Laurel Rathbun is a professional female cyclist who raced her bike at the World Tour Level at a very young age. Unfortunately, her professional career was challenged after a horrific crash left her with nerve damage in her right shoulder. She was able to return to the world of professional cycling with shear drive and determination, but racing at this level was never the same for Laurel.
Laurel eventually retired from the sport at 23 years of age and more seriously pursued her career in accounting. As a lifelong cyclist and competitor, Laurel found her way back to the sport through travel with Qunafa, an organization focusing on cycling trips around the world.
After many unique experiences, Laurel began riding again locally and has since returned to the world of professional cycling to make a run at the 2024 Olympics as a C5 para-athlete.
