twenty twenty four. Starting in Europe today in Germany, the

far right anti immigration party AfD Alternative for Germany won
the most votes and seats in the Turingian state election.
Many media sources are describing this as the first time
a far right party has won a state parliament election
in Germany since World War II. One point two million

people voted in Turingia's state election on Sunday, and thirty
three percent of them voted for the AfD, far more
than the center right CDU, which came second with twenty
four four The only other state which had an election
on Sunday was Saxony, which is also in Germany's East.

The AfD have said that they must be included in
coalition negotiations in both states. However, most other parties have
