(00:00):
After almost seven years on my spiritual journey, I can truly
say that after trying so many different healing modalities,
I've realized that sometimes themost simple rituals, the most
simple practices are actually the most effective.

(00:22):
So today I'm sharing with you 777 is a magical number for
alignment with the angels. So I'm sharing with you 7 short
and simple practices and tips for creating that daily
alignment. And what do I mean by alignment?
I mean that your mind, your bodyand your soul all feels

(00:42):
congruent with spirit and with the greater path and with the
greater purpose. And whether you believe in God
or the universe or your ancestors or just the earth and
the, you know, divinity that is from the earth, whatever you
believe in, you want to feel more connected to that.
So these are the seven practicesthat don't take too long, that

(01:05):
aren't actually that complicated, that will actually
get you there. What is up guys?
And welcome back to Skinny to Bing.
I am Kayla Rose and hey, YouTube.
This is our third time on YouTube and I'm so blown away by
the amount of new people that are listening to skinny dipping.
If you're new here, know that wehave a community of over
hundreds of thousands of subscribers across Spotify and

(01:28):
Apple podcast. But now we are on YouTube, so
make sure to click the subscribebutton.
I'm Kayla Rose, your host, and you know that I love mental
Health Sciences and talking about the brain and, you know,
really learning the proof in thepudding in the science around.
But then I also love the unexplainable.
I love the magic. I love the woo woo.
And they both are so important to me.

(01:50):
And when they're combined, I feel like I am connected to my
deepest truth. So today I'm sharing with you,
as I said in the intro, 7 short and simple practices for daily
alignment. And I almost feel like I've
tried everything underneath the sun and that's not true because
there's so many different cultures and so many different
practices around the world for healing and connecting to

(02:11):
yourself. And honestly, I always like to
say for people in the beginning of their spiritual journey or
people that don't quite understand it, I'm like, it's,
it's not complicated. It literally is just connecting
to yourself and knowing that when you connect to yourself,
knowing that when you connect toyour spirit, you actually feel
more energized, you feel more alive, you feel an alignment.
When you feel an alignment, the colors that you look at in the

(02:34):
sky are brighter. It just feels like the thoughts
in your brain click faster. It just feels like everything
flows a lot easier when you are truly connected to yourself and
your spirit. And that is what the spiritual
journey really is about. And I had my spiritual awakening
in 2019. For those of you who don't know,
I didn't grow up spiritual or even in any organized religion.

(02:55):
I wasn't atheist either. I just didn't really have
anything to believe in and, you know, discovering spirituality
and my connection with myself and the earth and my spirit
guides and my past loved ones. And now I feel comfortable
saying the word God. I feel connected to God.
When confirmation, I realized that it completely changed my

(03:16):
life and really lowered anxiety.I had so much anxiety in my life
and I've really had to learn thehabits and practices and rituals
that connect me back to my body.Because even though I've learned
so much on this journey, I stillcan feel so disconnected and I
can feel so distracted. So I wanted to share with you
guys practices that actually work for me because I genuinely

(03:38):
feel like when we make the practices too complicated, we
create more resistance for ourselves.
And we really want to lessen this resistance and lower the
entry threshold for connecting to ourselves.
And that's why these specific practices are so incredibly
powerful because they don't takeyou that long.
They aren't something that is like, you know, I do like deep

(04:00):
release breath work and I'm trained in it and I also
practice it myself and that's like a 2 hour practice, not full
of breath work. It's like a 2 hour class in
general. And like I get such a big
release in those moments and it feels so good in healing.
But I think as people who are inself improvement or who are in
the healing world, we can almostget addicted to that feeling of

(04:21):
that big release, that big transformation, that big change.
But the truth is the most peace, the most clarity, the most
groundedness you will feel is when you begin.
Just after you do the deep healing, the deep release and
you go through that chapter is when you just continue to align
yourself every time you fall offback into alignment.

(04:43):
And that is really what the spiritual practice is about.
It's a practice. It's not something that you ever
achieve or reach the final destination of.
It's really a practice and I'm just really excited to lower the
threshold for you to be able to connect yourself by making it
simple. Like I just, I just want to make
it simple because I know that's what I need my little ADHD
brain, like I know that I need it to be simple.

(05:04):
So that's why I'm here to share that with you guys today.
So the eclipse season was so crazy.
I think this episode is premiering after it, but damn, I
felt so out of alignment and just pretty low energy because
of it and just not, not myself. So I want to take a deep breath

(05:25):
and we're going to practice thisall together.
If you're driving, do this at a different time, but you can
still keep your eyes open and dothis if you're busy and you're
doing something while listening to this episode.
And I just want you to take a deep breath in, inhaling and
allowing your stomach to expand, not your chest and through the
nose. Hold your breath at the top.

(05:47):
And I want you to take one more inhale to just fully expand your
lungs. Ready, 321.
Hold. Keep that hold there.
And as you exhale, I want you toimagine that energy shooting
down through your body into the center of the earth.
And from your feet, there are roots that travel into the

(06:08):
center of the earth. And I want you to shoot it down
321. Knowing that in any moment you
can connect, in any moment you can feel more grounded, in any
moment you can feel more aligned.

(06:28):
And sometimes it's not about thebig practices, but it's about
the small one. The first short and simple
practice on my list of 777 is the rooted tree visual.
This is something that I try to do whenever I feel ungrounded or
disconnected for myself. And I basically imagine that my
body is this tree. I'll try to put a visual up, but

(06:49):
it's like literally this tree that I'm sending underneath.
Like you have to imagine that underneath the trunk, there are
all these roots underneath the earth.
And I want you to imagine like when you get to your feet, when
they continue your energy into the earth, these are roots that
are growing outwards and downwards, but mostly outwards

(07:10):
expanding. And then it comes up and it's
kind of this like body of the tree, just like the body of you.
And then when it gets to your head, I want you to imagine it
expanding to the branches of thetree.
And what I love to do is I love to sit or stand with my feet and
the earth doing this visual or really wherever I am.

(07:32):
And I just like to take a deep breath in, connect to my body,
drop in. And I imagine as I'm breathing
in, the energy from the center of the core of the earth is
going through the roots and up to the top of the tree.
And then as I exhale, it clears out any energy and it sends from
the top of the tree down my body, down the tree, tree's

(07:52):
body, down to the roots. And it takes that energy,
anything I'm ready to release and let go of.
And it just brings it to the earth and transforms it and
transmutes it and alchemizes it because the earth is so powerful
in that way and trees are so powerful in that way for
alchemizing energy. So you can do it with me just
inhaling and imagining or feeling what it feels like if

(08:14):
you're not a visual person, to just have that tree shape,
right? Like that.
It's widespread roots at the bottom and widespread branches
at the top, and then the body inthe middle, inhaling in,
bringing the energy in and exhaling, imagining it traveling

(08:35):
downward to the root, passing itoff.
And I love to just do that back and forth a couple times by just
visualizing a tree. I immediately feel more grounded
and connected and it only takes a couple moments and then I feel
it. Something very similar like AB
type B version of this that one of my psychic mediums and

(08:55):
healers taught me was first imagining like a white ball of
light at your feet or at the base of your spine.
You can also imagine your roots growing from the base of your
spine by the way. But you can imagine a white
golden light and roots growing from that ball of light into the
center of the earth from the base of your spine.
And same thing breathing in, allowing the roots to come

(09:17):
through. Clear it out and then she likes
to imagine and visualize golden rings from the bottom to the top
of your being 6 feet below, 6 feet above.
So that's something you can do too.
That's kind of similar. Just some sort of visual
practice that can just drop you in.
Okay #2 So I love breath work and I love deep breath work, but

(09:39):
I realize sometimes I just need a clarity check.
I just need to feel more clear and more energized.
I don't need to go into like a deep release, trauma informed
breath work. So I love to put on a fun song
like Sabrina Carpenter or GracieAbrams or like one of my pop
girlies. I literally love them all.

(09:59):
And I love to put a breath work on and do a three-part breath
where I inhale through the stomach.
Do it with me, inhale stomach, inhale chest, let it go.
And doing that to a little Sabrina Carpenter song.
Oh I like my man. Oh inhale, inhale, exhale

(10:21):
stomach chest release. And I love to do that for just
like a 3 minute pop song and seehow I feel.
And maybe at the end I'll do a little breath hold.
And immediately I feel deeper clarity and I feel more
energized and more alive and more connected to myself and
more aligned #3. So lately I had Mimi, the

(10:42):
founder of Activations, this amazing app that's not like
meditations, it's activation. So they're supposed to activate
you into a state of manifestation.
And I've been loving listening to my activations while putting
my legs up the wall because that's really good for the
inflammation. And I work out a lot.
I've been doing a lot of Pilatesand a lot of gym recently.

(11:02):
So I've been like, OK, I need toput my legs up the wall and then
I'll just put on my headphones and I'll listen to an
activation. And if you guys want to check it
out, I have two weeks for free and a really big discount for
you guys. So just going to lightly plug
that. But I mean, it's free.
You can cancel any time. So might as well try it for two
weeks. The app is honestly amazing and

(11:22):
I'm really grateful. I was listening to the
activations and like doing it way before like I got the code
or anything like I genuinely love this app.
So activations with legs up the wall.
So just listen and relax. And it's crazy that sometimes we
just need to put our legs up thewall and listen to something and
immediately, like, our nervous system feels so much more calm

(11:45):
and our mind finally has an opportunity to let go.
This podcast is sponsored by Better Help.

Barista or a hairdresser. Or a random stranger in a

(12:08):

It is super cool because they're.

help. #4 Something that I have been doing that I've been loving
is I've been putting on YouTube sound bowls and you can look, if
you could look up YouTube sound bowls like you'll see this guy
with colorful bowls in a colorful room and a cat.
And I don't usually like men practitioners, but I actually
really love his videos and I think his sound baths are

(13:34):
amazing. So I've been putting on sound
baths in my house and cleaning my house, doing the dishes,
doing laundry, and yeah, just kind of habit stacking in this
way, clearing my energy, clearing my house's energy.
Sometimes we underestimate our house needs to be cleared.
Not just us, not just we don't need to just be grounded and
aligned, but our house needs to be clear.

(13:55):
Our house needs alignment, our house needs to feel more
grounded. So I love putting on the sound
bowls and letting it take up thewhole house.
And we'll also cleaning my spacebecause for me, I feel like a
clean space creates clarity in the mind.
And that's something that many healers, many psychics have told
me. And sometimes you just need to
do your dishes and do the laundry.
So it's just a double win. OK #5 out of the seven short

(14:17):
simple practices is simply setting your intention in the
morning out loud. You don't even have to write it
down. If writing it down creates more
resistance for you, You're like,Oh my God, I have to take out my
journal. Like, of course, if you want to
write it down, amazing. But the truth is you can just
say it out loud in, in your bed.You can be like, my intention is
to have a joyful day today. Or sometimes it's just my

(14:39):
intention is to make sure that Ifeel more relaxed today, or my
intention is to take care of myself today, or my intention is
to be accountable and get some things done.
That's going to relieve some stress for me.
Just creating intention for yourday.
You don't notice how much that setting your intention and
telling your brain where you want it to go actually impacts

(15:01):
the directions of all your thoughts throughout the rest of
the day. That's why being on your phone
first thing in the morning, which I'm so guilty of, and like
seeing all the things fucked up things that are going on in the
world, like that is just not theway to start your day,
unfortunately. And of course, you want to be
informed and like give yourself that time to do that.
But like first thing in the morning, that's you like
pointing your brain where you want your focus to go.

(15:22):
So first thing in the morning, setting an intention of where
you do want your day to go, not what you don't want because your
brain doesn't understand that, doesn't understand.
I don't want this. I don't want this to happen.
I don't want to feel this no saywhat you do want what you do
want to feel what your intentionis and notice how it allows you
to align your actions to that intention throughout the rest of

(15:42):
the day. And also along with this, it's
not just setting your intention in the morning, but it's setting
your intention before anything before that meeting that you
need to do for that, you know, for that job or, you know,
before you go on stage for something or before you sit down
to record a video or before you go and hang out with a group of

(16:03):
friends. Like setting intentions before
doing anything is going to connect you more to that present
moment. And that feels so good.
And it's just something that takes literally 2 seconds.
You're like, my intention is XYZamazing.
Like it's done now and now you can go about your day.
Like it doesn't have to be that hard.
It doesn't have to be that complicated.
Sometimes the most simplest practices are the most effective

(16:26):
because we actually do them. Not saying the other things
aren't as effective, but it's just like when it's low entry,
when it's not that hard, there'sless resistance and we actually
do them so they are therefore more effective.
OK, we're almost getting there. Number six, this one is
something that I do almost everysingle day.
And instead of meditating and forcing myself to sit down on my

(16:49):
yoga mat, I actually go outside and I lay under this tree right
here. I love this tree so much.
It has held so much space for meand my emotions and my releases
and my feelings and also my expansions and, and my joys.
I'm so grateful for this tree. And I will sit underneath the
tree and I will look up and I will just let my mind wander.

(17:11):
And it's so funny because the reason I put this in was because
a couple weeks ago I was noticing that my partner was
feeling really scattered, right?Like he was just feeling like he
didn't have any mental space or mental capacity because of what
he is experiencing or because ofeverything he has going on.
And I brought him outside. I was like, let's just lay under

(17:32):
this tree for a bit. And he was like, OK, so we lay
under this tree and the first thing is like maybe 30 seconds
and he sits up and he's like, Ohno, I forgot to like do that
laundry thing. I'm going to go throw it in.
I said no, it's OK. He lays back down maybe 2
minutes later he's like actuallylike I have like called this
person and blah blah blah. I said hubs babe, notice, notice

(17:56):
how the moment that you allow your mind to just wander, it's
all these things are coming up. That's truly what meditation is,
is sitting and letting the thoughts just run, run wild so
that they don't have to be stuckin your mind anymore.
And just allowing yourself to sit under the tree and not move
even when the To Do List starts smacking you in the face and

(18:18):
starts to bug you. Like literally sitting through
that. That is what brings us peace.
And don't underestimate just literally going outside and
staring at the clouds and staring at the sky by and
staring at a tree because it is one of the most important things
that you will do for clearing your mind is just giving
yourself an opportunity for nothingness, giving your mind an

(18:38):
opportunity for boredom. We are so fucking overstimulated
in the society and it is causingso many problems for each and
every one of us. And we need to practice and
embody and get used to doing nothing.
And notice that the thoughts will come up.
They'll say oh, you need to do this, this, this, this.
You say, OK, in 20, I'll get to that in 20 and just let your

(18:59):
mind run for 20 minutes and see how powerful that is.
And you don't even have to do anything.
You just have to lay down #7 is something that I love to do when
I feel disconnected from my spirit guides or disconnected
from my grandma's that have passed away.
And I'm like, where is my spiritteam?
Hey guys. Hey guys, I miss you guys.

(19:20):
What I do is I go to my Spotify and I go to all my liked songs,
like 7000 songs from the past seven years, 777 again.
And I literally, I literally am like, OK spirit, like show me
what you want me to hear And then I click or I'll do like,
oh, in three song, show me what I want to hear and I'll click

(19:41):
123 and then whatever that song is.
It's crazy how a song will come up and it's just so clearly
meant for me in that moment. And it's just a fun way to
communicate with spirit and justremind yourself that you are not
alone. You have guides, you have a
spirit team, you have your ancestors, you have your past
loved ones, you have your past animals that have passed away.

(20:04):
And do this like spirit song roulette and just see what comes
up for you. And just little little things
like that where you just consciously choose to connect
and be intentional and listen tothe messages from your guides.
That's just going to strengthen that connection to yourself.
So just to review, we have #1 the Rooted Tree visual #2 breath

(20:28):
work to a fun song with a three-part breath, 3 Activations
with the legs up the wall, 4 sound bowls on YouTube and
cleaning your house. 5 setting an intention in the morning or
just before anything, 6 lying underneath a tree and letting
your mind wander, and seven, doing your spirit song roulette.

(20:50):
I hope you guys like it so much.Reminder that we are doing, it's
still going. It's a month long challenge, but
it's a so it's at your own pace,but it's a 10 day EFT tapping
challenge. EFT tapping is so incredibly
powerful for daily alignment, for changing your state.
All these videos that I've created for EFT tapping, for
reprogramming your mind for success, for an abundance

(21:11):
mindset, for, you know, preppingyourself to be OK with rejection
to anxious attachment style. I made one on what else I'm
trying to remember. But those are just a couple of
the topics for the EFT tapping videos.
And all of these videos are underneath 10 minutes, So it's
supposed to be super easy. So I'm going to say #8 the extra

(21:32):
is the EFT tapping videos on thecommunity or we also have breath
work videos, movement videos, meditation videos, more EFT
tapping videos from the past. And there's just so much.
But in this 10 day underneath 10minutes challenge for EFT
tapping in the and progress community app, which you can try
out below 10 days for free. So you can literally do the 10

(21:54):
day challenge for free because Iwant everyone to try it.
The community is so freaking special and I'm so proud of it.
And the winner wins $111.00. And here's some proof that I do
actually like always pick a winner and they end up getting
paid like a couple days afterwards.
No waiting on their end. I'm serious about creating
motivation for the community to really go all in on the

(22:18):
challenges and to get new peoplein.
So we'd love to have you. You just do the UFT tapping and
then you share about your experience and that's what
qualifies you. So it's really easy and I'd love
to see you guys on the community.
So go check that out. Maybe share this episode on
Instagram, tag me at Sundays kick ass skinny dipping Diaries
that always makes my life, makesmy day.
DM me if you like have any like thoughts, downloads, things that

(22:44):
have come up for you, other simple practices and make sure
to just comment on this video ifyou're listening on Spotify or
comment on YouTube because it helps so much.
And I love doing this. I love creating free amazing
content on YouTube and Spotify and I want to continue to do
that and create free accessible content.
So every time you support with liking or commenting, you

(23:04):
support that. So I love you guys so much.
You are inherently fucking worthy.
Make sure to know that, you know, if you fall off the
tracks, it's just an opportunityto find that daily alignment.
And I fall off the tracks all the fucking time.
Like sometimes I wake up and I'mjust not in the mood and I just
need to do a couple things. Oh, this is my bonus.

(23:26):
One, honestly, like getting in the ocean or taking a shower.
Yeah, those are like any sort ofbody of water, ocean, river, or
taking a shower, like for me, immediately resets me or taking
a bath. So that's always something that
you can do to clear your energy.OK, I think that's it.
I love you guys so much. OK, bye, skinny dipping

(23:48):
listeners. See you next time, fam.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
