Pete Sterbick is the Head Football Coach at the Colorado School of Mines, and it was a pleasure watching his team play in the NCAA D2 National Championship game on national TV in mid-December, 2023. I was so impressed I had to call and get him on the podcast. As a local Colorado guy, most people were excited about what Deion Sanders did this year at the University of Colorado, but the best coach in the state, and the one who actually led his team to the National Championship game, is Coach Sterbick.
Coach Sterbick is not only a world class coach and offensive mind, but he is truly a good man and a thoughtful leader of young men. He is another coach who epitomizes what it means to be a significant coach, and the sky is truly the limit for him and his program.
We had a great conversation about recruiting, the NCAA Portal, the present and future of NIL, Coach DeBoer going from NAIA coach to the D1 National Title Game to now the Head Coach of the University of Alabama, and I couldn't waste an opportunity to talk to an offensive guru about Justin Fields and my Chicago Bears!
