I'm Nile More. Today is Tuesday, the twenty third of
September twenty twenty five. Today we're starting in Europe. Two

(00:22):
German fighter jets were sent to intercept a Russian military
plane over the Baltic Sea yesterday. Russian drones or aircraft
have entered NATO airspace three times in the last two weeks,
and this latest incident has increased tensions at the United Nations.

(00:46):
The Security Council called an emergency meeting to talk about
Russia flying over NATO countries. During that meeting, Radoslav Sikorski,
the Polish Foreign Minister, and Eva at Cooper, the British
Foreign Minister, both said they were willing to quote confront

Russian aircraft in NATO airspace. In Italy, yesterday, tens of
thousands of people joined protests against the war. In Gaza,
many trade unions had called on workers to go on strike,
causing nationwide disruption by shutting down public transport, roads and

even ports. Africa, in Egypt, a mass grave has been
discovered in the Sinai region. The Sinai region has seen
ten years of fighting between the Egyptian army and militants
connected to Islamic state. The mass grave, which is believed

to contain hundreds of bodies, was discovered by an NGO
called the Sinai Foundation for Human Rights, who you are
investigating the deaths and disappearances of civilians during the conflict.
Botswana has become the first African country to win the

four by four hundred meter men's relay race at the
World Athletics Championships, which this year are in Tokyo, Japan.
Botswana's President Duma Boko called the victory a quote historic
African win and announced a national public holiday to celebrate Americas.

In the United States, world leaders have gathered in New
York City for the eightieth United Nations General Assembly, which
begins today. Over the next seven days, representatives from all
one hundred and ninety three member countries will discuss everything

from global trade to climate change to war and conflict.
Also at the United Nations, France became the latest country
to formally recognize the state of Palestine. In a speech
to the General Assembly on Monday evening, French President Emmanuel

Macron called the recognition of Palestine the quote only solution
that will allow for Israel to live in peace. In Brazil,
people across the country protested yesterday against a new bill
that could pardon former president Jair Bolsonaro. Earlier this month,

Bolsonaro was sentenced to twenty seven years in prison for
plotting a coup, but his supporters in the lower house
of Brazil's National Congress are trying to pass a new
law that would pardon him and make it more difficult
to arrest politicians in the future. In a post on

social media, the Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva
said that he supported the protests, which quote show that
the population does not want impunity or amnesty. President Lula
also said he would veto the bill if it gets

passed by Brazil's Senate, Asia and Oceania. The Israeli Prime
Minister Benjamin Nettinyahoo has responded after the United Kingdom, Canada,
Australia and Portugal all formally recognized the state of Palestine

on Sunday, Israeli officials are unhappy that countries which they
considered to be allies are showing such strong support for Palestine.
Prime Minister Nettigna, who accused these countries of making a mistake.
I have a clear message to those leaders who recognize

a Palestinian state after the terrible massacre of October the seventh,
you are giving a huge prize to terrorism, and I
have another message for you. It will not happen. There
will be no Palestinian state. And near the South Pacific

island of New Caledonia, for the very first time, scientists
have filmed leopard sharks having a quote threesome. The sharks,
