Speaker 1 (00:00):
Peter.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcometo the Fantasy Football Podcast.
It's been over a year since wedid this, almost.
I'm here.
I'm Chrissy Olde and I'm herewith my best buddy, scott, the
functional alcohol Scott.
How?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
you doing there, buddy, I'm doing good.
You stay a little long on thatalco-pholic.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Are you gonna let that one?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
go.
That's okay.
That's okay, it's how you do.
It's how you do, it's all right.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
I'm doing great, you do you.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Okay, that sounds that's a weird start to the cast
, but that's okay.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
This is what happens when we're out of sync.
You know we gotta get thisthing back.
In an organization we actuallyhave something important to say.
Wait, do we have it?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
People wanna hear what we have to say.
I mean, we have a voice, wehave a voice, we have a voice.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
You know we have a voice.
We have a voice.
Do people wanna hear it?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
though.
Well, maybe if you're inGermany and you're in Japan, or
D&Chang, maybe, I don't know,we'll see.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
You know, some of our most popular people are
actually overseas that listen toour podcast.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah, it's just like our podcast is like an analogy
for NFL football.
It's like it's growing inEngland and Germany and Mexico,
just as we are.
You know Exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
We actually have people in Switzerland, germany,
new Zealand, can't remember therest.
There's many more, but like.
I said, it's been a littlewhile since we've done this, so
it's great to have you back.
It's great to do this, you know, like it's a good chance for us
to catch up, talk about one ofmy favorite subjects, nac
football and hopefully we can bea little more consistent.
It has not been your fault.
No, you haven't done this.

(01:33):
No, you have been busy.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
You have been, you are have been a dedicated golf
coach.
You were coached the boys teamlast year for your high school.
This year you were coachingalso the girls as well too, so
sounds like you had a verysuccessful season.
I mean, you route in the secondplace.
Yeah, and I don't know.
It's called the conference ordivision.
What's it called?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, that's basically a division Okay.
So I walked in the second placeand the first place team didn't
lose all season and as apowerhouse in the whole
California area for golf theylive basically most of the kids
live on the Silverado golfcourse, so you can imagine that
most of the kids are pretty good.
Yeah, it's a private highschool, so they have money.

(02:17):
They have kids that live on thegolf course.
They're good.
But I will say this andprobably really don't need to go
too much into this we're theonly team that actually
challenged them and actuallymake their coach sweat.
I've actually got so pissed.
At the end of the game he madehis girls run five miles because
we got so close to them feedingthem Okay.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Wow, five miles.
That's incredible.
So you took this ragtag team, this bad news bears of golf in
the Napa area, and it soundslike you were able to forge into
fire and get them, rally themto be second place.
I mean, how did you do that?
What are some of yourmotivational techniques to help
spur this great performance?

Speaker 1 (02:55):
You know I laugh at what you're saying and I know
you're kind of.
Yes, the reason why I'mlaughing at it is only because I
actually had to speak on thislast night, oh good, and I had
to speak in front of a bunch ofpeople, you know, in front of an
awards assembly, as to how wedid so well, and the first thing
I had to say I had to use aBrock party reference.
And I used the reference andit's actually very true and you

(03:19):
know I'm a systems guy.
Brock party might not own that, but I do.
And like I have an assistantcoach who, like I'm very
lackadaisical, which is goodbecause I get the kids out of
their heads, which is one of themost important things in golf,
but it's also like one practice.
The girls are like, hey, can wejust take a day off and just
sit there and talk?
And I let him do it.
But I was assistant coach whowas like no, don't let him do it

(03:41):
, don't let him.
He's the guy that fires them up, you know, and sometimes goes
over the top, where I calm himdown.
But sometimes I need that andyou know where my method isn't
working.
I'm like talking to him downlike, hey, don't worry, you got
this, you got this.
Like I need someone to fire meup.
There's my coach.
You know, another coach is likevery analytical and he's like,
hey, coach, do you ever thinkabout this or doing this and
that?
And I'm like, no, I actuallydidn't think about that.

(04:01):
And I he's, like you observed, like this player doing this,
like no, we'll miss that.
And he was very good at thosedetails where I would see the
big picture.
He was in the details.
And then I have a third coachwho is amazing at golf.
I mean, the guy knowseverything and so, like it's
gonna sound bad, but as a golfcoach, that's my weakness I
can't break down a swing verywell.
He can do every little bit, tell him one little piece and

(04:23):
get them going and get theirscores down.
And so I was able to bringthose guys.
You know a great admin teamthat helped me out.
And then, of course, my players.
You know those girls wereamazing and they gel.
You know, within any system, coach or player, you gotta have
people around you.
That's what I had.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
So it sounds like you had your Roy Kent and your
coach beard.
You said it's not like you hadthose guys all around you to
have a great team and bring thegirls to new heights in their
golfing endeavors.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
You know, I wish I would use that analogy, but
that's exactly right, because Ialways use the analogy for the
girls of the goldfish.
Yeah, they like shank a balland make me a goldfish.
Don't worry about that shot, because every bad shot you got
two good ones coming ahead ofyou.
Don't worry about it, justimagine what your next shot's
gonna be.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Oh, it was a Ted Lasso reference and that was the
last reference, and I shouldhave said also the I should have
thrown Nathan Shelley, that thethe wonder kid you know the one
again with Mike Doug.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
You know we had, you know, the other coaches, you
know to fire him up and we hadeverything.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Okay, I'm, I'm getting.
I'm already getting.
I'm already getting fansfootball questions.
Roy Dodder, who's in the fancyfootball league this year?
We're going to fast and furious.
Of course, I don't have enoughcontext, which I should have
told her.
What's the first question?
Should I switch out MichaelWilson for my flex player, but
who's your flex player?

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Let's go on, and let me start with that.
Yes, you should start.
You should switch them out, because Michael Wilson is
probably not gonna do well.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah, he has.
It's been a tough season in NewYork and really their best
offense is their defense, youknow, to be honest, I mean we
all watch the Chargers game andit was.
It's a hard game to watch andclearly their defense was was
the best part of their offense, just like making sacks and
getting the ball back, and Ithink there was like 25 drives
in that game of which is, whichis insane.

(06:17):
And yeah, I don't, I wouldn'ttrust Michael Wilson.
You know what's the name.
The quarterback Wilson is done, okay, but I don't trust anybody
on a team, and do you?
I mean, would you start anybodyon that offense we saw?

Speaker 1 (06:31):
but that's about it.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
But I mean you look at that team like I mean, really
they have the piecesoffensively Everywhere across
the board except for one, thequarterback, yeah.
And so if a team can likeeliminate the run because you
know the quarterback's not verygood, I mean there's no more
place to go.
I mean, sad to say, is thatWilson's not gonna cut it, but

(06:58):
he's not.
You know, and I feel for theguy.
I actually feel like I don'tknow why, but I'm pulling for
him to do well right, but he'sjust not and he's not good and
you know, I wouldn't recommendthem.
You could see it all over theChats.
Their season is done.
If he's the quarterback, yeah.
We're just not gonna scenariowhich he can pull it together to

(07:19):
bring that offense good enoughto be even in the playoffs,
which is sad and that's kind ofthe reality of like four or five
teams In football right now, like I'm sorry, you know the
Giants are screwed, they don'thave their quarterback.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
You know Atlanta I hate to say it, I don't know if
any of those guys are gonna makethem very good.
Heinecke or or the other guywas starting before you got
doves now quarterback for theVikings for the rest of year.
You know so a lot of teams arefacing a lot of challenges and
it's just they're still a longseason to go.
But the Jets I mean at leastthey have the defense to

(07:56):
potentially overcome as we youlook great.
They I know you saw this, dadthe Jets have beaten.
They have beat Patrick Mahomes, they beat Josh Allen and
they've beaten Jaylen Hertz.
That's pretty incredible, andthey did almost stayed in the
game long enough to be JustinHerber.
And it goes back to what youwere saying.
Is that the just defense?

Speaker 1 (08:14):
is amazing.
Yeah, yeah, they get a fewplays.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
And they just get a few plays, an offer, and then
they're fine.
But yeah, it's their third, they're winning ugly, so are
they?

Speaker 1 (08:28):
in a systems quarterback.
This is true.
I got another text yeah, subject Are you done you good?
Yeah, first time texture, along time listener.
My question is should I put inback press dot or golf this week
as quarterback?
That's a, I think, a question.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
those guys are pretty evenly even the match, just
going to my players, justbecause I'm trying to refresh
myself on who's who's playingwho An important part, but yeah,
so I'm gonna set my opinion inthere while you do that.
Good, I really feel like DakPrescott.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
It's kind of falling into his own right now and I
feel like he's.
I think he's In a good spot.
He's doing well.
I feel like this is a good signthat he is actually gonna have
a good, at least the next fewgames.
I won't go any farther thanthat, but I will say he's gonna
have an S few games.
So I would say that, you know, going with Dak Prescott would

(09:28):
probably be the best bet, unlessthey're playing some ultimate
defense, which I don't know.
So they are playing the NewYork Giants, who obviously have
recorded back trouble right now.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Then the team is having big quarterback trouble.
So I, I, they're, they're fit.
The Giants are actually fit.
The grins throw the Port of thepast.
They blitz a lot that gets atthe quarterback.
I and you know Mike McCarthywants to run and he hasn't.
You know, he's kind of backedoff that a little bit the last
few weeks he's actually beenfinally throwing the best player
in the team, the CB lamb.
But I think this week I thinkthey're actually gonna run quite

(10:00):
a bit.
They're gonna be able to run alot of the game.
I think they're actually gonnarun quite a bit.
They're gonna be able to runagainst them and they're gonna
go against an experiencedquarterback.
They're probably gonna get alot of turn.
It was for I.
I mean, I think that you'reright, everything said was right
.
But I think the opponent I'm alittle bit worried.
Jared got goes against thechargers who were 29th against

(10:21):
the past.
I Kind of like got there.
I think he's gonna be just fine, just the matchup.
I would go got.
If you're equal playing thesame team, I probably go press
got.
But I like got from this game.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
And then I know, just discount that.
Here is.
I guess it's similar.
If you go, dog, I feel you'regoing with a high.
You go press going to highceiling, sure?
And I feel like you know whenif you want to win or lose this
game you gotta go with you, geta roll the dice and press, and I
go press that.

(10:54):
What do you think you go backto?
Sounds like.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
I don't, I don't think I would do that in this
game.
I think this is, I think this,while you're I agree with
everything you just said.
He's a the Dax, a high ceiling,higher, higher.
You know, I just think this isa game that they're gonna be
able to run the ball at willagainst the Giants.
They're gonna turn the ballover the Giants gonna turn the
ball over what's the guy's,what's the quarterback's name
for the Giants?
It's a great name.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
With the people in the day huh.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah, they put it in your quarterback.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
I forgot about that.
Yeah, they're putting him onthis.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
They got Tyra Taylor back, which I don't think they
did no time.
Having thought or thought, it'sstill out.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Dr Rickie, I know that.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Tommy DeVito.
Tommy DeVito, I Don't know man,not to offend any.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
But here's the thing you gotta think about too when
you have a bad offense and Ithink it's under underestimated
in terms of, like Tennesseefootball projections, mm-hmm,
you have a bad offense, they'renot the offense.
The defense is not gonna be onthe field long and that means
the offense can have many moreopportunities.
And I don't disagree with youlike those opportunities.

(12:02):
But sometimes when you play aweaker division or sorry,
opponent is gonna be running theball and but there's just gonna
be so many opportunities inthere.
For and you know, again, Idon't Disagree with it You're
saying that got would be a.
If you want to go conservative,I think golf is a better choice
.
Like you're going to get a goodscore from golf based on the

(12:25):
opponent, based on all the otherstuff.
He's got so many great weaponsto throw it to, but I just feel
like that press that's hot rightnow.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
I don't think it's a conservative play, though I
think.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
I think no, no, we need a good play.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
But there's a real chance that, yeah, dallas gets
up 27 or 28, 20 to nothing andthat could be like, or even 24
to nothing.
That could be one or two throwsof the air and maybe 200 yards
of that press cut and they'regonna shut him down at some
point.
Cuz there's me running the ballbecause that's what Mike
McCarthy wants to do.
You know, I think, actually Ithink that's so feeling this

(12:59):
game is probably two touchdownsand 200 yards, easily getting
300 yards and in two or threescores.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Yeah, I don't disagree with that if they go up
.
Big press got some of them godown real fast.
Yeah, um, let's, let's do this.
Yeah, if golf has betternumbers fantasy wise Then press
cut.
I will buy you the first beerat Almas this Next week.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
I'm 100% on board with that.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
So that's not does better.
Well, you're gonna owe me thatfirst beer, which we already
know.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
You're gonna owe me by the way, first game of the
season that we know, the DallasCowboys crushed the New York
Giants.
That press got had six pointthree, two fantasy points.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
That's why I think it's gonna change.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Okay, okay, somehow, somehow, the veto at quarterback
is gonna rally.
Keep them.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Different to press got wasn't in in sync, he wasn't
doing well.
At that time of the year I feltlike he finally like bouncy the
lamb, he's finally realized hey, I need to throw to the guy.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
One thing.
To do it against the Eagles isanother thing to do it against
the New York Giants.
You were just not good.
What are you saying?

Speaker 1 (14:09):
right now.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
It's it's one thing to do it against a team that
they were.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
I mean it's one thing to do against a good team
versus and get a lot of pointsversus a bad team.
Not get a lot of points.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
The Cowboys were in a close, competitive game the
last couple weeks, last threeweeks In fact.
You're right, zach Breska hasgot 26 points, 36 points, 34
points the last three weeksAbsolutely fantastic.
My point is is that I meanthey're not gonna need them that
much of this.
They're just not gonna needthem to do much.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
I don't disagree that I don't disagree that at all,
and you might be right, youmight be Giants, but you might
owe me a beer.
Yeah, I feel pretty confidentactually.
I feel really really good.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
In fact, I'll probably double down that I will
, if that's making two beers.
Two beers you're on, I'm not toshy away for the big money here
.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
You know like obviously two beers a little
steep for my problem.
You know like obviously twobeers a little steep for my
price but I will do it.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Oh yeah, yeah, you will go more than just the tip.
Good job, All right.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
I got another question.
Yeah, next should I be worriedabout Doug John Doug, doug
Douglas right and Walker thethird?

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Uh, you should, but you should only worry about it.
You know if they haven'tpracticed at all on Friday and
but you should look at.
You should basically look atwhat their status is.
Okay if the guy's got a littlelist.
If he just thought was hold outfor a practice, that's okay If
he practiced, like on Tuesday orWednesday, but they just hold
him out into precaution.
You know you need to look atthe context and not just look at

(15:42):
the tag.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
No, somebody's.
Uh, you're right and I agreewith that, like, and if you look
at it, just injuries, um, butDouglas Ziriki, who is just
starting to come on for newengland, I'd be very worried
about that.
Yeah, not to say that there'snot potential there, but there's
hasn't been a track record tobe able to prove that he's going
to be able to do it.
And if you have any questionsabout that, yeah, I would have

(16:08):
questions, just even if he'sfully healthy.
Now, if you look, born beingout, that opens the opportunity
and Douglas has gotten quite afew targets the last couple of
weeks and so that opens up thepossibility of that being really
good.
But there's two things thatreally scare me about Douglas

(16:28):
One being a rookie.
Two being a fellow checkoffense, as a receiver tends to
be like one week one goes hot,one week another receiver goes
hot.
You don't know who that's goingto be.
If I want to walk out the third, walk out the third.
If he's going to play, put himin.
And Charonne you know there wasa big, a lot of talk, included

(16:51):
by me, that Charonne was goingto be a big thing in the Seattle
offense and they're probablysplit carries.
You know it's going to be thisdynamic duo, or whatever you
want to call it Our Charonne.
We need to take over.
There's a lot of chatter aboutwhat Charonne and taking over
Walker the third, but Walker thethird, throughout this year has

(17:11):
been in the game.
He has been the basically aworkhorse of the Seattle offense
.
Now you are seeing the CSCharonne uptake of the last few
weeks, weeks more specifically.
But I wouldn't worry aboutWalker the third unless he's out
.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Absolutely, and he's just got chest he's got.
He's been dealing with the samething the last week and he's
like.
So the other situation was kindof limited practice because
he's got a chest injury.
You know, some of that is likejust pain tolerance, you know
like especially with ribinjuries, and so I think I think
Walker is fine.
Yeah, charonne really hasn'tseized the moment, right,
there's nothing that.
There's nothing.
I've seen in the game versus ohmy God, he's going to take over

(17:51):
.
Versus, like, say, jomar Gibbsfor the Lions, which I think
actually has probably surpassedMontgomery, although I think
it's going to be more 50, 50 now.
But Walker just runs like he'smad at the ground and that's
kind of overused phrase now buthe just kind of runs like he
runs hard, kind of like DamianPierce is another guy that does
that.
They just they just run withthis energy that a lot of other
running backs don't do.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
That's true.
And then you know like thatgoes under undervalued in many
fantasy points, because when yourun hard, if you run a
roadblock, you only get likethree or four point yards per
carry.
But at the same time look at uswear down defenses and just
takes one to spring it.
And March on Lynch, it was theultimate example of that.

(18:34):
You know, maybe didn't have agreat first quarter, didn't have
a great second quarter.
All of a sudden, like thatguy's got 200 yards, almost you
know, and like two touchdownsand so and why was that?

Speaker 2 (18:44):
two bad games in a row, I mean.
But it's against Cleveland andBaltimore, which probably the
two, two of the best rundefenses than it felt.
And now he gets to go againstWashington.
He gets to go to the Rams.
Nothing scares me there.
Even Samson is the nextopponent who's actually given up
the decent amount of yarders aswell.
So I think he'll be, I thinkhe'll be fine and that does like
review.
It's a rookie, you never know.

(19:05):
Bill Belichick, definitely.
That's a big wild card there.
As far as what could happennext, I mean, you're only
playing them if you're kind ofsomewhat desperate.
You got guys still on a buy, Ithink Devonte Smith, I think
Philly's, I think Philly's on abuy this week, if you can
remember.
So yeah, only it's adesperation play.
I think we were looking at that.
I think we're looking atDouglas, maybe over Osborn.

(19:25):
Osborn's got a concussion.
Most guys they get concussion.
They're usually usually out thenext game in general.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
So and I, I don't have to scream.
All right, I got one lastquestion for you.
You feel this has beenexhausted, or do you got any
more else to say on it?

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Nope.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
All good.
What do you think of a tradefor a larvae versus waddle?

Speaker 2 (19:48):
So would you.
The question is, would yourather have a larvae or waddle?
Basically, I would rather have.
I'd rather have waddle, and Ibase it on the quarterback.
I trust Tua way more than atruck trust Derek Carr.
I think both have, you know, alot of a challenge for grabs,

(20:13):
right?
So obviously, tibery kill is Imean Tibery kills.
There's no doubt that he'seither one a, one B with Justin
Jefferson for as the best widereceivers of football.
So waddle's got that to competewith.
But there's nothing else afterthat.
And you look at New Orleans, you got, you know, you got
Thomas and you got Shakir, wholooks like a, who looks like a

(20:36):
guy, is a potential stud, butlook who's throwing on the ball.
So I would much rather go withwaddle or larvae.
How?

Speaker 1 (20:45):
about you.
I'm just thinking of the nextquestion.
I'm just picking up this part, but you look at Carr versus
Garoppolo Readers.
Let Carr go to pick upGaroppolo.
Who would you rather have?

Speaker 2 (21:11):
I mean the sad thing is it's, it's probably car, but
you don't feel good about either.
I mean you don't feel goodabout either because always
grapple is always just an injuryway from whatever you know, and
grapple did relatively okay, but it's a crappy line.
But it's the same crappy linethat the car had as well too.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
I would feel a little more comfortable with car than
the grapple.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Yeah, not a lot, but yeah not a lot.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Yeah, I agree, but I would feel like car has a little
more grit to him to be able tolike.
Grapple is great.
If he has no pressure and haspeople open he's probably better
.
But car can make things up alittle bit better than grapple.
Again, I thought that's all Igo with, but you know the

(21:58):
translate, the coaches, though.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Wouldn't that be great if the so the streamers
like that.
The Patriots might, you know, fire a bell check, like before
the season's over.
Yeah, we greatly fired him, andhe went to the Raiders.
The Raiders like hey, let'stake him.
And then all of a sudden like,oh, wow, we need a coach.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Let's, let's get that no-town, yeah it's going to be
the offensive coordinator.
Yeah that's what it's all aboutit's so bad.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
I mean just I don't know why.
I mean they just got allured byit, right, it's just like it's
just he's just not.
He's just not a good overallcoach, you know, he just hasn't
yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
But let's talk about something actually important,
which is the same slammiesFantasy football league.
Yeah, now, it's not easy to getinto this league.
I understand, like to get in.
It's like a thousand dollarsjust to like get in.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Oh yeah, just a sniff , yeah, just to see what's going
on.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Usually there's a deductible at least a few
hundred dollars that you're like, interested, like if you never
do it, you get it back andyou're off the list.
But last year can you remind mewho the winner was?

Speaker 2 (23:07):
I believe it might have been some fairly lucky team
called the San Francisco fourthand slammers.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
No, I don't think that's correct.
The name was the San Franciscofourth and Niners, but I like
what you're going with.
I think too many whiskeys foryou, but that's okay.
But who's the first place thisyear?

Speaker 2 (23:28):
I'm thinking that for prime Nope they are in first
place of their division.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
The.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
San Francisco.
Fourth and Niners in the firstplace of their division.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
And so first place would go San Francisco.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Fourth and Niners again right, as far as the
division, yes, as far as thedivision, okay.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
So, having said that, yes.
Where are you going?
Would you not say like thedominant team of the last couple
of years, almost like a dynasty, would be the San Francisco
fourth and Niners.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
No, no, I would not say that you would not say that.
There was nothing in me thatwould make that statement.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
I might be unbiased.
Obviously, an unbiased partyisn't here.
I would say that they're almosta dynasty by now.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
How much risky have you been drinking?

Speaker 1 (24:20):
None, but anyway, they are the only one with
actually a trophy for Lennar Sam.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Well, yeah, they purchased it.
Sorry, it seems like somebodywas extremely motivated.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Motivated to win.
That's what I do.
All I got to do is win, win, win.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Okay, okay, okay.
So I want to go back to yourstatement about dynasty.
Okay, so you said 2022, youwere the winner.
Good job, great, actually,great job.
2023, you're leading right now.
The last time.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Let's stop right now.
Last time, you?
No?
Let's just stop the call Lasttime you came anywhere.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Oh, you got third place in 2018 and third place in
2015.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Well, let's just stop the call right there.
Yeah, obviously I got seriousaround last year.
Obviously Before I didn't care.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Your glory years were 2010 and 2011, when you
actually won back to back.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Yeah, let's go there for Warner.
Okay, I'm a back to back kindof guy, so obviously back, way
back in the time I had forWarner back to back.
I felt back to back coming on.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
The Chaitan Brawlers are a bigger dynasty than you.
They finished second place thelast two years.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Really, are you gonna throw a Chaitan Brawlers
reference right now?

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Well, they've actually placed the last two
years that nobody else has.
I mean, they're the only onethat's done that in the last two
years.
So there's that.
Suck on that for a minute.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
I'm gonna suck on it, but it's not that I'm gonna
suck on this whiskey.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
So yeah.
So let's talk about, maybe, howyou've done that.
I mean, let's talk about whatis your path to success.
And I look at your team.
I mean you got a really strongquarterback obviously Patrick
Mahome is, so for two weeks agothat didn't go very well, but
you've done it well.
You got good running backs.
Bijan Javante, you got oh myGod, how have you done this?

(26:35):
You've got wait, you had yourhot pants.
You just had a good week twoweeks ago.
Debo, who's okay?
Luganakua and Justin Jefferson.
Obviously we were big guys thefirst three or four weeks.
Those guys were dominant thefirst four weeks of the season.

(26:56):
I gotta imagine that propelledyou to a lot of victories.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
So who I mean?
Like I don't just agree withsome of the things you were
saying, but Patrick Mahome, youfeel like he's been the top
quarterback this year.
No, he's top three.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
I mean again, it's always to me it's always between
him and Alan and Hertz, andreally the last four weeks of
Burroughs, who's been a stepReally good on fire.
Yeah so, but like so, justpoint of reference, my 12 team
big money league first overallpick, I actually took Mahomes.

(27:37):
It's a two quarterback, it'stwo QB, qb and flex.
So I mean, that's how big I wason Mahomes and to me he was the
safest bet and it's kind of paidoff so far for the most part.
But yeah, he's great and I meanwith him.
And you know, javante Williamskind of quietly has been having

(27:58):
a good year of ESH.
He also got you did really wellas far as and this is probably
a lesson to learn for a lot ofother people you went heavy on
your free agent money we have$100 every year to spend and you
went heavy, I believe, on PukaNakuwa and Tyrone Williams and
those two bets paid off for you, especially in the first four
weeks.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Yeah, and you know, honestly, like there is a lot to
say with that.
In some ways I got luckybecause people didn't leave the
disclaimer.
That happened, that's been here, but which was, you know,
basically the here's how Ireally got lucky.
I actually didn't read itmyself, but I actually put in
the request for those players, for the people that you see,

(28:40):
like two days before because Iknew I was gonna be available.
But you know the day that thosewere gonna be available the
night before and so I put themin a couple of days available,
you know, available before and Iwas able to get them because
most people didn't see it.
I only put them in, not becauseI saw the message, so it was
gonna be a day early, butbecause I actually had some

(29:02):
other things and I was lucky toget those guys because other
people didn't see that message.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
I'm gonna be completely honest.
I'm actually stunned that youhave the best team.
When I look at your roster, I'mgonna be stunned I hate to say
it, but I mean I just like, Iwas like wow, okay.
I mean like if you look at itright now, it's challenged,
obviously because there's buysand there's other things going
on and you know the fluctuationof injuries and guys stepping up
and but you know, wait, who areyou gonna go?

(29:30):
Wait, who are you gonna go toquarterback this week, chris,
you're picking up somebody, obviously because you only have
my homies on your roster.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Yeah, who am I gonna pick up?

Speaker 2 (29:43):
That's a great question.
Should we look at the waiverbar?

Speaker 1 (29:45):
I already know who I'm picking up.
But like I'm gonna try to pickup but I don't know if I'll get
that person, you know.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Well, I mean you know , as far as projections, I mean
it's not like you know you'relooking at the greatest
quarterbacks of all time, right?
So we're looking at fiveprojections, we're looking at
the top five or Baker Mayfield, rock Purdy Will Love Us, Joshua
Dobbs and Tyler Heineke the onewith the best matchup is Will
Love Us going against the 30thranked surprisingly 30th ranked

(30:14):
in Tampa Bay defense.
You know the homeward pickmight suggest that you go with
Rock Purdy, who's going againstthe 23rd defense against
Jacksonville.
So I'm not gonna ask you whoyou picked, but I mean they're
trying to pick, so we don'twanna influence anything, but
those are your options.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Yeah.
So I mean, there's a coupledifferent availabilities there,
not good ones, but like you know, you gotta do like.
Last week, this is beyond.
I picked up Napa Prime and Iscraped them.
Yep, and I don't say thatbecause like I'm gonna brag
about it.
I only scraped them because, like they had multiple players
out on buy weeks, most notablyChristian McCaffrey, but then on

(30:55):
buy week and Travis Kelsey hadan off week, which isn't gonna
happen very often in the 18thseason, 17th game season you can
look at that once.
Once you know, and maybe twicein that year, he's gonna have an
off day in the game andChristian McCaffrey was on buy

(31:17):
week and so I was not reallylucky at all, which I'm gonna
love, but this week I'm notfeeling it.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
So guess who you're playing.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
I'm playing you.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
Yep, yeah, I just noted that.
So we played week one.
You beat me by five, just aboutfive points one, 24 to one 19.
So now we have the rematch.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
It was a rematch and you know who my crypto is right.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Is that?

Speaker 1 (31:52):
it.
You know what team I lose tothe most, who?
Honestly, if you broke it downwhich is good I don't think it
can do it on ESPN, but for Yaluor whatever short you would use,
but you can't break it down towho you win loss or who you see
in.
But I promise you, if I wasable to do that after every

(32:15):
season, who I would lose themost to, it'd be you.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
Yeah, and that's especially the fact.
In the other little fancy forthe LL League, we have our
experimental league.
I was gonna put that up therefor a minute because it's a fun
little thing.
So let me ask you in ourexperimental league we thought
of trying different rules, different ways of doing things.
I think you had a team name atfirst, but then somewhere around
week one or two, you decided tochange that name to something

(32:41):
else.
What was that name?
One for now, the one now?

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Spanking Scott.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Oh, okay, okay, so Spanking Scott, which implies
that you're going to SpankingScott, oh yeah, so we played
twice.
And what was the result?

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Well, do you think I spent any time on that freaking
league?

Speaker 2 (33:02):
I do, I do.
I spend not as much as I do theother leagues.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
It's all incremental, so Well here, yes, you have me.
You're the king of me and youhave destroyed me in that league
.
Here's the thing that I did notunderstand about how we set
things up on defense yeah, it'shorrible yeah.
I don't understand how sounknown linebacker is going to
get more points than Joey Bosaor Nick Bosa or Carmen or a

(33:30):
bunch of other big guys.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
I screwed up IDP forever because I didn't really
think it through.
