Shove (02:54):
Oh my god skate dates.
Rebel (02:56):
Oh my god, I cannot
believe this gate day is finally
back. Are you so excited, babe,
Shove (03:01):
I can't believe it.
Season Three,
Rebel (03:03):
season three of skating.
This is insane. So escape dateis a podcast by two roller
skaters who fell in love. Andthey wanted to create something
super cool where they could talkabout not just roller skating,
but everything else that'shappening in the world. And so
that is what skate date is.
Shove (03:22):
It sure is. I'm shove and
I'm rebel. And together we are
shovel.
Rebel (03:27):
Can you dig it? Yes, I
can. Nice. Now, if you want to
know a little bit about shoveshove is like the cat's meow.
She is the spiciest and thehottest pepper that you've ever
met. And she's beautiful. Andshe is super fashionable. And
that's what you can know aboutshove and that's why you should
(03:47):
listen to skate day becauseshe's so awesome.
Shove (03:49):
What is this season one?
Are we doing this again? Yeah, let's do it. I had the time like
sit down and write last time.
Rebel (03:56):
I just thought of it just
now.
Shove (03:57):
Sure you did. Anyway,
it's rebel is the cookie zany
white girl in the back of thestory that is shove because I am
the main character of all yourlives just kidding. No, we are
all the main characters are allour lives because we're all
important. Rebel is beautiful.
Pil hauntingly gorgeoushauntingly gorgeous, weird and
kooky and keeps me on my feetdaily.
Rebel (04:25):
Cookie twice that means
I'm double because
Shove (04:27):
he triple cookie. Nice.
She's cookie for the cookie.
Rebel (04:31):
I am cookie for the
cookie specifically chocolate
chip cookies that are salted.
Hmm yum. Love them.
Shove (04:38):
Oh, it's a Merry
Christmas Happy Kwanzaa Happy
New Year and a happy birthday tome and Martin Luther King Jr. We
are back and we took way longerthan we thought and I am not
mad. But here we are. We'reback. Yay.
Rebel (04:55):
We're super excited to be
here. We really wanted to take
some time and figure out Likewhat our plan was for the
season, and not just jump intoit and have zero plan, which is
kind of been what we've done forthe last two seasons. So we're
trying to be a bit moreorganized, which is why it took
like, I think one more week thanlast time, but it's fine. So I
(05:18):
wanted to start this off by kindof just letting you know a
little bit more about what youcan expect this season. So do
you want me to tell them?
Shove (05:29):
Go ahead, bam.
Rebel (05:32):
Okay, so we're gonna have
three breaks throughout the
season. And so the first breakis going to be a spring break.
So we're going to have like aone week spring break, the
second break is going to be ourbig, big break. And that's our
summer break. And that's goingto be we're going to take off
June and July, because we'regoing to be doing a lot a lot, a
lot of skating stuff and otherstuff that we probably won't
(05:55):
have time to be recordingepisodes escape date. And then
the final break we're going totake is that one that we just
got back from, which is the lasttwo weeks of December, and the
first like week or so ofJanuary. So that's what you can
expect you can expect other thanthat episodes every week.
Shove (06:12):
Like the boring stuff,
though, like we'll talk about
when we get to Tom the excitingstuff. What did we get rid of?
Okay, so
Rebel (06:19):
we got rid of a lot of
segments.
Shove (06:21):
I just realized some
people aren't gonna like this.
Oh, yeah. Well, so don't get tooexcited. But we're taking some
stuff away. And then we'rereplacing it with some stuff. So
you'll be okay. What are wetaking away?
Rebel (06:32):
So we are taking away
find your skate date, and we're
also taking away deer shovel.
And we're also taking away thefake ad section. I'm so sorry. I
know a lot of people like thefake ads. But why are we taking
those away, baby?
Shove (06:47):
Alright, so a lot of
those things will fake ads we're
taking away because it does takea lot of energy. And we were
like, We don't want to, youknow, repeat ourselves.
Rebel (06:56):
It was taking so much
time. Like she is even
exaggerating, like she is notshe's selling she's underselling
how much time that the fake adstook the fake ads, were taking
us longer than planning the restof the episode. We're just like,
You know what, we're not gonnado fake ads, unless we have real
ads, and then we'll do real ads,but like no more.
Shove (07:17):
So we'll either get the
ads that people hire us for, or
we will, you know, promote ourown stuff. And yeah, so that's
that. Also, when it comes tofind your skeet D, along with
your shovel, we have to rely onemails, and we don't get too
many of them. They're very, like, we'll have one one week
(07:38):
and then not the next and we'llgo three weeks without them,
then we'll get a bunch. And wecan't really depend on that.
Because it's what you call ituser based.
Rebel (07:46):
Yeah, it's just user,
right? We needed the users to
interact in order to create thecontent. And we wanted to be
able to be a podcast that youdon't have to interact with if
you don't want to. And we feltlike at the end that we are kind
of like guilting you intoresponding. And I don't love
(08:06):
that. And I didn't want you tofeel bad for not like sending in
a deer shovel.
Shove (08:10):
So we will want to talk
to you. So now we will be doing
what was asked in the commentson YouTube, we will be choosing
a comment from the previousepisode, and we'll respond to it
on the next one. So that way,we'll still have that engagement
and there's not that pressure ofwriting in. So that's super
awesome. So that's how we'llinteract with y'all now.
Rebel (08:30):
Yeah, and that way we can
also carry on the topic from the
last week. If there's anythingelse we wanted to add on or like
elaborate on or go in depthwith, we can do that in the
beginning of each episode. Soeach of us are going to pick a
comment from the YouTube or fromthe Instagram. And then we're
going to just talk a little bitmore and respond to that
(08:51):
comment. So if you want tocomment you want to talk with
us, then that's the way to do itis by commenting on the YouTube
or on our Instagram,
Shove (09:00):
it'd be what was my idea
to replace, and your skate date.
Rebel (09:06):
Okay, so this is I'm
obsessed with this idea. And
what we're doing instead of findyour skate date is we're doing a
segment that is called Trick ofthe Week. And not me, not me the
trick, but like roller skatingtrick, like some sort of trick
that someone has done, that wesee on social media or in IRL
(09:30):
that we record. And then we'regoing to be like, Wow, we're so
amazed by this, then we're goingto talk about it. And we're
gonna post that on our socials.
And we'll also put it on theYouTube so you can see what
we're talking about. Yeah, I'mexcited. And then what's the
final segment that we're doingbaby? Do you want me to tell
(09:51):
them because I forgot what it'scalled. Okay, so it's called
obsession. It's alright younamed it obsession. Okay. Unless
you want to name it somethingelse. emanations is like
obsessions. Fine. Okay,
Shove (10:07):
obsessions.
Rebel (10:09):
Okay, so our final
segment, what is our final
segment that I chose
Shove (10:13):
called? Also named. It's
called obsessions. So whatever
we're obsessed with that week, because it changes weekly. It
really does cray cray. And we'reobsessed with lots of things.
Maybe it will help you becomeobsessed with something new. Or
you can geek out of like, thethings we're both obsessed at
the same time with. So superexcited.
Rebel (10:33):
Yeah, so an obsession can
be like a TV show. It can be a
song, it could be a playlist, itcould be an artist, it could be
a clothing brand, it could be anitem of clothing, it could be an
activity, like it can literallybe anything. And I'm really
excited about this segment, because we get obsessed with a
bunch of random shit. And Ithink that you're gonna love it,
it's gonna be an insight into usthat you don't really know.
(10:56):
Alright, so that's it. That'swhat skate dates gonna look like
this season. So
Shove (11:00):
boring updates over bait
and how have you been?
Rebel (11:04):
I've been good. I am
excited that it is January. I'm
excited that it's a new episodeof skate dt. And yeah,
Shove (11:15):
I am not excited that
it's now Aquarius season. Love
you Aquarius is but um, I missedCapricorn Capricorns was poppin
off.
Unknown (11:26):
It was so fun. So
Shove (11:28):
my birthday month, it
doesn't feel like it gets to
celebrate birthday stuffanymore. And I am officially on
week three of Prozac. That'sright over break, they added
Prozac to my list. So now I'm ontwo medications. For my
craziness. It's a lot of sideeffects. Not a lot, but like the
non Nausea is like, oh, itsucks, sucks so bad. But it's
(11:52):
not enough to make me want toget off of it, I'm gonna hang
tight to at least week five toreally make a final decision. I
also feel like I'm more tired.
But that could be a good thing.
Because I'm going to bed wetbefore one before to all the
Rebel (12:05):
time, you're actually
going to bed at like a decent
hour. But I'm also likestruggling to
Shove (12:09):
get up in the morning of
like sleeping in more and more
and like randomly fallingasleep. So there's that. But
we'll see I'm gonna hang inthere. Because if the benefits
outweigh, like those stupid sideeffects that aren't even
serious, that serious, then I'llbe fine. Now I'm getting to
really understand when peopleare like, oh, yeah, like the
(12:30):
medications the worst partbecause with my previous
medication, I didn't have likethat experience, really. So now
I'm really feeling like why itcan be hard to have to be on an
antidepressant that takes like amonth or two to kick in, before
you even know if it's right foryou. And then if it's not right
for you, you have to start thatjourney all over again. So we'll
(12:52):
see mental health check.
Rebel (12:55):
Yeah, and I'm still in
therapy still on Adderall. And I
love it. But now I can tell veryclearly when I haven't taken my
medication, whereas I feel likebefore, I couldn't really tell
as much. I don't know whetherI'm becoming dependent on it.
I'm just becoming more aware ofit. But like when I don't take
(13:15):
my meds I am all the fuck overthe place. I am all over the
place. It's wild.
Shove (13:21):
I think that's good to
recognize. Because if you think
you're fine, then you're like,oh, I don't really need it. Like
it's fine. I only need it forthese days. And then you're
like, oh, wait, there'sdefinitely a difference here.
Rebel (13:31):
Well, I thought I was
fine without it. And then I was
off of it for like a week. Andthen I did like 20 crafts. And I
was like, Wait, why am I onlydoing crafts and literally
nothing else. Like I likecouldn't even focus on my
regular work. I was like justdoing crafts, like buying stuff
for craftsmen doing work crafts, and it was like, Hmm,
(13:52):
interesting. And I didn't evennotice. And then I was like,
you've done so many crafts. Areyou off? You're out?
Shove (13:58):
Yeah. And then what about
skating how you've been feeling
about skating.
Rebel (14:02):
Um, so I took a little
bit of a break. I wasn't really
doing a lot of skating. And thenI actually joined a choreography
class with Candice Hyden. AndI'm totally obsessed with it.
And it has been just sparking somuch joy. And it's reminded me
that I want to get back to goingto the rink and stuff. I tend to
like, go through periods where Ijust like totally go all out.
(14:25):
And then I just like, chill outand like barely do it. And then
so I'm just like trying to getinto some sort of like neutral
like, just like regularterritory where I spend a
regular amount of time skatingand a regular amount of time
working. And like it's kind ofeven ish. But yeah, so I'm doing
that and I fucking love it. Likeit's so great.
Shove (14:47):
I love that.
Rebel (14:49):
I'm obsessed with that. I
am getting progress on my dips
and are stoked about that. And Igot new wheels over the break
and I'm there like no waitsliders. They're like very vain.
Yeah, they're like free schoolsliders. And I absolutely love
them. They're the best. So yeah, why I really like skating right
(15:10):
now. I'm into it. What aboutyou, Ben?
Shove (15:12):
I'm in a skate limbo
right now. And at first, I felt
really guilty about it. And Ifeel like, okay, like, I'm okay.
Because I know, I'm just like inthis weird like, hibernation.
It's like, I'm pretending I'm onthe East Coast just snowed in
and not able to skate. But Icould totally skate at any
moment. I've been thinking thatI need to be more like Evelyn
like Evelyn IV and be like, there's one day a week I skate.
(15:38):
So like she escaped everyWednesday. And she like, does
that skate school with herfriend and everything, friends
and everything. And I'm like, she's like, Yeah, if I haven't
scheduled skate day that I know,at least, like it's Wednesday, I
have to skate. And I'm like, that's kind of genius. So I've
been thinking that maybe I needto have like a designated day
that I'm like, I have to put myskates on that day. Like, even
if it's just to like, like, skate to anywhere. Just put them
(15:59):
on for a little bit. Even in thebackyard. Like, I think that
way. It's like, I know for sure, just like, I remember to water
my plants, because everySaturday, I water my plants. So
like, putting it on my thing, like on my to do list. So even
if I don't, if I feel allscattered or tired, it's just
like, oh, no, I have to do thisto to get me like just in the
groove. Because I definitelyneed to, like make that time for
(16:23):
it. Because especially now atschool is back. I don't know, I
just haven't been. I justhaven't been putting the time
into it lately. But I think it'sjust like, okay, like, you don't
always have to like, keepskating, keep skating, like you
should skate. Like when you'relike No, I really want to like,
well, you know, I think it'slike comes in waves. Yeah,
definitely.
Rebel (16:41):
And I mean, like, at this
point, we're both about to hit
like year five, ya know, like,we've been skating in May, it'll
be five years that we've beenskating. So of course, there's
going to be ups and downs. Likeof course, there's going to be
big segments of time when youtotally skate all the time. And
other times when you don't, andI also think it comes with like,
(17:03):
like how busy your life is, too.
Yeah, you know, like, what ifyou're in school and you're
working and you, you know, aredoing X, Y and Z. That's
physical. I think that there'sdefinitely an impact there for
sure.
Shove (17:14):
Definitely. All right.
Are you ready to jump in thisepisode?
Rebel (17:19):
Yeah, let's do it. Let's
go to the real world first. Oh,
by the way, we're still doingthe real world in the real world
because we'll never stop that.
It's the best part about it.
Never say never, never saynever. Never say never okay.
(17:49):
It's the real world.
Shove (17:51):
Yeah, real shit goes
down. In the real world,
Rebel (17:54):
we talk about real
things. Not that roller skating
isn't real, but just like thingsthat are outside of
Rollerskating so today duringthe real world, because lots of
people have been asking aboutthis, we're gonna give a little
spotlight to shove and talkabout Capricorn season and
birthday and all the things wedid and how it went and
(18:17):
everything so shove, why don'tyou take it away?
Shove (18:20):
All right, so I like to
go big on my birthday. And like,
the pandemic was really hard onme like we're still in the
pandemic but like, the like lastyear's birthday was so hard for
me because like, I am a totaldiva brat about my birthday and
I know I usually like have areputation for throwing amazing
birthday get togethers and notbeing able to do that or see me
(18:43):
my friends like I saw one friendand then hung out with rebel and
rebel did the best she could tomake it a good birthday it still
is very like mer and like rebelknows that because she's had two
full birth is like that. Um,
Rebel (18:58):
the worst the worst.
Shove (19:00):
So this year, I was just
like, I was able to take it in
my hands and like get an air b&band like get friends together
which definitely Israeli to dothat but let me go back to where
I was gonna go with that as Ilike to go super big on my
birthdays because like I knowhow short life can be and like I
tried to like celebrate likethat I haven't given up each
(19:23):
year like even though I've triedto give up in the past. So for
me it's like a big deal and it'smy birthday because it's like a
way to prove myself that like Imade it through all the
bullshit. So this year I got togo back on my grind I'm making
it super amazing and I foundthis rainbow get away. Oh my
god, it's such a beautiful housein a beautiful location and Palm
(19:45):
Springs. Oh my god, likehonestly like it's to the point
where like, you know like a lotof people have like places he
like every year we vacation andbla bla bla like, I would love
for this to be like our vacationspot like every spring well We
can get a group of people we dothe remote getaway we swam,
because it was definitely toocold to get in the pool, but
(20:05):
it's cool, but the jacuzzi wasamazing. Um, but yeah, so like,
I don't know the rainbow getaway each room is like
monochromatic, one color and ourroom was like the honeymoon
suite. Oh, it was gorgeous withall pink
Rebel (20:21):
and fuzzy walls, fuzzy
floors and fuzzy ceiling, but
they were all pink. Yeah, therewas a neon pink color. So cute.
There was pink. Everything waspink. It was awesome.
Shove (20:33):
Yeah. And then like,
there was a purple room and
there was a yellow room and agreen room. And I was like,
amidst it was all midcenturystyle, like in the living room.
Like, it was just like goals.
Like it was like, ignited thatfuel. Like I want to own a house
one day just to have it like artdeco like amazingness like
colorful, like something likeyou walk in and you're just
(20:55):
happy. Like, I want to live in ahouse that I can like, create
like, I want to live in artgallery, like a what do they
call it? Like?
Rebel (21:05):
An interactive? Yeah, an
Shove (21:06):
interactive museum? Yes.
But yeah, and then Palm Springs.
Amazing.
Rebel (21:13):
I did not know.
Shove (21:15):
So I knew a lot of queer
people. Like I was like, There's
queer people go to Palm Springsthe party. Like I knew this was
a thing. And I knew it wasn'tjust like, Dana shore like, type
of deal.
Rebel (21:25):
Yeah. Even though I
always secretly wanted to go to
Dinosaur but yeah, why secretly?
I've always wanted I mean, notsecretly. This like real? Yeah.
Shove (21:35):
But um, yeah. So like,
you go, and it's like, we're
people everywhere. And it'slike, accepting and like, I
don't know, it was just like, awesome. And like, so small, get
things to do like awesome barsand stuff.
Rebel (21:48):
And there was so much
good shopping there. Yeah, cute
place.
Shove (21:52):
boutiques like the coffee
like, the so good. vintage
stores. Like everything wasawesome. The food was great.
There's like no real cars outlike it was. So it was so cool.
Like, I know, we would never gothere in the summer. Of course.
It was absolutely beautiful. Itwas so beautiful. Like the
mountains. Like everything wasgreat about it.
Rebel (22:13):
Yeah. And I just really
liked that we were able to
because we went with like apretty small group of people. So
everyone was being safe. So wejust kind of like stayed with
our own group. And we, you know, made it happen by ourselves. And
I thought, I don't know. It justit was so nice. It was like way,
way way nicer than I ever couldhave dreamed it would be. So it
(22:36):
was so awesome. Rebel
Shove (22:37):
was the DDA and yeah, we
which means like, we had to have
one person in the trunk of mycar. So I felt like this is some
sketchy shit. I did my early 20sYeah, but it was like, you know,
they were safe. I was fine. Idrive like crossover. So it
wasn't like there were too closetrunk like, like a like a
kidnapped person. Or just likechillin like they were just
sitting there like a van withmore room than anyone. Yeah.
Rebel (23:02):
But yeah, I was a DD and
we went, we ate a lot of really
good food. Dinner was we went tomultiple Tiki bars. We went to
gay bars.
Shove (23:12):
Oh my god, we were just
this restaurant was so fancy.
Like we walk in and everyone'sstaring at us. Because we're the
most extra dress like so extra.
All of my friends know how tobring it. We attract people like
yourself. So like, we're alllooking like we just walked in
and it was like, not necessarilylike what the hell people
probably thought like, I thinkit'd be like,
Rebel (23:33):
Yeah, we left. We were
fancy. But we were like,
colorful, edgy. Color colorrolls. Yeah. Like she was
wearing something that lookedlike a silky dry
Shove (23:43):
bootleg silky dress by
sugar thrills. And then yeah,
just everyone, everyone lookedgreat. It looks so good. We sit
down at this giant round table.
And I look to my right, and Isee there's like a purse slash
coat hanger thing. And I'm like,Oh, that's nice. We all hang our
stuff there. And I'm like, Huh.
(24:03):
And then the server comes andthen I see him like grab the
napkin off the table and lay itin one person's lap and goes
around. I was like, Oh, this isa Bougie established.
Rebel (24:12):
Yeah, I didn't realize I
was taking us to a fine dining
experience.
Shove (24:16):
three course meals.
Everyone approved it. It
Rebel (24:20):
wasn't just me all
Shove (24:21):
got a three course it was
you know what, though? It was
cheaper than the Madonna inYeah, it was
Rebel (24:25):
cheaper than the Madonna
in Madonna and was. Oh my gosh,
I was like
Shove (24:32):
that's why we don't go
all the time. Yeah, once a year.
Yeah, we just kind of like putourselves in debt for this
birthday, but it's fine.
Rebel (24:41):
It's fine.
Shove (24:41):
It's 30 it's like a good
number. You gotta go hard.
Rebel (24:47):
I mean, I just am
imagining that it was like last
year's birthday and this year'sbirthday combined.
Shove (24:52):
It was and I felt like I
want to like perfect people. It
was cool because I got to knowother likes. Um, people better
like, you know, like how youhave like friends and then you
have like your friends friendand you're like, Oh, we're cool,
but I don't really hang out withyou. Like, so I feel like, Ah,
she's my tattoo artist and likebecoming even more and more of a
(25:13):
friend like every, like fewmonths or so right. And then her
best friend Alyssa, who doeslike our tooth gyms she like
I've never hung out with herthat much like we have to she
has a pair and so it was cool tohave her there because I got to
know her better. And then it waslike my best friend Derby wife
Healy. And then there's Liza whowent to college with rebel and
(25:35):
their friends and like I'mfriends Elisa as well. And but
like they knew each other first, and then Oh, my God, my mind was
blank. That was it. Yeah, thatwas it. There were supposed to
be two more people there. That'swhy and then two people couldn't
make it. Because there was aCOVID Scare scare. So they said,
and at first I had like a littlehissy fit about it. But then I
realized like, that's fine. Andthen it worked out perfect with
(25:57):
the amount of people we had.
Yeah, so it was a super funbirthday. And the only thing I
would change would be the timeof the year but you can't do
that because it was my birthdayand I was born in the winter.
Rebel (26:08):
She always complains
about her birthday being in the
winter because I want to
Shove (26:11):
do like outdoor seating
or like when people are like
Let's go on a boat. That'd befun.
Rebel (26:17):
I mean, we can always
just say like, we're gonna
celebrate your birthday in Junebut you don't like that. No,
that sounds out bums out. Yeah.
Anyways, so we did that and wehad Palm Springs and then when
we do
Shove (26:32):
um, we went to Madonna
and the next weekend.
Rebel (26:36):
So Madonna in is like, if
you haven't been there, you have
to go there. It is the catchiestit is the cutest it has the most
delicious food ever there forthe food to
Shove (26:51):
be honest. Yeah, we did
we got like a room that was like
most likely haunted because thebeds like we forgot one that the
beds or we forgot every bedsuck. Yeah, but like, but that's
okay. So we're sleep of ourlives. Worse sleep, like so bad.
Like, what?
Rebel (27:08):
It was so bad. And that's
okay, though. Because it wasn't
about the room. Were just like,we just need to get a room to be
able to stay there. We
Shove (27:16):
just need a room so that
we can eat this meal and have a
place to like go into a foodcoma afterwards.
Rebel (27:21):
Yeah, but we also
explored downtown slow San Luis
Obispo.
Shove (27:25):
Oh, which I didn't know
was also really cute. So cute.
Like Palm Springs also has
Rebel (27:31):
very good shopping and
like just little places. Yeah,
fun. So that was really cute.
And we had Yeah, very rich food.
And then we got cake like atevery meal, because it was your
thing. And basically, yeah, wejust ate a lot.
Shove (27:50):
If you go to the Madonna
and there is the copper Cafe,
which is like on the property.
And that's like the breakfastlunch diner. Get the biscuits.
Rebel (28:01):
Yeah, the biscuits. Well,
so good. They're like, Atticus,
Shove (28:03):
you're welcome. They're
Rebel (28:05):
so good.
Shove (28:06):
Take a bite with their
whipped butter and the jelly and
you're gonna be like, Thank youshovel for your recommendation.
Rebel (28:13):
Yeah, it's it's bomb.
It's bomb. And like, I savedmine for last. And then like, I
saved it as a leftover and thenate it the next day. And I was
like, Man, I should have takenthe whole meal as a leftover
because this is so delicious. So
Shove (28:27):
good. I know. It's like I
should got biscuits to go. But
it's just like everyone thatworks there is really friendly.
It's nice. The food's delicious.
It looks so cute. They have aheated pool and a Jacuzzi that
we didn't go into this time. Butit's also like you feel very
like COVID safe there. And yeah,it was just an amazing
(28:48):
experience. And this year iscrazy. Like we've already
traveled twice.
Rebel (28:55):
Yeah, it's wild. And then
you also got a tattoo here with
a right
Shove (29:01):
Yes, I did. Again, why
we're putting ourselves in debt
this um, I got a giant I guessit's not a full on dollar. But
it's like a half so like imagineit starts the middle is my back
and then spreads out across myshoulders and goes down. And it
(29:23):
was a four hour tattoo with onebreak and as mostly, you know, I
only took that break because mybutt was uncomfortable. It
wasn't even though I had to getaway back. Yeah, and ash kept
like saying like her wrist wasbothering her. So it was just
like let's take a break. I needto stand down. Yeah,
(30:00):
So it wasn't exactly the mostpainful tattoo, it was just that
my skin was so angry so mad soswollen. And so when she went
back to like do touch ups withall dotwork then she was like,
your skin or no like, I waslike, oh, and for part like
tickled so much. I kept laughingso interesting. And then like
(30:24):
there were certain parts whereit made me think of when I got
my first my second tattoo likethe Middle Way back on my spine.
I felt it on my inner arm andwas it shoots like there your
nerves, but it like hurt. Likethe pain was there like it did
it. It was more like oh, likeuncomfortable, not like stabbed.
It felt like, I don't know, likea weird pain. I didn't like it
(30:47):
like that. I hated that morethan the back. Weird. Yeah,
nerves are interesting, butinteresting. Yeah. So like, I
love my back again. It's superawesome. I can't wait to see
when it's like fully healed.
It's been a week today.
Rebel (31:00):
It already looks so good.
Shove (31:02):
I'm so excited. Like, she
made me want a neck tattoo.
Yeah, rebels lips and then. Ohmy god. Rubble love is just
gonna say oh my god. I told herI was gonna get hurt me I'm like
in cursive above my eyebrow.
Rebel (31:20):
Do not do that. That's a
terrible idea.
Shove (31:22):
Come on, babe. Face it,
you know? But yeah, so it was a
bit a birthday month. Now we gotto figure out what to do for
rebels because she had gottentickets to see Adele which was a
miracle. And Adele announcedthat she postponed it so rebels
work these Hurst
Rebel (31:39):
Yeah. So we were gonna go
to the to Vegas for the weekend.
And I don't know maybe we'llstill go to Vegas for the
weekend. I don't know. I don'tknow.
Shove (31:48):
I think we should Airbnb
it with friends. So yeah, I
Rebel (31:51):
do think that's
definitely like my cards for
sure.
Shove (31:54):
Like a short road trip
and stuff. I think that was like
the answer. That was the answer.
That's a perfect thing. Like ify'all out there like worried
about COVID Like, even when wewent out it just wasn't busy
anywhere. And the one place wewent that was like club like we
stayed with like the older crowdthat was like not the dance
floor. And it was like there wasno internet. We so we had a
whole corner of a bar like barslash club place, but to
(32:17):
ourselves, ourselves. Yeah, itwas so cool. So like either go
to a town that's kind ofsecluded if you do want to go
out as well. But or if you don'tliterally like we brought so
much alcohol and food to theAirbnb that like, we didn't even
have to stay out that long. Andwe just got like, wasted and
played games. And it was so fun.
So definitely, like get a groupof friends together have them
(32:39):
all put in on Airbnb. And thatway doesn't come out. So that
much money. The place I stayedeveryone only had to put 250 and
and I told him months ahead sothey could save and it worked
out perfectly. And when you lookat it that way, like it's so
much fun. It's not too badfinancially, and you can have so
much fun. So don't feel likeyour birthday has to be ruined
because of COVID. And it was twonights two. Yeah, that was for
(33:01):
two nights. Yeah.
Rebel (33:03):
So it's nice. Yeah. But
yeah, anyway, so yeah, so that's
a cap on cap season.
Shove (33:08):
Oh my god. No cap.
Rebel (33:10):
No cap, Bo. So next up,
is there anything else you want
to add to the real world?
Shove (33:16):
No, that's it. Um, if it
was Anyone's birthday this last
month what's up? HelloCapricorns I hope you had a
great topic corn season. We'regonna make it through this
craziest Aquarius season, andthen head into emotional
disaster Pisces season, akaparty time. And then it's
tourist season, right? No,actually, no, he gets tourists
(33:40):
after that. And then I'm partTaurus. That's fine.
Rebel (33:43):
Is it twice?
Shove (33:43):
Oh, I know tour No,
April.
Rebel (33:45):
No, it's because some
people always ask me if I'm the
other one, which is whateverit's on the cusp of I can never
remember what comes after.
Because I'm so self centered. Ionly think about the Pisces
season, but I am in Aquariusmoon so it's my time.
Shove (34:05):
Yeah. Tell the people all
your signs.
Rebel (34:08):
Okay. I am a Pisces sun
and Aquarius moon and a cancer
rising
Shove (34:13):
aka shove is screwed
Rebel (34:17):
Yeah, well what an
emotional
Shove (34:19):
wreck I'm with and i love
it i Why do you think I said
kooky like three times todescribe you Yeah. Look at your
signs be I know my chart allover the place. Okay, head on
over to the wheel.
Rebel (34:31):
All right, let's do it
Shove (34:46):
though we'll world when
we talk about all things ski.
Rebel (34:51):
Yeah, roller skating and
life.
Shove (34:56):
Because skating is life
and ski Die motherfucker, am I
right? Alright, so I bet a lotof you haven't heard of
something super epic, that'sgoing to happen. But first I
want to talk about, like, wayback when I think season one we
had talked about if we believed, and me and rebel had a great
(35:20):
disagreement in this, and it wasabout if rollerskating should
have competitions Do youremember that? Ma'am? Yeah,
Rebel (35:27):
I do remember that.
Shove (35:28):
I'm like, do you think
like, and you were like, yes.
100%. And I was like, I don'tknow. Because like, I'm worried
that that will become the mainthing is just like sponsorships
kind of like, create theseparatism. Like, it didn't
skateboarding. So
Rebel (35:43):
yeah, I mean, I don't
know. Because the as things are,
like, evolving, I feel like it'snot everyone that's trying to be
in these competitions. So I feellike it's not creating a
separatism, but more like, youknow, they're just people that
would like to compete, andthey're like, working their
butts off at the skate park andstuff, and they should be
rewarded for that.
Shove (36:04):
Alright, so everyone
listening, I hope you're
listening around the world. Likewe're like, we have people
listening, right? We might, wemight. Alright, so get out your
calendar, get a pen, get apencil, write this down. Um,
April 28. Through may 1 in SantaAna, California, will be the
(36:28):
first quad competition. Oh, mygosh, this year. What does that
mean? What's that mean? Show thequad Cup, the quad cup. Wow, the
quad cup. So we heard a bladingcup, we talked about blading cup
because we were at the last one.
It's an annual thing that theyhave, which like literally
(36:50):
people fly out. And it's all inline sleep skated.
Rebel (36:56):
And they compete. And
they do all these crazy tricks.
And they do lots and lots ofdifferent styles of inlining.
And it's wild.
Shove (37:05):
And apparently all this
past one was the most like
roller skaters that ever showedup. Like to support there used
to be like this, like wholedivide kind of another scene
like, oh, wait, we do all getalong, and we support each
other. And people startedtalking to people. And now there
is going to be a quad cub withinit, which is epic for
(37:29):
rollerskating. Yeah, it's soepic. Yeah. And as you know, my
stance was like, I don't know,like, I'm hesitant. But I think
like I also had mentionedbefore, I do believe that people
should be rewarded that likeliterally see, the sport is
something that's like, superathletic competitive, like once
would be like, Look, I am thebest at something, I put the
(37:50):
work and and I think that'sgreat. And I just remember, want
people to know that, like, whenyou excel and you grow, and you
learn these things and become soepic, and like a freaking beast
that like you also teach someoneelse, all those things and are
accepting and don't likegatekeeping all those skills to
yourself, like, don't want thecompetition get to you like we
(38:11):
should all want everyone to riseup. And it shouldn't be a fight
for sponsorships or shouldn't bea fight for the money
necessarily, like I want to seeall out there competing and like
rooting each other on and likeshowing them how they can
improve their skills. And I wantthe community to still hold on
to that and not let the moneyand the glam glam of it all like
(38:34):
get to them. So that's the onlything I would say like advice
wise going into this. And aslong as that remains there,
remember, like what the skatecommunity really stands for that
I am. So for this competitionhappening.
Rebel (38:45):
I think I have an
interesting perspective now that
I didn't have when we firsttalked about this. And that is
that. So like right now and likea little bit before this. In the
dance skate community. There islike a lot more competition than
ever existed before, not forsponsorships, but for like gigs.
(39:08):
So like commercial gigs, andjust like, you know, random
gigs. And I do think that itkind of fosters this, like,
competitiveness between peoplethat I don't love. Like, I think
that it's kind of like weird, but I do know that that's like,
(39:29):
not something that everyonewho's in that world has adopted,
right? Like, I know plenty ofpeople who go out for jobs, and
aren't at all like, resentful orweird towards other people who
are also going out for jobs. Andso I do think that it is
possible and that it's justabout like how people react to
(39:51):
it. Right? Like, okay, there'sthis awesome opportunity. Now
let's make sure that we'reseeing it as this thing that's
building our community andproviding more value
opportunities within ourcommunity instead of something
that we should like, pusheveryone else aside and try and
grab, you know, and I thinkthat, you know, that really is
happening. And so I definitelythink that it's possible. And I
(40:14):
totally believe in the skatecommunity, and I think we will
be able to,
Shove (40:18):
exactly, yeah, let's not
turn into what happened to
skateboarding. And don't alsolet what happened to the blading
community back in the 90s. Anddon't be get taken advantage of
when you do become like thatskater that wins everything and
like, has your name on all theseproducts and doesn't get
vaccine, you know, a companykind of owns your name and
ideas. So just let's make surethat as we grow, that we learn
(40:42):
from the people that came beforeus, and like we learn from those
mistakes, and don't repeat them, and that way, we can uplift it
and show it like and be like, and maybe we can have those
effects and other sports. Sothat would be kind of cool.
Rebel (40:55):
Yeah. And I do think it's
like, I don't know, I just see
so many skaters, especially Parkskaters right now that I'm like,
damn, like you are, are soincredibly talented. And you
deserve the right. To Yeah, berecognized for all the things
that you're accomplishing. And Ithink that having a competition
(41:18):
that isn't algorithm based, right, so like, I know so many
dope quad skaters who I'm like, honestly flabbergasted every
time they post anything becausethey're so so talented. But they
have so few followers, so likepeople don't see how awesome
they are. Yeah, and I think thatthose skaters deserve the
(41:40):
spotlight. You know, like, Ithink people need to know their
names. People need to know howawesome they are. And like, give
them the avenue to like name atrick or you know, like that
kind of stuff. I think thatthat's the really awesome part
about this.
Shove (41:54):
Yeah, um, I don't know.
I'm like stoked because I feellike there's so many people that
like fly in for this and like, give it their all like I've been
joking with Hebei at work, I'mlike, how's your training going?
I like it'll also be fun becauselike, if it's anything like just
regular blading Cup, which Ishould be is like with blading
(42:15):
cup there was open ski so likepeople could like skate the
course for fun and stuff likethat. And if that happens to be
so much fun and like, all feellike oh, I'll maybe I'll go out
there for fun. And I don't knowlike I have ended with moxie at
this last one. And I'm excitedto do that again and be even
more successful and have morestuff because like there were so
(42:36):
many skaters and now it'll beeven more and I'm super pumped
to meet everyone that comes outto be so epic. So awesome. I'm
like hoping Barbie PITINO comesout again. I'm in Carolina from
Columbia comes out. Like I hopehe gets some people from the
East Coast. Like, I really wantit to be epic. I want it to be
like skate park version ofroller con. Yeah,
Rebel (43:00):
that would be so cool.
Shove (43:02):
Also, like, I played in
cup, there was like a film thing
that like, I wish I would havewent to but I was like, I don't
know if I want to be like inthis theater with all these
people. So I didn't go but Ikind of regretted it because I
guess there was some really goodlike films that played and it
was kind of like back to backshowings. And they summer were
like documentaries of airliners.
And some are just like skatefilms, which is super cool. And
(43:25):
like, if we could do that forlike, rollerskating I think
that'd be epic. So I hope likesome are already in the process
of being made. Or even if theywere like, Let's just show like
Ghoulia Carly clay Craig'sstreet fighters. I know Street
Fighters I was gonna say GhostTown, like Ghost Town, which I
wish was longer because it's soepic and then like, spoiled with
(43:46):
freakin Street Fighters makinggreat making gravy one and two.
Oh, they tell you that I foundthe second one. What? No,
there's a second one. We watchedit. We were bleeding cut. Dope.
Yeah. So there's like two ofthose. There's some other ones I
think I'm moko came out withcame out with one. Oh, yeah,
(44:07):
yeah, I need to watch that one.
But there's like so manyrollerskating if y'all don't try
to look on YouTube, you can findon there's just not as many as
there are in like, skateboardinghas like millions, of course.
And like there's millions, I'msure or hundreds of 1000s of
like bleeding and line ones. Butlike roller skaters we need to
get out in there. The filmmakingYeah, like, as well as things
(44:32):
like I wish I could do but Ineed to be more confident and
like, skating on more terrainsto like keep up with people, but
I think it'd be so dope to learnhow to like film skaters. I'd be
so down because like, I seethings and like the way it like
angles and stuff. Like, I wantto be able to do that. Like I
want to be able to do that forthe community. It would be so
Unknown (44:53):
awesome. That'd be so
so so awesome. Hey, yeah, so
quietkat I'm
Shove (44:57):
super excited. There's
also Camp. Awesome coming up.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. And we'llprobably like, talk about that
more next week. But
Rebel (45:07):
yeah, I don't know enough
information about it to be able
to talk about it now. Yeah. Andthen like quad cup.
Shove (45:11):
Like, there's stuff I
might know that I'm just not
going to talk about right now.
But quad cups come in. And theonly reason I'm talking about
it, and because it's on theinternet, you can see it so I'm
not giving away too muchinformation. But yes, like, ah,
the first quad cup that I hopeis freaking like an annual quad
cup. That would be so sick
Rebel (45:34):
that he says like, I
think it'll happen. I really do
think it'll happen.
Shove (45:37):
Yeah. And I think that
maybe somebody that has a
YouTube channel should maybe golive there.
Rebel (45:45):
Yeah, yeah, definitely. I
think someone who has a YouTube
channel could potentially go
Shove (45:49):
like either go live there
or make the most epic video I
maybe both. Like it needs to bedocumented. Yeah, it'll
definitely be documented forsure. Like, we might need to
hire a backup filmer just tolike get the air of backup
filmer. Jesse where you are.
Yeah, like, just like we neededthe awkward skater aka dammit,
Jesse getting photos like, oh mygod, big stuff. We tell them
(46:13):
like, higher peep Jesse formedia kid. They're, like, we
need to get all these rollerskater like filmmakers and
photographers out there. Like, this would be awesome. It's
gonna be in Dog Days. I bet.
Like we need to make sure thatlike we show up and show out and
like all these in liners aregonna be like, for the roller
(46:33):
skate culture. Yeah. For alittle receipt culture. Do it
for the culture. Yeah. Alright.
So yeah,
Rebel (46:40):
that's get stoked and get
pumped. Because that's, we're
excited. Yeah,
Shove (46:43):
we're gonna talk about
it. We more we get closer to it.
Yeah.
Rebel (46:46):
So that is the real
world.
All right, our next segment iscalled Trick of the Week. This
(47:08):
week, shove has brought ourchick of the week to the front.
Shove (47:14):
This is the segment where
we find the hottest skater and
we're like, that's the trick ofthem. There the trick
Rebel (47:21):
is a segment where we
show you a cool trick that we've
chosen from the week. All right,so so
Shove (47:31):
all the time. I'm like on
Instagram, as y'all know. And
like for me, I live in thestories because that's how I
feel like I get to know everyoneand see the coolest stuff and
then like people reshare totheir stories like people I
don't follow so I see these epicthings. And then I might send it
to rebel because I wasn't reallyon it as much or I think she
(47:51):
goes sweat on the feet a littlebit more.
Rebel (47:53):
Yeah, I go on the feet a
little bit more, but I'm really
work involved right now you postmore than I think he's scroll
scroll. Yes. Yeah, I definitelypost more than I scroll.
Shove (48:03):
So there. Okay, so
rollers skate together on
Instagram roller skate dottogether. reshared a video of
MADI via Diego. That I m a r i vi ll a Diego di e to the n sis
(48:27):
Fairless with a flame emoji. Doyou remember the spam?
Rebel (48:35):
A white. Okay. Okay,
that's insane. i How many
skateboards is that?
Shove (48:41):
Yes. So there is 1234
skateboards piled on top of each
other not standing. We'retalking about on their sides. Oh
my god, they just skate up andthey jump over it. Yes. And
their legs are like to the sidethat just air straight over it.
And then you see like theskateboarders going wild for
(49:02):
them. And it's just like, hops.
It's so epic and hold likeamazing. How many box jumps did
you do? Like right now? I'mcalling so their name is Maria
Victoria. Um, they I'm soimpressed. Yes, they I think
they're in another country. I'mnot sure where they have a
(49:26):
YouTube too. But yes, thisskater insane. Epic epic. Like
how do you just fly through theairlines? They
Rebel (49:38):
gotta have gotten like a
lot of momentum from something
right to get onto that.
Shove (49:45):
Well, one you have to
have amazing speed to
Rebel (49:50):
and you have to like get
you have to practice. That's so
high. That's so high. Like Ithink I can't even I can't even
jump like it. I was gonna say aparking like stop. Like Yeah or
a code you
Shove (50:10):
can jump a parking stop
because you can we can both jump
over a helmet. Yeah, I know Ijust get freaked out. And you
can jump high mental though.
Like you could jump over a combstanding up you could definitely
like you get if you think you'regonna speed because you do jump
really high, like and that's onflat ground without even going
like having a transition tolaunch you up.
Rebel (50:34):
I am just I'm, I don't
think that's true, but I would
love for that to be true videosout there. I think that that
whenever you can jump overthings like that. I'm just like
mind blown and like, how do younot psych yourself out? Like,
I'm just like, that's so cool.
Shove (50:54):
Yeah, the video is in
slow mo. So like, we don't know,
in real time, like how that
Rebel (51:00):
I mean, they were I'm
sure going extremely fast. Like,
like, there's Okay, so it doeslook. So it's not as steep. But
that is an incline. So maybethere's something that they're
going down. Yeah, they probablythey're going down something and
then they went yeah, and that'sprobably I mean even doing that
like I even the thing it how andwhere you go down the big thing.
(51:23):
And then you go over a littlehump and then you go out like I
still am like, how do I even gethigher out of that, but like
there, oh my god, incredible.
Shove (51:31):
What I don't get at
Houghton is, you would think, I
don't know, maybe it's thelaunch of having a tire up. So
you would think in my mind, Iwould want to roll down the tall
pyramid, get that massive speedand then go up the little ones
and jump over something. Ormaybe not because it's too
little humps. But people startfrom one side of a mountain if
(51:54):
you've been there like and thenthey get a lot of speed. They go
down to many tiny little rampthings. And then they shoot up
this really tall freakimpairment and that's where they
jump over trashcans
Rebel (52:08):
No, you want to know why
though. It's because that
actually that like small inclineand then the another incline
that actually gives you so muchspeed like I have totally
enjoyed it there before. And Iwas actually scared of it for a
long time because I like when Iwas too new. I refuse to start
at the top, I would start on thebottom I was too new because you
(52:29):
actually do get a lot of speed.
So I'm assuming that like youget the speed from going down
and then when you're going uplike that's part of the
launching process is you goingup? Yeah. And then you pump out
of it. And that's how you getover the trashcan but I've
actually never tried jumpingover anything at the top of
that. And now I want to
Shove (52:50):
you should definitely try
you know, that's where that side
where the two inclines are onthe other side. There's one and
then it steps and that's the onethat Ash thought there were was
a ramp on the other side. Andshe was forced to jump those
stairs and landed it amazing.
was like don't psych yourselfout, you know, like, but like
good on her for knowing to justjump just like yeah, because
(53:12):
Natalie, don't try and stop. Ifthat's cool. You won't even be
able to like or just skate justlike oh no, I guess I'm skating
down.
Rebel (53:20):
Oh, no. Oh, no, thank
you. Oh, God, no, I do know
people who like have skated downstairs and I'm like, How does
that even like, how do you? Idon't know. How do you not just
like, like, slip out and thenbanana back and like hit your
head? I don't know. But
Shove (53:34):
I don't know. It's crazy.
But um,
Rebel (53:36):
but anyways, yeah. So
Shove (53:38):
for me. And in showing
rebel I would say that's my
Trick of the Week is flying overwhat was that five skateboard
Rebel (53:46):
or skateboard before on
their sides? Yeah, that's
definitely the Trick of theWeek. So you can expect us
telling you about things likethat. And then we'll post that
will ask to repost it. Well asto repost it. And if they don't
let us repost it, we'll post itin our stories so you can see
it.
Shove (54:03):
Yeah, Hekia a few SEO
trick that you liked. Share it,
tag us in the share. And thatway we can share it too.
Rebel (54:11):
Yeah, yeah, for sure. tag
us in it. Let us know. Get us
get our eyeballs on those cooltricks, so we could talk about
them, huh? All right. Let's moveon to the next section
(54:38):
All right, this segment soexcited about this. Oh, Lord.
Okay, this segment is ourobsession. So what are we
obsessed with this week? Do youwant to go first or do you want
me to go first?
Shove (54:48):
I'll go first. Okay,
maximalism and not like
obviously what's in my housefashion. I have like today I
went into like a hashtag on TikTok. and was just like obsessed
with like, fashionistas thatdress like insane. Oh hobo chic
(55:11):
over top high fashion mixed withlike thrifted goodness, like, I
am obsessed, like one andbecause we call them it's like I
want to know this person's lifestory. Like I want to know what
their neighbor is think I wantto know like what people at the
grocery store think when someonewalks around. And like a poufy
dress with a sequined miniskirtwrapped around them and like a
(55:35):
giant scrunchie that's as big asa clown collar. But they also
have a clown collar. But thenthey also have like two hats on
and glasses and mittens. Andlike $1,000 shoes on and I want
to know like everything like howhow they came to be like that. I
think it's amazing. Like someoutfits. I'm like, okay, but a
(55:55):
lot of them are like works ofart. And like I am for it like I
am obsessed with it and makes mewant to dress like more kooky
less the word of the day. Likeit really it makes me want to
push those fashion like, limits.
It makes me want to do more likemore crazy like makeup and be
(56:16):
centric and be like, I wantpeople to see me and be like,
Oh, what the fuck? Or oh my godis so cool. Like, I want people
to be like What the fuck? And Ithink that's so like shocking
and cool. It makes people likequestion why we all have to look
the same and who says whatfashion is. And like, there's
this one I can't remember name.
(56:39):
But there's this one person thatgot me like super obsessed with
it on Tik Tok. And she said thisquote that, like I've heard my
whole life, about how CocoChanel said before, whenever a
woman leaves the house, sheshould remove one item from her
outfit, because it's all thewhole, like, less is more. And
she said, but I like to say thatbefore you leave the house, you
(57:01):
add one more item, and thenshe'll like throw a necklace on
or a ring or like something andI'm like, That's awesome.
Rebel (57:09):
I love that. And I
definitely will say so I on my
tic tock I started doing likeGet Ready With Me videos. It's
only been like three, but Ireally, really like them. And
I'm having so much fun withthem. And doing that has made me
feel the same way that you'retalking about which is this
like, Wait, I don't have a bag.
I don't have sunglasses. I don'thave like a necklace that I'm
adding to this. And so it's mademe add more to what I'm doing
(57:32):
and in turn has made me like howI look. Every single every
single day that I've done like aget ready with me. I've been
like I'm stoked on this. Yeah.
And I'm like, Dude, why haven'tbeen I've been doing this whole
time.
Shove (57:48):
I'm just like a firm
believer and if you look good on
the outside, like you feel goodon the inside. And like, and
that's not like oh, looks ateverything. Like I'm talking
about the way you decorate yourtemple. Like when people are
always like, your body is yourtemple don't blah, blah. Like
I'm not talking about thereligious aspect. I'm talking
about like your body's yourtemple and you live here, so why
not decorate it? So I thought onthe set to use dye your hair do
(58:12):
something crazy. were crazyprints that people say you can't
wear together? If you're likethis, I'm stoked on it. Where it
like who cares what other peoplesay? Because you're gonna look
in the mirror be like, Oh mygod, I look so cool right now.
Little middle school me isfreaking the fuck out. And then
you know, you did a good job.
Rebel (58:31):
I Yes. Okay, so yeah, so
that actually trails really good
into what I was. Okay, so myobsession is people doing inner
child healing. Yes, I know, Ihave been watching all these
people online being like, thisheals my inner child, and I love
(58:54):
it. And it's like, basically,it's like, people doing things
that either they were neverallowed to, or they feel like,
it wasn't like, cool oracceptable or anything for them
to do it while they wereyounger. So then as an adult,
they're like, I'm going to dresslike this, I'm gonna buy this
toy. I'm gonna, you know, engagein this activity that like they
(59:16):
didn't have the opportunity, orfor some reason there was
something like blocking themfrom it. And so they do
activities, or they were thingthat like, makes their inner
child happy. And that createssome sort of healing. Yeah, so
it's just like so the one that Isaw today was someone who was
wearing literally they lookedlike a character in a kid's TV
(59:40):
show. Like they were wearingthis rainbow overalls and they
were wearing like beads on theirCrocs and they were wearing like
ponytails and they were like,This is how my inner child wants
me to dress and I feel so happyabout it and I was like, okay,
and then like that, that toythat a lot of people getting on
(01:00:02):
tick tock where it's like a mat.
It's a magic potion and it like
Shove (01:00:05):
you make to make your
like your friend Yeah, like make
Rebel (01:00:09):
you like create a spell
and you like do this to create a
pet and then like a stuffedanimal comes from it. And people
are like, this is my feeling myinner child like my inner child
needs this. And it's made methink like, Oh, what are the
things that like as I was achild that I really wanted, but
can never get. And like, one ofthe things is like, like these
(01:00:31):
random foods that I was neverallowed to get. Because growing
up poor, it was like, we can'tafford that. And so like, for
me, I like to go to like thegrocery store. And then wherever
at the grocery store, I like toget random things like these
pinwheels which aren't evenreally that good, really aren't
what only my mom was allowed tohave them and, and my mom was
only allowed to have them likeoccasionally. And like I would
(01:00:53):
try and steal them and stuff.
And like I would never get them.
And so for me like buying thosepinwheels, and like eating them
is like healing my inner child.
And I love seeing other peopledoing that. And I just think
it's so happy. I'm totallyobsessed with it. I think it's
awesome. I think it's great thatwe're all collectively being
like, yeah, like we've seen someshit. We've been through some
(01:01:13):
shit. So Let's heal our innerchild together. Like it's so
awesome.
Shove (01:01:19):
I love that.
Rebel (01:01:20):
Yeah, I love it. That's
what I'm obsessed with this
week. Alright, so get obsessedwith it if you don't already.
Yeah. And tell us what yourobsessions are this week,
because we love to hear it.
Also, let
Shove (01:01:32):
us know how you heal your
inner child.
Rebel (01:01:34):
Yeah, yeah. And I'll
think of more ways. I mean, I'm
just gonna keep doing. I thinkit's so awesome. We'll meet you
in the comments. We'll meet youin the comments. We'll see you
there. So that escape date.
That's how these episodes aregonna go. Did you like
Shove (01:01:49):
I did? Oh, one thing we
want to also mention is we're
gonna try to do more Liveepisodes, or no, yeah, we forgot
to say that. So like that way wecan really engage with y'all.
We'll advertise it ahead oftime. And we will go live on
YouTube. And we'll just liketake that audio, and we're gonna
figure it out. We'll take theaudio and like, post it. So
(01:02:09):
it'll be in real time. We mightedit that actually, the audio
part that goes on just podcastwas we'll probably edit it.
Yeah, but YouTube, it'll just belike live.
Rebel (01:02:19):
Yeah, so we're gonna do
that. And that's actually like
earlier, I forgot to say, whenyou have like your shovel
questions, or if you wanted todo a find your skate date, you
can totally do them during thattime. And we'll honor those, and
we'll respond to them. And so ifyou're missing those things,
don't worry, we'll have theopportunity to do that. In fact,
during those lives, we'll tryand do them occasionally. So
(01:02:39):
it's not just once a year, likewe've done one, I think. So
we're gonna do more
Shove (01:02:43):
than Yeah, we do like the
new template that we're working
off. And also just wanted tosay, I really wanted to change
the music and do some thingsdifferent and then I realized it
was vacation. I'm not doingshit. So we'll still probably
work on it, which means it mightbe halfway through the season.
But whether it doesn't happensoon, or it happens over spring
(01:03:04):
break, I I do want to change afew things. So
Rebel (01:03:07):
so if the music changes
or something like Don't be
scared, be scared because it'sjust us. Yeah, it's just we're
the same. It's not the wrongpodcast. Yeah, it's Don't worry
about it.
Shove (01:03:19):
Feels good to be back.
Um, yeah, I
Rebel (01:03:23):
guess we missed you.
Yeah, and if you want to supportus
Shove (01:03:29):
happy three year
anniversary, everyone. Well, not
three year we're going intothree years but a two year
anniversary going into threeyears. Three years, guys. A big
deal. Don't start asking me ifwe're going to get engaged or
not.
Rebel (01:03:43):
Yeah, cuz I haven't even
done. We're about to hit four
years.
Shove (01:03:47):
Exactly. So y'all gonna
be waiting but it was really
fun.
Rebel (01:03:51):
Happy two year
anniversary, everyone. Happy
beginning of three seasons.
Shove (01:03:56):
