Shove (00:09):
What's up, everybody?
Welcome to skate day. Hello,we're back.

Rebel (00:13):
I feel like it's been a really long time. Oh, it's cuz
it's been two weeks technicallysince we recorded an episode of
skate date. But we still had askate date episode come out last
week because we were. What'sthat? prepared? We thought
ahead.

Shove (00:30):
No, Lord. It is finally winter. It is for reusing in the
garage. Yeah. Did you miss uscomplaining about how cold it
is? Because it's really cold inhere. Like it took so long. Just
setting up the camera the rightway. That in that time, I'm
like, Okay, now my chest, mynose and my cheeks are frozen. I

(00:51):
feel like we're staying in somelike winter cabin. And if you
hear the humming of a heater, like a little space heater,
you're just gonna have to dealwith it because

Rebel (01:00):
yeah, Bowie need his need his needs the heater and soda
shoves feet. Anyways, thisescape date. I am rebel. I'm
shove and together we areshovel.

Shove (01:14):
Can you dig it? Yes. Can you dig it? Oh, can you dig me
how I have new hair. I'm got myhair done a new Long Beach so on
called black sheep. In a loveit. It's still like super

(01:36):
shrinkage. So I'm like, but Ilove the color.

Rebel (01:40):
Yeah, if you are watching or listening on the podcast,
like on just sound instead ofwatching on the YouTube shove
has hot pink hair.

Shove (01:52):
And she got a little haircut. Mm hmm. Little shaping.
Mm curls are poppin

Rebel (01:57):
and it's bright AF. But for some reason on the video. It
looks red, but it's not red.
It's hot pink. But remember thatone time that I wore that hot
pink jacket? It also looked likeI was wearing a red jacket.

Shove (02:11):
Yeah, true. Yeah, we were colorblind. I don't know. Now
maybe that camera is colorblind.
Have you been?

Rebel (02:19):
I've been good. I've been pretty stressed and overwhelmed.
But we are pushing through. AndI'm finally starting to feel
like maybe it's going to ease upsoon. Maybe?

Shove (02:34):
I don't know if I know you, which I think I do. I hope
I do. It will not be easing upanytime soon. Well, that's rude.
You always just add like, oh,no, I have free time. Let me
pick up a new project or anotherjob? Well, no, I mean, like, I
just want to be at my regularlevel of stress. I don't want to

(02:55):
be it super amounts of stress.
But now that like super amountsof stress is like your new norm.
It's gonna feel like you don'thave enough on your plate.

Rebel (03:04):
No, but it's it's my new norm, but I hate it. And I've
never been in a spot where I wasjust like, I literally hate the
amount of things that I'm doing.
Like it's making me crazy, andI'm feeling super, super
overwhelmed. I don't think I'veever gotten to that point
before. So I feel like it'sactually like a big deal this
time. And anyways, yeah, enoughabout that. We don't even talk

(03:29):
about that. So today we aregoing to talk about alternative
people at work, aka colored hairand tattoos at in the workplace.
And we're also going to talkabout shows trip to Miami. I'm
excited. Did anything elsehappen? That was exciting for
you this last week? No. Iwatched a movie that made me cry

(03:53):
really hard. And I also watcheda movie that made me laugh and
laugh and feel so loving andhappy. It's my new favorite game
movie. My new favorite gayChristmas movie now my new
favorite game movie. It takesmore than just one Christmas
movie to turn.

Shove (04:14):
My favorite movie? Yeah, anyways. Do you know what it is?
Bam. Single all the way. Themovie that I was like, hey,
there's a gay movie that is likenow she has everything that she
just like? I said it was a gayperson. Sue me and you're like
I'm in? No, no, no more. Yeah,he didn't even want to see the
trailer and they said I'm a FOMOsexual. She was like yeah, new

(04:36):
favorite movie. I'm a FOMOsection. Are you being a fomos
actual Yes. So good. It's cuz Irelate to it. And then I made
her watch. Step mom for thefirst time, which broke my
freaking heart. It was so sad.
Ugly cried it's fine. Yeah, itwas crazy.

Rebel (04:57):
Anyways, before we jump on it We have a Zadie dad, an ad
for the Zadie is. That's all ofyou all of yours.

Shove (05:09):
Oh my gosh. Okay,

Rebel (05:11):
so something you may or may not know about me from
having watched videos or seen meon the internet or heard me
talking on this podcast is thatI absolutely do not like working
out. I have no interest intrying to make my body work out
because I don't like it. Butthere is one thing that I hate

(05:36):
more than any other part ofworking out and it is the you
know, it is planks. Yes, it isplanks. I hate I detest, I have
the strongest feelings of hatredtowards planking. And I feel
like no matter where I go, orwhat I do, every workout has

(05:59):
planks in it is not the worstbeam.

Shove (06:02):
Um, yes.

Rebel (06:06):
So like, there comes a certain point when you are
skating where like, if you wantto level up anymore, you
literally have to work on yourcore. Like you just have to

Shove (06:20):
Yeah, it's like a core.
What is it? Who is she? We don'tknow her? Yeah, I want to know
her. So I come on that trip.

Rebel (06:26):
Yeah, you have to get acquainted in order to like land
tricks or like do the next levelof whatever it is you're trying
to do. So like, the biggestthing that people do when
they're talking about their coreis they do planks, and I
freaking hate that. So I've justavoided trying to get a core.
But then I found this a magicalteacher and her name is kinase,

(06:47):
kid, ace. Kid, Ace teaches yogafor skaters, and is just a
general all around badass. Andshe is releasing today. You
heard it here first, folks.
Today, she is releasing a planklists core workout. And it's

(07:08):
blank lists. But it is a coreworkout. It helps you to build
your core. It's specifically forskaters. And it's three like
about 15 ish minute littleworkouts that is supposed to
train you in strengthening yourcore, and me and shove did it

(07:28):
and who I feel strengthened. AndI also feel like I should
probably do it again. And notjust give up at certain points
and stare at Kitties and thinkWow, you're so talented. But I
know that if I kept doing it, Iwould actually get better and
then be able to like fully fullydo it. But so kid ace creates

(07:51):
these workout videos forskaters. And she is an
incredible skater so strong, sostrong, like literally

Shove (08:06):
didn't even pay attention to like the video because I was
just like, whoa, why is he builtlike a freaking ballerina like
that? That thigh muscles alone?
I was just like, am I gonnathighs like that? At the end of
this. I was also thinking that Iwas thinking oh my gosh, they
are most powerful, much musclesskater. Like what? Superhero bar

(08:27):
body

Rebel (08:32):
and you can tell it when she skates. Like if you watch
her skate, you're like, Oh, ofcourse she has a core and like
she like she teaches all thisother stuff. So I like that she
makes working out accessible topeople who aren't like crazy
into working out like I wouldn'tfeel intimidated to do another
video with her or to repeat thevideo that we did the other day

(08:57):
because I felt like you know, Idon't know, I just felt

Shove (09:01):
like he was willing to call me he was nice. I just felt
like your friend was just likecome on. Let's just do this or
find me like okay,

Rebel (09:09):
which was really great.
So we definitely recommend thatyou get the plank LIS core
workout from Kid ace. And the ifyou're in the area where she is
holding a workshop that's likeyoga for skaters. Or if you want
to watch videos that she hasthat are yoga for skaters, we

(09:30):
highly recommend that you go andyou do that because seriously,
investing in a person that isalso a skater so they understand
how your body works. And also isnot like some no offense to the
gym bros out there but some gymbro that is just kind of like
let's get this many reps in foryou know, whatever external

(09:52):
motivation when someone can talkto you and be like, Oh, you want
to learn how to Bahrani likeyou're gonna need To do like
this, this and this, or like,Oh, you want to be able to
strengthen yourself for thesetricks and enhance your core you
need to do these things andthey're gonna equate to the
things that you do as a skaterlike I just think that that so
worth the money you know, veryworth the money. Anyway, so

(10:13):
support kid ace and do a plankLIS core workout and let us know
how it goes because

Shove (10:25):
my core still hurts and how all right, should we jump
into the real world? Let's goWelcome to the real, the real

(10:47):
world where we talk about thingsthat happen outside of roller
skating, and in the real world.
Alright, so we're gonna talkabout what it's like to have
colored hair, tattoos, maybeboth of them, maybe one of them.
And the workplace. Yeah. So, Imean, I've had tattoos and

(11:13):
colored hair in the workplacefor the entirety of my work
existence for the most part.
What about you? Did you havecolored hair though? When did
you start coloring your hair forwork? And work at the same time?
Oh, yeah, you're right. You'reright. You're right. We're
having fun color. So we starteddating him. Yeah, that's right.
Your tattoos were very easy tohide. They were very easy to
hide. You just recently took thelike, let my freak flag fly. I

(11:37):
just recently took the Fuckitroute. Yeah, like I have a hand
tattoo. Yeah, fuck it, right?
You shaved your head aftergraduation. But then you were
like, I'm gonna wear a wig tofill more professional. No, it
wasn't about feelingprofessional. It was about

(11:58):
feeling ugly. It's sounprofessional to try to get a
full time job. Oh, like duringinterviews? Yeah, exactly. What
goes under what we're talkingabout is like, there's this
pressure that like when you lookto alternative, that people
won't think that you'reprofessional or educated, that
you they basically just thinkyou don't have your shit
together. And you're gonna belike this rebel without a cause.

(12:19):
Instead of a rebel with a causeto enhance the effectiveness and
productivity of their company.
It's just like, right away havethis like judgment on you when
you're actually thought. It'sjust like, Oh, you have too much
fun. And it's just so crazy, especially in this day and age,
I feel like people are gettingmore like companies are getting
more lenient about it. Butstill, there's a lot of like

(12:40):
dress codes where it's justlike, that's a major No, no,

Rebel (12:45):
it just seems weird.
Because it's like, why? Like, what? Who is it interrupting?
Like, what work process is beinghalted? Because my hair is
green?

Shove (12:59):
Yeah, like I get it. I guess. Like, I don't get it. But
like, I kind of like, okay, maybe when it's like you deal
with customers head on. Becauseit's like companies are like, I
think it's cool. I don't care.
But we know our customers arejudging judging sins. So they're
like, Oh, we don't want them tonot come because they think it's
a bunch of hooligans workinghere. So we'll just make it so

(13:21):
you can't express yourself.

Rebel (13:25):
Yeah, I mean, so I worked for a job. I'm not going to drop
the name of this job. But Iworked for a job where I was not
allowed to look in any way shapeor form alternative because I
had to fit a certain stereotypethat people who were hiring me

(13:49):
thought of, so I had to take outmy nose rings for every time I
worked, I had to wear a wig whenmy hair was a different color. I
had to cover up all my tattooslike I wasn't allowed to wear
multiple rings, which I alsothink is kind of a weird thing.
Like why do you care? Like myjewelry? Like why do you care

(14:12):
about my jewelry? I don't know.
It's just like weird but I wasworking with like rich
clientele. So maybe that was it.
But

Shove (14:19):
I don't remember when you had they had like an alternative
company that was like a sex toycompanies and they're like, be
alternative the love it.

Rebel (14:27):
Yeah, they were so excited. They were the first
person I called. They were the Iwas the first person they
called. They were like, Oh mygosh, this is right up your
alley. Just be yourself. And Iwas like, already so jaded about
the experience and like how I'dbeen treated like, I don't and I
don't think that that my boss. Ireally really liked my boss. So

(14:47):
it didn't have anything to dowith them. It was just more or
less like, I felt like I wasbeing muted while I was at that
company. Like I felt like Icouldn't really express myself.
And that was very frustrating tome like, why are you putting me
in a box? For this job? Like Idon't get it?

Shove (15:07):
Yeah, um, coffee me and tried to do that. Let's say it
straight up coffee bean tealeaves sue me. I don't care. How
many lawsuits have you had? Iwas talking about lawsuit I just
I do respect that. No, I knowI'm just saying separate fact.
Um, when I were to coffee me andat first it was very like, good

(15:28):
to have colored hair and it wasokay because you had to wear
hat. Tattoos were okay, but youcouldn't have like can tattoos,
neck tattoos face out to thelike, very limited on like,
what, like, how many where theywere. And then over the years,
they loosened it up a bit, but Iremember like right before them
even like changing it to be likeany tattoos pretty much go as
long as it's like, you know, notprofanity or nudity and stuff.

(15:52):
And you could have colorful hairto wear hot. But like when I was
five or my interview, to becomea sort manager, my regional
manager was like, she came overor sorry, my district manager
came over to me and she waslike, okay, honey, like, I just
think she's always clever withhoney. She's like, okay, honey,
like, I just need you to, like, tone it down a bit. Like my hair

(16:16):
was blue at the time, I believe.
And she was like, not so crazy.
And it was like natural. So itwas like low key like she was
low, usually the lesbian lady, and she was being low key
calories. As soon as she waslike, your hair's just been all
over the place. Like it needs tobe alone with me maybe not so
colorful, like, tone it down.
It's just a lot. And like, that's like you need to be like
for this role, like all thisstuff, right? Even though like I

(16:38):
was fitting into the dress code, technically, right? So I was
like, damn, so I remember Ibleached my hair, frickin
blonde. I got all the blue out.
I had like platinum on hair. Istraightened it. And then I did
like this little preppy herself.
It was like, pinned at the topand then down in the back. And

(16:58):
then I wear a blazer. That waslike long sleeves, like cover my
tattoos and I had like a buttonup underneath and a pencil
skirt. And I even wore heels andI was like, who am I? Like I
remember I even posted a pictureand put it on Instagram, like my
old Instagram, where it's likeme all like punk rock and stuff.
And then me like all preppy andbeing like what the hell like

(17:21):
this is so weird. And everyone'sjust been like, This is so
strange. Like, why did you haveto dye your hair and do all this
stuff just for it. But I likereally wanted the job. So I did
it. And like it was so stupidbecause down the line it was
like very encouraged for you tolook however you want it to it
was literally just my districtmanager putting like what she

(17:41):
thought a manager should looklike on me. I've had that
experience with other people whoare also very close to me.

Rebel (17:52):
Today, it's just a day where I'm not saying any names.
Other people that are very closeto me have told me like, oh,
that I have to wear pantyhosethat I have to cover up my
tattoos with Yeah, to cover upmy leg tattoo. So they don't
like show under. Like if I waslike move my leg a certain way
that I asked to use like makeupor concealer to cover up any

(18:15):
like tattoos that might peek outor anything. Just like really
weird stuff that like I justdon't like trying to be a
teacher. Like I don't really seewhy. It's like a big deal for a
teacher to have tattoos

Shove (18:33):
or your mentor now, they're gonna want to get
tattoos and crazy hair becausetheir teacher did.

Rebel (18:39):
But like, Thank God, that a teacher would be an example of
someone who's always maybewanted to look alternative. And
they've never seen a leader intheir life that actually looked
alternative, thank God that thatstudent's going to have that
teacher. Like, that's how youshould see it, instead of seeing
it as like, Oh no, they're goingto influence it. It's like maybe

(19:01):
there was a student who reallyneeded someone to give them the
permission, you know, by bysetting an example of like, you
don't have to look likeliterally everyone else in order
to do what you want to do or bewho you want to be. And so I
don't know, like it's but Idefinitely bought into it. Like

(19:22):
I would I had this like Karenwig that I wore, it was like a
blonde Bob that I would wearanytime that I had any sort of
interview or anything like thatand would even wear it like the
first day in the classroom tomake like an impression and like
all this stuff, and it's like, what the

Shove (19:43):
hell? Well, one cool thing though, is like people
have to start change unitbecause they can't find
employees that aren't heavilytattooed or have alternative
Arab because like knowledgegenerations coming in like
they're like I've had tattoosand stuff I was 15. And like,
they're really like pierced upand everything. I'm very like,

(20:04):
raised by millennials. So thatare like expressing yourself.
Like, yeah, the culture ischanging and even Disneyland had
to change their dress code. Andlike they were one of the
strictest places like becausethey were trying to make sure
like that every culture fromaround the world that comes
Disneyland wouldn't be offended, because it is a cultural thing

(20:25):
to wear. Like some people thinkit's like, you're definitely
100% like a drug dealer orgetting serviette tattoos. So to
keep it just very like blank, they're like, you can only have
natural hair color tones down tothe kind of makeup you have on
the nail polish color. Anytattoos have to be covered with
makeup. Like they're very, verystrict. And now they're starting

(20:47):
to loosen it up a bit. So youmight see someone with like old
tattoo, or you might see someonea little while choda and you
definitely would never see thatat Disneyland again. But if they
like upheld that they wouldn'thave no one to work. Yeah, no,
because it's Yeah, yeah. 100% Itotally agree with what you're
saying. Yeah, and now it's like,I ain't gal before it was like,

(21:10):
oh, man, there's so punk rocker.
Oh, man. Yeah, they'redefinitely thinking sir criminal
or like all these things likewhatever it might be. And now
it's like, almost like to behonest, when was cooler if you
don't have tattoos? It justlooks blank. Now, it's just
like, the new norm is like, Oh,of course, like, like, Oh, of
course you have tattoos or youhave colorful hair. It's like
not, I feel like me, unless I'mjust so like, included because

(21:32):
of like skate community andother communities. I'm sure. But
like, especially being inCalifornia, like, almost
everyone's alternative. So it'slike, I mean, like, you know
what, that is totally ourbubble. Yeah, it's our bubble.
Yeah, that's not real, because Iteach a bunch of students in
Orange County. And like,

Rebel (21:55):
right, like, I have like, maybe two. That's like, kind of
alternate me. But like, I mean, like, that's not I think LA is
our bubble. Right? Long Beach isour bubble. Yeah. And la Long
Beach are very different fromlike, other parts of the United
States, different other parts ofthe world. Like, I think that we
have, like a culture here. Andalso, I think we are very

(22:18):
without even intending to, we'rejust like, very immersed in both
gay culture and skate culture.
And which is fine. Like, Iprefer it that way. But both of
those cultures are very like,DIY, they're more alternative.
They're more like selfexpression. Yeah. And like, if
you don't like who I am, thenfuck you. That's very much how

(22:43):
the cultures are. And so we'rejust like used to that. But not
everyone is like that.
Unfortunately, I

Shove (22:52):
know that's true, extra F and never really realize it
until you go to middle ofnowhere and you look around,
you're like, Oh, why is everyonesaying that? Me like that?

Rebel (23:01):
Honestly, I don't even realize that I'm extra until I
think it's made it. I mean,we've definitely talked about
this on the podcast before, butit's made it so much worse, like
being at home all the time.
Because like, I'll just go outeven with people that I know.
And then I'll be like, Oh, I'mlike super dressed up.

Shove (23:20):
And you're not we're annoying This is why people hate
us. I definitely don't thinkthere's like as much taboo about
getting tattooed. Like morepeople are willing especially to
hide them. I definitely thinkfeel like the placement of
tattoos like more people aregetting tattoos where other

(23:41):
people can scam and less tattoosthat are are hidden because it
almost is more of like anaccessory or a work of art they
want the world to see ratherthan something that's just
personal to them. And I thinklike back in the day, because
there was like, Oh, I can knockit any kind of job like even
like a minimum wage job withtattoos. So it was like you kept
everything that was justunderneath and it was like oh,

(24:04):
this is just for me anywaysbecause I want it and now as
things are opening up it is moreof a oh wait. Tattoos can be
just an art form that I'msharing with the world and like
all just get like, sleeves. chspisn't like something or it's
like weird. It's like theopposite of what it was before
when it was like, oh, gotta be asecret like a hush hush.

Rebel (24:22):
I also think that and again, this could also be our
bubble, but like, I know on mysocial medias, it's like all the
sexy people have tattoos.

Shove (24:34):
Like I feel like all the hot lesbians like I feel like
they all have tattoos. I feellike all the hot buys like all
the high gays all the hotClaire's like, Mike. Oh, you all
have tattoos. So I don't know ifthe camera caught it. But I
yawned and that thing happenedwhere like the corner like where
your jaw is squirts out. Water.
Again sprays bleeded Yeah, that's what it's called. And I

(24:58):
think it's like I got so mad cuzI saw it being that you could
like train, like do it yourselfand I couldn't figure it out and
I was so mad. Because I thinkit's one of those things that's
just like so freakin weird whenit happens. But how cool would
it be to do it on command? I hada friend growing up could do it
from under their tongue. Yeah.

(25:19):
And I was like, What the crap?
Like miracles of the buckimionbody. But anyway, it is magic.
It just happened. And if youwitness it, you're welcome.

Rebel (25:32):
Anyways, so what made you like, did you ever have a moment
where you were like, oh shit, Ishouldn't have gotten all these
tattoos and had like coloredhair? No, no,

Shove (25:46):
no, never once. I've always been kind of like, it'd
be my own job, like, just dowhat I want as long as like, I
can like if I like I rememberworking at Hyde Park casino and
being like, I had blond hair andlike, horrible, bleached, like

(26:07):
blonde blonde hair, but I didn'tunderstand what toners were at
the time. So it's kind of likeyellowy blonde white patches.
And it was like totally breakingbut it was in my clip in sage
cuz I was like, I'm still likeMySpace going into Tumblr seeing
clean. So like, I had thesesuper long platinum blonde
pieces, like 22 inch, 18 inch,20 inch, like, I tease it up. I

(26:30):
was like, I'm so seen. And Iwould go to work like that. And
then like, after, like a monthor so one of the supervisors
came up and was like, oh, youknow, it's in the dress code
that you have like natural haircolor. And I was like, well,
like blonde is a natural haircolor. And then he's like, not
far people. And I looked at theother. I looked at the other old

(26:53):
lady. And the other lady, theold lady that worked there. And
it was Linda and she had likeyellowy blonde hair. And that
was like her thing. And sheteased it out really big like,
oh my hair. And I was like shehas blonde hair. And she's like,
Yeah, but it's not blonde blondelike yours because like mine was
just too extra, right? So then Iwas like, All right, I was like,

(27:15):
Alright, cool. So my assholeasked us decides to dye my hair
Sonic the Hedgehog blue, alongwith all of my pieces, my clip
ends, and I made my hair superobnoxious Lee seeing queen, I
went on my rip t shirt on heavylike raccoon mess, like mascara

(27:38):
and like eyeshadow. And I wentin the next day because it's my
day off and I went to get to mycheck. And I'm just like, walk
in and my supervisor looks at melike, What the fuck? I'm just
like, Hi, can I get my check atcash that little window? I walk
around and talk to her like, like coworkers and stuff. And

(27:59):
then I apparently, yes, outthere. And then the next day,
because of course I'm not goingto lose my job over that. But
like, as soon as I'm with me dyemy hair. I'm like, You know
what, I should dye my hairsomething fun, because I figured
I'm not going to dye it black orbrown, right. So I thought being
by being obnoxious li blonde, that was my way to express

(28:20):
myself. I thought alternativebut was it a crazy color. So I
thought so I went to a swap meetand got like this wig. It was my
first wig I ever got, ah, that'swhat started it all. And it was
super preppy. It was like abrunette and was long and curly.
And I did a little up doing andthen I put my uniform on and go
to work. I'm sitting in thedeli, and all sudden the heck of

(28:43):
the supervisor like powerwalking at me with a radio. And
then she goes, Huh. And I waslike what she saw. She told me
you had bright blue hair. Andyou told me to come over here
and tell you that he told younot to dye your hair, blah, blah
so that I needed to come overhere and see if you had blue
hair so I could let him know soyou could write you up. Well,

(29:05):
you can tell Keith that I knowwhat a wig is and that my hair
is my hair and I'll keep itwhatever color I want. Sheila's
love. Oh my god. Keith lookedlike if Katt Williams and Prince
had a baby. Oh, yeah. And he wasvery short. I think that short
man's complex and yeah, he wasalways a pain and my artists and

(29:30):
I remember I even had likedrawings of me like my
sketchbook I was like, describing him like
I just got so triggered that youknow, autumn, but yeah, that was
like my first like I use he alsowas one of those bosses that
like I got a review and my dadwas like heading the department

(29:52):
but he wasn't even my boss. Hewas just in the same department.
Like he was like, you were goingto get 100 on your way. Have you
but I took you to 98 becauseyour chef sheils, his daughter,
and I thought it wouldn't befair. And I was like, one who
else would know what my scoreis? And to like, you deducted
me, please, just because youwere afraid of what people

(30:14):
thought that was another strike.
But yeah, anyway, so that'sabout Keith. That was the one
time I was like, I'm gonna bekind of a rebel, but not really.

Rebel (30:26):
I mean, I feel like I just decided one day, like, I'm
fed up with this. It was yearsand years of me feeling like, I
wanted to do things like Iwanted to get more tattoos, I
wanted to dye my hair, I wantedto cut my hair, I want to get
all these piercings, I felt likeI couldn't. And then one day, I
just snapped. Like, I was justlike, I will no longer take any

(30:51):
jobs that say that I can't bemyself completely and entirely,
like, I want to feel free to nothave any piercings in. And I
want to feel completely free tohave all my piercings and have
my hair wild. And then also tohave, you know, tattoos. And it
was like this big thing too, because I was like, Oh my gosh,

(31:12):
I'm never gonna get hired as afull time teacher. If I like
look super alternative. Andbecause the field is so
competitive, they can afford tolike, not judge on that. But
like, judge on that, you know, Imean, so I just decided, like,
fuck it. Like, I'm never gonnaget this teaching job anyways,

(31:32):
so I may as well just like, dowhat I want. And so now I do
what I want.

Shove (31:38):
Yeah, and I got a hand tattoo because book it. And it's
the happiest tattoo. I fuckinglove it. It makes me feel so
good about myself. Every time Isee it, like Hell yeah, my hand
is sexy. And I pretend I don'tsee it. I love it. If you
haven't seen it, and you'rewatching it is a flower on my
hand. And I love it. And I'mgoing to get more hand tattoos.

(32:01):
Because i How many hands do youhave been? No, I'm going to get
finger tattoos. You knew that?
We talked about that. Yeah, youhave finger tattoos. You can't
be like don't get fingered onethat you can't even see who's
ringing the other one is likethe teeniest tiniest thing that
people don't even know. It's allright. And like I'm not judging.
It's just Ravel gets like, youdon't think it's hot and I'm not

(32:23):
gonna do it. I'm like, so justbecause I don't I'm not
attracted to it doesn't mean youshouldn't do it. It's your body
and she's like, I want you to beattracted to me. And I'm like,
but that shouldn't stop you.
Like, do you boo me whatevermakes you happy? I support you.

Unknown (32:41):
Yeah

Shove (32:48):
I still want you to think I'm cute though. You're cute.
Even this hand put on my glove.
Anyways, let's do you haveanything else to say about the
real world? No, I hate the realworld. I'd rather live in
fantasy land. Alright then let'sgo to the real world

(33:25):
the will world is where we talkabout all things roller ski.
Yeah. And shove went on a reallycool roller skating trip this
last weekend. Where did you go,babe and tell us about it. two
weekends ago? Oh, whoa. Feelslike it was this last weekend?
Yeah, so like two weeks ago, Iwent to my Ammy the one in

(33:46):
Florida Of course. So I went toFlorida and it's so funny
because side. No, I see you onReddit, that you also listen to
this podcast and you're like, shoves and she didn't want to go
to Miami and they made her Nono, no, I was saying I didn't
want to go to Florida becauseyou know all the Republicans and

(34:08):
guns and like the COVID czarreal of the like majority not
everyone out there and but yeah,so go ahead and misquote me on
my podcast. That's okay. But Ihad so much fun. I don't like I
will before trips I get verylike oh and it's because I'm
anxious about like flying andgoing to places I don't really

(34:30):
know what's going on. Do you notknow me? Obviously if you're on
this episode, you should know meby now. But anyways, keep keep
posting on Reddit and pretendinglike the people you talk about
aren't like literally really notit because we're also
rollerskating I think it's sofunny. I've called y'all out on

(34:51):
this before but it's okay.
Right? It is a beautiful trashfire and if it helps you it
helps you but if you're onthere, it'd be like this is
tablets You might need a betterhobby, and you can quote me on
that and put it in the Reddit.
But anyways, love you. Let'sjump right into our Miami trip.
So the Miami trip was thisawesome thing with this new

(35:13):
company called Lazo that is asister company for Moxie. And we
just want to help, like, bringthe stock of skating to
everyone. And it's really funnybecause people are just like,
what is it? I'm like, I don'tknow. It's like fun skate stuff.
Like, who cares? Like, everyonetakes things so seriously. But
it was really, like really cool.
The point of this trip was tolike, see how the other side of

(35:36):
the country skates and like, what their community is like.
And I think that's one of thecoolest thing. And what I really
want to travel with my skates isthe meet people because in the
internet, we can just be likekeyboard, lawyers with no
keyboard warriors, or like,we're really shy, or we can be
like, super friendly. And thenwe're like the opposite in

(35:58):
person. And it's because theinternet's just not real. It's
just whatever we want, likepeople to see. Or not see. And
in person, you really get toknow those people and then find
out like, Oh, crap, like, Ithought you're one thing. But
here's something else. Like Ithought we didn't really get
along online. But then inperson, like you're my new
bestie. I don't know all theseskate deeds with you. So like,
it's cool to have internetfriends. But like, when you meet

(36:21):
skaters in person, you're justlike, wow, like, I am vibing,
the whole vibe school. And thatwas Miami, like Miami skaters
are so dope. And they were allfrom Miami. A lot of people were
like two hours, four hours away, and they drove him. So that was
cool. But yeah, it was a longweekend of skating. It was
really draining. But it wasdraining because it was so

(36:45):
rewarding that like, I was justlike, oh my god, I'm an
introvert. I can't do thisanymore.

Rebel (36:52):
Yeah, I mean, even you were telling us about your
you're telling me about like thedifferent things you did. And I
was like, Holy crap. You did somany things in one day. That's
insane. I'm tired. Justlistening to you talk about it.

Shove (37:06):
Yeah, when we had a, there was a rollout. And I can't
believe finding out that thewhole rollout was like 20
something miles, which LongBeach would never beach would
lead to the LA Marathon buthappens once a year. Before I
want I showed up to the meetupspot, which I almost didn't make

(37:27):
it to because my anxiety was sohigh. I got there. And I sat to
the side and there was thisbeautiful like our installation
and they had like the sound oflike water. And it was like
bubbles. And it was be like ifyou weren't like in a, I don't
know, fishing or something. AndI was like, Okay, I'll just sit
here. Aside from the like, skaters are starting to show up

(37:47):
and like, you know, do my littlemeditation, my little breathing
exercises, calm down a littlebit. But I kept spinning out.
And then like, a show popped upand was like, are you okay? And
you know how, like, when you'relike, not okay, and someone asks
you, you're okay, I was full onstarted crying. And I was like,
I am not okay, I don't knowwhat's going on. And they were

(38:10):
like, you don't have to be here.
Like, if you want to go back toAirbnb, you can if you want to
go to our friend's hotel, like,I can let him know, like, you
don't have to do this. And I waslike, I know, I just like want
to try like, it sounds reallyfun. Like, I just want to give
it a go. But like, I definitelydid not feel right in my body.
So I ended up like skatingthough because I was like

(38:33):
talking to people the more Italk to people and I was like,
pulled me out of it. And I waslike, Alright, I got this and
there was like some skaters andit was just like, oh my god like
it's rebel here and I was likeshe's not a wish but like so
people were asking about her andit was not an easy skate from
the get go like the streets werekind of smooth but then it was

(38:55):
like this brick road. Like noteven just like just a little bit
like a full freaking soundsterrible. And I went nope, like
literally my pedals were like alucid they're just like huh and
then like I literally must havedisassociated because all sudden
everyone's got cars coming inand I was just like, I'm like on

(39:20):
this weird side of a brick brickroad but in the divider, the
center divider. Oh weird. Andthen cars are going but luckily
there's traffic and I was justlike this part so I think that a
politician what and I'm notgonna say it was Andrew Yang,
because he looked younger thanAndrew Yang but this will look

(39:43):
like Andrew Yang. Hahaha so I amlike setting and then I'm like
you got this like what wouldtell you to do I should tell you
just go. You just got to do blahblah. And you can't do it like,
you know in your mindsetspinning out then all of a
sudden, like I hear, like openswindows. This is like classy

(40:03):
black card. And it's just like avery attractive like, cheesy
smile like Asian man and like anice suit. And like white shirt
and a tie right? This is sofunny, but like, Hey, I got news
for you. And I thought I Here wego, it's gonna be some fucking
fat phobic or pervert pervertstuff, right? He says, Here, the

(40:24):
best person, best dressed personI've seen all day. And he's all
welcome. And he just like putsthe window. Like that was
random. So they go and then I'mlike, okay to do that I love. So
I skate super fast, super fast.
And then I'm like, hit up tothis hill, which is also brick.

(40:45):
And I'm like, doing what? Bricknow going uphill on this rough
terrain. And I'm like, I don'tknow what really went there's
like one thing that goesdownhill. There's one that goes
up. It looks like a bridge, butit's dark outside, because it's
a nightscape and then it lookslike there might also be some
sort of club there because nowit's forming a line of bougie
rich people that are very welldressed because are also and I'm

(41:08):
like I'm in on Sky Blue.
Obviously romper with Sky Bluebraids and roller skates. I'm on
my phones at 9%I don't know where anyone is not
an ideal. Yeah, so that was likesee you have some options. You
could just Bell you could try toget a Uber or you could just sit
here and try to figure it out.

(41:33):
Sometimes I'll just sit down andthe lines getting longer and
longer. And I'm like this isgetting awkward. People are
staring at me. And then allsudden they hear I found my
masterpiece. Look up Asian guyknow this guy has an American
flag pin on his makes mepolitician no one else wears an

(41:56):
American flag on their freakinjacket. And you had that smile
all politicians have doesn'tmatter what their background is
what ethnicity politicians allhave that same smile and sparkle
in their eye. And that's howthey get voted for. They have a
look. Unless we're not evengonna say his name. He wasn't
even a real politician. But hewas voted in to be one and that

(42:19):
was trash. Not a sparkling nighnot a good smile. Anyway. This
of me was like, he's like, Oh, Igot good knees. I like this
might be weird. But do you mind?
Can I take a picture with you? Iwould love to take a picture
with you like you are literallythe most fascinating person I've
seen like You're like you haveyour style is just so unique.

(42:39):
And I was like, Yeah, sure. Andwe took like a picture together.
And this like woman I was withhim like, like had her like
little Hillary Clinton likeoutfit. Like took the picture.
So I swear to God, there's somerandom picture of me out there
with some random politicianexisting. That's what I've built
up my reality. But that was likeone of the biggest things I

(43:01):
forgot to tell you. Thathappened out there. And then I
took an Uber back to Airbnb. Ican't believe you forgot. That's
like a big important news. Yeah,it was like one of the campaign
issues knows the people he founda fat flat queer tattoo person

(43:25):
enrollers kids and their friendssee how inclusive he is but for
him Yes. shoves vote. He shouldhave yours. I don't know let's
say to cool I'd vote for him andI don't even know he sounds were
lay boys. Miami vibe as thisplays. Was it my favorite? It

(43:47):
was beautiful. And there was arteverywhere. And I felt like if I
would have not had just back toback skating and stuff like and
work stuff to do. I would havefully enjoyed it. But it felt
also the dark side was likeespecially like Miami Beach
heart was like I don't do wellaround rich people. And like
especially like born into moneyrich people. Yeah, they have

(44:11):
definitely a different vibe.
Yeah, so like ritzy hotels,Ferraris everywhere. Like,
literally people just being sofucking rude and entitled and
not moving out of the way andjust like oh, so annoying. The
people drive crazy out there.
But I still skated in thestreets terrifying. Yeah, but
oh, well terrifying. But it waslike being a video game. Roller

(44:34):
skate community. I feel likethey have more opportunities to
gather together I heard a lot ofskaters say like, man, we need
to do this like more often likewe're never all in one spot. We
never meet up at the same time.
So like I'm hoping that if weleft something behind it's that
more of the skaters are gonnawant to host their own meetups

(44:59):
together to have Things waslike, yeah because we went like
to outdoor roller rink wherethey were doing like a
fundraiser and then we went todo a skate clinic. A lot of love
in and a lot of love into thedrop in we went to a lot 11 And
skated that is hated the miniover there. Went to orange pills
to watch like the street skatersdo their thing. I know T stocks

(45:20):
went to another wrinkle, indoorrink like an hour away. We did a
streetscape. And like themorning one day, it was just
like so much. So many it wasback to back to back and like
every skater I met was just likeso down to earth. So awesome.
Shout out to I can't rememberyour name, but give me a shot of
whiskey and that's I know wewere soul mates because you were

(45:41):
like, How'd you know? Jameson?
Just you just knew I tried acoca for the first time.
Amazing. I mean, cookie dough.
No, it was like Kolkata. It waslike a little. It looks like a
mozzarella stick. But it's likechubbier. Yeah. And then we went
to like a straw. Cheyenne. Well, like human restaurant the last

(46:04):
night and the food was so good.
But yeah, everything was superawesome and made me really want
to like travel other places, which I know I've said before,
but like giving actually, it wasjust like reinforcement. And
like being like, must travel.
I'm so jealous. I want to travelso bad. Also, there were a lot

(46:25):
of jellyfish in the water. Well, then fuck that. I don't want to
trap but I didn't get stung. Andit was worth it. Nice. Watching
her. Yeah, on the manmadebeaches, because apparently a
lot of the most of the beachesin Florida aren't real. That's
hilarious. Still beautiful, though. So when it comes to

(46:46):
traveling, like where do youtravel to? I want to go to
Ireland. Okay, what about likein the state, I also want to go
to Amsterdam. No, in the States.

Rebel (46:59):
I want to go to St.
Louis. I want to go skating inthat skate park church. And I
want to go to Chicago. And Iwant to go to all the skate
parks in Colorado. And I want togo to the rinks in Atlanta. And
I want to go to the rinks inOhio. And I want to go to the

(47:23):
rinks in

Shove (47:28):
Texas if you go to cascade. I've been to a cascade
before. And what happened you Ijust skated they let you skate?
You weren't where you were thatnighttime? Yeah, it was there at
nighttime. It was hacked. No oneknocked you over anything? No,
because I'm still good skater.
Like I wasn't. I wasn't tryingto like, own the space. I was
literally just skating. Oh, Iknow. I

Rebel (47:51):
just heard some horror stories. Like, no, yeah. I was
only there for like an hour. Andit was early night time. Like it
was probably like nine. Youknow, like, it wasn't like the
late late time. But yeah, I wentby myself, I think actually,
because I was like, I'm here. Iwas there for a tournament. Oh,
and it was when I first itwasn't like I wasn't super into

(48:14):
ranks or anything like that yet.
So I didn't know. I didn't knowwhere I was. I did not
understand. And I want to goback because I had I had no
risk. Not that I didn't respectthe place that I was at. But I
didn't have any sense of like, the history that was there. I

(48:35):
just was like, This is awesome.
It wasn't like, this is

Shove (48:42):
awesome. Yeah. I would like not even bring my skates. I
would just sit there and watch.
I bet I'm here to watch.

Rebel (48:49):
Yeah, well, I wasn't. It wasn't like, I mean, there were
people in the middle. But it wasso packed. Like, it was so
packed. That it was only likejust a little bit of skating.
And like, that was all you couldreally do. It was the most
packed drink I've ever like.
Walk. Yeah, but I didn't knowwhat that was at the time. It
was probably like my, maybe mythird rink that I had been to. I

(49:12):
started skating so it was like, very an charted territory for
me, so I was just like, This isgreat. Like,

Shove (49:24):
I want to go to Chicago to skate with Jessica
catastrophe and goalie. And um,yes, we're gonna Arizona. Yeah.
Welcome back, Heather. Yeah, bother Heather. I'm definitely
not in the summer. And yeah, Iknow a lot of people in Texas or

(49:44):
Texas Well, Texas bluntness ago,and like I have mixed feelings
because I think I have a lot ofpeople as I have. I want to
skated the bear Bay Area. reallybadly. Yeah.

Rebel (50:02):
But yeah, because when we went up there is when I got all
fucked up. And that's why wedidn't really get to do the
whole skating thing. Oh my god,I really want to have we're
actually we're planning to havea Skate Adventure in Vegas. I
really want to do a SkateAdventure in Vegas. That's gonna
happen for sure.

Shove (50:18):
Yeah, we've always made the mistake of going to Vegas
when it's way too hot. So it'slike, we never make the skate
parks for sure.

Rebel (50:25):
So now we're gonna. And then yeah, I just there's so
many places I really want to goto Portland. I just I traveling
is my life. And I literallyhaven't traveled. And I just
feel like a big chunk of me ismissing. And I know that sounds

(50:47):
kind of wild, but like, I know Igot a plane before you. Yeah,
and it's just like I've had acouple opportunities but I've
been doing other jobs orwhatever. So I just haven't
really had the actualopportunity to travel so I'm
really miss it. Even if it's forlike a frickin like tournament,
like for one weekend like,

Shove (51:07):
I just want to go somewhere. Well, we're going to
Bali next summer.

Rebel (51:11):
Yeah, but that's too long. Like I need to I forget. I
keep forgetting to we need tobuy tickets. But I need to get
like I need to go travel thisnext month. Like that's how I
need to. I must. For the sake ofmy sanity. January must involve
travel for

Shove (51:32):
oh, Lord, what's next?
Let's get out of here. It'sfine. Your skate day
and your skate t we actually gotone.

Rebel (51:53):
Yeah. Find your skate date is where you send in your
bio. Your little info about youwhere you're located your
pronouns little pic. And then wetalk about you. And we tell you,
we tell all the people about howgreat you are and then you find
a skate date.

Shove (52:13):
Oh my god, we actually get to be independent for once
and I'm miserable lives. Youknow why? Because it starts off
dear shove and rebel. Wait, what? Amazing shovels dead. Deer
shovin Rebel. My name is Abbyand I am a Boston skater and my

(52:35):
pronouns are they them? SubAbby, winter is coming in
Boston. Sorry Game of Thrones.
Winter is coming in Boston and Iwant to connect with other
people skating for theirserotonin. I would love to
connect to other Boston skatersin real life and with other cold
weather skaters virtually. I amalso an artist and love the

(52:58):
artist slash skater crossover.
My IG is at lavender, underscoremenace underscore press. If you
are interested, my cat's IG Oohis I am the great Norma Desmond.
Thank you. She's not a skater.
But she loves nagging. Notsnuggling noggin skaters. I like

(53:21):
to snug Grebel I love it whenyou snug me. Well, bosses
skaters about you're out there.
We know you're out there. Bostonskaters? Yo Paisley need to go
skate. Yeah, um, theredefinitely is a CIB chapter out

(53:43):
there. So there's definitelyskaters there. Yeah, so if
you're listening, Bostonians butit's it's your time. Bostonians,
Bostonians people, people ofBoston Boston knights. Austin
Bostonians? Yeah, that pleasehit up. Avi. They sound awesome.

(54:09):
Yeah, give him a follow chattedup. Winter is coming and then
this garage is in the here andnow.

Rebel (54:18):
If you want us to read your deer skate day and talk
about you just send an email todeer skate date@gmail.com and we
will read your bio and talkabout you and find your escape
date. Let's move on to do yourshovel

Shove (54:47):
What's your shovel their shovel is an unfortunate place
or unfortunate souls right inbewildered and lost looking for
wisdom Yeah. They obviously tooka wrong turn and got even more.
Because they say that shovel Dowe have a home? Yes, indeed. In

(55:14):
our best way. Yeah, that'sright. Let's see what we can do.
Dear shovel. Most of the skateplaces are open after eight. But
I am a morning person. Help.
You're a morning person who's amorning person. I wish I was a
morning. Your first problem ishere in the morning, you know,

(55:35):
they are the golden standard. Iwish I could I cannot I
literally I struggle so hard. Ialways want to be a morning
person. But I also love stayingup super late doing absolutely
nothing. And except like Andreand my feet. I feel the most
productive that I ever feel likehella late at night. Like, I am

(55:59):
always late that just likehappened. No, I

Rebel (56:06):
learned why. Why? It's because of something that has to
do with ADHD. So because all daylong, I feel like like there are
different I want to saytriggers. But that's not the
correct wording, like differentflags that are like grabbing my

(56:28):
attention right there likedifferent attention demanding
requirements, like TAS text, emails, people who are awake
expecting you to do things, whether it be personal, social,
or like work based. But in themiddle of the night, everyone
expects that you're sleeping. Sothere's nothing like telling you

(56:53):
to do anything else. Like, theonly thing that's telling you to
do anything is your body beinglike you should be sleeping. But
other than that, it's likenothing. So it's like your body
is free. It's like the only timewhen I feel free to literally do
whatever I want to do. Mm hmm.
It's amazing. But then I end upnot sleeping. So it's not

(57:13):
amazing. But that's okay.
Anyways,

Shove (57:19):
we're off topic. We didn't answer the question.
Okay, so um, I don't know, like,is it too late? Like, what time
do you go to bed is when I'mwaiting? That's got to be I
think that eight is too late.
Because I think they want toskate in the morning. I think I
mean, you live somewhere whereyou can't skate like at a tennis
court or anything. Becausesometimes, you know, you just

(57:41):
bring it on speaker and haveyour own party.

Rebel (57:44):
Yeah, I think that it's time for you to DIY some places.
So check out tennis courts. Andit's also hard because we don't
know what kind of skating youlike to do. Like, I don't know,
if you're a skate park person,or like a rink, kind of a person
or cruising kind of a person.
But cruising definitely likedoing a riverbed trail, or like,
skating in like a prettylocation or even like, in a

(58:07):
neighborhood I feel like isactually really cool hella early
in the morning because no one'saround. And I feel like you
actually have access to lots ofdifferent locations. So I think
if you haven't started branchingout into just like, pretty
locations, you should startdoing that, like find some
pretty locations and go there.

Shove (58:27):
Yeah, cuz I don't like Greeks. Because they make sense.
I guess, if you're like, I wantto like work on my dance moves
with other people. But like, ifyou're not into dancing, it's
boring. And I'm sorry, I'm justgonna say it. How many times you
just get my circle? How manytimes? How many times when they

(58:48):
do games, I'm like, Alright, cool. There's something to do
now. But for me, I always thinklike, this is gonna be fine. And
then by like, the third turn,I'm like, hmm. So I want to see
the world. Like, I want to beout there. I want to feel the
wind on my face. I want to like,be like, Oops, I was not looking
at the sky. Like, look at thatcar. Look at that person like

(59:09):
that another roller skater. AndI feel like, I don't get any
kind of serotonin from being atthe rink. That loss over the
first 20 minutes.

Rebel (59:18):
Yeah, it's definitely crazy. Because whenever I'm at
the rink, it's like, I'm noteven concentrated on the fact
that I'm going in a circlebecause I'm so concentrated on
like, what I'm trying to learnhow to do like every single time
I'm at the rink, I havesomething that I'm like, working
on. Yeah, that I'm focusing onand so I'm not even thinking
about the fact that I'm going tocircle I'm just thinking like,

(59:39):
Okay, can I get this 360 Can Iget this Yeah, but if you're not
like but if you're notinterested in that are

Shove (59:47):
the people you see are just skating a circle. Are you
sure that they're not like intheir head like working on
something? They're skating in acircle? Oh, I was imagined
everyone was like work. Oh,trust me because I'm trying to
go fast. because then I'm like,Oh, I'll work on like, you know,
Jukin and just like findingholes and going fast, and I'm
like, everyone's skating slowgoing, and and I'm doing it.

(01:00:13):
Because if I was just trying tolike skate to skate again, I
would want to do that outside.
It's not always just like peoplethat are like in rental skates.
Like, it's like, that wouldtotally be it like, oh, I That's
my only chance to learn that onmy own skates. It'll be people
that have their own skates. ButI'm just saying like, I know,
there's that fear of like, beinga concrete surfer because it's
like, oh, the floors.

Rebel (01:00:36):
Yeah, I was gonna say the rank is is safe. It's a safe
space to like, begin learninghow to skate because there's not
like unexpected cracks orunexpected rocks.

Shove (01:00:47):
I know. Where people have broken things in a rink then
have broken it. Like justskating? Yeah, I'm not saying
that. It's actually safer. I'msaying that the perception is
that it's safer. Because there'snot any of those like, Yeah, I'm
just saying it for the people.
Because I think about it, I beton you're like, Oh, I'm going
somewhere outside and you putfull gear on. But then you go to

(01:01:09):
the rink and you're not wearingany gear. And it's like we have
this weird thing of like, oh,it's polished softwood and flat
and it's like it's like thisweird illusion thing of like,
what's safe and what isn't, butit's all kind of the same thing.
Sometimes the ring can be morescary because there's like kids
just starting or stopping orfalling, like out of nowhere.

(01:01:30):
Yep. dragging you down. Butyeah, there's so you can kind of
create your own rink they do itlike in Venice all the time.
They do it in parts of LongBeach, like in some tennis
courts, like bringing the rightmusic, the right friends, and
you can just have a good time, like tennis courts usually are
pretty smooth. But I know noteveryone has access to him. I

(01:01:51):
would if I had more information.
If this was a longer question. Icould give better advice. So I'm
just rambling off some things.
Yeah. If I were really mad at meafter this episode, first I just
read it. Then I was like, I wantto like bring some board.

Rebel (01:02:10):
Well, like, you know, like, not everyone likes rinks.
And not everyone likes skateparks. And not everyone likes
trail skating. It's just like apersonal preference thing. And
one of them is not better thanthe other. And

Shove (01:02:22):
oh my god, I want to do a trial ski and like Portland,
like an Oregon or something likeI want. Like, who is it? It's
there's a skier who also doeshair. She's friends with live
she lives like in Oregon, maybePortland. And like, there's this
trail. It's like a nature trail.
And it just looks so pretty, especially in the fall. That

(01:02:44):
sounds amazing. And like justsay idea of like skating and
that kind of nature. Because wedon't have that here in
California. I'm always jealous.
Like when I see people in likethe Midwest, or like, yeah, and
it's just like, or theNorthwest. So it's just like so
beautiful. That's I think when Ihear Charles skating, that's

(01:03:04):
what I would want to do. Becausefor us, we're like trail skating
and stuff. We're gonna LA River, which isn't even a roll with it.
River. It's a freaking canal.
We're like, I'm Trotsky.

Rebel (01:03:14):
Yeah. Free really pretty places at like, I think actually
in Florida where a couple ofreally, really? Oh, yeah, they
skated especially like theircolleges there, which is where
I'm working when I travel islike, just so beautiful. And
like you can skate around thecampus. And well, I'm pretty
sure you're not supposed to. Butlike you, you can skate around

(01:03:37):
the canvas. And then, like, skater that doesn't like, it's
so beautiful and stunning andeverything like that. But yeah,
so I mean, I guess if you're amorning person. I'm not saying
if you're a skate park skater tobreak into skate parks, but I
know a lot of people do. And Iwould say more than anything,

(01:03:59):
DIY your ski experience.
