In the summer of 2005, Zack Bowen and Addie Hall had chosen to stay in the city to weather out Hurricane Katrina together and thrived in the post-storm city. As life began to come back to the city, their relationship turned tumultuous. On October 17th, 2006, Zack jumped from the seventh story of the Omni Royal hotel. Police found in his pocket a suicide note, explaining his decision was to make up for the life he had taken at their apartment on North Rampart Street.
