I don't want to set the wrong expectation that you don't have to actually sell you do have to sell, you have to ask people to buy – that is so crucial. But, you don't have to be the ‘monster under the bed’ to be effective in sales. You have to understand how to use sales in a way that doesn't feel like sales. I know that sounds kind of counterintuitive. “What do you mean, I'm doing sales, but it's not really sales?”
What I'm really talking about is finding a way to connect with people using less of a ‘pushing the sale’ style and more of a style of educating. And seeing sales is more of a multistep process, as opposed to the same process over and over and over.
