Kimi Ni Todoke S3 Ep 3: Secret Brother

Season 3 midpoint. We're franchise-pilled this week. Sarah has been watching season 40 (!!) of The Challenge while Joe has watched the new Alien: Romulus movie.

In Kimi Ni Todoke, we return home, but what happens in Okinawa does not stay in Okinawa. Chizu and Ryu are on the rocks, while Ayane is deciding if Kento is a good guy or not (spoiler alert: he is). Then we get some devastating family backstories and learn that Chizu has a secret brother??

We're in the midst of Rikimi Nii Tadoke season three coverage.
Apologies if I sound a little stuffy.
This episode got to me for some reason.

So in the last 30 minutes, I was crying.

I don't know.
Maybe it's just like I needed to release some sorrow or something in this episode.
Oh, it's sad.
Kind of.
It was.
But I said, so I'm Sarah, Joe here, the one who can maintain his composure while watching.
Well, I broke this watch segment up into two parts.

I watched the first 40 minutes and then I took a break to go watch Ailee and Romulus
in the next morning.
Can we talk?
I watched the second half.
What?
OK, I saw it last week and it was kind of whatever.
Like it didn't feel like it brought anything new necessarily like it set the scene well
and stuff, but I think it was creepy as.

Yeah.
It was.
Yeah, it's good.
I like it.
Just add like another weird little guy to the end of your movie.
Just like throwing a little guy.
Throwing a little monster.
It's good.
Yeah.
No, I think every alien movie because like I haven't seen all of them.
I've seen one, two from Atheist.

Aliens versus Predator.
I haven't seen that.
It doesn't really.
But I feel like I mean, Prometheus did a good job of introducing more weird freaks into
the monster.
I know that one.
It's like the the new ones just make you squirm in your seat.
Like like the freaking C section part of Prometheus is wild.
That part is so crazy.
Oh, it's so good.

It's like the most uncomfortable thing I've seen.
It's very good.
Yeah.
Yes.
So they're all about making you feel.
I mean, that movie is like crazy bleak and like and how much it just like hates everything.
Yeah, but it's got Michael fastbender.
I mean, I like that movie.
Half our podcast is huge fan of Michael fastbender.

No, I like Prometheus.
It's just like, damn, you ever make a thing and you hate it and also it hates you and
you just keep doing that forever.
Misery.
Yeah.
But I watched Romulus was pretty fun.
I liked it quite a bit.
I mean, it's like not doing anything like super thematically interesting.
I don't feel like I mean, it's kind of like, oh, you know, do you make calls to like do

you sacrifice one person to save more people is kind of like the whole thing.
And it doesn't really like it kind of engages with that.
It kind of doesn't.
It's you know, it's kind of characters.
It's hard for me to say.
I mean, they're also just like random people like bad calls.
Well, yeah.
But again, this is like the thing I like about alien is like, what if I just like, oh, I
like a bunch of like random people and just like put them in the worst possible scenario.

Right.
Because like these are not like, I mean, the thing about aliens too is like, these are
supposed to be like highly trained Marines or whatever.
So when they do stupid stuff, it's like, why are you guys doing stupid stuff?
Yeah.
But what is it?
It's like, this is just like a group of like.
Civilians 16.
You know what I mean?
It's like, yeah, of course they're not going to be doing like most optimal thing at all

times.
Yeah.
So I liked it pretty well.
Like it had a lot of good like set piece action scenes.
You know, what I didn't like.
Every time it referenced the old movies.
The Ruck.
Uh, Ruck.
Oh, yeah.
The robot guy Valley.
Yeah.
The CG time.
It was not working for me.

Yeah.
I did not like that either.
Again, I don't like any of the times.
Anytime it references the old movies with like anything, I don't like it.
This is kind of like my thing.
It turns out like, I don't like it when they do that in a Blade Runner.
I haven't seen 2079 or whatever it is.
Like all of the stuff where it's called back to the first movie, I think sucks.

All the new stuff is great.
It's the same thing.
I feel like here is like, I don't like it when you bring back old stuff.
I like it when you do the new stuff, which like for alien, I feel like is easy because
you it's the aesthetic.
Like that's the whole thing.
Like I know it's alien because you're in a big ship with big clacky buttons and everything
is like oppressive and like wrought iron and all this other stuff.

Like it's cool.
You don't have to convince and the aliens there.
You don't have to convince me it's alien by dropping in some quotes from the previous
movies.
The problem for me is all these like it's always the aftermath of the big like, you
know, massacre or big whatever incident and you're just kind of learning after the fact.

I want to see the chaos beginning to end, you know, like when I was.
That was the first one.
Well, I mean, but not on the massive scale of a whole station being attacked, like what
was referenced as.
Yeah, I get that wouldn't be that interesting.
Yeah, true.
I was like rolling up into a hellhole.

(05:29):
But yeah, because I was like, oh, why it plays day one.
That should be cool.
I kind of finish it because it's kind of boring.
I never watched it.
Yeah, I feel like you kind of have to set things.
I feel like you have to do post apocalypse.
I kind of feel like apocalypse stuff just isn't because like it's hard to tell a story
that's like, OK, and then 60,000 people died.

The day after tomorrow, I think does a really good job of it.
Yeah, I love that movie so much.
Maybe it's not that good.
I really like that movie.
And that was exciting because you're going to see like chaos on a huge scale.
Yeah, but I feel like every blockbuster is just like chaos on a huge scale.
I kind of want them to go smaller like my kind of complaint about now.

Freaking Jurassic World Dominion is supposed to be and then it wasn't like nobody died.
I didn't watch that movie.
I don't know.
I'm just a chaos.
We watched all the Jurassic Parks, which oh my God, we should.
OK, I don't really remember to.
I remember it was on two VHS is really good.

(06:41):
It did not get the appreciation it deserves.
But it's good.
Jurassic Park three bad.
I was a dumb kid.
I thought it was good.
Not that good.
I remember some scenes in it like they got to like walk across that like rage that's
made of like that's like a big you can like see through it.
It's cool.
Yeah, that seems cool with the terrain of dawns with like the mist that that seems cool.

It's just that they were still like they were rewriting the script while they were filming.
Like oh yeah, sure.
Just not a lot of sequels to like these kinds of movies always either like goes in like
it kind of goes into like let's just do the big spectacle thing where it's like let's
just have more like weird scenarios where they got to like run away from dinosaurs.

And like I'm pretty on board for that even if you're not doing anything with the plot
particularly.
Yeah, let's see.
You know, it's kind of how I felt about this in Alien movie too.
Yeah.
OK, it's fun.
Yeah, don't get me started.
And I'll just go off on Jurassic rant.
We're not here for that.
Maybe we have like the winner of dinosaurs or something where we do like we still need

to do the ring bonus episode.
I keep like slotting us more stuff that we just never do.
OK, we do need to do the ring episode because we're so far from spooky.
So now you want to do that the next weekend or something?

Uh, it's like been over 105 like every day this week and live in Texas.
No upsetting like it's I am enraged when I go outside.
So I haven't been doing much out and about.

I can't say I've been doing anything all that exciting.
Big Brother is good this season.
And the challenge season 40 battle of the air is so far.
It's good.

Yeah, it's the 40th season, which is a lot of seasons for reality TV show.

It's not like 1998 or something.
OK, it used to be a lot more hokey.
And, you know, they jokingly say like we were like going after each other for Xbox as the
prize versus now it's like, you know, the half a million dollar prize or something like
that.
That's just inflation.
So it's like Xbox cost half a million dollars.

Yeah.
Well, they used to have to be like, oh, I got a text on my my, you know, whatever phone
like they used to very much be like in show ad heavy, but they've definitely like.
Oh, streamlines.
Yeah.

(09:47):
Yes, it was rampant.
It's doing the Truman show bit.
Yeah, essentially.
But it's interesting because normally in a reality series, I don't like when they return
like like they just reuse the same cast because it's interesting to learn about new people.
But it's kind of the appeal of the show is that these people have like these decades

long relationships where sometimes they're wronged or sometimes they work together.
And so you have like favorites and I just like it because it's emphasis on competition.
And that's always my favorite part of reality shows is like the challenges they have to
do and imagining like how well I would do it and blah, blah, blah.

So I think that's fun.
I can't think of anything other than what I already talked about last week, playing
Dragon Age and Coral Island.
And oh, do we want to talk about Gamescom?
I don't know what Gamescom is.
What?
Oh, well, since I'm in the industry, I'm more intrigued with it.

I guess it's like this big conference or convention in Germany.
Okay.
Like Borlantz 4 got announced.
We've got the Persona 3 reloaded.

Here's the thing.
Ever since the ETH, like all I had to do, I used to only have to pay attention to ETH.
I know.
I don't care about anything else.
And now it's dead.
Now it's like, oh, pay attention to all this other stuff.

But right before I had one EA or E3 where I got to sit with the crew.

Because there's like a new thing where, oh, you'll be able to play your PC VR games.

You just have to get this really expensive thing where it's like, you can do that with
a quest already.
And you don't have to purchase additional hardware or anything because PlayStation VR is not

standalone.
You have to play station first.
Oh my God.
Did you see the price of the next switch?

Is there a new like $500 or something?

Here's my thing, which is like, this is, okay, for one thing, I kind of like, I haven't
played as many video games because I've been like, I'm going to join book clubs and I'm
going to start watching all of Gundam.
So it's like, I'm not playing as many video games.
Like I'm especially not playing AAA video games.
So like I'm going through this list of stuff and it's like, there's a, there's a Dune game.

There's an Indiana Jones game.
There's the big Star Wars thing.
We're doing more Arkham Batman games.
I'm just like, what?
Like, this is not, I just kind of don't care.
Yeah, I think it's too much.
They need to make shorter games that I can just play.

I still like, I like Nintendo Directs because that's like, delivered to you on your console

and it's fun and exciting.
I think they do a good job of announcing things.
Oh, there's a Civ 7.

I know, like I've seen some people, like I've seen people talk about Monster Hunter,
whatever the new one.
Yeah.
Monster Hunter Wild.
I'm excited for that.

I think I'll play that, that new Star Wars outlaw game.

I don't know if they thought they were going to be riding off the high of the movie success,
but I don't know.
It's maybe like they're dropping it as a distract you from the bad movie.

I just need to get through my entire backlog of everything and then I can catch up and
start getting excited about new things.

I have so many games on Steam that I'm like, yeah, I'm probably never going to play this,

What if I replaced my actual happiness with the idea of happiness I get when I buy stuff?
I fall victim to that so much.

season one, which I also have two episodes of.
I was going to try to finish those on Friday, but I couldn't because I had to go mail my
friends passport to them.
Oh, you're just mailing all the things out.
I was just made.
That's why I was like, hey, I finally get around to mailing you the thing I was supposed
to give you because I'm already at the point.
Did you open the one I sent you?

No, I'm waiting.
Why do you mean you're waiting?

I know mine's getting sent in like a box.

I kind of thought something was going to happen with that.
And it didn't.

We open on pics from the school trip.

They all sit around a table and try to remember what they did because it's been like a time
skip or something.
I don't know how much time has passed since then.
A few months.
But it seems like they're trying to remember what they did.
So it definitely isn't like the next day.
Both Shizu and Ayane are reminded of their bad times during the trip.
She asked Shizu how her relationship is with Ryu and she says it's normal.

Also his birthday is coming up and Ayane is like, why don't you just date him?
You guys hang out all the time anyway.
And Shizu's like, that's impossible because if they started dating, that means they'd have
to like kiss and stuff.
And Salako gets embarrassed at the thought of kissing because apparently that hasn't
made any progress at all with Mikaze.
Now frustrating.
Shizu tells Ayane that she only thinks of Ryu as a friend and nothing else.

(17:22):
At school, Ryu tells Shizu that Pins making her redo her career plan.
Did you?
I have a question.
Yes.
Were you able to read what it says?
I was able to read the first two.
They did not.
I had to manually translate this.
So here we go.
My translation skills are not that good.
But her top three desired jobs are number one, ramen restaurant.

Number two, Gyoza restaurant, which is like a different kind of food.
And I couldn't read number three because her handwriting is so bad.
Also, she only writes in Kana like a child.
That was an used congenie.
Oh, no.
Even though she's a high schooler.
I can take a guess what the third one is.

Food restaurant.
I was like, I was trying to see, it was like, is this like a rice ball place?
Maybe.
Or like, it's like, it was like Chas.

I don't know.
I couldn't read the whole thing though.
Her handwriting sucks.
Ionahanskazahaya, an envelope with a photo.
She tells him it's Saliko in her underwear, but it's just Saliko standing in her full-length

sleeping gown.
Which is super cute.
Because she sleeps in that.
She's like a, like a cartoon lady from like the 19s.
Yeah, from like the 40s or something.
Ionah looks over at Kento and gets embarrassed because she remembers that he comforted her
that one time.
I'm surprised.
Even though it was maybe several months ago.

Yeah, for real.
I'm surprised they're acting shy.
That wasn't the reaction I was like.
They're making her so weak.
I don't like that they make her just like a blushy girl here.
Come on.
It's fine.
We'll talk about it.

Saliko is doubting herself because Kazahaya isn't looking at her or holding her hand
as much as before.

Something's going on with them.

Because guess what?
We have B plots now so it's not season two.

Just like a group of girls roll up on Ionah who's like doing her makeup or something and she
recognizes them as Kento's girls.
They're acting all friendly but she's like this is kind of sus.

She expects them to tell her off like that one girl did to Chizu last episode.
And they're like oh hey Ionah we saw you with Kent that one time at the trip.
Do you like Kento?
And she's like well I don't dislike him and they're like oh cool.
That's great.
We heard you broke up with your boyfriend and we're feeling bad and one of them is like
I just broke up with my boyfriend too so like I get it.

(19:58):
And she's like why are they just being nice.
And I asked if Kento told them that she broke up with their boyfriend and they're like nah
he doesn't talk about stuff like that.
We just heard it through the rumor mill.
And she's like hmm.
Then Ionah is like okay hold on.
So all of you like Kent's get along with each other what's up with that.
And they're all like oh yeah like he's a cool guy and like we can vent about our boyfriends

(20:21):
to him or whatever and like he totally listens.
It's like nice to have a normal guy friend.
Then they're like you should hang out with us because then you'll like get to know him
better but she's like no I don't think I'm going to do that.
Then she asks if they want to date him and they're like oh I mean yeah he's like a totally
dateable guy but they don't really seem that interested in him like that.

So she's like okay but like what if you.
What is it when you have a boyfriend but you use another dude for the emotional part of
the relationship that your actual boyfriend's not giving you.
Does that have a name?
It's like a thing.
That sounds like having a friend.
Friendship.
I don't know like a emotional fluffer or something.

I've never heard this phrase.
You know like okay.
Okay you have a boyfriend but he sucks because you're dating a child.
So you hang out with another guy.
Yes for the emotional stuff yes.
That just sounds like any of the perks of being a boyfriend.
Okay that sounds like a bad situation for everybody actually.

I don't think they're doing that.
That's not what's happening here.
Oh this might be a new girl thing actually.
This is totally a new girl thing that's where I've seen it.
That sounds like some shit new girl would come up with.

Emotional fluffer.
Someone who basically is there for another person in the same role as a romantic partner

would be but without the benefits of romance or physical affection.
Yeah dog that's just called being someone's friend.

Mainstream culture is stupid about relationships and romance all the time, every time.

Iona asks like what would you guys get mad if you got a girlfriend and they're like
oh no that'd be great for him.
I don't think anything would change with us hanging out with him.
She's like hmm I have a note here.
All caps.
Plot twist.
I'm right about everything all the time.
I should never doubt myself or listen to anyone else.
It turns out Kent is just generically nice and everybody likes him even though they all

think he's sketchy and weird.
He's just like a normal guy who's nice.
Yeah well I made a note.
I like the Kento that just kind of is quiet and soft spoken.
Not the annoying like trying to be the funny guy one.
If you talk like this all the time he's way more likeable when he's just like listening

(23:06):
and not just you know.
Well I guess with Sawak though he was just kind of had to be the more forceful person.
Yes this is like that tactic would not work with Sawak though because she would just never
say anything.
She would just like sit there in silence.
Yeah.
We just don't like him around her but much better.
You don't?

(23:26):
Otherwise.
Oh at that time.

Yeah.
He apologizes for it.
He's just a nice cool guy and like his posse of girls are just like oh yeah he's just
like a cool guy who's like nice and we hang out with him because we like him.
Yes.

It's just a normal friendship.

I feel vindicated.
I was right.

Thank you to me to Ok Season 3 for retroactively proving me right that this guy is just kind
of nice.

Oh man I was right.
I was right high on this moment.
Later Ayane is waiting for the train and across the platform is none other than Kento
who's just looking right at her.

She's like oh thank god his train is here and then it pulls off to reveal that he didn't
get on it and instead he walked over to her side to talk to her.
He took his friend's scarf.
The friend who always had a scarf he totally stole it.
Oh Sulu yeah.
Yeah.
Oh yeah they're also friends.
Those girls are also friends of Sulu.
So I assume he's also just like a generically okay guy.

(24:28):
Yeah.
Yeah so he walks up and he's like good to see you've been acting normal but you've
been avoiding me huh.
And she's like yeah because I'm embarrassed I cried in front of you several months ago
and he's like oh don't worry about it it's cool.
Like I don't think anything about it.
Then he buys her a coffee and it's in a can and apparently it's hot.
I feel like we've talked about this before.

(24:51):
Hot vending machines.
Yeah vending machines in Japan rule.
She thinks to herself that this is how you become a Kent girl.
He buys you coffee and is just like generically nice which again this is just friendship.
Not bad the boys they have to pick from our.
Yeah because this is like girls and guys can't be normal friends.

(25:14):
You have to be stupid about it.
I don't know.
He asks her if she knows why he's been watching her.
The train arrives and instead of answering him she gets on it and he smiles and waves
at her as the train pulls off.
Elsewhere Cheezy's mom tells her to take these sushi rolls to Ryu's family.
We cut to Ryu's room where he's hanging out with Kazehaya and he tells him that Cheezy

(25:38):
rejected him on the school trip.
He says that he knew that she'd react that way but he's still relieved to have been
able to tell her.
While walking over Cheezy thinks to herself that if Ryu had liked her this whole time
that means that he liked her since like season one and maybe even before season one.
She thinks to herself that their relationship is going to be different now that she knows

(26:01):
this.
She arrives at the front door right as Kazehaya's about to leave.
He's like oh hey Ryu's upstairs and she asks him if Ryu told him like what's been
going on and he's like uh yeah.
She shoves the sushi into his hands and runs off.
She goes home thinking about how their past relationship is over now and cries.

(26:22):
Kazehaya brings the sushi up to Ryu and fills him in on everything that happened and Ryu
is like hmm alright.
It's the next morning and Ryu runs into Cheezy's mom walking outside.
She's like oh good I'm glad I ran into you.
Can you bring Cheezy her lunch because she forgot it and he agrees.
At school Cheezy was absent.
Sawako tries to piece together what's going on.
After school Ayane decides that she's going to try to text Cheezy because I think she

(26:46):
might be sick at home.
Kento comes up and Ayane immediately gets super antsy about it.
He's like oh it's chill I came here actually to talk to Sawako and Ayane gets annoyed
at that and leaves.
Kento then asks Kazehaya if he can borrow Sawako for a bit and Kazehaya's like you
don't need to ask my permission and Kento's like oh okay well don't worry man I'm not
going to do anything weird and they walk off.

(27:09):
In the hall Kento asks her if things have been good between her and Kazehaya and she's
like yeah but things feel kind of strange right now and I don't know why and then she
says that she thinks she might be overthinking it and he's like well if you think you're
overthinking it you almost certainly are.
Anyway Kazehaya seems crazy about you so I think you're still good and then he tells

(27:30):
her that if things are strained she should just close her eyes and count to five.
She immediately thinks back to Pinsprank in season one and is like oh I can't do that.
That's no no way.
So you can.
You have to be so passive act.
You don't really have to do that much.
This is why he's great.
This is why I can't again because he's the only one being like hey it looks like you

(27:55):
and Kazehaya haven't done fuck all for two months again.
We're just doing season two again but this time you guys are already dating why.
Even Keta's like you should have more confidence in yourself since the two hottest guys in
school fell for you.
By the way that's me and Kazehaya and she's like wow you and Kazehaya are the two hottest
guys in school.

(28:16):
Then she realizes what he just said that he fell for at one time and he's like yeah I
actually wasn't kidding that one time about dating you but then he's like yeah but like
sorry I totally misread all of that stuff in season two and making everything worse.
Then he says like I just want to tell you that and also I'm going to go look for Ayane
because I think your friend is hot and then he goes off and leaves and Sawaka wishes

(28:39):
some good luck.
All the boys tell her before anyone else.
Yeah it's because she can keep a secret as we know.
She's the one who can keep a secret.
Yeah this was nice again.
He's just being nice.
Yes he's much more enjoyable this season.
Yeah and also he's like why are you being weird with your boyfriend just be normal.

He's like I don't know man.
I just feel like it was like to be so socially awkward.
I can't.
Dude he can't leave them alone for like a week or they just fall apart.
Very hands on friendship with those two.
Yeah you kind of have to hand hold them.
They're just going to wander off away from each other if you don't.

Let's see.
Kento approaches Ayane.
She's like you better not have messed with Sawako and he laughs and he says that.

Then Sawako and Ionix show up and Kazai Haya leaves.
Turns out Kazai Haya had texted them and told them to come which again kind of makes it
a little bit weird where he didn't say to Sawako earlier that she probably wasn't sick.

Something's going on with them.
I was going to say maybe just like she hasn't told them up to this point so like I don't
know if he knows that then maybe it's like they're not the ones she wants to open up
to about or they're not going to force her to talk about it so he'll do it instead or

Kazai Haya tells them that she isn't sick and she skipped class because she didn't
want to see Ryu.
Then she says that they can't be like brothers now that she has to think like about him like
this and it can't be simple like it was before.
Sawako asks if Ryu knows about her feelings like that this is going to change and she
says that he probably can guess.

Then she thinks about how she might know him like how he knows her.
We got a flashback of Chizun Ryu as kids.
A long flashback.
A long flashback.
We're going to go through time.
We get their whole backstory.
Yeah.
We learned that Chizun was like a little hellraiser as a kid and was always getting into trouble
and like breaking windows shit and that Ryu as a kid just didn't talk much but loves to

eat rice balls and is bad at interacting with other kids so Chizun was always kind of like
having to cover for him.
Eventually Ryu joins baseball and makes some friends.
At around the same time Chizu starts to want to marry Toru.
We get a scene where Chizu and Ryu are walking home and she's telling him about the bun
splitting thing that Toru did that one time where he like took the two buns and put them

(36:33):
together.
But then they see Toru come out of a convenience store with the girl and then he does the same
thing where he splits the buns with his girlfriend and this upsets Chizu and Ryu pulls her away
and they run home.
Get wrecked.
Yeah I was like oh what are you?
Yeah.
We get another scene where Chizu and Ryu have to walk to school in the snow.

Ryu's mom is like I says she'll pick them up later and in a voiceover Chizu tells us
that that's the last time she ever saw her and we learned that Ryu's mom died in the
car crash on her way to pick them up in the snow.
I was like taking notes like normal like are they really going to school in that weather
like is there no bad weather days in Japan's school system and then it turns into like

awfulness immediately.
Yeah.
Ryu's mom's whole thing is that she makes rice balls for them real good.
That's about to come up.
I didn't write that in my notes but that's about to come up so I'm going to go ahead

Anyway she's dead now.
Toru looks like her.

Mom was a hottie.

His mom was kind of hot.

It's very funny because Chizu's mom has like little things in her eyes.
Her hair that make it look like little horns.
She's also the one that gets like angry at the kids.

Ryu is even more demure after this happens and Chizu starts playing a bigger role as

part of their family at this point.
Now the Sonatas have dinner with Chizu's family pretty regularly.
We get a scene where Ryu sees his dad drinking at night and Toru goes down to talk with him
while child Ryu goes back to bed.
Apparently they must only have one bathroom in the house because he has to go downstairs
to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Later on we see that Ryu starts having dinner with Kazehaya's family and Toru starts having
dinner with his girlfriend.
So it's like just Ryu's dad.
Chizu now left out tries making rice balls for Ryu but Ryu assumes that they're gifts
for Toru when she leaves them out because they both show up at home at the same time.
It's like there's these rice balls and Ryu's like it's probably for you because you know

she's in love with you.
He doesn't say that.
Chizu keeps making and leaving rice balls out for Ryu and they gradually improve in
quality.
If I made rice balls that's what they'd look like.
That was really sweet.
Sad little attempt.

One day he sees her leaving them and she tells him that they're there for him and that she
starts crying because they're all very sad about Ryu's now departed mother.

She tells him she's not going to go shopping for him though, because like, I'm not, we're

And he says that she brought him stuff anyway.

She gets embarrassed and he looks at her intently.
She tells him that she's frustrated that their familial relationship has to come to an end

because he told her that she likes her.

they're still awkward.
She remembers Kent's words to be more confident, but then gets flustered as soon

So we're going to do recommendations.
I went first.
So it's this week.
Have I recommended alien isolation, the video game?

No, that looks scary.
There's a video game called alien isolation and it rules.
It's like, what if you did a immersive sim?
I guess it's kind of an immersive sim.
Horror game in like a big alien.
It's actually very similar to like the premise of alien Romulus where it's like, you show up at this big one.

In this case, it's like a big kind of spaceport, like an airport kind of thing.
But it's all gone dark.
And you're trying to like, I don't really exactly remember why you're there.
I think like your ship has like an issue and you need to like get repaired.
But you like roll up on this place and it's been like totally destroyed and like kind of abandoned.
And you have to try to fix your ship and get out of there.

I think I don't really exactly remember what the premise is.
It's been a while since I played it.
But the thing that's fun about it is that like you have there are different types of like enemies.
You have to do a lot of sneaking around.
So you have like there are other like human scavengers that will sometimes attack you.
Sometimes they'll be friendly.
It just kind of depends on who they are and what you're doing at the moment.
And then there are the synthetic robot guys that are like on the other space station and they have their their directives to do different things.

And sometimes that puts you at odds with them so you can like sneak around them.
You sometimes have to like fight them.
But then there are the aliens and the aliens.
You cannot really fight the aliens particularly well.
You can scare them off with like a flamethrower or something.
But like you're kind of you just kind of have to avoid those enemies.
So you're in this really interesting situation where there are some enemies you can fight.

There are some enemies you can like kill and there's some enemies that you can just have to navigate around.
And they'll like interact with each other to like there'll be some set pieces in the game where there are robots and there are the aliens.
And you could try to like bait them into fighting each other or like get them to distract each other and same thing with the humans.
There are really cool like set piece stuff going on where you like go out on the like outside of the perimeter and it's like very cool.

There's like a lot of fun stuff going on.
It's a really fun game.
I enjoy it quite a bit.
It's like up there because it turns out I really like space horror games.
If I really like dead space, I really like prey.
It's good.
So yeah, if you like alien, this is like a really nice companion to the movies and stuff.

Very good.
Also the like aliens and those have a like very complicated A.I. structure that like if you hide in the same type of place too many times,
they'll start to figure it out and it's cool like they learn over time.
Terrifying.
It's awesome.
Terrifying.
I'm trying to remember if I've recommended this game before or not.

Have I recommended the wolf among us?
I don't think so.

So the wolf among us is a telltale game.
And so if you don't know, they're the ones who did like the their most well known game is the walking dead one where you play.

I forget Lee you play as this guy Lee and then you find Clementine this kid and kind of take care of her and it's basically like, it's very stressful.
It's a pretty straightforward.
What, what do you call it a walking Sim with like decisions but they're time decisions.
And then there's like, like reaction time reaction where you get to hit a button to, and then if you miss it then something terrible happens and it doesn't go what you're supposed to.

And the wolf among us is based off a graphic novel series I believe that is basically kind of like grim fairy tale characters but they live in like this kind of like this.
I don't know shady city kind of dark and gritty.

Fable fable comic books.
But you're you play as big B wolf which is like big bad wolf.
Like a detective.
I know like the names are so good I never like anything I had big B after that.
But you're like,

solving these murders are happening to different characters.
Like, I think the little mermaid she gets to make it and stuff like that but like, you know, decisions consequences.
It's like got a really lovely color palette.

Yes, basic. Well, you play a sense and not that but but yeah so you like have, you know, like any shonen where you have the inner the monster inside you that fight because he's big bad wolf and like he has a bad rep.
So people don't trust you because you've been like a villain in the past. Like I think it's like the roles you served in your original stories are like a thing that happened but now you live in this way so people still associate you with whatever you did in your original

storyline. So like big bad wolf eight little red writing hood you know so people don't trust your character because of that. I don't know I'm pretty sure Ariel the little mermaid is like hit rock bottom is working as a strip.
Or a club and stuff like that is happening. So it's very gritty but I really really like it. It's so good.

It has overwhelmingly positive reviews on steam.
And it is only 15 bucks. And I really, really enjoyed it. I see if there's like a more coherent description as big be wolf, the big bad wolf you will discover the brutal bloody murder is just a taste of things to come in a game series where

every dish is can have a hermese consequences. So if you're into like I don't know like that once upon a time show or something where you like classic fairy tales and alternate scenarios this is the game for you.
Or if you want to be stressed out by like a timer on your decision making. You can do this too. Yeah, so kind of mystery and fantasy elements the wolf among us.

Make your own invention. Yeah, it's fun.
