This week the guys caught up with Deon Point, Creative Director at Concepts. Deon has been the“face” of concepts, one of the most renowned shoe boutiques since 2007. Concepts’ unique formula for high-quality curation of products has made them one of the top retail spots for sneakers, fashion, and one of a kind collaboration projects with the likes of New Balance, ASICS and Nike SB just to name a few, and Deon has played a major role in each collab. He took a major risk that paid off, by quitting his job as a contractor, and a serious paycut to follow his passion and love for sneakers. He applied to work weekends at Concepts and ultimately rose to the Creative Director position to which he holds now. Deon, John and Jordan discuss how the industry has evolved over the years, and how there is much more opportunity out there today that just wasn't available 10-15 years ago. Plus, how not getting distracted and keeping an open mind can open a lot of doors.
We also cover the first impressions of the Tom Sachs Nike Mars Yard 2.5. and review the Nike/Concept Collab “Turdunken Dunks.”
