Speaker 1 (00:05):
One day, three little kids named Riker, riley and
Charlie were all at theplayground.
Now they had been playing onthe monkey bars and swinging on
the swings when all of a sudden, they heard a voice over near
one of the trees.
Um, uh-oh, said the voice.
Who said that?
Said Riley.
I don't know, said Charlie, webetter go check.

(00:25):
So Riker, riley and Charlie allheaded over to the tree to see
what was going on.
When they got there, there wasa panda.
He was holding a funny littletube of something.
Um, excuse me, said Riker.
Uh, yes, said the panda.
What are you doing?
Well, said the panda.

(00:46):
My name is Panda Pete and I havefound something very special,
but I didn't plan on using itexactly as it has been used so
far.
What is it?
Said Riley.
Well, have you ever heard ofsuper glue?
Um, yes, said Charlie.
Well, this is the superest ofsuper glues in the whole entire
world.
Uh-oh, said Riker.
You are most certainly correct, said Panda Pete.

(01:08):
Uh-oh is the correct statement.
So, um, any chance you might beable to help me, help you with
what said Riley?
Well, I seem to have used it onsome things that were not the
right things to use it on, likewhat said Charlie.
Um see, said Panda Pete, as hepointed to the tree.
And there, stuck to the tree, was is that a picnic blanket?

(01:32):
Said Riley.
Um, yes, said Panda Pete.
I was trying to have a picnicand I thought maybe a picnic
would be fun, attached to theside of a tree.
But I didn't really think thatfor me to be able to sit on the
side of the tree, that I wouldalso have to be stuck to the
side of the tree.
But now my picnic blanket isstuck to the tree and I cannot
get it off.
Well, said Charlie, how are weever going to get it off if it's

(01:54):
the most superest of superglue?
Um, well, I'm not too sure.
Maybe we could try stickingsome other things and see if
they can come apart.
Um, that is a really bad idea, said Riker.
Well, that's the trouble.
What said the kids?
See, he held up a baseball batand there on the end of the

(02:15):
baseball bat, stuck to it, was abaseball.
Panda Pete, did you glue thebaseball to the baseball bat?
Well, maybe, he said.
What do you mean?
Maybe, said Charlie.
You see, I had put some of thesuperglue on the baseball and I
planned to throw it and see whathappened.
But before I could throw it, Idropped it down next to the
baseball bat and it got stuck.
Now, I can't play baseball atall, but what were you hoping it

(02:37):
might get stuck to?
Said Riley.
Well, I was hoping to hit theworld's biggest home run, and
when it got stuck at the world'sbiggest home run location, I'd
be able to prove that it was theworld's biggest ever.
That is a ridiculous idea, saidCharlie, I know, said Panda
Pete.
But what are we going to do?
Well, I guess we'll have tofind some way to unstick the
most superest superglue in thewhole entire world, said Riker.

(03:00):
Okay, said Panda Pete.
But how are we going to do that, I don't know?
Said Riley.
Me either.
Said Charlie, hmm, as theystarted to think they were
trying to think of things thatwere the opposite of sticky,
maybe something slimy, saidRiley.
Hmm, maybe, said Riker, thatmight work.
Yeah, said Charlie.
What's the most slimy thing inthe whole entire world?

(03:22):
Um, snails are pretty slimy, ora slug, said Charlie.
Let's find a slug, said PandaPete.
So the kids and Panda Petestarted running around the
playground trying to find a slug.
They were searching in gardenbeds and under trees, and then,
in the middle of a garden bed,I've got one called Riker.

(03:42):
He came out of the bushesholding a slug in his hand and
it's super slimy.
Okay, said Panda Pete.
As they walked back over towhere the picnic blanket was
stuck to the tree, riker wascarrying the slug.
Um, panda Pete, I really don'tthink this is going to work.
Yes, it will, said Panda Pete.
Slimy equals the opposite ofsticky.

(04:05):
So if we get the slug, we'll beable to opposite the stick of
the stickiest, most super superglue in the whole entire world.
This is not going to work, saidCharlie, but sure enough, they
tried anyway.
They brought the slug over tothe picnic blanket.
They held it up.
What do we do now?
Said Riley.
What is that?

(04:25):
Said the slug.
What said Riley?
Can you talk?
Of course I can talk, said theslug.
Um, well, said Charlie, you see, this panda here used the most
superest superglue in the wholeentire world to stick this
picnic blanket to the tree andwe were hoping that your

(04:48):
sliminess might be able tounstick it.
Yeah, that's a good idea, butyou have one problem, said the
slug.
What's our problem?
Said Riley.
You need a lot more slugs.
It said A lot more slugs, saidRiker.
Yes, said the slug bed.
A lot more slugs, said Riker.
Yes, said the slug, we needhundreds of slugs, hundreds and

(05:13):
hundreds and hundreds.
Oh dear, said Panda Pete, ittook us so long just to find you
.
Well, lucky enough, I have alot of friends, said the slug.
Really, said Riley, yes, but weneed to go get them.
Where do we need to get themfrom?
Said Charlie, come with me.

(05:36):
Said the slug as it startedtrying to crawl away.
As the kids watched, the slugslowly moved, very, very slowly,
very, very, very slowly.
This is taking forever, saidPanda Pete.
Can't we get to your friendsany quicker?
This is as fast as I can move, said the slug.

(05:56):
Hmm, what can we do?
As they were sitting watchingthe slug slowly moving along,
all of a sudden they heard avoice behind them.
Maybe I can help.
As the kids turned around, hovering in the air behind them
was a beautiful magic fairy.
Who are you?
Said Charlie.
Hi, I'm Peach, the magic fairy.

(06:17):
Hi, peach, said Riker, what areyou doing here?
Well, said Peach, I heard thatyou were in a bit of a
predicament.
Yeah, said Charlie, we'retrying to follow this slug, but
he's super slow, super, duper, duper slow, said Panda Pete, I
can't help it.
Said the slug.
Well, maybe I can help it.

(06:38):
Said Peach.
How?
Said the kids, try this.
Peach held out a very specialcollar.
It was a very, very small,strange-looking spray bottle.
What is this?
Said Riker.
Try it on the slug, said Peach.
Okay, said Riker.
He walked over.
Excuse me, mr Slug, can I spraythis on you?

(07:01):
Why not?
Said the slug.
Okay, said Riker.
So Riker started to spray theslug and as he did, wow, I feel
very.
The slug took off atastronomical speed.
Where'd he go, said Riley, asthey were talking.
Hey, why aren't you following?

(07:22):
Said the slug.
We didn't see where you went, said Charlie.
Okay, I'll go a little bitslower.
They saw the slug heading offin a direction.
Quick, follow him.
Yeah, follow him.
Said Panda Pete, let's go.
So the kids and Panda Petestarted racing off after the now
super speedy slug.
As they followed, the slug wentaround in circles up a tree,

(07:44):
then back down the tree, andthen it went across the oval
next to the park and when it gotto the other side it went into
somebody's garden.
Um, are we allowed to go inthere?
Said Charlie.
I don't know.
Said Riker, come on.
Said the slug.
Yeah, come on, said Panda Pete, diving into the front garden.
Panda Pete, I know, but itlooks so much fun.

(08:04):
Look at this, bush, I cancompletely disappear Now, you
see me.
Where'd he go?
Said Charlie.
But oh, said Panda Pete.
Whoa, said the kids.
Um, where did the slug go Overhere?
The kids looked over and there, underneath, a very shady plant
was.
Look at them all, said Riker, there has to be hundreds, said

(08:26):
Riley, maybe even thousands, said Charlie Hooray, said Panda
Pete, okay, my friends, we needto do some unsticking of some
supery, dupery, super glue.
Okay, said one of the slugs.
Yeah, we can come.
Okay, follow me, said the firstslug, and he took off.

(08:52):
All the other slugs began tomove very, very slowly.
Maybe spray him with some spray, said Charlie.
Oh, yeah, good idea, said Riker.
So Riker sprayed the spray onall the slugs in the pile.
And then I've got an idea, saidPanda Pete, what's your idea?
Said Charlie, try this, excuseme.

(09:13):
Slugs Um, can I get a lift?
What said one of the slugs?
Um, okay, all of a sudden abunch of slugs formed into a
circle and Panda Pete sat downon top of the circle of slugs.
Let's go.
The slugs took off atastronomical speed.
That looks like fun, said Riley.
Yes, said Charlie, let's go,said Riker.

(09:35):
So circles of slugs appeared andthe kids each sat on a little
circle each and the slugs headedoff at astronomical speed.
The kids were having an amazingtime zooming around on top of
the slugs who went around andover the trees and back under
different ones and around andaround in circles, moving so
quickly until, hey, that's mypicnic blanket, said Panda Pete.

(09:58):
Okay, everybody, it's time, said the slug, and all the slugs
started to work together.
They started to slime and slimenext to the picnic rug on the
tree.
As the slime from all the slugsstarted to drip down behind the
picnic rug, it started to move.
It's working, said Panda Pete.
Hooray, said the kids.

(10:20):
In no time at all, the picnicrug came away from the tree.
Hooray, you've done it, yelledPanda Pete.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, You're welcome, said one of
the slugs.
Um, okay, well, I guess it'spicnic time now, and now I guess
I have some friends who wantsto stay for a picnic.

(10:40):
Hooray called the kids, hooraycalled the slugs.
And so Panda Pete pulled out hispicnic basket and set up a
picnic for everyone.
They all sat down and enjoyedsandwiches and cupcakes and all
kinds of fruit.
It was delicious, they ate andthey talked and they had a

(11:01):
wonderful time.
All right, said Panda Pete, Ibetter be going and we better
get back to our mum, said thekids, I'll see you later, said
Panda Pete.
So Panda Pete ran off.
The slugs went off in theirdifferent directions, slowly
getting slower now that thespray appeared to be wearing off
and the kids headed back home.
As they arrived back at theirhouse, their mum was there

(11:23):
waiting.
Hey kids, she said did you havefun at the park?
What did you do?
She said Well, said Riley, Idon't think you'd believe us,
even if we told you.
And that is the end of thestory.
