Live-play tabletop role-playing in D&D 5e's Ravenloft setting. A party of middle-aged gamers portray hapless heroes on a quest to defeat the tenth-most famous vampire ever: Strahd von Zarovich. Combining Gothic horror with swords-and-sorcery fantasy, we use theatre of the mind to produce lush, efficient storytelling, with some goofy humour thrown in. http://slackandslashpod.com
After a harrowing escape from Castle Ravenloft, some divine guidance gets the heroes back on track: squatting, sponge baths, and haberdashery.
Scott the DM shares his inspirations and role-playing strategies for Hazlik, the creepy-crawly NPC with all the juiciest secrets!
Seeking to escape the trap-filled cellars of Castle Ravenloft, the heroes strike a wary bargain with Hazlik, the Darklord’s vermiculous vassal.

The heroes have found their way into the Larders of Ill Omen under Castle Ravenloft. Here in the Darklord’s domicile, the shadows spring to life and gravity does whatever if feels like. How long can the heroes endure?
An unusual episode. We follow our heroes deeper into the Gloaming, and even catch a glimpse of Baba Lysaga. But then… Scott loses some audio and has to improvise.
The heroes enter the phantasmagoric, fey-haunted world of the Gloaming, and swiftly find themselves in too deep.
Andrej has a stoner moment; Ralston explains abominations to the kiddies; and Dragomir provides a pep talk that characteristically employs a bird analogy.
Holy hemoglobin! It’s a supersized season finale featuring the heroes’ long-deferred dinner with Strahd von Zarovich!
Back by absolutely no demand whatsoever, it’s the drunken conversation that follows the game! We initially chat about Canadian politics, briefly dump on Walt Disney and Florida, and then settle in for an extended chinwag about Star Trek and vampire flicks. We get back to D&D talk around the 50-minute mark.
Clan Hemlock is on the defensive, but one of the Belladonna werewolves has a bone to pick with Andrej. He’s got ninety-nine problems… will lycanthropy be one?
The gin flows at the table and the blood flows in the story as the heroes clear out the werewolf- lousy caves of Clan Hemlock.
The heroes repair to the Wizard of Wines to plan a raid on the local werewolf den. Andrej finally calls Ralston a “little b*tch.”
The aftermath of Yester Hill finds the partly split, and meandering horseless through the (vampiric) mists. Plus: the werewolves of Barovia are preening for a throwdown!
Nadja is missing! Ez is in the Darklord’s thrall! Dragomir is on fire! And Ralston is so, so tired.
Scott the DM offers a post-mortem of the Strahd-tastic encounters at Yester Hill, providing fellow Dungeon Masters with tips for maximizing the environment’s potential for role-playing, combat, and story.
As lightning blasts the ring of stones, a battle rages against a cult of druids and their berserker zealots. And the Darklord himself has a front-row saddle!
The heroes ride to Yester Hill. Nadja ad Ezmerelda make for two increasingly unreliable sidekicks. Promises of druidicide are frustrated when the cult declares Andrej their Big Bear, which is as awkward as it sounds.
Come in! Sit down! Have a cup of wine with the wereravens and listen in as the heroes form a plan to defeat Strahd von Zarovich. The drunker they get, the more awesome their plan becomes!

Hosted by Laura Beil (Dr. Death, Bad Batch), Sympathy Pains is a six-part series from Neon Hum Media and iHeartRadio. For 20 years, Sarah Delashmit told people around her that she had cancer, muscular dystrophy, and other illnesses. She used a wheelchair and posted selfies from a hospital bed. She told friends and coworkers she was trapped in abusive relationships, or that she was the mother of children who had died. It was all a con. Sympathy was both her great need and her powerful weapon. But unlike most scams, she didn’t want people’s money. She was after something far more valuable.
