Associate Administrative Judge Steve Leifman of Florida's 11th Circuit Court, provides insight into his work with the Miami-Dade County Court Diversion Program for defendants with addiction and mental illness. Considered a pioneer in Mental Health Court and police training among his peers, Judge Leifman's work was featured by PBS Frontline in a documentary titled: The Definition of Insanity. Judge Leifman is currently the co-chair of the American Bar Association Criminal Justice Mental Health Committee and co-chair of the Judges and Psychiatrists Leadership Initiative.
