(00:22):
the pod, will McMaster, who I'vehad on the podcast earlier last
year.
So come, make some new friends.
There's going to be $6 glassesof wine there.
Some of my favorite people arecoming, so make sure to come.
Hey, guaranteed good time and Iwill also have some merch.
In case you wanted to see somein person, if you haven't
listened to the episode withMissy Grice, go check it out.

(00:45):
She is probably the culminationof almost a year of interviews,
of seeing who's involved withwhat, who's connected to who and
slowly realizing that she is inthe middle of so many things.
Her claim to fame is fromstarting Public Coffee, public
Kitchen, which if you're notfamiliar with then you've
probably been living under arock.
But she is also involved in alot of other fun things around

(01:07):
the Valley, from Spy Hop to thePolice Foundation, to the Junior
League and, most recently, intopics we talk about, of
projects like the BallparkInitiative and the new co-op
marketing going into Night South.
So lots of great things, especially if you're curious
about her, her story and whatshe is excited about.
Lots of great insights.
Sundance is over.

(01:27):
I hope everybody who wanted togot up to enjoy Marquis had a
great lineup.
I've heard great things aboutsome of the films, so hopefully
was able to enjoy that.
If you were part of the crew, that likes that.
In fact, coming up, whether ornot you have a date, make sure
to get a reservation if you can, because clock is ticking and

(01:52):
you don't want to be the one totry to show your loved one how
much you appreciate them and noteven being able to get a
reservation.
So make sure to do that.
If you need somerecommendations, dm me on
Instagram and I can point you inthe right direction if I were

But most importantly, I want toannounce this week's guest.
So a little over a week and ahalf ago, irie Cao, the founder
of Doki Doki Desserts, one of myfavorite desserts and bake

(02:13):
shops in Salt Lake, wrote anopen letter saying that she
needed help, that sales weredown and that she needed some
support from the community inorder to keep going and
thankfully, the entire communitywrapped around her supported
her.
She's sold out almost every daysince then, but she's someone
who I wanted to have on thepodcast and knew that this
timing was going to be great.

(02:34):
Now Irie is born in Vietnam andhas a very strong accent.
However, listening to her talk, she knows her shit.
This is definitely a greatepisode to hear an inspiring
story of someone following theirpassion and finding it in
themselves along the way, butit's also a good look under the
hood of how many restaurants andother food businesses are doing

(02:57):
this year, how they'reperforming and how we can help
support them so that we don'tlose them, because if we don't
support them and they go away, they're likely not coming back.
So definitely have some ideason how we can do that, but that
will be releasing this Saturdaywherever you prefer to listen
and on YouTube.
Definitely a great conversationyou'll want to check out.
Until then, enjoy a great week.

(03:19):
It is shockingly warm.
I think I saw my car clockingin around 65 yesterday, which is
unreal but hopefully we getsome lower temps and snow, not
just for the ski season but forour drought as well.
But I will see you Saturday.
Have a great week and yeah, seeyou there.
