Speaker 1 (00:05):
One day two little
kids named Joey and Tommy were
sitting in their front room.
They were looking out thewindow watching all the cars go
past.
There was lots of differentcars, and they decided to play a
game where they'd pick thecolour of a car that they were
looking for and if they found it, they would yell spotter, let's
make it yellow, said Joey.
Okay, said Tommy.
(00:26):
They watched and watched.
I see one, said Tommy.
Oh, yeah, I mean spotter.
Okay, you win.
All right, what colour shouldwe do next?
As they were looking out thewindow, all of a sudden a very
big truck started to drivestraight towards their house.
Tommy, does that truck looklike it's coming here?
(00:47):
It does, said Tommy.
Where do you think it's comingfrom?
Said Joey.
I don't know.
As the truck got closer, theycould see inside the front
window.
Um, tommy, yes, joey.
Um, is there a teddy beardriving that truck?
Honk, honk, went the truck asit pulled up out the front of
(01:09):
their house.
The boys raced outside.
When they got out there, theteddy bear climbed out of the
front seat.
Hey, are you Joey?
Um yes, said Joey.
And are you Tommy?
Um yes, said Tommy.
Who are you?
Oh, I'm Teddy Winkle, and I haveheard that you kids are looking
for something fun to do.
Well, we are, said Tommy.
(01:31):
Well, we were playing a game, said Joey, where we picked
different coloured cars.
Oh, that sounds like fun.
But do you guys want to comehelp me do some deliveries?
Really, said the boys.
Really, said Teddy Winkle, jumpin the Teddy Winkle truck.
Oh, that sounds like fun.
Okay, the boys raced around tothe side of the truck.
The truck was huge.
They had to climb up a littleladder to be able to get to the
(01:53):
cabin.
Then, when they opened the doorand looked inside, whoa, look
at all this, said Tommy.
Yeah, said Teddy Winkle as heclimbed in the other side.
If you're driving a truck, youneed all the fun things.
They looked around.
There was a cupboard thatseemed to be full of food, a
fridge that had some juice boxesin there, and then there was
even all kinds of colourful, funny lights and funny looking
(02:13):
buttons.
This is going to be fun.
Jump in, put on your seatbuckles, said Teddy Winkle.
Okay, said the boys.
So they jumped in their seatsand buckled up.
All right, here we go, joey, can you pull that rope just
there?
Okay, said Joey.
And when he pulled the rope, went the truck.
Wow, that's fun.
Can I have a turn?
(02:34):
Said Tommy.
Of course, said Teddy Winkle.
Went the truck.
The boys laughed this is somuch fun.
Here we go, said Teddy Winkle,as the truck started to drive
away from their house.
As they were driving along theroad, tommy turned to Teddy
Winkle.
Um, teddy Winkle, where are wegoing?
Well, first we got to do alittle bit of a pickup.
(02:55):
What are we picking up, saidTommy.
You'll see, said Teddy Winkle,as they drove along the road,
they pulled into what lookedlike some kind of strange
looking farm.
They drove down a very longdriveway and Teddy Winkle pulled
up the front.
Pull that horn one more time, kids.
All right, they said Bop wentthe truck and as it did, the
(03:16):
doors of the big barn of thefarm opened up and out came
something very, very strange.
Yee-haw, out came galloping abunch of building blocks,
building blocks with legs.
What are those, said Joey.
Yes, said Tommy.
What is that?
They're building blocks, saidTeddy Winkle.
Why do they have legs and whyare they galloping around like
(03:39):
horses?
I don't know, said Teddy Winkle, we're just the delivery
drivers.
But, um, maybe they might needsome help.
They looked out the window.
There was a man running aroundtrying to catch all the building
blocks.
They were running everywhere.
Help, help, yelled the man.
I told you he definitely needsour help.
Come on, boys, let's go.
So Teddy Winkle, joey and Tommyall jumped out of the truck.
(03:59):
How can we help?
Said Teddy Winkle.
Joey and Tommy all jumped outof the truck.
How can we help, said TeddyWinkle.
We've got to catch all thesebuilding blocks.
They've got loose.
How do we catch them?
Said Joey.
Um, um, maybe just tackle themand try and hold on.
All right, said Tommy, let's go.
The boys and Teddy Winkle racedoff and all started chasing
(04:22):
after the different buildingblocks.
Joey grabbed a hold of one andjumped on top.
Wow, he said, as the buildingblock kept galloping around the
yard.
He held on tight and then aimedit towards the truck.
Open the truck, teddy Winkle,he yelled.
All right, said Teddy Winkle.
He raced over and opened theback of the truck.
A big ramp came down and herode the building block straight
(04:43):
into the back and when he didit, sat down and stopped.
It's working.
Come on, let's catch the others, I'm gonna catch one too, said
Teddy Winkle.
He jumped on one of thebuilding blocks.
Wow, he said, as it bucked himaround and he was getting thrown
all over the place.
But he held on tight andgalloped the building block all
the way into the back of thetruck.
(05:05):
As Teddy Winkle and the boyscaught the building block all
the way into the back of thetruck, as Teddy Winkle and the
boys caught the building blocksone by one, they rode them all
back inside the truck untilthere was a beautifully stacked
pile of all the blocks at theend of the truck.
Well done, said the man.
You guys are very talented atthat.
Thanks, said Tommy.
Yeah, said Joey, that was a lotof fun.
I might take one more out for aquick ride.
Me too, said Tommy.
(05:25):
And they jumped back in theback of the truck, grabbed one
building block each and went forone more short, little, very
fun ride.
Then, when they loaded it backup, they waved All right, said
Teddy Winkle, we better getgoing.
We got to get these to the toyshop, but before we do we need
to pick up a few more things.
More things, said Tommy.
Yeah, said Teddy Winkle, we'renot just delivering building
(05:47):
blocks, we need to find theother things as well.
Let's go.
So the boys and Teddy Winkledrove off from the farm and they
waved as they went out thedriveway.
Where are we going next?
Teddy Winkle said Tommy.
Well, said Teddy Winkle, we'reoff to the racing track.
The racing track, said Joey, what are?
(06:07):
Well, we've got to pick up thetoy cars.
Toy cars, said Tommy.
I love toy cars, me too.
Said Joey, let's go.
Honk, honk.
Who pulled the horn?
That was me, said Tommy.
Good job, let's go.
They drove the truck around andaround until they started to
approach the place and theycould hear the cars going round
(06:29):
and around Meow, meow, meow,meow.
Um, teddy Winkle, said Tommy, yes, tommy, um, those don't look
like toy cars, they look likefull-size cars.
Well, every toy car starts offas a full-size car.
You just got to shrink it down.
What said Joey?
Yeah, didn't you know that?
(06:50):
No, said Tommy.
Yeah, we just got to get thevery special shrink ray and use
it on these race cars.
And then we got to put them inthe boxes and get them in the
back of the truck.
Okay, said the boys, where'sthe shrink ray?
Here it is, said Teddy Winkle,as he pulled one out from one of
the cupboards inside the cabinof the truck.
All right, boys, here's one foryou, tommy, and then Teddy
(07:12):
Winkle pulled out another one,and one for you, joey.
Uh, okay, so what do we do?
Well, head out to the racetrackand then just start blasting
cars.
Whichever one you get, it'llshrink down, and then grab it
and put it in a box.
Uh okay, they said.
It seemed like a very fun idea.
So the two boys went with theirshrink rays out towards the
(07:32):
racing track.
They could see the cars flyingaround at top speed.
Hey, those cars don't have anydrivers, said Joey.
Of course not, said TeddyWinkle.
They're toy giant cars.
Oh, okay, let's get them.
So the boys pointed their shrinkrays at the different cars and
as they started to shoot, one ofthe cars got shrunk down to toy
(07:54):
size.
Tommy went over and picked itup and put it in a box.
It works, he said.
Of course it works, said TeddyWinkle.
My turn, said Joey.
He blasted his shrink ray overat another one.
He picked it up and popped itin the box.
It's working, this is so muchfun.
Yeah, said Tommy, uh-oh, trip.
Tommy tripped over and as he did, he pointed the shrink ray
(08:16):
straight towards Teddy Winkle.
Beesh, no, uh-oh, said Joey.
I think you shrunk, teddyWinkle.
I think I did.
What do we do now?
I'm gonna get you, said TeddyWinkle, make me big again.
Um, we don't know how to makeyou big again, said Tommy.
Use the reverse mode on theshrink ray, said Teddy Winkle.
(08:37):
Oh, okay.
So they found the reverseswitch on the shrink ray and
they pointed it at Teddy Winkle.
Oh, that was wild.
I didn't like being teeny tiny.
Yeah, sorry, teddy Winkle, comeon, let's zap all the cars.
So the boys kept zapping theirshrink rays and were very
careful to only hit the carsthis time.
(08:58):
Once they had collected enoughand filled all the boxes that
they had, they carried them overto the truck.
All right, said Teddy Winkle,we got to get these to the toy
shop.
Let's go.
All right, said the boys.
Um, joey, yes, said Joey.
Do you want to turn it?
What, said Joey?
(09:18):
Yeah, why not?
Said Teddy Winkle.
It's a very special truck.
It's designed so that anybodyis allowed to drive it.
Oh, okay.
So Joey climbed into thedriver's seat of the truck and
started driving down the road.
It was amazing.
The truck was very easy todrive.
He could keep it perfectly inthe lane as they drove down the
(09:42):
road.
All right, I'm going to pullthe horn.
This time he pulled the horn, went the truck.
The boys both laughed.
Which way do I go?
Said Joey, um, follow thesatellite navigation.
Where's the satellitenavigation?
Said Joey.
Um, well, it's actually asmell-a-light navigation.
(10:03):
A smell-a-light yeah?
Um, hang on, I'll turn it on.
Teddy Winkle flicked a switch onthe truck and then all of a
sudden, oh that smells nice, said Joey.
That means you're going in theright direction.
Oh, okay, what happens if Iturn?
Joey started to turn the truck.
Oh, that stinks, said Joey.
(10:23):
That means you're going in thewrong direction.
I like smell a lot Navigation.
The boys laughed, and so Joeyfollowed his nose.
Whenever things smelled good,he kept heading that direction.
But as soon as it started tosmell bad Teddy Winkle, did you
take your shoes off?
That stinks.
No, turn the truck.
They would straighten up andturn until things smelt good
(10:45):
again.
As they continued along the roadthey could see it the giant toy
shop.
Wow, said Tommy, that is thebiggest toy shop I have ever
seen.
Yeah, said Joey, it's ginormous, and this is where we're going.
Pull up.
Just over there.
They pulled up the truck in theloading bay and Joey reversed
(11:06):
the truck right up to the shopwhen they opened the back of it
out, galloped all the buildingblocks.
Yeehaw, the building blocksstarted bouncing out out of the
truck and running into the toyshop.
Uh-oh, said Tommy, don't worry,said Teddy Winkle, they're used
to that around here.
They looked inside the toy shop.
Uh-oh, said Tommy, don't worry,said Teddy Winkle, they're used
to that around here.
They looked inside the toy shopand there were all the workers
with lassoos roping up all thebuilding blocks and putting them
(11:30):
in the right location.
Then they came and collectedall the toy cars and they put
them in a very, very, very bigarea.
Why is the area so big for thistiny thing of toy cars?
Well, we're not gonna leavethem teeny tiny, said Teddy
Winkle.
What said Tommy?
What are you talking about, shrink ray, please?
Teddy Winkle pointed the shrinkray at all the tiny toy cars
(11:54):
and they went back to full sizecars.
Teddy Winkle, what?
That's not a toy car?
Yes, it is, said Teddy Winkle.
No, toy cars are meant to besmall, like they were.
No, toy cars are meant to bebig.
How else are you meant to siton top of it and do laps around
the crazy racetrack?
Oh dear, said the boys.
I think we misunderstood.
(12:14):
All right, boys, the shop's notopen yet, and you know what
that means.
Um, we have to leave, said Joey.
No, said Teddy Winkle.
It means we get to play withall the toys before they open.
Come on.
Teddy Winkle went running offinto the toy shop and the boys
followed.
The toys in the shop were quitedifferent to the toys that they
(12:35):
had played with before.
There was board games thatwould stand up and dance every
time you moved your piece.
There was dolls that would walkaround and then do cartwheels
before doing a backflip intotheir sleeping beds.
There was teddy bearseverywhere.
Hello, boys, said Teddy Winkle.
Teddy Winkle, hooray, oh, mygoodness.
(12:55):
All the teddies seem to knowTeddy Winkle.
Yeah, they're all my friends.
It's good fun coming andhanging out at this toy shop.
Hey, try this one.
Teddy Winkle threw a frisbeeover towards the boys, but as he
threw it it split into sevenpieces, which all started
spinning around the boys aroundand around and around, and then
it reformed into one frisbee andlanded in Tommy's hand.
(13:17):
Whoa, said Joey.
That was cool, throw it to me.
Tommy threw the frisbee to Joeyand it split into eight pieces
this time.
Wow, that's amazing.
And you know what, said TeddyWinkle, you boys can take that
one home, really, they said.
Really, speaking of home, webetter get you there.
(13:37):
Come on.
And this shop's about to open.
I don't want to get sold.
All right, said the boys, letCome on.
And this shop's about to open.
I don't want to get sold.
All right, said the boys, let'sgo.
They raced back towards thetruck and they jumped in.
This time Tommy got to driveand he drove them all the way
home using the smell-o-lightnavigation.
Oh, that stinks.
Oh no, that time it was me,said Teddy Winkle.
The boys all laughed.
(14:06):
When they pulled up at the frontof the house, the boys climbed
out.
Thanks, teddy Winkle, that wasreally fun.
Thanks for all your help.
I don't think I could have doneit without you.
All right, I'll see you nexttime, said Teddy Winkle.
Bye, said the boys as theywalked back towards their house.
When they walked in the frontdoor, their mum was there
waiting.
