Speaker 1 (00:02):
All right, hey there, welcome back to the She's on
Fire podcast, dedicated tohelping women break free from
their fears, bring out thatfierce woman inside and build
successful online businesses.
I'm your host, jen Gaines, andtoday we are going to be diving
into a topic that's absolutelycrucial for your journey as an

(00:28):
entrepreneur.
All right, stepping out of yourcomfort cocoon.
I know a lot of people call itthe comfort zone, but I've
always said it's the comfortcocoon because it kind of keeps
you wrapped up and feeling safe, right.
So you know, as women, we often, often find ourselves trapped.
You know, within the confinesof these comfort cocoons, of

(00:51):
your comfort zone, whatever youwant to call it right, we're
conditioned from growing up thatwe need to be polite and modest
and and really play it safe andnot be too loud and not be too
much and not be too this and toothat.
Right, but here's the truth.
Here's the truth.
There is no way to have athriving, successful business

(01:16):
without breaking free from thatcocoon of comfort.
All right, those two worlds youknow being really successful
and being in a comfort cocoonwhere you're safe, you don't
have to fear things, you knowyou're being polite, you're not
stepping out.
Those two worlds don't go handin hand.

(01:37):
All right, they don't worktogether as hard as that is to
hear and to understand.
So let's really talk about thefear of standing out.
Many women struggle with thisbecause they worry about what

(01:57):
others are going to think.
I struggled with this for along time.
They fear judgment, criticism,rejection.
But here's the thing I want youto really know In order to
create a business that trulystands out, you have to really
be willing to embrace youruniqueness and really let your

(02:21):
voice be heard and shine yourlight brightly.
So how do we overcome this fear?
I'm not going to say it's easy,okay.
I'm not going to sugarcoat itand say, oh, it's just so easy.
Just, we'll overcome it andfeel fear and do it anyway,
right?
No, it's not easy, but it'sworth it, and it really starts

(02:44):
with shifting your mindset.
So, instead of viewingsomething out you know, sorry
instead of viewing standing outas something to be feared, see
it as an opportunity for growthand success.
Right, because really that'swhere growth happens.

(03:06):
When you stand out, when youput yourself out there, when you
come out of that comfort cocoon, when you look at it as an
opportunity for growth, as anopportunity to be successful,
you make that mindset shift.
You need to remember that theworld needs to hear what you

(03:30):
have to offer.
You have a unique perspective, skills and talents.
We need to get you apart fromother people because none of us
are the same.
We don't all have the sameexperiences And even if we have
a similar experience, you'veexperienced it in a different
way, from your own uniqueperspective.

(03:52):
So you absolutely have veryunique experiences to offer this
world.
So let's talk about the issue oflow confidence, because I had
very low confidence at one time.
I know a lot of my clients havetoo.
You can fix that.

(04:14):
You can work on that.
Imposter syndrome can creep inand really make us doubt
ourselves, our abilities, ourworthiness, and this can happen.
You can have a million-dollarbusiness, a multi-million-dollar
business.
That can still creep in attimes.

(04:36):
It's what you do in those timesand the mindset shifts that you
make that are going to help yoube successful.
Confidence isn't something thatyou're just born with.
It's really something that youcultivate.
Stepping out of your comfortcocoon is an act of courage.

(04:57):
It's not an act of confidence.
It's actually an act of courage.
And each step you take willbuild the confidence.
So you've got to start byacknowledging your
accomplishments and reallycelebrating your wins.
I talk about this with myclients all the time.
They don't even have to bethese huge, big wins, but every

(05:23):
day celebrate a win, even ifthey seem really small.
When you affirm your wins, thathelps to increase your
confidence.
And I always say this Surroundyourself with supportive
community of like-minded people.

(05:45):
All right, this is yourabundance team, let's say, who
can lift you up and reallyremind you of your greatness,
especially if something is goingwrong, especially if you have
that imposter syndrome seepinginto your brain.

(06:05):
If you surround yourself withlike-minded people, if you
surround yourself with acommunity of people who are
after the same journey, doingthe same things, they're going
to know what it feels like.
And I want you to remember it'sokay to feel uncomfortable.

(06:27):
I know nobody wants to feeluncomfortable.
I know nobody wants to feelvulnerable, but it's normal.
When you step out of thatcocoon and you start taking
these little steps, it's goingto feel uncomfortable Again,
reframe that thinking.
That uncomfortable feeling isgrowth.

(06:49):
That uncomfortable feeling isgrowth towards success.
The discomfort is a sign thatyou're growing and pushing
yourself to new heights.
Embrace it and lean into it.
Keep reminding yourself thatyou have what it takes to

(07:14):
succeed.
This is why mentorship andagain being in a community of
people after the same things canhelp so much.
And lastly, i want to justexplore the connection between
stepping out of your comfortcocoon and really building a

(07:36):
thriving business, because intoday's age being online, having
an online presence is crucial.
Doing things that you've neverdone before online it's crucial.
It allows you to have anaudience anywhere in the world.

(07:58):
Connect with any kind of peoplein the world.
I have clients all over theworld.
My mentor has clients all overthe world.
Build a community around youruniqueness, around that personal
brand.
Building an online businessit's going to take risks, it's

(08:23):
going to take new strategies andit's going to take putting
yourself out there.
These actions can feeluncomfortable right at first,
but they are essential stepstowards building a successful
business and you can do it.
You can do it.

(08:43):
So I really want to challengeyou today.
I want you to reflect on yourcomfort cocoon and identify just
a small step that you can taketoday to start breaking free
from it.
It could be sharing a storyonline, sharing your origin

(09:07):
story online.
Where have you been?
What have you done?
Where are you at now.
Maybe it's reaching out to apotential collaborator.
That could be scary, right.
That could be something thatstretches you outside that, but

(09:30):
it's also something that's goingto help you grow.
So think about the littlethings that you can do right now
, today and tomorrow, and thenthe next day, and keep stepping
out further and further andfurther so you continue to grow.
Less lies just beyond thatcomfort cocoon.

(09:52):
It's really where you're goingto find your true potential.
It's where you're going to findyour growth and really your
path to fulfilling yourself andhaving that thriving online
business that you really want.
So get after it now.

(10:15):
Don't wait, don't procrastinate.
Today is the best day to start, and I hope that you found these
insights valuable.
I hope you find them inspiringAnd I want you to remember you
have the power to overcome yourfears and step boldly into those

(10:39):
dreams that you want.
