One day, two little girls named Maggie and Sylvie
were sitting at their house.
Now, they had been playing someboard games for a little while,
which had been a lot of fun.
And then, as they were playingtheir last little game, maggie
was about to roll the dice.
She was almost ready and as shewent to throw it, they heard a
voice outside.
Help, help, sc, screamed thevoice.

(00:27):
What was that?
Said Sylvie.
I don't know, said Maggie,let's go look.
They raced over to the windowand as they looked outside they
could see a purple fuzzycreature that was running around
their front yard.
Help Please, said the purplefuzzy creature.
The girls looked out.
It was a very funny sight to beseen.

(00:48):
Um, do you think we better helphim?
Said Sylvie.
Definitely, said Maggie.
So they raced out the frontdoor of their house to go see
what was going on.
When they got outside, therewas the purple fuzzy creature
still running around in circles.
Um, are you okay, said Maggie.
Um, no, not really, said thepurple fuzzy creature.
Who are you?

(01:08):
Said Sylvie.
I am the Pim Pim and I am inbig trouble, said Pim Pim.
Why are you in big trouble?
Said Sylvie.
Well, I have this little friend.
His name is Benny, benny BeaverNow.
I thought that he would beready for school, so I took him
to the school today, thinkingthat it would be a very good
idea, so that he could do someof the learning and get better

(01:29):
at all of the learning things.
But things did not quite go asplanned.
What do you mean?
Things didn't go as planned, said Maggie.
I think it is best that youcome with me and we all go find
out together.
Okay, let's go, said Pimpin.
The girls quickly raced backinside and checked with their
mum and of course she knew thatthey needed to help.
If there was a little beaverthat was in trouble, they were

(01:50):
going to be the ones to help him.
All right, pimpin, they said asthey raced back outside, we can
come help you.
Hooray, said Pimpin, follow me.
Pimpin started running off downthe street and the girls
started running along behind him.
As they ran and they ran, theysaw Pimpin.
Do you know where you're going?
Um, no, I've actually forgotten.
I thought so, said Maggie, because we've passed that house

(02:11):
three times now.
Oh no, how are we ever going tofind how to get back to the
school?
Um, I think that maybe we mightneed to ask for some directions
, said Sylvie.
Okay, good idea.
Pimpin went over to a letterbox.
Excuse me, letterbox, can youtell me how to get to the school
?
Maggie walked over Pimpin, youcannot talk to the letterbox,

(02:33):
it's not going to tell.
Well, if you go left, thenright, said the letterbox, and
then straight down that road fora few minutes, you'll be able
to get to the school.
It'll be able to get to theschool.
It'll be just on your left.
What said sylvie?
How did that letterbox starttalking?
Well, it said the pim pim.
Things often talk to me when Isay excuse me please.
Uh, really, said maggie.
Definitely see, pim pim wentover to another letterbox.

(02:56):
Uh, excuse me, what is theweather like today?
He said to the letterbox, andthe letterbox didn't say
anything.
Pim pim, see, it doesn't work.
Yeah, it does work.
I just don't want to talk tohim.
What Said the girls?
They laughed as the otherletterbox seemed to smile at
them.
Quick, we best be going.
Which way was it that way?
Said the other letterbox.
Okay, said the kids, let's go.

(03:17):
They started running off downthe street in the direction that
the letterbox had box had, said.
As they took the turns and madeall the different paths, they
eventually could hear some noisecoming from up ahead.
What is that?
Said Sylvie.
Um, that sounds a lot likeBenny, said Pimpin.
Really, said Maggie.
Uh, yes, definitely really.

(03:37):
Said Pimpin, come on quick, quick, quick.
The girls and Pimpin racedaround the last corner and then
they could see it.
There was a school with a bigplayground that seemed to have
been made out of wood at onestage because most of it was
missing, and in the middle ofthe playground was a little
beaver.
Surrounding the playground wereall the kids looking quite

(03:58):
utterly and totally terrified.
Um, what's going on?
Said Maggie.
Well, said one of the littlekids.
This little beaver came andstarted eating the entire
playground.
Yeah, it was a new playgroundtoo, said one of the other kids.
Um, I think he needs to knowthat that is not the right thing
.
Excuse me, benny called outPimpin, said Benny, and he
looked across at Pimpin.
Ah, you should not be eatingthe playground, he said as he

(04:22):
ran off in a different directionand raced over towards one of
the classrooms.
Um, a classroom's made out ofwood, said Maggie.
Um, I think inside the wallsmight be, said Pimpin, we better
run, said Sylvie as they racedover Benny the beaver had
punched a hole in the side ofthe wall and was eating the
timber inside the wall, saidBenny Beaver oh dear, said Bim

(04:46):
Bim.
I think this was not a goodidea.
Maybe we should just go backhome and pretend that this never
happened.
Bim Bim called the girls.
We need to help fix it.
Um, but I don't know how to fixit.
Well, this is a school.
Hopefully somebody will havesome good ideas.
Let's call everybody in.
So they decided that they wouldget all the kids together to

(05:06):
work out a plan.
But how are we going to getthem all in?
Said Sylvie, I know, saidPimpin, as he raced off towards
one of the officers.
Where did he go?
Said Maggie.
Next thing, over the PA systemof the entire school, they could
hear a voice Hello children, this is me, the Pimpim.
I need everybody to meet atwhat used to be the playground.
We need to come up with a plan.

(05:27):
Okay, ready, set, go.
Said Pimpim over the school's PAsystem and with that, out of
all the classrooms, came all thekids and all the teachers,
until the entire school wasstanding at what used to be a
playground.
It wasn't there anymore becauseit had all been chewed into
tiny little wood chips.
Look at all the tan bark, saidone of the kids.
That's not the tan bark, thatwas the playground, said another

(05:48):
kid.
Yes, that beaver's in very bigtrouble, said one of the
teachers.
Okay, said Bim Bim.
Okay, maggie, your turn.
Okay, fix it.
Um, fix it.
Said Maggie.
Um, we need to come up with aplan.
Okay, uh, excuse me, everybody, said Maggie.
Um, there seems to be a beaverthat is causing lots of trouble
at this school.
I see that he has eaten yourplayground and I think he's

(06:11):
currently inside one of thewalls of one of the classrooms,
eating all the timber in thatwall too.
Why is he eating all the timber, called out one of the kids.
Um, I don't know.
It's because his teeth hurt, said Pimpin.
What said the kids?
Yes, he's got very sore teeth, and when he has sore teeth, he
likes to chew things to make itfeel better.
But how can we make his teethfeel better?

(06:32):
Um, let's have a think, saidthe kids, as they all started to
think.
They wondered why chewing onwood might make his teeth feel
better.
Um, maybe he likes themunchiness of it.
Is there something else that hecould chew on that might be
better?
Hey, you know those rubber ballsin the gym.
Yeah, the ones that areimpossible to pop.
Oh, we could use those, saidthe kids.
Sounds like a good idea, saidMaggie.

(06:54):
All right, everybody to the gym, let's go get those balls.
So all the kids and all theteachers, and Maggie and Sylvie
and Pimpim all raced towards thegym.
As they went in the door, thegym teacher was standing there.
You will not take all thoseballs, it will end very badly.
But but, sir, we, we need themto try and stop the beaver.

(07:14):
Oh well, maybe if we make agame out of it, that might work,
said the sports teacher.
Um, what's the game?
Um, have you ever playeddodgeball?
Uh, might work, said the sportsteacher.
What's the game?
Have you ever played dodgeball?
Yes, said the kids.
Let's play dodgeball, beaverstyle.
What said the kids?
Yeah, everybody grab a ball andwe'll track down that beaver
and everybody can try and hithim with a ball.

(07:35):
Okay, said the kids.
Don't worry, these balls don'thurt.
Oh, okay, said the kids.
So they all raced in and grabbedone of the rubbery balls each.
How do we find him?
Said Maggie.
I don't know.
Said Sylvie, we listen.
Said Pimpim.
Okay, everybody be very, veryquiet.
All the kids and all theteachers stopped and listened
and they could hear a noise offin the distance.

(07:56):
He's this way, yelled one ofthe kids as they raced off in
the direction of the noises.
While the kids went running, pimpin went running a different
direction.
Where are you going?
Pimpin, said the girls, followme, we can go the fun way.
So all the kids went runningacross in the direction of the
voice and Pimpin, maggie andSylvie all started climbing up a

(08:18):
ladder until they were on topof some of the classrooms.
Follow me, said Pimpin as hestarted running along the tops
of the classroom.
There was some kind of gantryup there where the kids could
run along safely behind therails.
They ran along and jumped frombuilding to building to building
until they could see all thekids around the outside of one
of the buildings.
He's in that one, said one ofthe kids Get in there and get

(08:40):
him yelled.
One of the kids get in thereand get him yelled.

in the air cowabunga.
He yelled as he broke throughthe top of the roof of the
classroom and landed in themiddle and there was Benny

(09:00):
Beaver chewing on one of thetables.
Benny said Pim Pim.
Okay, you've done enoughchewing.
It is time to stop.
Said Benny Beaver, as he chewedthe corner off the table and
started running towards thewindow.
Don't go out that one.
Said Maggie, you'll get.
As Benny Beaver dove out thewindow, the dodgeball started to
fly.
Said Benny Beaver, jumping backin through the window.

(09:21):
The dodgeball started to fly, said Benny Beaver, jumping back
in through the window.
He said quick, grab one of theballs.
Said Maggie.
She grabbed one of the ballsoff the ground and handed it to
Benny.
Benny, try chewing on this, itmight help your teeth, said
Benny Beaver as he started tochew on the rubber ball.
As he was chewing, a smileappeared on his face.

(09:44):
I think it's working, saidSylvie Hooray.

Said Pimpin.

Sylvie bent down and listened.

(10:45):
I think Benny wants to fix it,she said Really, said Maggie,
let's let him try.
So they took Benny back over tothe playground and now that his
teeth weren't so sore, it turnsout he had some very special
skills.
He started running aroundgrabbing all the little bits of
wood chips and compacting themtogether, smushing them into new

(11:06):
shapes and new platforms andnew swings and new slides and
new climbing areas andeverything by the time the kids
all came.
Running back over there beforethem was the most incredible
looking school playground theyhad ever seen.
How did you do all that, saidone of the kids.
