Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, hey, welcome
back to the she's On Fire
podcast, where we ignite yourconfidence, crank up your
presence and really set yourbusiness and your life on fire
from the inside out.
I'm Jen, and today, oh mygoodness I am giving you some
(00:21):
real secrets to speaking likethe queen that I know you want
to be.
So listen, I know so many ofyou are holding back.
You may be holding back.
Maybe you're afraid of whatpeople will think.
Maybe you're worried your voicedoesn't matter, or how dare you
(00:43):
are somebody you know, somebodythat's wanting to speak out.
Maybe you're afraid.
That's what you're you knowpeople are going to say.
Here's the thing I really wantyou to understand.
I know who you really are.
I know that you want to speakout.
I know that you want toconfidently deliver your message
(01:05):
.
I know that about you.
I know you don't want to sit onthe sidelines.
I know you want to be out thereand impacting the world, and I
know you want to be making moneydoing it.
And again, there is nothingwrong with that.
Here is the truth.
Your voice is powerful, yourwords can create movements, and
(01:28):
today I'm going to teach you howto step into your power and own
the stage like a boss.
Now the stage might beliterally stepping up on stage.
Maybe you're terrified of that, that's okay.
Maybe the stage is virtual.
Maybe you're terrified of that, that is okay, because what I
(01:56):
know about you is that you trulywant to do it, and when you
have that want and that fireinside, we just need to bring it
out of you.
So I want you to grab a coffee, grab your favorite drink,
whatever it is, and grab ajournal, and let's do this.
But here's what I want you toremember first this isn't about
just sitting down and journaling.
(02:17):
This is literally aboutunderstanding and taking action
on it, because without action, your life stays exactly the same
.
All right.
So the first thing I want youto think about is the energy
shift that you need.
Confidence isn't about beingperfect.
It's about being prepared andbeing present.
(02:39):
One of the biggest myths aboutspeaking whether it's on stage,
virtual, whatever it is, inmasterclasses, in you know, a
challenge, whatever it is one ofthe biggest myths is that
confident speakers are naturallygood and that is so far beyond
(03:00):
the truth.
It's so far beyond the truth.
It's so far not factual.
The fact is, confident speakerspractice, they prepare and,
(03:23):
most importantly, they decide toshow up with energy.
They decide to show up.
So before I go on stage or hita live any of that stuff what I
do is an energy reset, all right.
So there's different things thatI do.
Oftentimes and my clients canattest to this before I hit a
(03:43):
live, I'll slap my handstogether and I'll start rubbing
that energy, warming myself up,warming my body up, feeling that
energy flow through my body.
Sometimes I'll close my eyeswhile I'm doing this.
There are times I'll jump upand down.
I'll jump up and down, breathing deep.
(04:09):
I'll even tell myself this isgoing to be the best speech
delivery whatever that I've evergiven.
Because here's the deal If youdon't believe it, your audience
isn't going to believe it either.
You have to shift your energyinto that type of believing.
You have to believe in yourselfand you need to shift your
(04:36):
energy.
So I want you to decide rightnow that you are the most
engaging, that you are the mostengaging, inspiring speaker that
your audience has ever heard.
I want you to shift into this.
(04:56):
I talk about in my business, with my clients, with my
audience, a lot.
I talk about stepping into thatidentity.
I have a fierce identityframework that I give to people
because it's so powerful to dothis.
So decide right now.
You are the most engaging, inspiring speaker that your
audience has ever heard, and Iwant you to step into this with
(05:17):
me.
Say it with me.
I am a powerful speaker.
My voice is magnetic.
People need to hear what I haveto say, and guess what?
That is the truth.
People do need to hear exactlyonly what you have to say.
Does everybody?
No, and you don't want that, right?
(05:39):
I don't want to speak toeverybody, to everybody, but
there are people who need tohear what I have to say, and to
them my voice is magnetic.
So that's the first step inthis.
Next, I want you to speak to oneperson.
All right, you speak to oneperson.
(06:00):
You're going to influence many.
Here's what trips people up.
They try to talk to everyone.
I just talked about this.
They try to talk to everyone.
I just talked about this.
They try to talk to everyone.
But the secret the bestspeakers talk to one person at a
time, one.
They're not trying to talk tothe many.
When I speak, I picture myideal person sitting right in
(06:25):
front of me, like we're having aconversation.
I imagine her, what shestruggles with what her dreams
are made of and I speak directlyto her heart and soul.
I don't try to talk to 50different people, I'm speaking
to the one and this is soimportant.
(06:46):
The next time you're on a live,on stage, maybe making content,
making a reel on TikTok,whatever it is, imagine you're
talking to your best idealclient ever over coffee.
Keeping it real, keeping itpersonal and, trust me, the
(07:09):
right people, they're going tofeel it deep in their soul.
They're going to feel that.
Are you understanding this?
They will feel that.
And step three, or secret threeand this is a big one, because a
(07:29):
lot of people try to rushthrough their words.
They just try to get it donebecause they're afraid.
There's fear, right, whenyou're afraid, you often start
speaking faster, slow down, slowdown.
Actually, I should say thiswhen you're afraid, you start
speaking faster, slow down, slowdown.
Actually, I should say thiswhen you're afraid, you start
speaking faster, and when you'reexcited, you start speaking
(07:49):
faster, because those two typesof emotions collide.
That's why I always tell peoplewhen you're getting on stage
and you're afraid, start tellingyourself that you're so excited
because it's the same exacttype of emotion, the same
feeling in your body.
I actually learned that fromMel Robbins and this changed the
(08:10):
game for me.
But anyways, most people rushthrough their words because
they're nervous.
Confident speakers.
They know the power of thepause.
You will hear me do this a lot.
You don't have to fill everysingle second with words.
(08:33):
A well-timed pause it reallymakes your audience lean in.
It adds to the weight of whatyou're saying, because when you
give them a well-timed pause, they're hanging on your next
word.
They're like oh, what is shegoing to say?
It automatically creates thisresponse within their body and
(08:56):
in their brain.
So the next time you'respeaking, pause, let it land and
then hit them with the nextpoint and watch how people pay
attention.
Secret four this is a difficultone for a lot of people.
(09:17):
You need to show up beforeyou're ready.
I hear this so much, I'm notready to do that.
I tell somebody go live onInstagram.
Oh, I'm not ready for that yet.
Guess what I guarantee you'renever going to be ready.
Never going to be ready.
And so it's going to be pusheddown the road.
Oh, I'll do it next week whenI'm ready.
I'll do it the following weekwhen I'm ready, I'll do it after
(09:39):
this.
There's always an excuse.
Confidence doesn't come fromwaiting until you're ready.
It comes from taking actionbefore you feel ready.
If you wait until you'refearless, you're never, ever
(10:00):
going to start.
So the secret is do it scared,do it messy.
Have some really good methodsto calm your nervous system,
like we just talked about for asecond, a second ago, right?
Instead of telling yourself I'mso scared, I'm so scared, I'm
(10:21):
so scared, I'm so afraid, I'm sonervous to yourself, I'm so
excited.
Do some deep breathing exercises.
Close your your eyes.
Tell yourself how excited youare.
Remind yourself that your wordsare magnetic and that you are
the most powerful speaker thatyour people have ever witnessed
before.
Tell yourself that over andover again.
(10:42):
It's so important.
You can start small.
Hop on you know a five-minuteInstagram.
Have your notes ready.
Practice your speech in themirror.
This is the thing.
Practice notes ready.
Practice your speech in themirror.
(11:02):
This is the thing.
Practice.
Do things that increase yourconfidence prior to doing it,
but then you have to do it.
Record a quick story Every timeyou do this, you're building
your muscle of confidence everysingle time.
Muscle of confidence everysingle time.
But the thing is, confidenceisn't something you have or
(11:23):
don't have.
It's something you build.
You have to remember this, andtoday is your day to start, not
next week, right now.
Right now.
Go to the next step.
Go to the next level in yourconfidence.
Go to the next level in yourconfidence.
Build it up.
It's so crucial to do this.
(11:43):
You are so powerful.
Your words are so beyondpowerful.
You can create a movement withyour audience when you truly
step it up, when you truly startbefore you're ready.
I hope you're feeling as pumpedas I am right now, because I
(12:04):
know the world is waiting tohear your voice.
So your challenge right now isdo one thing today that
stretches your speakingconfidence.
One thing go live, share astory, practice your pitch, just
start, just start, because ifyou don't start, it's never
(12:26):
going to happen.
And I know that is not theperson that you are.
You are the person.
You're the wild woman.
You are on fire inside and Iknow you want to bust out.
I know that's who you truly are.
So get it done right now, don'twait.
All right, and if you love thisepisode, snap a screenshot, tag

really good info out to morepeople.
