Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome, ladies and
gentlemen, to Slinging Sammy's
Fantasy Football Podcast.
I'm Chris and I'm here with.
Well, you introduced yourself afriend, I am apparently Scott
the functional alcoholic.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Let's look at these
roster.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Okay, who do you see
as the best one?
That's a great question.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
We have to look at
the rosters, right, so let's
just do a brief run down.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
We got Nap of Prime,
who obviously is the top dog
right here except you two.
We've got Prescott McCaffrey, gibbs, murray Thomas, eulain
Tucker, kelsey Tua and the restare, you know, whatever.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
So he's got, and he
doesn't have much on his bench
right so.
But you got Christian McCaffrey, you got a chance To Mark Gibbs
.
I think it's going to be atleast 50-50 going forward.
I mean even at least the beastyou know there in Detroit.
I think Montgomery's stillgoing to be fine, I think it's
still going to be, you know,50-50, maybe 60-40,.
Maybe it's swinging the otherway.
Well, who do you see?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
carrying the ball
more when Montgomery gets that.
Montgomery or Gibbs, I stillsee Montgomery.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
I still see
Montgomery too, because I don't
think they want to overuse Gibbs.
You know, I don't.
I think that's, I think that'sfor sure.
But I think Gibbs is stillgoing to be fine, so it's a good
offense.
It's going to score points, soit's a above average offense.
Would you agree?
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yeah, I agree, yeah,
so I think they're going to be
fine.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
You got Kelsey.
Kelsey is going to have hisgreat games Okay games.
Now it's kind of all of asudden that church kill mode.
You never know what you'regoing to get.
He doesn't have much on thebench, you know, as far as
players, so hopefully thestarters will do well.
He's got a chest and tucker.
You got a chest and tucker.
You got a chance.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
But he's a guy, he's
a thing.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
He's got some of the
top players, but I think it
really runs down to Stephen andChristian McCaffrey and, just
and sorry, Josh Kelsey.
Healthy, They'll both go intothe playoffs.
Healthy, he's got a strongchance to ring all.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
And remember with
Brett he went heavy on, he was
by far the most money going intothe draft.
I spent the most money alreadybefore the draft.
So he he saved, montgomery, saved sorry Montgomery,
mccaffrey, kelsey and Chubb.
So he had invested a lot ofmoney in you know, early season.
It paid off.
So kudos to him.
You know several seconds.
He's got like Herbert Kamara.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Barclay, Ayut, St
Brown, Flowers, Schultz.
It's a great roster he's got agreat roster.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
I love his roster.
Sorry, I don't mean to defer toyou guys, but I mean Herbert's,
unfortunately under underachieved.
Kamara was a great, great pick.
Barclay is still going to lovethe load.
Love Raheem, mostert, Mostart.
I like Zay Flowers a lot.
That's second half of theseason.
I'm going to say right now isreally good.
(02:43):
Jake B Myers is still, I think, going to be sold as a wide
receiver three.
So I think he's got decentplayers.
He's got a lot of injuries tooand he's running.
He's got, so he's got thisphenomenon we were talking a
little about there.
Like I don't, I don'tunderstand why people are
dropping people before beforethey pick up other players of
the thing.
So, travis, if you want to tellus why, send us a, send us a
(03:06):
note.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
So you know, you look
at it.
I agree His roster's lookingpretty good.
You know you got somequestionable things here.
I would say, like having JohnPalmer and Mike Williams on the
IR, but you kept those guys bothObviously one IR spot.
You know I've asked one or theother, but he has two little
empty bench spots right now.
We're no reason there.
He's got a kicker which I wouldimagine his kicker is on the
(03:31):
bi-league.
That's why he dropped him, buthe's got empty spots which don't
make sense to me.
And then even on his bench he'sgot like Michael Wilson, which
is the beginning of the podcastwe talked about as well.
And you look at this, it's agreat roster, but why?
Why do you have empty spots?
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
But I guess at the
top three there, and it's no
different.
I'm not trying to slam you orNapa.
I think I liked that startingroster the best, but we'll see
what happens.
I don't disagree though.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Alba with Sam Burns,
we've got Sam Howell, stevenson,
nixon, kirk Allen.
By the way, allen's catch forus was like his thousandth
career catch or whatever it was.
It was amazing Ten thousandthcareer catch.
It's like an amazing LockettAndrews Elliott as a kicker he's
(04:25):
got on his bench, cooper Watsonand I also got a spot on that.
But what do you think of thatroster?
Speaker 2 (04:32):
I think he's actually
got a solid roster all around.
I actually like the benchplayers a lot.
I like Cooper and my receiver, two other ones.
He's the number three at thispoint, the back quarterback, so
that's probably going to run itscourse.
But I like Algear and likeElliott as a back up, like Ford
cream hunt, he's got solidoptions there running back.
I mean, when you got Nixon andStevenson starting, you're
(04:54):
probably okay.
He's got solid.
By receivers.
I mean they're not flashy, noneof them, right as you said,
christian Kirk, you know, andkind of lock it, but they still
just get the job done.
Mike Andrews is the second bestyou know, tied in in football.
I think Algear, you know he'sgot a lot of knowledge out of
his quarterback.
I imagine he might have beenstarting probably Wessel Wilson
(05:15):
before Sam Howell, but I thinkhe's actually got a pretty solid
roster up and down.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
I think so too.
He's got very much the bluecollar roster.
Oh yeah, nothing flashy, nothing with super ultra high
ceilings, but I think he's got apretty solid roster up there.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Yeah, and I just hope
.
You know he started out hot,you know he started out 3-0 and
he's faulted a little bit, butbut you know he's, hey, he's on
a winning streak now.
He beat the methodic ranchers,so only good things are
happening from here.
So well, that's not hard to do.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Really fast.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
That was hard to do.
Can you just explain that?
It's like five minutes ago.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
I was hoping you just
let that.
Oh man, we got Jacob make aMetcalf brown digs over.
You know I'm more like thisteam.
Like wow was pretty good.
He's got James Cook on his bedwhere she'd white.
I'll see much else on therethat would really brag about,
(06:13):
but nothing terrible and I keenon the IR.
What do you think of this?
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah, rashad wise
really come on the last week or
two, I think.
Actually he's, he's, he's solid, I think.
But the thought hardly abuffalo is that, my god.
I mean seem like James Cook wasgonna be a stud beginning year.
I look like he was, and thenthey just don't want to run
anymore.
It's really kind of weird what'sgoing on in Buffalo.
Let's even do that every, everysingle year.
He's got a solid enough runningback or I like where she rise.
(06:42):
I think Russia rice is gonna bea thing, potentially the second
of the season.
But you can never trustanything that goes on in Kansas
City.
It's kind of like the, the newdingy in the Patriots.
As far as you know players, youstill especially why we're
sitting.
I got a browns, a stud, exceptand digs a stud.
He's got a lot of.
He's got a lot of pension.
He does miss freaky.
He lost the first games that hewon the next three games.
(07:03):
They lost the next two gamesand he won the last week's game.
So Doug's streaky, but I meanhe's got good enough players to
take them all the way.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
You know I would say
he's got the best roster working
at this.
You got, you know, maybe anumber three quarterback Running
backs are like streaky but good, like you're kind of commenting
that calf can be streaky buthe's good.
Aj Browns a stud digs, a studGoldert although he's might not
play in the next couple weeks, one of the best tight ends, not
(07:34):
a solid tie in, and he's got asolid bench.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
I mean it's pretty
good roster right there, the big
ones at the bottom, I mean thebit of the IR and so a chains
that's supposed to come back andthat's beyond us.
That guy looked like the bestrunning back in football.
He's running those those fewweeks, so he's supposed to be
come back, I think, in anotherfew weeks or so.
So that's gonna be, I think, huge for him.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Yeah, that makes me
bitter and angry.
Norcal, it makes you angry.
No, that a king is on hisroster.
You know why?
Why I drafted them.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Oh, the first week he
did nothing.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
He wasn't even
playing and I picked him up for
read on Green Bay Drop down, Ishould say, and picked up read.
Literally you know, I pickedhim up and he went off for 200
yards.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
I feel you guess you
drop, you drop CJ Strad.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Yeah, yeah, I mean of
like bad mistakes and it
doesn't just last for a coupledays, it lasts for years.
Sometimes it's like I'm gonnakeep it.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Okay, no count.
Norcal wineslingers so he's got.
He's got Derek Carr is supposedto your best.
Got Derek Carr.
Oh, that's horrible.
He's got somebody else, right,oh God, okay, so he's got.
He's got Derek Henry.
John Taylor hey, john Taylor, think bet is paying off, so
that's good.
Travis Etienne oh God, that's aguy drop, he's got.
(09:08):
So he's got something.
Got Reese Hall and Gus Edwardsand shovel over it.
So he's really strong atrunning bags.
He's got scary.
Terry.
Mike Evans two solo optionsthere.
Please got Marquis Brown.
Tyree kill was obviouslysomething by this week.
John Dotson NorCal wineslingerswe're talking about impressive
rosters.
It's really the only he's weakat Hide in.
(09:29):
He's questionable.
The Joku and the King K and, ofcourse, quarterback.
But why receiver running back?
That might be some of the beststuff we have in early yeah, and
you know the gambles.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
You paid off it with
Jonathan Taylor picking them up
or you know bidding for him thehighest it's paid off.
Etn paid off, I would believein some weeks he's been bad.
I think that's why his recordhasn't been so good.
Etn has been streaky and andMcLaren is always so solid,
evans streaky, tyree kill isamazing, so you can't even
(10:01):
comment on that.
But you look at his roster andeverything is really really good
.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Actually just
challenging, for this ETN is
actually that was three.
He's been.
He scored at least 22 pointsthe last four weeks.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Well, yeah, he's
really come on, but these is
also had weeks before that.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
That weren't so good,
so we should talk about the
fact that I could have kept ETNeither, which I think it's like
about ten dollars, which, atthis where he's at it, could
have been still.
You can that say, scott?
Why did you actually throw himback in the pool?
Because it didn't seem clearhow Peterson was using them.
It just it just seemed very oddlike he wasn't using them in
(10:40):
the passing game at all and theyhot they.
They drafted a guy in the thirdround, tank Dell, nothing, dell
, tank something big B and it'slike all signs pointed like this
doesn't seem like it's goingthe right direction, but
apparently he was great.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Well, the comparison
is like for me.
I picked up Jaden Reed to dropa key.
Hmm, who did you keep in orderto not retain ETN?
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Oh geez, it was just.
It probably was ChristianWatson, you know, you know.
Or Joe Burrow was the other onethat I kept.
So I wouldn't much rather betat the end.
I mean, obviously that was amistake, but it seemed
calculated at the time and sogreat for the slingers for
picking them up.
And again, I mean, why receiverrunning back strong the rest?
(11:33):
I mean, if I was, a slinger, Iwould be looking for a
quarterback and maybe a tied inand taking some of that back
capital and wheeling a deal withsomebody we only got about a
week before the trade line linesup.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Yeah, that's true.
And so what would you do at thesituation for Northfell-Wight
slingers?
Would you trade ETN?
Speaker 2 (11:51):
I might trade
Jonathan Taylor.
I might trade Jonathan Henry, Imean Derek Henry.
I might trade Beast Hall.
I mean you got a lot of optionsthere to get a better
quarterback and there'sdefinitely some other teams that
have maybe better quarterbacksthan Derek Carr.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
So I guess let me
rephrase the question Northfell
is at four and five.
Should he go all in and go forthe playoffs this year and do a
trade?
Speaker 2 (12:14):
like that.
You know everything I just said.
I'm looking at the cars.
You know he scored at least 19points, 18 points the last five
weeks.
If you were a first startingquarterback, would you call that
good I?
Speaker 1 (12:26):
won't call it bad
Enough.
It's good enough.
I wouldn't say it's good.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
I mean I mean he just
sucked the first four weeks of
the season.
He's actually been solid.
The last he does have a buycoming up.
He gets Minnesota, then he getsAtlanta, gets Detroit, carolina
, mary Giants we hear youtalking about that.
He's got nothing scary on hisride on the so maybe he's okay
with car.
But I mean I would considertrying to maybe trade for
somebody better.
You've got a lot of capital.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
So you flip the
players to get good this year,
no matter what.
Yeah, absolutely, that's not awrong strategy.
All right, santa Boilermakers,we have four and five.
They have Josh Allen, ecklerSpears playing right now.
Garrett Wilson, jamar Chase,cooper Cup.
Trent McBride Vikings, zulaBench.
(13:16):
I look at James Conner, who'son the IR, and David Montgomery
Charmene.
We talk about the Colons.
Anything in there that wouldyou like and not like about this
?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
roster.
This is the hardest team right, because everything that the San
Bernard did last year they spungold, everything they did
turned to gold.
Yet they can only keep threeplayers right.
And now this year they kind ofin a way, kind of spun gold in a
way.
But it hasn't kind of workedout the same way that it did
(13:47):
last year Because San Bernarddid a great job, picking up a
good balance of rookies andearly, you know, young players,
and it's just been hard to gelright.
I mean, Eckler was hurts, wilson's got it.
Unfortunately in thequarterback situation, jamar
Chase suffered the three weeksbecause Borough was hurt.
Cooper Cup obviously was outthe first four weeks Because
(14:11):
he's got a solid roster all theway.
There's a lot.
I mean I'd ask you a lot ofplayers on his team.
Would you like them on yourroster?
I would.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
There's a lot of guys
on that team that I would like
on my roster and unfortunately, like you said, there's been some
unfortunate.
Like he did spin gold last year.
I feel like it's coming out ofcosts this year where things
just haven't worked out.
And not to say that he didn'tmake the right choices because
he did.
But you look at Garrett Wilson, that guy was like freaking stud
(14:40):
last year.
You bring in Aaron Rodgers.
It looked like the sky was thelimit and you know now that we
have Zach Wilson playingquarterback again, it doesn't
look good.
Yeah, jamar Chase, like yousaid, borough was out for
whatever reason.
Jamar Chase has not exceeded, not that he's been bad, because
he hasn't been, but he hasn'tbeen great.
(15:03):
Cooper Cup same thing likeCooper Cup.
I said.
I think maybe one game thisyear has been great.
That's about it.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
I mean for.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Cooper Cup it's been
because he's been hurt.
So understandably, that's adifferent scenario.
Did Montgomery was a great pickuntil it wasn't when he got
hurt, you know, and so you cansee, like Zach Charbonnet was
like a trendy pick and he gothim as a rookie and that was
kind of his strategy last year.
But it hasn't had out for thisyear Doesn't mean it won't for
(15:32):
next.
I will say Austin Eckler, though, looks good going forward
.
Josh Allen hasn't looked bad,but I don't think he's been as
good as last year, right, and soeverything just hasn't looked
as good as last year.
And unfortunately for SanHarbor they're four and five at
this point, but they got a greatroster.
(15:53):
It's not like any of those guysGarrett, wilson, chase, cup
you're talking about literallycould be one, two, three and
receivers at the beginning ofthe year.
If I said the top threereceivers are Wilson, chase and
Cup, would you be like laughingme off?
Seems reasonable.
Yeah, I mean, it's possible.
It didn't happen that way, unfortunately for him, but it
would be possible.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Yeah, and then I mean
I don't know that James Conner
status, but I mean I think youget him back, and especially
when you factor that Conner'sactually back in practice
already.
So you get Conner's back, that's actually nice, because
now they're going to have Murray, that could actually I mean,
arizona could be I'm not goingto say their team on the rise,
but they're going to be a teamthat's not going to be a little,
(16:36):
they're definitely going to bebetter, I think the second half
of season with Murray and Connerback.
So that could be a guy thatactually finds his way into it.
That is starting to line upthat.
Go help them.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
So I will say one
thing we'll probably do the next
team, but James Conner I've hadfor the last three years on my
team.
He is a good player when he'shealthy Yep, probably James
Conner is.
He's not always healthy, butyou can count him in.
His floor is really high as arunning back, yeah, but his
ceiling is not very high.
Like, the difference betweenhis floor and ceiling is not
(17:07):
much, right.
But the thing is he's kind ofgot you on your team because you
know what you're going to getyeah, and you're going to get.
You're not going to have a deadgame for him, no, but you are
going to have a game that'sgoing to get you some points and
you're going to be happy with.
The only weakness of JamesConner is his tall funnies.
Injured, yeah, but absolutelyAll right.
(17:30):
So move on.
I don't think you will reallywant to comment on the scene,
but you can.
We got the Mustang ranchers,yeah.
Joe Burrow, aaron Jones, kenneth Walker, the third, jalen
Warner.
We got Ridley CD lamb, CJHawkinson.
We got Christian Watson, adams, jackson Smith, nijima on the on
(17:54):
the bench and Trevor Lawrenceand the Mario Douglas.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
So what do you?
always go off on it.
What's the worst thing?
I have three right three tightends of three quarterbacks.
That's not.
It's not a that's not a thingfor success.
But I was.
I was stashy Calabar, so Imoved I him up for my IR today.
That was, that was the firstmove I made today.
I, michael Myers probably notalong from the roster Ever again
(18:23):
.
I should probably should haveworked harder to train him
because he's actually Almost thetop five tight ends.
I should be working harder totrain him.
You know the running backs beenokay.
Kenneth Walker's gonna performlately.
Aaron Jones obviously beenbanged up that.
Those are like the things, theguys that I thought were my key
pieces and I thought really isgonna be a stud.
(18:43):
He's been hot and cold.
Unfortunately.
Cdl is actually been a stud thelast two weeks.
They finally figured out oh, weshould probably throw it a CDL
because he's the best player inthe team and that's helped me a
lot.
Tejas been solid for obviouslygot out to slow start.
So I feel like I got a lot ofpieces.
Maybe speak volume that I'mactually get your opinion and
(19:04):
I'm thinking about sittingDevonte Adams Over Ridley and
CDL and not even put him on myflex over Jeremy Warren this
week.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
I Would disagree with
that Okay.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
That's fair.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
I really feel like
Devonte Adams is gonna have
turned the corner.
Come to Jesus kind of momentwithout With a new coach in
there.
I think they're gonna figuresome things out.
And Mark my words.
If I had to put another beer onthe line, I will say Devonte
Adams is gonna have a Maybe nota massive year, a best massive
(19:38):
game.
Sorry.
Next week he's gonna have areally solid game, better than
Warren, for sure his bestscoring performance in the last
six weeks is 15 points.
I know and I Trust me.
I know this.
I just see things turningaround for Adams.
He's too talented.
They know this.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
They're gonna find a
way to get in the ball, but I'll
be able to actually have awarren, never talking about
roster decisions, right?
My decision for warren is thatI think they're going against
Green Bay.
Green Bay is pretty mid, they're just okay.
I think they're gonna run theball a lot potentially, and so
that was my motivation for goingwarren.
I don't like it, and you'reright, it's a, it's a.
(20:20):
It's a.
It's a Floor player versus aceiling player, sort of thing.
So but I just don't know, Imean how long.
The question is how long youwait on a player and how long
you wait on Devonte Adams, okay.
I'm telling this Going againstthe, we'll go against one of the
best defenses of football, bythe way, too.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
Okay, so we're just
each other next week, right?
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
I will go another
drink, a third drink, that
Devonte Adams will have morefantasy points in Jalen Warren.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Um, I'll make that
bet All right.
So we're up to three drinks, right?
I think actually Jalen Warren'sback before them, like four out
of the last six weeks, butthat's okay, yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
You know, I like the
odds.
I Can see we're going with andthe numbers do support that
Jalen Warren is going to be abetter player next week.
I Just feel like Devonte Adamsis gonna finally pull it
together.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
By the way.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
I think the offense
is gonna finally realize hey, we
have one of the best receiverson the team.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Let's sort of that's
really been doing all season and
it hasn't worked.
So who is the I guess who'sside question?
They were way over.
What is the best division infootball?
Speaker 1 (21:32):
Oh Damn to me it's
not even close.
You and the C was the AFC North.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
It's good, yeah, I
mean.
I mean I just I was thinkingabout that because I was
thinking about Janet Warren.
I mean there's not many betterteams than Cleveland, which is
weird.
Cleveland, baltimore, nobody'shotter than Cincinnati right now
, and you have arguably one ofthe best quarterbacks of the
league and Pittsburgh.
I don't know how they do it.
(22:03):
I literally have no idea howPittsburgh does it.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
But they're like five
and two.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
They're five and
three, whatever they are.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
It's crazy.
It's cause it's called goodcoaching.
Yeah, if you have an amazingcoaching stuff like they do,
that's how you do it.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
All four they have to
have.
There's all four good coachesin that division.
So I mean that's, that's.
I mean to me they are like headand shoulder and like it's not
even close to any other division.
They're like just, they're waybetter.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
All right, let's not
undersell like our last two
teams.
Let's do our best we can to getthis done.
We have Tricown Brawlers JustinFields, naji Harris, isaiah
Pacheco.
We got Moore Higgins, pittman, laporta, buckler Smith, jalen
Hurst, judy Higgins, swift.
It's got a pretty solid LoganThomas on the bench.
(22:52):
Yeah, solid over up and downlineup.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Like everybody in
that lineup and stuff for Jerry
Judy, cause he's he's just a jag, he's just a guy.
But no, he's got guys, he's gota.
He's that tough roster decisionto make every week, I mean with
the, you know, higgins andMoore and Pittman, and he gave
it to him, pickins and that mix.
You know, that's a tough thingto do.
I like I think it was like Icould have kept it a pretty
cheap price whatever.
(23:18):
So he's got decent runningbacks.
Naji Harris well, it's kind of athe running backs are done is
great, sorry, but stronger widereceiver, stronger quarterback.
You know, with with Fields andHurts, laporta has been a
revelation.
I think we might have made funof a certain player for picking
(23:38):
up three tight ends during thedraft, and LaPorta was one of
them.
Do you feel any regret droppingthat guy?
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Do I feel regret
dropping Kain and LaPorta and
caving into the peer pressure ofhaving three tight ends and
dropping the two rookie ones?
Yes, I do.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
I mean, you know,
he's only the fourth ring that I
did in football.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
He has a record and
what's Kain this week like top
three?
Speaker 2 (24:01):
No, I'm not looking
at overall.
He's these fourth overall.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
I know I'm not
talking about overall, but who's
Ken.
Kates, who are the top fivetight ends this week.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Oh, good question.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I'm not looking at that part ofthe roster, but he's been good.
He's gonna wear 15 points thelast three weeks.
Ken Kates.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
I'll tell you that
the top five roster tight ends.
I probably had three of them.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Did you have Muscrate
?
Speaker 1 (24:28):
I'm not bragging the
fact, the fact that I had three
tight ends on my opening roster.
Did you get Muscrate too, or no?
I had Ken Kates, I had KenKates, I had Ken Kates at La
Porta and I had Ferguson.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
You were the tight
end Saban in the draft and it
just didn't work out.
But, joey, tell us about.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
I had Ken Kates Saban
.
There's only one spot.
It's stupid to even carry morethan one tight end.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Let's look at the
picture.
So seven and two, seven and twoof the two top teams you're
gonna have for prime Shankersand Slammers are five and four,
and there are five teams at fourand five.
I mean talk about parity.
I mean, when we're talkingabout who's gonna, I mean it
didn't matter, it was becausethere's a lot of guys that are
teams that are close.
They were very, totally packed.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
But I will say this
there are two that kept me up at
night for dropping.
It's the Ken and La Porta.
If I had those two staying inmy roster right now, versus the
two that I picked up for them,oh my goodness, I would have a
great roster.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Yeah, mine is not
keeping it to you and dropping
CJ Strat, which leads us to thesurprising last place team,
which is the Anink and theSuck-It Self Nation.
I'd say it's surprising that Idropped CJ Strat and he went off
for, like the greatest fancyfootball, I think, quarterback
week of all time.
I believe I'm not really sure51.8 fantasy points.
(25:52):
I know it because I was goingagainst him in another league.
But what's going on with thatteam?
I mean, he's always been apretty good contender.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
He does not have a
bad team.
You look at CJ Strat.
I mean, obviously that'ssomething of a new revelation
and so if you're starting to seethis Strat let's just put it
this way that means yourquarterback situation probably
wasn't very good.
Yeah, and not that CJ Stratgoing forward isn't a good
choice.
But if you're going with thatchoice, it was like roll a dice
of like one intense shot thatyou might win, and he did.
(26:28):
But that's not something you gowith normally.
Madison is not something likeat the beginning of the year.
You're like okay, there's asolid guy that might give me
solid numbers, no big deal.
But he hasn't, unfortunately.
Actually, I'm kind of surprisedby that.
I thought Madison was going tobe better than he is.
I think he's going to be great,but I thought he'd be better.
I thought Tony Pollard had starpower.
(26:50):
He has a team.
Chris Goodwin was going to besolid, but he's not.
Alave, I thought could be astud.
It's not that he'd been bad,but he hasn't been great either.
Deontay Johnson just startedplaying again and that's good.
He's been good.
You know, george Kittle, againa great tight end, has a couple
of games that have been good, but nothing like overall, of
(27:13):
course, this year.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
If you look at this
roster, they're going to see it
and you probably go, man.
That's at least a B plus.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Yeah, and there's
nothing wrong with this roster.
There's a bunch of good playerson it.
This is, unfortunately, a lotof those like I would trade for
some of those players, but theproblem is they just haven't
been good this year, like Ishouldn't say the good, they
haven't been great this year, ifthat's some good games it's the
bad games.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
There's good news for
Angus and himself.
So he literally lost his firsteight games.
He won his last game, beat theNarcissus Wine Slingers.
We have five weeks left in theseason.
In a weird way, he's not out ofit, nah he's got a long run
ahead of him but he potentiallycould somehow sneak in.
(28:03):
Don't think it'll happen, butit could happen.
So, brian, he placed thatroster.
He couldn't have a roster.
You know it said you got achance still.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Okay, so let's finish
this up.
Who is the one with the bestroster that you think is gonna
win us all?
Speaker 2 (28:19):
That's a great
question.
I really really like.
I like Philly fast attacksquite a bit.
You know Lamar Jackson if hecan at the right time.
I really like the San Joseshankers.
I think there's this balanceall around.
So if you're going to force meinto one team just looking at
the rosters, they are now not tosay it's going to affect the
(28:40):
outcome at all.
I think I like the shankersquite a bit.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
Okay, I wouldn't
disagree with that.
I would put Napa Prime in thatwhole category, those top three.
But I would actually go withPhilly fast attack.
I think he's going to make theplayoffs and I think he's going
to excel because he's got a topfive tied in, he's got two of
the best receivers andironically, I think that's
what's going to take him to thetop.
(29:05):
Having the two top receiversare going to be and Sam on deck
hasn't had a great year for him.
I can see him going off and Ijust see his team being the best
.
What I look at Josh Jacobs, youknow, rashon White, I feel like
are on the upswing.
Lamar Jackson top three couldbe could be the top three
(29:26):
quarterback of the league.
You have two of the topreceivers in the league.
Josh Jacobs and White are onthe upside.
I just see Philly fast attackbeing the best.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
But.
But I'm about to put two morein there, just because
Alessandrovers, I think, havealso had a chance.
I really do, really do.
And then Erkan Weinslinger.
If Derek Carter's 20 points agame, that's going to be great
for that roster, so it's goingto be, the point being that it
ain't over.
There's a lot of football leftto play.
This is week nine.
(29:56):
We have 14 weeks in the regularseason.
There's plenty of time to comeback and get cast Okay.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
So who's going to be
last in the league?
Okay.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
That's a great
question.
It's either going to be theMustang ranchers or the inanked
second self nation.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Well, if you go by
record, I think it's going to be
in not going to second safenation.
If you go by playoffs, at theend I think it's going to be the
chai town Brawlers.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
I feel chai town.
It kind of falters in theplayoffs.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
I think he's bad
because he took your tight end.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Oh, he liked my tight
ends, not just saying that the
mess with my game, but in part.
But like, uh, I do think it'sup to self-dates going to be
last place by record Justbecause there's not much chance
there.
We only have like what's fourweeks left, something like that.
Bring it up, and that's prettyhard you can get to.
You just have to win like threeof the next four weeks to even
(30:56):
not be in last place.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
Yeah.
So last question ever you, howare you going to uh, purchase?
So it's a couple of weeks we'regoing to get together, but how
are you going to watch a fancyfootball this next coming
weekend?
Speaker 1 (31:09):
I don't know.
I have no plans.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
What about you?
I will be watching, because Ibought the package, because I'm
a sucker and so I was just bewatching the package, probably
on Sunday.
Don't even it's veterans a weekin this weekend, so thank you
for our veterans, but uh yeah, probably just watching.
And then, two weeks from now ora week after that, we get
together and I'm very excitedabout that and I can't wait for.
So we had two bets.
(31:33):
The two bets were DAK versusJAWK off.
So that's, that was actually atrue drink one.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
The drink one yes.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
And the other one was
Jaylin Warren versus uh Devonte
.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
Adams.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
So that's what we.
We that's probably what you'rewhen you're beer back, but I'll
have a beer balance probably youstill have a one-meals beer.
Hey, you know, my favorite beeris right.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Uh, anything in your
hand.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
Yes.
You got it, you got it.
I said it enough times.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
All right, my friend,
I love you.
It's been.
This is the single-sale Spanishfootball.
Can't probably get on going onfor is 11th hour.
Um and I'm three, four whiskeysdeep now.
Well, that's it Anyway.
Uh, any last words.
Love you long time, Peace.
