Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning. This is sen seven World News in seven minutes.
I'm Juliet Martin and today is Thursday, the fourth of
December twenty twenty five. Starting in Africa today. In Kenya,

(00:29):
a parliamentary inquiry has accused British troops on training missions
of a pattern of harmful activity that could be seen
as an occupying presence. The committee has accused soldiers from
the British Army Training Unit Kenya of sexual misconduct and

(00:53):
environmental harm. Britain's Defense Ministry has said it is prepared
to investigate allegations once evidence is provided. In Libya, a
suspect of war crimes has asked the International Criminal Court
to release him. Khaled Mohammad Ali al Hshri is charged

(01:17):
with crimes against humanity, including murder, torture and rape. In Tunisia,
police have arrested opposition figure Ayachi Hamami at his home.
According to Reuters, he is convicted of conspiracy against state

(01:39):
security and faces a five year prison sentence. Last week,
a court issued sentences to dozens of opposition leaders on
charges of conspiracy against President. Kayus said Asia peace talks

(02:00):
between Pakistan and Afghanistan have failed to reach an agreement,
according to officials. Talks were held in Saudi Arabia last weekend.
According to reports, both sides have agreed to maintain their ceasefire,
but a longer term arrangement has not been agreed. Thailand

(02:26):
has seized more than three hundred million dollars in assets
and issued arrest warrants for forty two high profile people
as part of an effort to counter regional scam networks.
The border between Thailand, me and Mah and Cambodia is

(02:47):
one part of Southeast Asia that has become a hub
for online fraud and criminal networks. The America Yes Mexico
will increase the minimum wage and aim to reduce the
work week. According to Labor Minister Marath Bolanos, the minimum

(03:13):
wage will rise by thirteen percent. President Claudia Schinbaum said
the decision was made after consulting with the Finance Ministry,
the Central Bank, and the business community. She said for
years it was said that the minimum wage couldn't go up,
that it would cause inflation, that there would no longer

(03:36):
be investment in the country, and we are at a
record level of foreign investment. United Nations Secretary General Antonio
Guterrez has said there was something fundamentally wrong with how
Israel conducted its military operation in the Gaza Strip. As

(04:00):
told Reuters, there are strong reasons to believe that war
crimes were committed. He also commented on Russia's war in Ukraine.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
When we look at a conflict, the solution of the
conflict should abide by international law, which means the Charter
and which means the respect for the territory integrity of states.
When I see what's happening, there is one agreement made
with Russia, then there is one agreement made with Ukraine.

(04:33):
The two are not compatible. Then they go again to Russia,
and then sincerely, I believe we are still far from
a solution.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Europe. Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has called for the government
to resign. Earlier this week, the government canceled its twenty
twenty six budget after nationwide protests. In an address on
state television, Radoff said Bulgaria needs a real change that

(05:05):
will lead to the rule of law and the restoration
of statehood, and that is something that the current governing
coalition cannot achieve. He said that the government has failed
to meet the country's expectations and an early election is
the only way forward. German President Frank Walter Steinmeier arrived

(05:31):
in Britain yesterday for a three day state visit. This
is the first state visit by a German president for
twenty seven years. Steinmeier was greeted by British King Charles
and later hosted by Prime Minister kir Starmer and Researchers

(05:53):
have found that domestic cats first entered Europe only around
two thousand dar years ago, early in the Roman Empire.
They were probably brought by sailors to hunt mice on
trade ships. Previously, researchers believed that cats were domesticated in
Europe six thousand or seven thousand years ago, when farmers

(06:18):
from the Near and Middle East arrived. The study used
genetic data from cat remains in ninety seven archaeological sites
around Europe and the Near East and present day cats,
analyzing two hundred and twenty five cat bones from up
to ten thousand years ago. That's your world news in

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
