Speaker 1 (00:06):
One day, a little boy
named Reed was working in his
house with his parents.
Now, he had been working veryhard to help clean up.
Even his little sister, emery, had been watching as Reed worked
and worked and worked.
He'd cleaned up his entire room.
He'd helped sweep the floors,he'd collected everything, and
now it was time to take therubbish out to the bin.
(00:28):
All right, reed, this is thelast thing, said his parents.
It's time to take the rubbishoutside to the bin.
Do you think you can do it?
Um, I think so, said Reed.
Yes, I definitely can.
So Reed walked over and pickedup the two bags of rubbish.
He popped them over hisshoulder and began to walk
towards the door.
They were actually quite heavy, but he had decided he could
(00:51):
definitely do it.
He walked and he stumbled andhe worked very hard until he got
outside.
He started walking down thedriveway towards the rubbish
bins, but as he was walking, hecould see something up ahead of
him.
There was something that wasgoing through their rubbish bins
.
But as he was walking, he couldsee something up ahead of him.
There was something that wasgoing through their rubbish bin.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Oh, I think it was
this one.
Oh no, no, not that one.
I need more rubbish when can Ifind more rubbish?
Speaker 1 (01:14):
He looked across.
Um, excuse me, who are you?
Oh, said the man at the rubbishbin.
Well, my name is Bonigo.
Bonigo, said Reed.
Oh well, what are you doingwith our rubbish bins?
Well, said Bonigo, I need morerubbish.
Do you have any by any chance?
Well, yes, said Reed, I'mactually bringing out more bags
(01:36):
of rubbish right now.
See, reed swung the bags fromhis shoulder to show Bonigo.
Oh, fantastic.
Hooray, said Benigo.
Why do you need our rubbish, said Reed.
Well, I am working on somethingvery, very important.
Maybe you could help me.
Really, said Reed.
Really, said Benigo, I dodefinitely need the help.
(01:58):
Do you think you would like to?
Reed looked back at the door andhis parents were sticking their
heads outside.
Um, reed looked back at thedoor and his parents were
sticking their heads outside.
Go for it, reed, it could befun.
Um, okay, said Reed, I wouldlove to help.
Hooray, said Benigo, bring thatrubbish and come with me.
Okay, said Reed, but first letme make it a little bit lighter.
How are you going to do that, said Reed.
(02:21):
Benigo pulled out a little funnylooking tank.
He poked a hose inside therubbish bag and gas started to
pour into it.
What are you doing?
It is helium, said Benigo.
It would make it like hot airballoon rubbish bags.
Really, said Reed.
It's working.
He said, as the bag started toalmost float in his hands, quick
(02:43):
, tie it off, okay.
So Reed tied the bags of rubbishup and started to carry them
over with Benigo.
They walked over and Benigo hada very funny looking truck.
Ah, yes, okay, climb into theback of the truck and drop the
rubbish.
Oh, we might need to tie therubbish bags down.
Yes, good idea, said Reed.
So Benigo and Reed workedtogether to tie the rubbish bags
(03:05):
down to the special truck andthen they jumped in to drive.
They started to drive down theroad and Benigo was pressing all
kinds of funny buttons insidethe car.
But Nigo, what are the buttonsthat you're pushing?
Well, I need to activate thetunnel to be able to get to my
very special workshop.
Activate the tunnel tunnel,said reed.
What are you talking about?
(03:26):
As he was asking the question, the road in front of them seemed
to almost split down the middleand it started going down deep
into the ground.
It opened up like some kind ofgigantic trap door.
Whoa, said reed, what'shappening?
This is the secret entrance tomy very special workshop.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Make sure you don't
tell anybody.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
I won't, said Reed,
definitely.
So the truck drove down deepinto the workshop and stopped in
a very strange looking parkinggarage.
Reed climbed out to look around.
This place is strange, saidReed.
Yes, but it is very good forinventing.
Quick, grab the rubbish.
Okay, said Reed.
So Reed grabbed the rubbish bagsand carried them over towards
(04:12):
where Benigo was walking.
When they walked inside, theystepped into Benigo's super
secret workshop.
Wow, said Reed, look at allthese inventions.
There's amazing stuffeverywhere.
I know, said Benigo, I like todo the inventing.
It is one of my favorite thingsin the whole entire world
(04:33):
Coming up with very strange, very fantastic ideas.
But first we need to do thisrubbish making.
What are we making, said Reed.
Well, I have decided to makerubbish robots.
Rubbish robots, said Reed.
What are you going to use thosefor?
Well, it is good to do therecycling and the reusing of the
rubbish.
So I am going to use rubbish tomake robots out of rubbish that
(04:58):
can go out and collect morerubbish to bring to the workshop
.
To build more robots to collectrubbish.
Wow, said Raid, that soundsinteresting.
Yes, it will be veryinteresting.
Quick, pour out all the rubbishhere on this table, but it
could be a bit smelly, said Raid.
Don't worry, hang on, use this.
(05:19):
Spinego handed Raid some kindof special helmet.
He popped it on his head.
Wow, it smells likestrawberries in here.
Yes, this is my auntie's smellyhelmet.
It will get rid of any smells.
Okay, let me have one too.
He popped one on his head andwhen he did, oh no, this is the
very smelly helmet oh no, saidbenigo, running around trying to
(05:39):
pull the helmet off his head.
It smells like pim-pim socks.
Who's pim-pim?
Said raid.
Never mind, said benigo, I needto get this off my head.
He it smells like Pimpin socks.
Who's Pimpin?
Said Reed.
Never mind, said Benigo, I needto get this off my head.
He said, running around theworkshop.
Reed raced over and grabbed thehelmet and tried to pull it off
Benigo's head.
He pulled and he pulled until.
Oh, thank you, said Benigo, that was very smelly.
(05:59):
Now where is the good smellyhelmet?
Oh, yes, it is over here.
Ok, he picked up the secondhelmet and popped it on his head
.
Oh, much better.
Blueberries.
Mine smells like strawberries,said Reed.
There's a little dial on theside.
You can change to any kind ofberries.
Oh, okay, said Reed.
He twisted.
Oh, raspberries, I'll take thatone.
Very good, all right, rubbishtime, said Benigo.
(06:23):
So Benigo and Reed tipped allthe rubbish out on Benigo's
workshop table.
They looked at all the things.
This will be perfect, saidBenigo.
He started grabbing all thelittle bits of rubbish and, with
his screwdrivers and spannersthat he pulled out of his
toolbox, he started putting itall together In what seemed like
no time at all.
There was standing in front ofthem a robot.
(06:44):
Um, is that going to work, saidReed.
Give it a try, said Benigo.
Press the banana peel button.
Um, okay, said Reed.
So Reed stretched forward andpressed the banana peel button
on the front of the robot.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
I am rubbish robot.
I am here to collect rubbish.
Do you have any friends for me?
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Oh yes, said Benigo,
Turn on the second one.
The second one, said Reed.
While Reed had been looking atthe first one, Benigo had
already made a second rubbishrobot.
This one has a yogurt lidbutton.
Press the yogurt lid button.
Um okay, said Reed.
So he pressed the yogurt lidbutton on the second robot.
It came to life.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
I am a rubbish robot.
I am ready to collect rubbish.
Do you have a friend?
Speaker 1 (07:35):
I will be your friend
said the other robot Come on,
let's go.
The two robots actually heldhands and started to skip out of
the workshop.
We should follow them, saidReed.
Definitely, said Benigo, thiscould be very, very fun.
Oh, yes, let's go.
So the robots skipped off aheadand Benigo and Reed followed
(07:55):
along behind as they walked outof the secret entrance to
Benigo's workshop.
The robots got to work.
They raced over to the firsthouse that they could see to
start looking for rubbish.
Raced over to the first housethat they could see to start
looking for rubbish.
They went over to the binsEmpty empty.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
bins are empty, oh no
, what do we do?
What do we do?
What do we do they?
Speaker 1 (08:13):
said Um, benigo, we
might have a problem.
What is that?
Said Benigo.
Well, bin day was yesterday, somost of the bins might be empty
.
Uh-oh, we forgot to put in acontingency.
What's a contingency?
Said Reed.
Um, it is what you do whenthings go wrong, but I'm sure it
(08:35):
will be okay, said Benigo.
Must find rubbish, said thefirst robot.
Maybe rubbish inside, said thesecond robot.
They raced over to the frontdoor and pulled on the front
door, except, instead of pullingon the normal side of the front
door, they pulled on the wrongside and they ripped the front
door right off the house.
What's going on?
(08:55):
Yelled a lady inside, veryworried.
We are rubbish robots, we arelooking for rubbish.
They looked around the house.
That couch looks like rubbish.
That is not rubbish, that's abrand new couch.
It is rubbish.
Quick, grab it.
The two robots started grabbingthe couch and trying to carry
it out through the door.
It's not going to fit out thedoor, said the man.
We will get out the door.
(09:16):
Yes, out the door said the tworobots.
And with that they blasted ahole straight through the front
door to make it big enough tofit the couch through, and they
carried the couch outsidestraight over to Benigo.
We have found more rubbish.
Make more rubbish robots.
No, said Benigo, that is notrubbish, you are breaking things
(09:36):
.
Find more rubbish.
Find more rubbish, said therobots as they raced back into
the house.
What's going on?
Yelled the lady once more.
Stop, put that down, that's notrubbish.
The robots this time had pickedup the man's TV and they were
carrying it out of the house.
Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.
It's not rubbish, said the manDoes not turn on, see, they
pressed the button and nothinghappened.
(09:57):
That's because you unplugged it, said the man.
Rubbish.
They folded the TV in half.
Rubbish, see.
Well, it's rubbish now, saidthe man.
Oh dear, said Benigo.
What do we do, said Reed?
We need to find out a way tostop them.
We need rubbish, said Benigo,or else they will go on making
(10:17):
everything into rubbish.
I've got an idea, said Reed.
Reed looked around very, veryquickly to try and find
something Lucky.
There was a piece of rubbish onthe ground nearby.
He picked it up.
It was a chip packet.
Hopefully this will work, saidReed.
He held it over his head.
Hey rubbish robots, look atthis.
Both the rubbish robots turnedaround and looked at Reed.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Boy has rubbish.
Get boy, get boy.
Rubbish, rubbish, rubbishrubbish.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
And they started
running over towards him.
What now said Benigo?
Run, said Reed.
So Reed and Benigo startedrunning off down the street with
two rubbish robots chasing themfrom behind.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Rubbish, rubbish,
rubbish, rubbish, rubbish,
rubbish, rubbish, rubbish,rubbish, rubbish, rubbish,
rubbish.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
As they ran and they
ran, benigo and Reed turned down
different streets, aroundcorners.
They're catching us, saidBenigo.
Don't you have anything thatcan help us go faster?
Said Reed.
Oh yes said Benigo, thinkingvery quickly.
He reached into the tool bagthat he was carrying and pulled
out two sets of funny lookingwheels.
What are these, said Reed.
Just chuck them on your feet, said Benigo.
(11:25):
So Reed dropped them on theground and jumped on.
It turned out that they weredetachable roller skates.
Wow, they're fast.
As Reed and Benigo now hadtheir special roller skates on,
they zoomed through the streetsall the way to what is this
place, said Benigo.
This is the recycling center, said Reed.
(11:45):
Lucky, it's nearby.
They zoomed in through thegates.
There was a lady there.
I didn't get your weight, shesaid.
Never mind, just wait, saidBenigo, and the two rubbish
robots burst in behind them.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Rubbish, rubbish,
rubbish, rubbish.
Hey said the lady, you need toget weighed first.
Oh, rubbish.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
The two rubbish
robots stopped on the
weighbridge to collect theirweight before they entered.
Then they saw it.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Oh, rubbish.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yes, said Reed, look
at all the rubbish.
Yes, said the lady, we've had alot dumped lately.
We don't know what to do withit all.
Don't worry, said Benigo, wehave the solution.
The two rubbish robots burstinto the middle of the recycling
center and started collectingall the rubbish.
They compacted it and smashedit into tiny little balls and
(12:34):
then collected all the ballsinto one big pile In no time at
all.
They had set it up as a gianttower of balls of rubbish.
What are we going to do withall these balls, said Reed?
I don't know, said Benigo.
The two rubbish robots werestanding there getting ready to
run off and find more rubbish.
Ah, I better stop them quick, said Reed.
(12:54):
He raced over and pressed thebanana button and the yogurt lid
button.
Rub, rub, thank goodness, saidReed.
As Benigo and Reed were staringat the giant pile of tiny little
rubbish balls, they were tryingto work out what to do next.
I wonder, said Reed, he pickedup one of the balls and threw it
(13:15):
to Benigo.
Whoa, said Benigo, jumping outthe way.
What was that for?
Um, I've got an idea.
Can I grab something out yourtool bag?
Sure, said Benigo.
So Reed reached into Benigo'stool bag and pulled out one of
his spanners.
All right, throw me one ofthose balls, he said.
Okay, said Benigo.
So Benigo threw the ball overtowards Reed and Reed smacked it
(13:39):
like a baseball.
It held its shape and it flewinto the air.
It's gonna work, said Reed.
What's going to work, saidBenigo.
We can use these as baseballs.
Oh hooray, said Benigo.
So Benigo and Reed startedcollecting all the balls.
They popped them into bags andstarted carrying them around the
(14:00):
neighbourhood.
They knocked on the doors ofall the houses, and any houses
that had kids, they'd give themone of the special baseballs to
play with.
As they handed out the lastcouple of balls, benigo and Reed
raced back to Benigo's house.
Is there any left, said Reed.
Yes, said Benigo, three left, just for you.
Hooray, said Reed.
(14:21):
He looked at them carefully.
He had a smell.
Hey, benigo, why don't thesesmell?
Oh, because when you compactthe rubbish extra super duper
tight, all the smelliness getssqueezed out and there is none
left.
Wow, that's amazing, said Reed.
I love my new rubbish baseballs.
Thanks, benigo, you are welcome, said Benigo.
(14:42):
I'll see you later.
I better go get my rubbishrobots and hope nobody has
pressed the button.
Yeah, said Reed, I hope not.
As Reed walked back insidecarrying the three new funny
looking baseballs, his parentswere sitting there waiting.
Wow, reed, that looks cool.
Where did you get those from?
Well said Reed, I don't thinkyou'd believe me even if I told
