Speaker 1 (00:05):
One day a little girl named Eliane was sitting at
home.
Now, as she was sitting in herhouse, she was staring out the
window.
You see, it was raining today, and when it was raining outside
she didn't get to do the samekind of playing that she
normally did.
She really wanted to go outside, but, man, it was coming down
hard.
There was rain everywhere.

(00:26):
So as she sat and she staredout the window, all of a sudden
she felt like she could hearsomething, a tiny little voice
Eliane, Eliane.
She looked around her room, butshe couldn't see anything
anywhere.
Where is that voice coming from?
She thought.
She started looking in all thedifferent areas of her bedroom.

(00:46):
She could hear it.
Still, eliane, down here, saidthe voice.
She looked down at the groundand there was something teeny,
teeny, tiny.
Um, are you talking to me?
Said Eliane.
I am, said the voice.
It's Gloria, said the tiny, tiny, tiny little girl.

(01:07):
Um, how are you so small, saidEllie Anne.
Well, said Gloria, you'll bevery small too in a moment.
What said Ellie Anne?
And with that, all of a sudden, she began to shrink.
She got smaller and smaller, and smaller and smaller, until
she was the same size as Gloria.
Wow, said Ellie Ann.

(01:29):
What happened?
Well, said Gloria, I neededyour help for a very special
adventure.
Do you think that you couldcome with me?
Yes, please, said Ellie Ann.
I don't have anything to dobecause it's raining outside and
I can't go outside.
Well, said Gloria, we're goingto have to go outside.
What said Eliane?
But the raindrops they'll waitand see, said Gloria.

(01:52):
Okay, said Eliane.
So Gloria and Eliane startedworking their way across the
bedroom.
It was very strange, being sosmall.
They walked and they walked, but they hardly got anywhere.
All the little strands ofEliane's carpet on her bedroom
floor seemed like giant trees asthey waded through the middle
of the floor and kept goingthrough.

(02:12):
Um, gloria, what's this specialadventure?
Oh, you'll see very, veryshortly, said Gloria.
Come on, let's go.
So as they raced through thecarpet, gloria started to jump.
Wow, said Ellie Ann, you canjump really far.
Yeah, it's something specialabout being so small.
Our jumping powers get extragood.
Oh, can I try, said Ellie Ann.

(02:33):
Go for it, said Gloria.
So Ellie Ann started jumpingfrom piece of carpet to piece of
carpet and she could flythrough the air.
Wow, look how high I'm jumping.
It's fantastic, isn't it, saidGloria.
But we're almost there Almostwhere, said Ellie Ann.
As she looked across, sherealised there was a tiny little
hole in the wall of her room.

(02:55):
Where does this hole go?
Said Ellie Ann.
Come on, said Gloria, come, let's see.
So Gloria and Ellie Ann startedwalking through the hole.
When they got halfway through, there was a tiny little ant
standing at some kind of gate.
Oh, gloria, it said Are youready to go back outside?
I am, said Gloria.
Did that ant just talk?

(03:17):
Said Ellie Anne.
Yes, said Gloria, he's one ofmy friends.
Hello, said the ant.
My name is Antony and I am thekeeper of this gate.
Are you allowed to come out?
Um, I think so, said Eliane.
She is, said Gloria, she's withme.
Oh, very good.
Well, be careful, because thoseraindrops, they're very, very
big today, said Antony.
We will, said Gloria, we'll bevery careful.

(03:40):
As they walked past Antony, helifted the gate so that they
could get out through the tinylittle hole in the wall.
When they got to the other side, ellie Ann could see it.
Wow, she said Look at the sizeof the raindrops.
The raindrops came falling fromthe sky like giant balls of

(04:01):
water that would explode intotiny little balls of water.
Wow, this is looking prettyscary.
Don't worry, said Gloria, Ibrought these.
Gloria pulled out two very funnylooking raincoats.
Ellie Ann held it up and had alook.
Um, I don't think this is goingto save us from those giant
drops of rain.
She said Just try, said Gloria.

(04:22):
Okay, said Ellie Ann.
So she put on the very specialrain jacket.
The rain jacket was very, verycomfortable.
On the inside it was all fuzzyand warm and on the outside it
was almost like Some form ofarmour.
This feels really strange, saidEliane.
I know, said Gloria, step outinto the rain and see what

(04:43):
happens.
Um, are you sure, said Eliane, watching as another giant
droplet of rain came flying downtowards the ground.
Trust me, said Gloria, it willbe fine.
So Eliane stepped out and agiant raindrop was flying
straight towards her.
Ah, said Ellie-Anne.
But as the raindrop was aboutto hit her, it was almost like

(05:07):
there was some force fieldaround the outside of her.
It exploded over the top of herhead and sprayed all around her
.
I'm not even wet, saidEllie-Anne.
I know, said Gloria, they'revery, very special rain jackets.
Ellie Anne thought it wasamazing.
She started running around theyard trying to catch the giant
raindrops, but every time onegot close, it would explode into

(05:31):
tiny little raindrops thatwould go everywhere.
All right, said Gloria.
Now it's time for our transport.
Transport, said Ellie Anne.
Yes, said Gloria, hang on.
Gloria turned and she whistledoff into the distance and with
that Ellie Ann could hear somenoises coming towards them.
Are they frogs?

(05:52):
Said Ellie Ann.
Out from behind the bushes, twofrogs jumped right in front of
them.
Whoa, said Ellie Ann.
Hello, hello, said one of thefrogs.
Hello, said the other.
Hi, said Gloria.
Are you able to take us acrossto the other tree on the other
side of the backyard?

(06:13):
Yes, yes, yes, thank you, saidEllie Ann.
Climb on, said Gloria.
So Gloria and Eliane eachclimbed onto the back of a frog.
Hold on, hold on, said thefrogs.
Hold on to what, said Eliane?

(06:33):
Just grab on, said Gloria.
Eliane wrapped her hands aroundthe frog and held on as tight
as she could.
Then it leapt into the sky.
Boing, wow, said Ellie Ann asshe looked down at the whole
backyard.
The frogs started jumping allaround the yard until they got
to the other side of thebackyard, they were at the base

(06:54):
of a big, big tree.
Back again, back again, saidthe frogs.
Not for us, said Gloria.
Quick hop off.
So Eliane and Gloria bothhopped off the frogs.
As they hopped back across thebackyard over to where they had
been and off into the bushes, eliane looked.
There was a hole at the bottomof the tree.

(07:15):
Um, what are we doing here, gloria?
Well, said Gloria.
A friend of mine has been stuckin this hole since the rain
started and I thought that weshould come across and give them
some company.
Oh, that's a great idea, saidEliane.
Peach walked over and knocked onthe edge of the hole at the
bottom of the tree.
As she did, a tiny littlesquirrel poked its head out.

(07:36):
Hello, said the squirrel.
Hi, said Gloria.
Gloria, said the squirrel.
Have you come to keep mecompany?
We have, we, said the squirrel.
The squirrel looked across.
She saw that Ellie-Anne hadcome as well.
Who's this?
Said the squirrel.
Hi, said Ellie-Anne.
My name's Ellie-Anne, andGloria brought me across.

(07:57):
We thought we could keep youcompany.
My name's Ellie-Anne, andGloria brought me across.
We thought we could keep youcompany, said the squirrel.
Sounds fantastic, come in, comein, come in.
So Gloria and Ellie-Anne went inthrough the tiny little hole
into the tree.
When they looked around, it wasincredible.
Inside there was all kinds offurniture made out of pieces of
the tree and funny little pathscarved all the way up it.
Ellie-anne stood in the middleand looked up.

(08:19):
Wow, she said this isincredible.
Yes, said the squirrel, I'veworked very, very hard.
Oh, thank you so much forcoming and keeping me company.
It's been so lonely in the treeall by myself, she said.
We know, said Gloria, it's morefun when you get to do things
with other people.
Who would like a cup ofsquirrel tea, said the squirrel.

(08:41):
Oh, that sounds delicious, saidEliane.
It is delicious, said Gloria.
Me please, Me too, said Eliane.
So they sat down at a table thathad been carved out of the
insides of the tree and thesquirrel started pouring cups of
tea for Eliane and for Gloria.
As they sipped on the tea, itmade Ellie Anne feel kind of
tingly.
This is very, very delicious, she said.

(09:03):
Yes, said the squirrel, it hassuper warming powers for those
very cold days.
I know, said Ellie Anne, I feelso warm and comfortable.
It was lovely.
Ellie-anne, gloria and thesquirrel sat and drank tea and
talked and talked.
All afternoon they even playeda few games like hide and seek
inside the big tree.

(09:23):
It was very fun.
There were lots of differentareas to hide.
But as the day was coming to aclose, ellie-anne looked out the
little hole at the bottom ofthe tree.
Look, she said, the rain itseems to be stopping.
Hooray, said the squirrel.
Hooray said Gloria, we betterget you back home.
She said to Ellie Ann oh yeah,we better go quickly.

(09:44):
Well, said the squirrel, maybeI could give you a very quick
run across the backyard, seeingit's not raining anymore.
Really, said Ellie Ann.
Really said the squirrel, jumpon.
So Ellie Ann and Gloria jumpedon the back of the squirrel and
said the squirrel, jump on.
So Ellie-Anne and Gloria jumpedon the back of the squirrel and
then the squirrel began to run,but not out the hole in the
bottom of the tree, it ran up tothe top of the tree.

(10:04):

actually a flying squirrel.
A flying squirrel, saidEllie-Anne.
Hold on, said Cynthia thesquirrel, and she jumped from
the tree and started to glideacross the whole backyard.

(10:24):
Whoa, said Ellie-Anne, as theyflew and glided all the way
right back to the tiny littlehole that led back inside
Ellie-Anne's bedroom.
Okay, said Cynthia, have fun,I'll see you next time.
And with that, cynthia wentrunning off back through the
backyard.

(10:45):
Gloria and Eliane walked back in.

It was fantastic, said Eliane.
Yeah, said Gloria.
Everything went amazingly.
All right, let me open the gate.
Antony opened the gate andGloria and Eliane walked back
through into Eliane's bedroom.
As soon as they were through, gloria grabbed a hold of

(11:07):
Eliane's jacket.
Quick, take off the jacket.
As she took it off, eliane waswondering why so quick?
I think the smallness is aboutto wear off.
What said Eliane?
And with that, she is about towear off.

And with that she went back tonormal size.
Whoa, that was.
That was incredible.
She crouched down very, verylow.

(11:28):
Thank you, gloria, she saidYou're welcome, said Gloria, as
she jumped back through the holein the wall and ran off through
the backyard.
As Eliane went back over to herwindow to look outside, she
could see the sun that wascreeping through the trees.
Just then her mummy walked intoher room.
Look, eliane, the rain seems tohave stopped.

(11:49):
