Okay, um hello, hello
Welcome to.
Sister Shit.
Happy New Year.
Happy New Year, um, I have novoice.
What?
Speaker 2 (00:15):
happened to your
voice?
I don't know.
It's been gone since ChristmasEve.
Oh, that's true.
Okay, before we get started wehave something really special.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
We want to read you
guys, um, um, just to kick off
this New Year's, this New Year.
Should we explain what it is?
I'm going to read it first andthen we can explain.
Well, no, I'll explain it first.
This is a status.
This is a very inside joke thatwe're just going to let you
guys in on.
One of our very best friends in2013 posted the status on her
(00:49):
Facebook and has posted the samestatus every single year, like
on New Year's day, ever since, and today is the 10th year.
He's not doing it again, sowe're going to have it live on
forever on our podcast as well.
Okay, 2013.
Wow, what can I say?
(01:11):
This year has been full of somany positive changes in my life
.
I dedicated the majority of2013 to becoming a parkour
master, which taught me never togive up on my dreams.
Even though, ultimately, Idecided it wasn't for me due to
some severe injuries, I valueevery flip and kick.
I also finally met the love ofmy life, doritos Locos Taco
Supreme.
Unfortunately, this year hasalso had its tragedies.
(01:32):
That time, I lost my cool in aheated game of checkers and last
shout out a good friend who didnot deserve that.
Also, I ended my long-termrelationship with the love of my
life, doritos Locos TacoSupreme.
But these things have only mademe stronger and I embraced the
lessons they've provided.
Overall, 2013 can be summed upwith my favorite quote I get
knocked down, but I get up againand you're never going to keep
(01:53):
me down.
Chubba Womba Hashtag blessedHashtag oh my gosh, so blessed.
Hashtag.
Feeling good.
Hashtag 2014 Hashtag memoriesHashtag.
Chubba Chumbawomba.
Hashtag parkour.
So end of an era.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
End of an era.
I think just like so funnybecause back in 2013, people
were like putting all of theirNew Year's resolutions in their
Facebook status and so it, like, was so relevant then and now
it's like no one does betterthan.
I know at least.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
I know, I kind of
forgot.
That's why she started doing it.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Yeah, everyone is
like this is my year.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Well, now everyone
does like the video, like we're
all seeing everyone's reels oftheir year.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Yeah, everyone
deserves like this.
It's just evolved.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Which are they're fun
to see.
I didn't do one this year.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
I do not do that.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
I know.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I try to make one for
Christmas.
I've been a draft of my phone.
I like to get chew in my headabout it, and then I just never
post it.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Yeah, it's okay
because, remember, we're getting
off social media.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Wait, we all.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
I mean we talked
about how that's our solution to
liking the internet again Inour internet episode yeah, and
our free feels about socialmedia, okay.
So yeah, I hope everyone ishaving a great start to their
new year.
I feel no feelings about lastyear.
(03:30):
I feel optimistic about thisyear.
I mean last year actually.
No, last year was great.
I just I feel like I have beencoasting through the holiday
break and I am ready to get backon the horse.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
That's great.
Mine is feeling like a littlelike it's ended too soon.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Oh, really, well, you
did a lot.
We were at the house, oh yeah, the entire time, and it rained a
lot and I am so over it.
Yeah, so, although I have beenin, pajamas for a long time, and
I am now, and that's been nice.
We've been sleeping in too.
(04:07):
Our kids are now the ages likethey get up and fix themselves
and bowl cereal, turn oncartoons, and we've been letting
them do that every day of thebreak, and it's been amazing.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah, anyway, I was
gone this week and then got to
sleep in.
And I came back and mymother-in-law was like, yeah,
Sim slept in so well for us.
He stayed in his bed until like6 30 and then like on one.
That's when I came back to him.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Is that?
I wonder how early he gets up.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yeah, that's how we
typically that's how early he
always gets up.
But whenever he's at Susan's atmy, his grandparent's house, he
gets in there, but at like 5.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Oh dang, oh, that's
rough.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
I know Speaking of
Sim Sure, okay, continue, I'm
going to help you out.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Okay, so what are
your New Year's resolutions?
Do you do write New Year'sresolutions?
Speaker 2 (05:12):
I do.
I don't.
I always get okay.
So I always get kind ofembarrassed about it, because
one time I like was going on andon about how much I love New
Year's resolutions and I hadsomeone be like I think that
they're stupid.
Like if you have a goal, justgo ahead and do it.
I need to wait for the new year.
Oh, I'm like true, but they'refun.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
It's like a tie, I
don't know.
The time stamp is like helpfuland like feeling refreshed.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
I think it's like
ritualistic yeah, recognizing
the amount of time has passedand like what we've accomplished
and yeah, I don't know, Ireally like it.
So Jay and I came back from themountains today and on our
drive back we like were glazedover and so tired for most of it
, but we finally got some energyto be like okay, what are our
(06:02):
New Year's resolutions?
So we like broke them intocategories and, like I get
really into it.
Categories yeah, we have likefinancial family.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Oh, my gosh, caroline
, you are doing the most I like
doing the most.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Do you do that every
year, kind of yeah, I didn't
talk to you about this.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
This is new
information.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
I know I always make
like really big goals and I
don't always have them, but lastyear I did.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
What were they last
year?
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Not the financial one
, but I never have.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Yeah, those are tough
.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
But like I wanted to
do, like yoga consistently for
an entire year.
Yeah, good for you and a coupleother like career focused ones.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, do you have any
you want to share with for this
year?
I don't have to.
I'm putting you on the spot.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
I know I'm like I
don't know.
Same way, I like want tocontinue yoga.
I want to like get better, likeI feel like last year I just
like my goal was consistency.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
I think this year my
goal will be like progress.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
That's awesome I.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Also wanted to do
climbing warm.
I think generally, jai and Iwere just saying we want to like
, do more things like yeah.
I I've still just feel like acoin, but I've never played
pickleball, yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Oh yeah, it's so fun.
Can we do it?
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Yeah, I'm really okay
, listen I.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Why.
This is what I say to everyonethat I talk about pickleball
with.
But I am bad at ping pong andI'm bad at tennis, but for some
reason I'm Decent at pickleball.
It's so fun.
Okay, I want to play it.
That that's my other goal.
So we try to.
I know I'm like how do we makethat happen, but I would love to
(07:54):
do that in your driveway.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Your driveway is big
enough.
We should find a court.
I Want to power wash yourdriveway.
Cannot be my new year'sresolution.
Yeah To power wash yourdriveway.
Yeah, Fun fact about me.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
I loved Everyone had
like a little crisis, like a
little career crisis, at onepoint this year and she was like
I'm gonna start a power washingcompany.
I Was for you doing that.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
I know you really
talked me through that one and
then it was like 15 minutes in,you were like it's gonna be cold
soon and I was like, oh yeah, maybe in the summer put some
posters, like fully imaginingyou just being like a freaking
power washing tycoon, taking thesoutheast by storm.
I mean it's not totally out ofthe Out of the idea books yet.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Yeah, so in there.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Maybe this summer
I'll do like a side hustle.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Go for it, girl.
Your forearms will be.
I'm not paying you.
What was I?
Yeah, I don't have resolutionsthis year.
I feel like mine.
I kind of stopped doing them.
But we did little wish cards.
I found this really cutecompany that's based in the UK
(09:12):
and they do.
They say I think they juststarted with like wish.
They're just like little cardsthat have a match on them and
like a striker and a little tinylittle like wick, and so you
like light the, like the littlecandle on the piece of paper and
blow it out.
But then they startedcollaborating with illustrators,
so they'll have like.
(09:34):
Now they're like really cute,so they'll have I think they
have like a wish on it.
No, you just like say the wish.
I think it's like it'd be likea cute thing to like mail
someone for their birthday oryou know, like they're very cute
.
But I got every one one, forthere are stockings this year
and we ended up doing them.
We'd like did the wish today, and so I feel like that was kind
(09:54):
of my New Year's resolutionmoment, but I don't know.
I'm in a weird place right nowwhere I I have.
I think this is kind of how Ialways am.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
I always have like
goals that I don't speak out
loud.
It's namely for like my job, like anytime, or like when I was
in school, I did this when Iwas like now, like now, painting
, I do this.
But I like have like internalMile markers, kind of for like,
if I can get, if I can do this, like, oh, I don't know, like I
(10:27):
don't know, I just feel like ithelps me to have, but I'm scared
to speak them out loud.
I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
No, I think that
that's okay, but you shouldn't
speak them out loud like toyourself.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yeah, I know I need
to get better about like
believing them.
I think I kind of like placethem on my little in my brain is
like, ooh, this would be coolif this happened.
And then subconsciously I'mlike, and then I'd be legit, but
I'm scared to like reallybelieve it until it's actually
happening.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
I'm the same way and
I also like, don't want to, like
, fail, so I just won't saysomething.
Yeah here, because if thisdoesn't happen, I if I say it
out loud and it doesn't happenit will be like official failure
.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Yeah, I know, maybe
that's what it is to you.
Yeah, mine this year is more oflike a mindset I want to.
I I'm just thinking like Ireally want to grow in
confidence without othersapproval, like I love that not
letting my confidence be basedoff of how other people or I
(11:26):
don't know like I Like, want itto be from inside.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
I love that, I think
that's great.
I think everyone can use moreof that.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
I know.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Art's hard.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
It's like such a
weird thing because I do feel
like so much of it like buildinga career as an artist does feel
a little bit like the thingsthat make you feel Legit as an
artist are people being like Iwant to work with you.
So it's like Finding thatbalance like how do I pursue
those same things with like adifferent mindset?
(11:57):
You know, yeah, yeah, so yeahanyway.
Vulnerable moment Love it.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Love to see it.
You straight up asked me whatmine were, so I know what are
yours.
List them right now.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
I didn't.
I said do you have any that youwould like to share with us?
It was the most and you couldhave just said, no, huh,
goodness gracious.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
To be mean.
Oh my gosh, I'm listening to me.
I'm just saying you're like I'mvulnerable and I would like
it's okay, me too, sister fight.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Okay, you want to
know something else?
Life update Quit the gym, but Isaw this coming.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
I saw this coming.
They didn't let you quit wait.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
No, why did you see
this coming?
Excuse me, you are like solow-key, spicy right now.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
No, you are so
low-key, taking everything I say
wrong, I think.
I'm a period saw this comingbecause you told me you tried
out a new.
Wait it's glad.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
I'm sorry.
I can't believe this is ourfirst fight on our podcast.
Wow, we went about.
We went a really long timewithout fighting.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
I was podcast for a
long time.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
We did Walker's not
in the room.
Right now we're not on our bestbehavior, okay, so I quit the
gym, but you're gonna die.
Because I called and I saidlisten, and I the guy, like the
Manager picked up and I know himpersonally, and I mean not
first, like I know him justbecause I take his classes, okay
(13:50):
, and so he like knows who I am,which I think helped me.
Oh, that's cool.
But I said I need to quit andhe gave me the runaround.
Keith was in the other roomlistening the whole thing and
afterwards he was like he did agood job, meredith.
Because he was he pulled out allthe stops.
He was like you know you canpause, you can like.
(14:12):
I know you like this kind ofclass.
We're adding more of theseclasses to the schedule and I
was thinking you've been sayingthat for four months and also
the chances of me being able tocome to this one specific time
Any.
And I've already decided in myheart I'm moving on.
It's too intense.
I like don't want to do it morethan once a week and I want to
go to the gym more than once aweek but I like cannot
physically Do it because, it's,it's too much, it's like really
(14:34):
intense almost throw up thefirst I know so, but you know
what he told me?
He just told me you go to orangetheorycom and go to scroll all
the way down to the bottom, click cancellations.
You put in the store number andyou just put in a request for
cancellation and then they justapprove it.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
You have got to be.
I was shocked.
I was about to fake being inthe hospital.
Oh, I know.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
I don't know why he.
I don't know why he told methat, like surely their policy
hasn't changed.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
You know, they
literally like I went in three
separate times.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
I know I had a friend
that that same thing happened
and she was like and the second?
Speaker 2 (15:20):
time they were, they
literally were like oh, a
manager has to be here.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Yeah, that happened
to my friend and she was like so
I sat in the.
I sat in the parking lot andlike waited until the manager
was showing up, and then whenshe told the manager she wanted
to quit, and he was like iseverything okay?
She's like he made it about me,like something must be wrong
with me that I want to quit thegym.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Anyway.
So, but I still have to pay awhole another month because they
have a 30 day cancellationpolicy.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Yeah, we knew about
that, which most places do.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Yeah so, but anyway
it is fair.
But I just was like I can'twait to tell Caroline because I
don't know, I don't know if it'sbecause I got the manager on
the phone.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
You're also a little
bit better than me about like
just being, like no.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Yeah, I mean I told
him I was like I just want to.
I was like it's just not.
I think I need something like alittle more mild I want to do.
I was like I think I want to dolike yoga, because I knew I
couldn't tell him I wanted to doanything that was similar to
what I was doing.
I was like I'm doing a totallydifferent thing.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
You're a little bit
better at like, just like
speaking your mind.
I like it so panicky andnervous and like it literally I
still don't know why they madeyou come in though.
Green separate frames.
And the one time the girlieliterally said I'm not letting
you quit, girlie, what am Isupposed to say to that?
(16:51):
You say no, I need to quit.
I said okay, caroline, I knowmaybe that makes me my new
year's resolution to have abigger backbone.
Our friend Athena has this ringthat says be kind and then on
the inside of it says I'm abitch and I'm like, oh my gosh,
(17:11):
I need.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
I love that.
It's good.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
I let them give me
the run around for literally
like four months.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
So anyway.
So I have not months left and Itold them I'd go in and use my
last eight classes, but I don'tknow if that's going to happen.
So anyway, new year, new me.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
Also new year, new
gypsy rose.
Can we talk?
Speaker 1 (17:40):
about that.
Wait, yes, I okay.
Wait, that transition wasflawless.
I, yes, okay.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
I want to say I did
not straight up trying to floss
my teeth right now.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
I know I don't love
that we're doing this on zoom.
Um, I did not finish thedramatization.
Dramatization, dramatization.
I did not finish thedramatization of her story with
the ever so talented.
(18:13):
What's the actress's name?
Oh, our favorite from um Joeykissing through did not finish
Joey's reenactment of gypsyroses.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
I think that's why I
don't like the kissing.
Well, there's numerous reasonswhy those movies are terrible,
but all I could see was gypsyrose.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Oh, but I, once she
got in the relationship and she
started getting kinky with herboyfriend, I was like I can't do
this, and so I didn't finishthe story and so now but now I
kind of feel like I want to goback and watch it, so I'm fully
updated.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
It's a little like
one of those that makes you not
feel great.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
I know Well, and then
the, the documentary is even
worse, isn't it?
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Which one's harder to
watch?
Speaker 1 (18:53):
I don't know, and you
watch both I.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
I watched both.
Yeah, but it's been so long Idon't know which one was harder
to watch, because I literallybinge them all like back to back
.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
And I finished one.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I was like I need to
know more.
So I think I watched thedramatization first and then the
documentary after.
Yeah, but she's doing atell-all.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
I know I raise your
hand if you're going to be
watching.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
Yeah, Raise your hand
if you're going to be watching,
because I cannot wait.
And have y'all been seeingeveryone marketing her face at
their Mexican restaurants?
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Wait why?
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Everyone's been like
all these Mexican restaurants,
like all over the nation Waitwhy there?
Have been photo shopping GypsyRose at their bar, with a
Margarita being like GypsyRose's first stop after she got
released for marketing.
Wait, why are they?
Wait what?
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Just Mexican
restaurants.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
I mean, that's all
I've seen, wait, wait.
To get people in there, I'veseen it like four separate times
.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Wait, you're just
like seeing this as you scroll
on Instagram.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Yeah, no Facebook.
Which Facebook is funky, youknow.
You see all kinds of there,Wait that is so funny.
I like how the Mexicanrestaurant from, like Michigan.
Pop up, and how to pictureGypsy Rose drinking a Margarita
at the bar.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
And it was like
clearly photoshopped.
Yeah, wait, please send methese images.
Okay, I will.
So funny.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
I've been dying.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Yeah, I definitely
want to watch.
Also, speaking of memoirs, Ireceived the woman inside me.
Woman inside me.
No, the woman and me by BritneySpears.
Yeah, keith surprised me withit for Christmas, which I have
never felt more seen andunderstood and known and loved
(20:43):
than getting that for Christmas.
I read the whole thing onChristmas Day and I kind of
forgot.
That's what I wanted thisepisode to be about.
But, I mean, I don't know.
What do you want to know?
I want you to ask me questionsand me to answer them.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
I mean, we've already
kind of done this a little bit
because you were like very readyto tell me last time I saw you.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
Oh, I forgot, I saw
you, but so I don't know if I
have gracious, we don't have todo it again.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
I'm trying to think
of any additional question.
Honestly, the thing that youtold me that, like I've been
thinking about still, is thatshe was really self aware.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
Oh, we did talk about
this Getting weird and I was
like that is so interesting.
Yeah, and talks like about why,she uses Instagram the way she
does.
Wait, so tell me why.
Well, she was just saying that, like she, you like, she's like,
basically like I know myInstagram is cringy and I have
no style, but I like never gotto pick out what I wanted to
(21:53):
wear, I never got to develop asense of style.
I like my body was like nevermind.
She basically just like didn'tever experience like bodily
autonomy in any way or like anykind of autonomy.
And so she was saying, likeInstagram is like my way of like
expressing myself.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
So and and it's
really weird and doing what?
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Yeah.
So I don't know, I don't know.
I highly recommend 10 out of 10.
As far as like celebritymemoirs go, it was very
entertaining not entertainingbut like yeah, I mean I couldn't
put it down.
I read it in one day, two books.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Yeah, it was great.
I'm gonna look into it wheneverI get more audiobook hours on
Spotify, because I think it's onthere right now.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
I'm gonna need you to
walk me through how to do
audiobook free.
Audiobooks on Spotify.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
Because I literally
just looked up audiobooks and it
gave me 20 hours.
It gives you, I think, 20 hoursa month maybe, but are you?
Speaker 1 (22:52):
the account holder.
Like Keith and I share anaccount.
I'm like wondering if that'swhy he's the account holder.
So I'm like wondering if that'swhy I don't get the audio hours
.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
I'm the account
holder and Jay's not listening
to audiobooks, so I don't know.
Maybe, I'll look on his phoneand see.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
We'll figure this out
outside of the podcast.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
But like did, you
look up a bunch of different
audiobooks but some of them arelocked.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Oh, but the only ones
I looked up have been locked.
Oh, you have to find three ones.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Yeah, like some of
them are included.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Oh, okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
The Britney Spears
one I think is right now.
And also don't like get stokedbecause I was like stoked
because I like I listened toHoopla with the Richland Library
.
You can like do the Hoopla andget an audiobook, but if I like
put one down and pick up anotherone and get super excited about
it and then like that one getsput back on the shelf and then
(23:45):
you only have 20, I think 20days or 21 days.
So I like tried to pick one upthat I'd put back down and it
like wouldn't let me play itagain.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
I like make to go
recheck it out.
Oh, you told me this, that's soweird.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
I was super excited
when I got Spotify because I was
like this makes it so mucheasier.
And then I was in the climax ofa book and it cut off and I was
like you're out of hours thismonth.
You're out.
You're like hours will refreshin 24 days.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Oh shoot.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Because I like, I
will, and then you can order,
and then you can pay.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
You can pay Per
chapter, right?
Couldn't you just pay forcertain chapters?
Oh, you pay for hours and.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
I think it's 1299 for
10 hours.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
Okay, but if you
listen to him, super sped up,
you could go fast, right?
Speaker 2 (24:40):
I listened to mine on
like 1.8.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
1.9 sometimes if I
speak.
Yeah, I used to do 1.5.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
And I was like I
think I can handle one and I, I
I like your books and J like Jcannot listen to me, listen to
an audio.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Wait why?
Speaker 2 (24:59):
The most obnoxious
thing I've ever heard, oh really
.
Like someone talking and fastforward.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
And he's like how are
you keeping up with?
Speaker 1 (25:06):
it.
Yeah, I remember I got in thecar one time and you were
listening to your like smut book, super sped up, which is like
so funny.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
That was a smut book
that like I don't typically
listen to smut books on audiobooks because it makes them like
way more cringy.
Yeah for sure, it's like areally good person.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Especially when
they're at 1.8.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Well, that's so.
That's why I was listening toit sped up, because this is when
I was just like trying to getthrough it it was over it
anyways.
But the end of guy would do thegirls voice.
I mean it's like talking agirly voice, Like try to sound
sexual.
It was so bad.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Oh man.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
So what is your?
What is your reading for theyear?
Do you do?
Do you ever do that?
Speaker 1 (25:50):
I need to make one
because I didn't do one last
year and the only books I readwere I'm glad my mom died and
Brittany Spears, which I'm gladmy mom that was really good.
Are you on Goodreads?
No, no and I cannot.
It took me so long to get offof their freaking email list.
I was getting like 17 emails aday from Goodreads.
(26:13):
I don't even get emails fromthem.
I don't know, but I like signedup for a minute.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
You can change the
settings I know I finally did.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
I finally like went
into my account and like changed
all my settings, but I feellike they spammed me for like
eight months.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
But you like it.
I like it because I do thereading challenge every year and
then I track which books I'veread, and you can also like look
at friends books and see whatthey've rated them.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Okay, I'm reading the
Secret Garden with the Girls
right now, which is so it startsout, so depressing.
The parents die within, likethe first chapter, and she's
like why did they used to dothat to us?
And like every freaking everybook, and so we're reading that.
I want to.
I'm reading the Hunger Gamesprequel.
I'm reading that one.
I'm trying to read it before itleaves theaters and I don't
(27:03):
know if I'm going to make it.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Well you, thank
goodness, sorry, I'm eating a
potato chip.
You live next to the DollarTheater that played movies.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Oh, that's true,
that's true and think about that
.
So, yeah, I'm starting the yearoff good.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
I'm like reading
currently, but I like to give a
break of our Christmas, or, yeah, a Christmas break, which is
weird.
I feel like typically peoplewould read more, but I haven't
been reading.
But I set a higher goal than Ihave ever.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
What's your reading
goal?
Speaker 2 (27:36):
I don't even want to
say that loud because I'm
embarrassed of it.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
I mean my.
I've never, I never, ever read.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
So it's well, I want
to read one of them.
Okay, that's reasonable.
What was your?
What was it last year?
I was like seven because I wasin a total reading, like like I
hadn't read any books.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Maybe I'll start with
six, which is so low it's like
embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
So that's why I
didn't want to tell you mine,
because I'm in a bunch of likereading groups.
Something really embarrassingabout me that I like hate to
admit is that I'm in a bunch ofFacebook Facebook groups.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
I love that you're
still on Facebook.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
I got off for like
five years.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
I know why are you
back on.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
I got back on to get
marketplace because I need to
sell a bunch of oh, we have 10more minutes on our free zoom.
Okay, and then I got back on andthen I got in all these groups.
Anyways, I'm in a bunch ofreading groups, Like I'm in like
a romance reading book groupand then I'm in a psychological
(28:45):
thrillers one and all of theirreading goals for the year For
like 160.
Oh my gosh.
To be fair, like half of theamount of people are like like
do you guys do anything in yourspare time?
Like half the amount of peopleare like I can never read your
many books.
And half the amount of peopleare like reading 160 books, like
(29:07):
it's like a female level.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
That's so many books.
I know that's crazy.
I need to watch less TV.
I love TV.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
I love a good show.
That's my thing.
It's like I'm not gonna feelbad about loving TV.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
I know I review, it's
the same.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
I'm more
unapologetically myself.
I used to feel really guiltyabout not liking TV because we
had so many friends that didn'thave TVs in their houses.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
But I'm like you know
what?
No, I love watching a teendrama.
I love watching.
I know, I just like, I reallylike to watch TV.
I do too, I'm not gonna feelbad about it, love a good show,
I'm watching.
The Crown right now.
Are you?
Speaker 1 (29:48):
I'm ready to be over.
I mean, we've watched, I'vewatched all of it and Diana just
died.
I'm like eager to get.
Who wants to get a queer eye.
Oh, I love that show.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
I can't watch a ton
of it, though I like have to go.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
Oh, you hit the new
one.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
Yeah, no, yeah, the
new one.
I've never watched it, so theother day, I had a lazy day and
Jay and I watched Bench thewhole first season.
Like the first three episodesJay and I were like like staring
into the TV and then we justlook at each other and be like,
oh.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
I know it's so
heartwarming, I'm so invested, I
know.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
So that's our like
heartwarming show that we were
also watching, shameless, whichwe've been watching for like
what feels like.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yeah, I couldn't get,
I didn't get hooked on that.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
Well, I'm only
watching it for Jeremy.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Mm-hmm.
He didn't have enough bigenough.
He didn't have a big enoughrole to keep me invested.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
It gets bigger.
But I will say it the other daymy friend Krista was like me if
I was on the bear.
Yes, daddy, I mean she.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
I was like, oh my
gosh, oh, he is so hot.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
I know, but he's also
one of those people that's like
he's hot because of hischaracter.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Oh yeah, he's not
actually, but that character man
, it's great.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
I wanna see the exact
episode movie with him.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
When does that come
out?
It's out, oh it is.
No, it's not fun.
What oh?
I started watching that theother day.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Can you tell me what?
Speaker 1 (31:20):
it is.
Well, okay.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Everyone's freaking
talking about it.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Well, I actually read
the entire synopsis on
Wikipedia because I saw someoneput like post of Reel that there
were, like me, going to seeSaltburn because of that guy,
jacob Elordi or whatever hisname is.
And then walking out they werelike walking out, like like
stunned, and so I was like, okay, what's this movie about?
Cause everyone's, cause, it'smust have been weird.
(31:43):
So I read the whole synopsis,so I was going into it kind of
already knowing what it was, andit was funny because Shanika
the horror, our horror hues, horror, hues, yeah, podcast
guest.
She posted about how, like it'sbased in 2007 or 17.
(32:04):
So she was saying like it wouldhave been very cool in 2017,
but like I don't have the energyfor it now.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
And.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
I felt that way.
I was like started it and Ithought I felt like I thought
this was just gonna be like aguilty pleasure kind of movie
and it's like way more likeartsy than I had energy for.
Like it's like but I think ifyou're in that kind of mood, it
could be cool.
But I was like, oh, I don't, Idon't have, I don't know, I'm
(32:33):
not that invested Like, literally gave it five minutes.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
And I was like I
might try it, Cause I really
like Jacob.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
Elordi, I didn't know
that.
I really didn't know that ZacEfron movie was out.
Let's go see it.
I think it came out like duringChristmas break.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
We need to go see it.
I want to see that.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
I want to see the
color purple.
I want to see songbirds andsnakes, but I can't see that
until it's over, until I read,but Don't want to.
Oh, I'm going to.
Yes, I joined Regal Rewardslast year, so they have pretty
good reward system.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
They have a reward
member.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Mm-hmm, you get free
popcorn.
We got a Guardians of theGalaxy popcorn bucket.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Ooh Um.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
But yeah, so
Guardians of the Galaxy wish.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
What did he?
What was the synopsis?
I have no interest in seeing it.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
He loved it.
He's been singing all the songsfrom it.
He's been singing all the songsand he like made me and Jay
listen to the song, the.
Is the music good?
It's great, okay, and like toldme the story.
What was happening in the movieas we're listening to the music
.
But he also told me I was likeI really want to see it, but he
(33:47):
was like yeah, but like Not fora while Because it was a little
scary.
And I think like he basicallywas like I need a minute.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Oh, sweet Some, I
know.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Is he no longer?
Speaker 1 (34:01):
saying Siggi.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
No.
I need it, because I love whenhe said that's what she'd be
like.
I'm a Sigg.
It's too Siggi.
We're scared.
It's too Siggi.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
But yeah.
So I have lots of movies I wantto see.
I don't know which ones toprioritize.
I really yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
That should be on our
.
Oh my gosh, okay, new Year'sresolution.
Here we go, we can startwrapping things up here.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Jay and I want to
have more family dinner.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
For our house with
you guys and Leslie next.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Yes, with our James
and Sir and brother Would love
that.
Let's do it.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
I would, let's do
like Sunday dinners.
Like an early dinner on Sundays.
That's what I was thinkingbecause I did one of those dumb
things on Instagram where it'slike look at this word, scramble
and pick the first four wordsthat you see.
But one of mine was connectionand I was like man, I really
(35:02):
feel like that Last year my wordwas balance.
It literally was so impactfulfor me, Like typically, I pick a
word and I like kind of forgetabout it.
The last year was balance andit seriously I feel like you are
.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
You came out of 2023
more balanced.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Like majorly and I
feel way more internally
balanced, like how do you pickyour word?
Speaker 1 (35:23):
This can be a good
closing.
How do you pick your word forthe year?
Speaker 2 (35:27):
I don't know I'm.
Last year I picked balancebecause I felt so off balance.
It felt like that was like theonly thing I could pick.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
I'm in this year
because I'm feeling I don't know
.
I don't know what to do,Speaking of some who's out of
bed and who's giving me adevilish look.
What is in your hand?
Where did you find Plato inyour room?
It might be the closest, okay,I'm in this room and I don't
(36:02):
know where.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
That's fun.
Okay, so everybody think abouttheir word for the year.
I need to pick one for me, yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
Maybe we'll come back
with that next.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Okay, and also shoot

debriefing that at some point.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
We need to figure out
when her teller is yeah, that's
what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
