going to actually
sell it without being a weirdo, without working 40 hours a week,
without spending a ton of money, without the hustle culture,
(15:51):
without having to be on everysingle platform or selling your
soul to social media.
How are you going to do this?
If you don't figure this out?
How are you going to build thiscareer?
How are you going to make thismoney?
How are you going to impact thelives of the people you know
you're called to serve?
So many of you tell me you feelcalled today is a wake-up call.
(16:13):
How are you going to do thissooner than later If you're
sitting here going?
Yeah, that's me.
I'm waffling between some ofthese ideas, my pricing, what
I'm saying, where I'm showing up, what do I do?
I'm trying to build an audience.
How do I do this?
If this is you today, realizethat the problem probably is
(16:34):
your whole offer, and when I sayoffer, I mean actually what
you're selling and how you'reselling it.
Your whole offer is not alignedwith you.
It's not aligned with you yet,Yet, yet, okay, it's not aligned
with this season of your life.
Y'all know this is a hot buttonfor me.
It has to align with how muchtime you actually have right now
(16:57):
.
It has to align with who youactually are best suited to
serve and it has to align withwhat the people are willing to
pay for right now.
So, aligning with your seasonof life, aligning with who
you're actually best suited toserve and aligning with what
people will actually give moneyfor.
(17:18):
You have to get it aligned.
You can no longer keep doingstuff that is completely out of
your comfort zone, that does notmatch this time in your life.
You're starting group programs.
You're starting all thesethings and you don't have time.
You have a full-time job or youmay be in the stage because I
have clients where they areretiring from teaching or other
jobs and their spouses areretired now, and then their
(17:40):
spouses are like what the heckare you doing?
You're spending 40 hours a weekin your computer in the house
trying to make group programsthat do all this stuff when you
didn't really have an alignedoffer that would make you the
money that would make it asuccess for you right now, at
this season of your life.
And everybody's definition ofsuccess is different, Different.
(18:01):
Okay, making 10K to one personmay be a huge deal and a huge
win and worth all of the time, and making 10K for another
person may be not worth it.
They would never do this forjust 10K, right?
I'm just saying that, like youhave to realize.
Stop all of the comparison andsaying that my business should
(18:25):
be this or that.
It's almost like the weight onthe scale that we all have
compared ourselves to, or thesize of jeans, or it's silly.
Everyone's genetics isdifferent, everyone's built
different.
Their choices for food aredifferent.
Like, let's stop.
Your business needs to bealigned with you, so something
(18:46):
is out of whack.
Either you're trying to do toomuch that is not aligned with
the season in your life and it'staking too much time and that's
why you're taking a long timeto start making money, or maybe
it is that it's not actuallyserving the people that you want
to serve, like it's somethinghas not been settling right and
you keep kind of going back andforth and back and forth and
(19:08):
you're like, oh my gosh, I'm notactually targeting the people
that I meant to serve.
We call that your niche, right, your target market.
And then the next question isam I actually doing things to
and providing things that peopleactually want to pay for right
now?
I mean, these are the bigquestions.
(19:31):
This offer has to be aligned.
You have to know what you'reselling and how you're going to
sell it, and it has to be in themost simple form, as you can
hear from me talking about allthis stuff.
It's complicated, it'sexhausting what I'm, what I've
been talking about.
Right, because we have made itexhausting.
(19:52):
I made it exhausting when Istarted I I fumbled over words.
I was like not totallyconfident.
Like why are people going tolisten to me on this podcast and
and hire me for coaching?
Are they really going to giveme money?
Like I could not believe it.
The first person that boughtfrom me, I bawled my eyes out.
Like somebody is actuallypaying this, paying money for me
(20:15):
to talk to them about theirbusiness.
Like I couldn't believe it.
But it took a little while.
It took a little bit.
It wasn't right out of the gate.
Some things were not totallyaligned.
They weren't clear to me andthey weren't clear to the people
that I was meant to serve.
So today you have to askyourself yourself what feels out
(20:37):
of alignment, what is notfeeling right?
Why is this taking so long?
Am I doing things that are notaligned with me?
If this is you today, I want youto know that I am here to help
you.
This is what I do for people.
I don't walk you into 12 weeksof coaching or anything like
that.
I help you.
Get on a call with me and let'spound this out for about an
(20:58):
hour.
Let's go through what you'vealready done, where you're at
what's feeling heavy, and let'stry to work through it in the
most simple and aligned formpossible.
You can scroll down in the shownotes right now.
If this is you okay and there'sa contact form, you can just
fill it out.
There's a few questions there, just so I can understand your
(21:21):
business and what stage you'reat and I can reply back and let
you know if I think I canpossibly help you or not.
I'm going to be honest with you.
I'm not here to waste anybody'stime with coaching.
I'm not here to take anybody'smoney who doesn't actually need
coaching.
Okay, I know that you all arelike me.
You want to run your businessesin integrity, and so that's
(21:45):
what I do.
So if you do that and then youemail back, maybe then we could
jump on a free little call justto like better understand your
business and maybe for you toget some quick clarity on the
next steps that you need to takefor your specific business.
Right, and maybe coaching is anoption for you, even one hour.
You know, work with clients, like I'll do an hour here and an
(22:06):
hour there whenever they needme.
So I'm here today to tell youthat your business has to be a
business.
If you're a new coach, if you'rea new service provider, you are
at risk.
You are at risk of this turninginto a hobby because you can
easily drag it out.
You can drag it out for allthose reasons that I mentioned
above, like not knowing exactlyhow you're going to package your
(22:29):
offer and trying to do too manyoffers and too many things
right now, and you can get stuckon things like how to show up
and what to say, like where doyou show up?
How often do you show up?
Do you have to do social media?
No, but anyways, you know thisis what I'm saying.
It can be structured to you.
It has to be aligned.
It has to be aligned and youhave to take this seriously
(22:52):
because, if not, you will riskthis dragging out month after
month.
You missing time with yourfamily, you missing time doing
things, being very frustrated, maybe even crying, maybe even
doubting if you have what ittakes to do this.
(23:13):
I'm telling you now if you havefelt a calling in your soul, if
you have known that this is whatyou wanted to do to help people
, even if it's just in a microway okay, it's a micro business
Even if it's just somethingsmall, then you owe it to
yourself and you owe it to thosepeople that you yearn to help.
To take this seriously.
(23:34):
And when I say take thisseriously, I don't mean
investing a ton of money, Idon't mean having a bazillion
hours of coaching, I don't meanhaving a bazillion hours of
packages or types of packages.
No, what I mean is you take itseriously, you do it
strategically, in a simple andaligned way.
And again, if you're sittinghere going that sounds great,
(23:55):
but I don't know how to do thatthen reach out through my
contact form down below and letme see if I might be able to
help you.
If I can, I'll tell you.
If I can't, I may have someoneI could recommend you to.
Okay, I don't want youstruggling.
I want you to be able to havethe career that you dream of, to
(24:16):
impact the lives that you havedreamed of impacting and to make
the money that will make youhappy.
Whatever that is, there's nojudgment in this zone.
Whatever it is, y'all know whenI started, I just want to make
$500 a month.
That's it, and little did Iknow what it would grow into.
So that's how you start, youget going and then you start
(24:37):
getting these big goals.
But you have to start simple.
If everything's so complicatedand you are struggling and you
can't make decisions and you'rein analysis, paralysis and all
this is going on and it's addingstress to your life, I mean,
I'm just I'm getting stressedout just talking about this
because I see it.
But I want you to know is thatthere is hope for you.
(24:58):
Simple and aligned offer.
And what is an offer?
It's what you sell and howyou're selling it.
It's the whole package.
It's not just I'm sellingcoaching, it's all of it, all
the words you use, the peoplethat you're targeting, how
you're going to show up.
We can work on that.
This is what I do for peoplelike you.
Don't struggle anymore, don'tlet this drag out.
(25:19):
It is time to start living yourdream and I'm so, so excited
for you.
You're going to make adifference in so many people's
lives.
So that's it.
Thank you so much for beinghere.
You know you can scroll down inthe show notes right now.
Reach out if you feel stuck.
Otherwise, if you're like orlike okay, I got it.
I need to get this aligned, Ineed to do it simple, and if you
know how to do it on your own, then go make it happen.
(25:41):
I can't wait to watch yoursuccess.
So that is it.
Y'all have a great day Untilnext time.
Bye now.
Speaker 2 (25:51):

be over.

not have to end here.
