On October 31st, 2008, Halloween day, 16 year old high school student Annie McCann left a strange note on her bed, proclaiming she no longer felt suicidal, she loved life, and that she was ready to finally live.
She then headed out in the family’s white Volvo, skipping school, and taking $1,000 of her savings with her. Her intended destination was unknown.
Upon learning that their daughter never made it to school that day, Annie’s parents began frantically searching for her.
Their search would tragically end two days later when a man found Annie’s body lying next to a trash bin behind the projects on Lombard Street in downtown Baltimore, Maryland, over 50 miles away from Annie’s Virginia home.
With no known associates in the area, Annie’s parents were puzzled as to how she could have ended up so far away from home, and further confused by how Annie ended up so far away from her vehicle, that was later found parked at a gas station. When Annie’s cause of death would finally be revealed, the mystery surrounding Annie’s death would deepen even further.
What happened to Annie McCann? How did she end up dead behind a trash can, so far from home? What happened to her car? And what were the true intentions behind leaving home that day?
