(00:26):
civilians on Sunday. The accident happenedin the northern Kaduna State, where Nigeria's
army is fighting Islamist jihadist groups andlocal bandits. Kaduna Governor Ubersani has said
that civilians were mistakenly killed by amilitary drone that was targeting quote terrorists and

(00:48):
bandits. One local man told theBBC that two bombs were dropped where people
were gathering for a religious festival onSunday night, and Bola Tinubu has called
the accident disturbing and painful and hasordered an investigation. In Zambia, rescue

(01:10):
operations are continuing for a group ofminers that are trapped in a mine because
of a mud slide. It isnot known how many miners are inside because
the mine was informal, with minersworking for themselves. Europe, France's parliament
has voted to ban single use electroniccigarettes or vapes. The proposal to ban

(01:38):
vapes now needs to be approved bythe Senate and be approved by the European
Union Commission. In Spain, theBasque country has given a fine to a
chain of cinemas for not allowing peopleto bring their own food and drink into
the cinema. The Basque Consumer theFair's department said that Yelmo did not have

(02:04):
the right to disallow people from enteringwith their own food and drink because the
primary activity of a cinema is toshow films, not provide food. Asia
Israel has told more people in southernGaza to move, saying that it will
be targeting more areas in khn Unice. Many of the people forced to move

(02:30):
are already displaced people from northern Gaza. Israel's army has said that its ground
offensive in North Gaza is almost complete. This week, Israel's army has been
entering more parts of South Gaza, and air strikes have destroyed many buildings.
The Gaza Health Ministry, which iscontrolled by Hamas, says that at least

(02:53):
sixteen thousand Palestinians have been killed sinceOctober seven, when Hamas entered Israel and
killed over one thy two hundred Israelis, mostly civilians, and took many hostages.
Despite controlling less and less of theGaza strip, Hamas is still firing
rockets into Israel. Yesterday, UnitedStates National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that

(03:17):
the US expected Israel to avoid civiliandeaths. What Israel has done is it
said this is the area where weare going to conduct ground maneuver. Please
everybody move out of this area sothat you're not going to be caught in
the crossfire. They have also indicatedthat there are areas where there will be
no strike zones, and in thosezones, we do expect Israel to follow

(03:38):
through on not striking. In Indonesia, at least twenty two people are believed
to have died because of the eruptionof volcano Mount Marapi. The volcano in
West Sumatra erupted on Sunday and Monday. Police have described the victims as mountain

(04:48):
that over ten million people voted ina referendum on Sunday, which asked people
whether Guyana's region of Essequibo should becomea Venezualen province. Venezuela's National Electoral Council
said that ten point four million Venezuelansvoted, over half of eligible voters,

(05:08):
and that ninety five percent voted forSekibo to become Venezuelan. Many analysts have
said that the results are fabricated andthat probably only one million people actually voted.
Independent sources in Venezuela said that votingstations were very quiet. Since Nicolas

(05:29):
Maduro became president over ten years ago, his government has been widely accused of
falsifying elections, and Maduro has oftenbeen described as a dictator. Asakiba is
a territory which makes up two thirdsof Guyana. However, Venezuela's government says
that historically it should have been partof Venezuela. Assakiba has been generally recognized

(05:55):
as part of Guyana since eighteen ninetynine. Guyana gained independence from the United
Kingdom in nineteen sixty six. Speakingto CBS News yesterday, Guyana's President Mohammad
irfan Ali said that the borders weresettled in eighteen ninety nine and said that
Maduro's governments is using a Sekibo asa distraction from its internal problems. I

(06:19):
want to make it very clear thatthe borders were settled in eighteen ninety nine.
Venezuela and then British Can participated fullyin the settlement of this border.
They both agreed on the border.Venezuela is faced with many challenges, political
challenges, democratic challenges, and challengeswithin a society itself. Many believe that

(06:43):
this is a distraction, but weare taking this very seriously because of the
narrative that is coming out of Venezuela, the threat that comes out of Venezuela,
Trinidad and Tobago opposition leader Caame LaPersad Bisisar warned the President Maduro that
Trinidad and two Bago stands with Guyana. My clare message Tomaduro tonight is if

you interfere with the Ghanish people, you interfere with the people of Trinidad and
Tobago. You touch one and youtouch all. We fully support the people
of Ghana in this crisis and inthe United States. The newest member of
