Speaker 1 (00:46):
I know I would have
totally, like, just kept it
moving and, um, now we getcomments on that all the time,
which is hilarious.
But yeah, no, you crushed it.
So good job.

How was your weekend?
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Oh, good Lord.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
We are.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
So we threw my
youngest sister a sprinkle.
She is due with my niece, summer Joan, on September 25th,
and her and her wife have myother wonderful niece, aria, who
I know britney has talked abouther niece harper.
Harper and aria, just like, arethe queens of everything.
Truly, it's great.
So we threw her a sprinkle.
(01:35):
And then on friday my middlesister is getting married and
the whole family is in it.
There are bets out on if myoldest, jack, actually walks
down the aisle.
The jury is still out becausehe is a wild card.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
So he might not.
You guys are absolutelycrushing it.
I was over there actually aboutan hour ago.
We're recording this on Sundaynight, but so yeah, so I was
over there earlier today and youdid a great job and.
I think she had a great time.
Yeah, for sure, for sure.
My weekend was much lesseventful, but I did go to the
(02:11):
movies on Friday night.
Did you ever watch?
I Know what you Did Last Summer?
Yes, like way back in the day.
Okay, well, did you know thatthey came out with a sequel?
I still know what you did lastsummer?
No, um, well, I did go to seeit and you know what it's.
It was very satisfying for whatit was.
But Sarah Michelle Gellar, akaBuffy the vampire slayer, aka
(02:35):
nineties queen royalty, marriedFreddie Prince jr and she makes
a cameo in this movie.
She looked phenomenal, yeah,phenomenal.
Oh, my God, she must be.
I mean, I would think 50 atthis point.
Late forties yeah, she has tobe.
Yeah, actually, I'm just goingto take a quick peek, because
all I could think that entirescene and it's like that's all I
(02:56):
could think.
So you know, hey, sarahMichelle Gellar, if you ever get
winded this, you are absolutelycrushing it.
So, yeah, so that was my bignews.
She's 48.
I was right on the money wait.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
So I still know.
What you did last summer is intheaters.
Yes, that's wild.
Out of all the things you couldsee in theaters, that's what
you picked well, I was withcoffee date man and he likes
scary movies.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
So, yeah, I mean, the
only other options really were
like fantastic for jurassicworld.
I've never seen the originaljurassic park, which I get a lot
of shit for.
You have me.
Yeah, have you seen it?
Speaker 2 (03:35):
I mean, I feel like
I've seen some of that I mean I
have not seen a lot of movies.
My in-laws are like floored, what is?
Speaker 1 (03:40):
like movies I have
not seen what would you say is
like the most classic thatyou've missed.
That they give you a hard time, for I just watched.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Like shawshank
redemption I got shit for saving
private ryan.
I hadn't seen the whole thingfor like so long yeah, I have
seen that one like the sandlot.
I don't usually tell peoplethat you've've never seen
Sandlot.
No, I have, but never have Isat like start to finish, like I
know all the lines, I know allthe characters and like whatever
(04:10):
, but no, All right.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Well, I'm definitely
introducing your kids to that
movie so that you are first towatch it.
That's a classic.
I don't know.
This is what.
I get told yeah, the first one.
You said what was it?
Oh, shawshank, shawshank, that's like bill's favorite,
yeah it's a great movie.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
It just took me
almost 35 years to watch it I'm
in the same boat.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
I've never seen jaws.
I've seen most of jaws, okay.
So, yeah, we're on the samepage.
Yeah, I don't please, um, okay.
So we have a great show for you.
We are going to be talkingabout beyonce bringing out
destiny's child for a surprisereunion during her final cowboy
carter show in vegas.
We have some Taylor talk.
(04:49):
There's been a lot of TaylorTravis, maddie Healy news, so
we're going to dive into thatand then we're going to do a
summer.
I turned pretty recap of seasonthree, episode two, and three,
episode three just dropped thisweek.
It was so good.
Gina doesn't watch the show, sowe're going to be telling this
to someone you know who is notfamiliar with the characters.
(05:09):
My goal here is, by the end ofthis episode, to get you to
start watching it because it isgold, um, so we're going to dive
right in.
Let's get to it.
Beyonce brings out destiny'schild for a surprise reunion
during the final cowboy Cartershow in Las Vegas.
This is the first time thatthey performed together since
2008.
I can't believe it was thislong ago her infamous Coachella
(05:32):
performance.
Do you remember that?
Yes, or maybe it was 2018.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
No, it has to be 18.
You said 2008.
And I was like I don't know ifthat's right.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
I'm looking at my
notes, my notes app now I'm like
2008.
There's no way that it came outwhen we were seniors in high
school.
So, okay, first time they haveperformed together since 2018.
During her infamous Coachellaperformance, which I totally
remember, she was wearing thatyellow sweatshirt and like yep,
oh my God, so good.
Everyone knows that performance, everyone Her dance.
She's unbelievable.
(06:02):
She's like top of my list of uhstars that I haven't seen live,
that I'm dying to because she'slike she puts on a show.
She's a performer, right, um,and I love I gotta say I love
this story.
Anytime someone can like comeback to their roots.
That's why I think I'll alwaysbe here for a 1d reunion.
(06:23):
I love the backstreet Boysgetting together.
It's honestly why I have suchlike a gripe against Justin
Timberlake, because I think hegot too big for his britches and
just like right, like he justwanted to ditch NSYNC.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
I would pay an absurd
amount of money to see NSYNC
Side note there was a show thatwe went to.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
You're going to have
to date me on this.
I can't remember when we went, but do you remember a bunch of?
our girlfriends went to you'regoing to have to date me on this
.
I can't remember when we went, but do you remember a bunch of
our girlfriends went to the 98degrees?
Yes, ryan Cabrera.
Yep, dream Honestly when peopletell me my like, ask me
(07:03):
favorite concert, that one don'tsleep on it.
It was so good, you know, here's the thing.
They know what the people want.
I thought it was so good, youknow, here's the thing.
They know what the people want.
I thought it was 98 degrees,I'm pretty sure.
Matching camo pants, yes, andthey did choreography together
like it was perfect.
It was everything we wanted itwas so good.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
So I'm just saying
like if there could be an
in-sync reunion to that caliberno, no, like the things I would
do to go to that, we would knowthe moves before we even went
what would?
Speaker 1 (07:29):
what would you say is
your favorite in sync song?
Speaker 2 (07:33):
oh, I feel like bye,
bye, bye.
Such a classic, I think I haveto google now.
I want to like I know mine likeright away.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Okay, my.
So I first found found in syncduring the disney channel
concert that they aired.
I watched that concert so manytimes, but they did not tearing
up my heart.
I want you back and it willforever be my number one.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
It's so good these
are just so good, like tearing
up my heart.
It's gonna be me.
Oh, I want you back Thinking ofyou.
Digital get down.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
It makes me ill.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
That was one of my
favorites.
No strings attached Spacecowboy just got paid.
Oh my God.
Wow, that's a throwback.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
I would say for for
Destiny's Child.
Well, I should say okay.
So back to the performance.
This is what they came out to.
So they came out to IndependentWomen, which I kind of forgot
about, and that was a song thatcame out with the movie
Charlie's Angels, remember thatwas?
Speaker 2 (08:41):
on the soundtrack.
Yes.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
That's a banger.
They did that.
They did Lose my Breath.
Can you keep up?
And I remember at the Coachellaperformance that's what they
came out to.
That is like the best song tostrut to.
And those girls I mean, ifthose girls know how to do
anything, it is they can strutto a beat.
Then they did a Beyonce song, energy, and they finished with
Bootylicious.
(09:04):
So I have a song, energy, andthey finished with bootylicious.
So I have to say I don't knowoverall, not not the lineup.
I would pick.
Say my name, say my name, ofcourse, classic, I think I'm
gonna go bills, bills, bills.
Yes, that's the first one.
And then say my name, if youknow, you know, I mean survivors
, always a big one, yeah jumpin, jumpin' Jumpin'.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Oh Bootylicious.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
No, no, no, no, no,
no, no.
Rewind I take Jumpin' Jumpin',that's it, that's it.
Yeah, can't be beat.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
I feel like that
would be your favorite.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
Oh, oh, 100%, 100%.
Yeah, we'd love to see shecomes.
I really think we should.
I really think we should.
I.
It's like if she were to retireand I never.
I mean, I'm not saying thatshe's going to retire, but if
(09:54):
she did and we never saw her, Iwould feel like we missed out.
I'd be bummed Me too.
So, um, cool.
Our next topic, maddie Healy'smom, is making waves.
So background Maddie Healy'smom is Denise Welch.
She's an English actress.
Her roles included um the TVsoap opera coronation street,
which I had actually heard aboutbecause when I was traveling my
(10:14):
UK friends like talked aboutcoronation street.
So I know that this, yeah, Ithink it's like a pretty big
show you know across the pond, and there was a few other shows
that they talked about that shestarred in.
But she went on Watch whatHappens Live with Andy Cohen and
Andy asked her about Taylor'slatest album, ttpd, and
basically he said, like what wasyour reaction to the album?
She says quote not, being hermother-in-law is a role that I'm
(10:36):
glad I lost.
And then she kind of got like aooh reaction from the crowd.
She says and this is on July24th.
She goes not that I haveanything against her at all.
It was tricky, listen, you'renot allowed to say anything.
And then she writes a wholealbum about it.
She explained Maddie has takenit.
Taken it, uh, all in completelygood grace.
And then he she said that herson is looking forward to his
(10:59):
upcoming wedding to his fianceGabrielle.
So here's the thing with this.
I mean, actually you know what, let me, what do you think of
this, this story?
Speaker 2 (11:08):
So I just think it's
like I get she's saying like
Maddie takes it in grace, buthow do you listen to the bridge
of like smallest man who's everlived and like think that it's
just?
Speaker 1 (11:16):
crazy.
I hear what you're saying Like, but then I thought about it
because I was talking about itearlier.
I was at lunch with my cousinand her friend Melina, and we're
all big swifty, so we weretalking about this.
My point here was, like, thinkabout it, if you were on, watch
what happens live and they weretalking about Jack or Brendan,
like I understand from a mompoint of view, you're always
(11:37):
going to defend your son.
And Andy, like point blank, asked her what's your reaction
to TTBD?
Like I don't know, I don't knowif she could have avoided the
question.
I don't know if they getbriefed before and say, like
don't ask me about certainthings, you would think that
it's probably something that'sgoing to get brought up.
If, like, that's her son, yeah, you have to think that.
But I actually don't shade themom that much because I'm like
(11:57):
who isn't going to defend theirson on national TV?
Yeah, of the line, her saying, though you're not allowed to say
anything, and then she writes awhole album about it I just
feel like he didn't have much tosay about it.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
He clearly was the
one who messed up like and of
course she's going to write analbum, which I also, though, do
hate when all like thenon-swifties are like oh, she
only writes about the guys likeoh, I hate that hurt her and
it's like that's not true, right, you just don't know her,
desography exactly.
So it's like oh I hate that.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
I heard her, and it's
like.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
That's not true,
right, you just don't know her
discography Exactly, so it'slike.
But again, then we got smallestman who ever lived, which?
Speaker 1 (12:32):
is like Listen, if
you are going through a breakup,
run, don't walk.
Run to TTPD and listen to thatsong.
Megan's friend, melina, saidtoday which I hadn't thought
about at all.
She goes this just proves to methat she has everyone sign NDAs
, because how else is it that?
Right, I didn't even thinkabout that.
(12:52):
Her point was like nothingcomes out about Taylor with all
of these people that she doesinteract with, like nothing
comes out about her.
They must be signing NDAs.
And I just was like damn dude, you probably.
I mean that's honestly like Iwouldn't be surprised.
I had just never thought aboutit.
Like damn dude, you probably.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
I mean that's
honestly, like I wouldn't be
surprised, I had just neverthought about it.
But it's also she's not evertalking about them like
explicitly, like nobody, ever,once.
Like she's never come out andsaid like you know smallest man
who ever lived, or like all ofthese songs on ttpd are about
him, right?
So it's like she can't reallyget in trouble.
No, true, that's like.
She's never once said you know, like or the songs about joe, or
(13:27):
this album is or kelvin orharry, or yeah yeah, kelvin,
none, none.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
That sucks, that's
like yeah that's like almost
worse if you just get no songslike kelvin got like one you
weren't even worth it.
Yeah, maddie, healy, you werewith less, I feel like, than
kelvin and he got less, but also, I mean, there's been even more
than the maddie Healy of it all.
This was a big week for thecouple.
So Happy Gilmore premiered onNetflix this weekend.
Taylor showed her support witha post on Instagram because
(13:56):
Travis has a role in the movie.
She said it had been cacklingand cheering the whole movie.
She gave it a 13 out of 10rating.
I mean, these two are marketinggeniuses like shout out tree
pain for whatever she's doingthere.
Yeah, I haven't watched it.
I, I want, I kind of want to.
I've heard, I've seen mixedreviews.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
I don't know that
I've seen the whole first one.
I would watch it just becauseTravis is in it.
And then did you know that heposted 13 photos in his like
Instagram, whatever it was?
Speaker 1 (14:30):
He loves the Swifty
shit.
He loves it.
He is a part of the lore, helikes the lore, he gets it.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Yeah, because he's
also like, I feel like just as
famous in his not just as famous, nobody's as famous, I feel
like he's very popular, she puthim on the map but Billy and
Chris are like rolling overright now, oh my god, yeah.
but like he loves like fan shitlike that, because he loves
(14:56):
having fans and people who likelove him and what he's doing and
his like fan base I mean heloves pumping her up too for all
her stuff and I've said thisbefore, I think you agree with
this like in terms of herrelationships when she was
dating.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Like the artistes you
know of the world and none of
them like they couldn't handleher stardom I almost feel like
they took themselves soseriously that like they didn't
want to be wrapped up into hersuperstardom.
That is Taylor Travis loves it.
He loves the fame, he lovesbeing like out and about with
her.
They love being spotted.
People say they're chasingclout.
(15:27):
It's like who cares?
Like if they are, they're doinga damn good job of it and they
both like doing it together.
That's what they like good forthem.
So I'm I'm like, all about it.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
I think that they're
a great match for that reason
alone and I think people justsay that because they're jealous
1000 again.
They were both so famous intheir own realms that you can't
fault them that now, becausethey're together, all of a
sudden they're chasing cloutRight Totally.
They can't go to a hockey game, because they're both famous.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
I know they're just
trying to live, so yeah like
they don't need to be chasingcloud.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
All of us would
follow anything they do.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Legit.
I saw this story.
Did you see this?
That someone named their childKelsey Taylor in?
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Missouri.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
It was a baby girl
recently born.
I pulled it as part of thestory.
Liberty Hospital in Missouriwas given a name inspired by
Taylorlor and travis.
The baby was described onsocial media as being the
youngest swifty and a new memberof the kansas city chiefs red
kingdom name kelsey k-e-l-c-e.
Taylor.
Okay, here's the thing, as twofans who have spent literally
(16:33):
decades defending our swiftinessyes, and like trying to defend
the fact that we love her, butwe're not like crazy, this is
next level crazy yes, because Ihad made a joke, because my son,
jack, was due in december.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Yeah, and I was like,
oh, how funny would that be if
it was, you know, like december13th.
And I was like, oh, we'd haveto have the middle name be
taylor, right, taylor's like ajoke but, like billy, would
never actually let me do that.
Oh my god.
No, even even if jack taylorhubbard because I love taylor
swift like never he would never,oh, oh.
So it's like kelsey spelt thesame.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
I don't know it's,
it's aggressive, it's an
aggressive move.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
So I mean, I mean I
would go into labor at a taylor
swift concert.
If I meant I could meet her, Iwould wait in gillette stadium.
Like to meet taylor swift thatis 1000 fact I would 100 miss
the epidural to meet taylorswift.
Like I don't say that aboutanything else.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Yeah, loved my
epidural yeah, I mean big week
for them.
Last thing this there's notthere.
There's rumors online umnothing super confirmed, but it
is rumored that Taylor has beenspotted filming a new music
video in LA.
We don't know the details, theysay it's top secret.
What do you think this newvideo would be for?
Speaker 2 (17:53):
I feel like it has to
be for TTPD, or I am still
holding hope that we are gettingan Erez tour like documentary,
or I am still holding hope thatwe are getting an errors tour
like documentary Interesting.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
I would love both of
those things.
I actually think that thiscould be like an I can see you
move from the speak now vault.
I could see her maybe doingsomething for a rep vault track,
which I would love, yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
She says in her
letter to her fans, like if you
want the vault track, if we wantthem.
How long did fans ask for the10 minute version of all too
well, if we want your vaulttracks, give them literally.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
You know when rep
vault tracks we already know
they are they're going to be thebest.
They're going to be the best, whatever it is.
We're just happy that she'sputting out new things, because
I saw another thing today thatit's been 400 days since she's
put out new music, which is likethe longest she's ever gone.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Yes, I saw that.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
She has come out with
so much and there's been so
much, I feel like people almostneed a little bit of a break
from her.
She's almost like a little bitoverexposed, but at the same
time like I need it all, give itall, I want everything.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
So but I do hate the
fans that get like too much into
it.
Like she like owes us somethingoh no.
She like owes us new music.
Like no, no, no.
We should be grateful thatshe's giving it to us.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
She doesn't owe it to
her yeah, taylor, we're waiting
for you.
Yeah, if you hear this, if you,we always Gina, this just came
to me.
We always say that, like withour Swifty Karma, we will meet
her one day.
Like we just know it's going tohappen, like we've just been
fans for too long.
We're like we'll meet her oneday, someday.
What if the pod was the way wemet her?
Can you imagine?
(19:30):
Literally no Karma, that wouldjust have to be a part of it.
Karma is a cat.
Karma is a cat, yeah, okay.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
You have to bring the
cats with her and make a little
backpack.
Okay, lou, lou can come.
The other two I mean.
I hate the cats as much as youdo, but like and not hate.
I like Lou.
I agree with Brittany that theway we get seen is with like the
animals.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
Yeah sure, but I'm
not handling a cat, no.
But yeah, end of the day, taylor will give anything that
you give to us.
You know you do, you girlalways.
Um, last but not least, um, weare here for our weekly summer.
I turned pretty recap.
We did episode one last week.
We're gonna recap episode twoand three.
(20:15):
As I said, the beginning of theshow gina actually doesn't watch
this uh series.
So this is a very classicteenage drama television show
featuring two brothers and agirl, belly.
Their moms are best friends andeither your team Jeremiah
brother one, or team Conradbrother two, and I am firmly in
the team Conrad camp.
Okay.
(20:35):
So season three, where we leftoff, jeremiah has cheated on
Belly.
They are together right now.
They've been together fouryears.
We've done a little bit of aflash forward and I just have to
say again, like just the musicin this show is unparalleled.
They have like modern stars.
They have Olivia, rodrigo, ariana Grande, sabrina, taylor,
but then they also have likekind of old school.
(20:57):
They have Fleetwood Mac, radiohead, like they just kill it.
But episode two is really setabout around the storyline of
Belly's best friend, taylor, andher relationship with Belly's
brother, steven.
Okay.
So like Taylor.
Taylor is almost like theSummer Roberts of the show of
like you know Summer.
I think it's Summer Robertsfrom the OC Rachel Bilson.
Oh, yes, of course, like you'rewatching the show, belly's the
(21:21):
main girl.
She's the Misha Barton, right,like that's who you're supposed
to hear about.
Honestly, she's more like theRyan, like it's her story.
Taylor, her best friend, islike Summer and Taylor is just
like such a likable characterthat she has slowly become
almost like.
Her and Steven are like almostthe storyline that you care
about, just as much, if not more, than the main storyline.
They're just, they're so funnyand great together.
(21:41):
So so, anyway, taylor andSteven, like they got together
season two and you find out thatover the past four years in
college they've been kind of onand off, but right now they are
secretly hooking up, even thoughboth of them are in other
relationships.
What happens is that, um, taylorruns into Jeremiah and like,
choose them out for being acheater and cheating on belly.
But Jeremiah calls her out inthat same conversation and says
(22:03):
well, who are you to sayanything?
You're cheating as well.
And you can tell that like itwas a small part of the episode,
but it gets to Taylor becauseshe starts realizing that, like
Jeremiah was right, and shestarts avoiding Steven.
He kind of like just shows upat her sorority house one night
and they go get dinner and theyget in a big fight on the way
there.
It one night and they go getdinner and they get in a big
fight on the way there.
(22:24):
It ends with her being likedrop me off, I need to leave,
get out of the car.
And right when he drops her off, he goes to turn around and
gets in a car crash.
Now, my dude, this is not anystoryline that happens in the
books.
This is totally the show.
Taylor admits to Steven whenhe's like in a coma, that I do
love you.
I just, you know, I'm scared.
And then it also impacts bellyand Jeremiah, because belly is
thinking like how, you knowshe's done with Jeremiah.
(22:46):
But then she realizes, like shesays at the end of the show,
life is too short to not be withthe one that you love and she
ends up, you know, getting backtogether with him.
So I know you don't watch theshow, but Gina, it is, and Gina
is a of anyone.
I know Gina's the biggestfriends fan of anyone.
I know for sure for sure, it isthe Ross and Rachel storyline.
(23:06):
Where did you land in thatargument?
Speaker 2 (23:10):
I thought they were
on a break.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
I agree, I agree.
I agree not to say that if Iwas in the situation I would not
react as Rachel.
Yeah.
So she ends up also kind ofadmitting to that, like I can
see how we were on a break orwhatever.
But you do find out he did ittwice Same girl.
Yeah, oh, okay.
So she takes him back becauseit's the aftermath of this big
(23:33):
crash.
He's, all you know, emotional.
Sure, they get back togetherand then, in the same scene, he
proposes they are juniors incollege.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
What I know.
This is why I can't watch showslike this.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
No, I know, I know
and like, here's the thing we
are.
We're Northern girls.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
We're from the north
this shit doesn't happen.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
When you're like 21,
oh, this doesn't happen at all.
No gee, I went to threeweddings my senior year of
college.
I went to school in southcarolina.
Like people do get engaged incollege.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
It's a fucking banana
win.
It's just that we don't no,that's weird.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
So already I'm like,
okay, she's like, she's a fetus,
like no, there, they should notbe engaged.
You're like 12 and also he justcheated on you and then you're
getting proposed to.
So so that's episode two.
Oh, just to quickly tie a bowon the steven and taylor of it
all.
He wakes up, he's fine, steven's fine, and he basically
wakes up and wants nothing to dowith taylor.
(24:32):
He kind of like they, hebrushes her off.
So she's thinking it's like toolate, even though she's
realized her feelings for himand all that.
So that's happening there.
Episode three this is whyTaylor's my queen.
Taylor is a queen, she's thebest character in the series.
Because belly tells her, herbestie, that she's engaged.
Taylor is not into it.
She's like she's calling outthe obvious, like she's saying,
(24:54):
okay, wait, this is way too soon.
Why are you rushing this like?
This is crazy.
She ends up later apologizingand saying, like you know, I
love you, whatever you want todo, ride or die, and belly asked
to be your maid of honor.
But I was just like this isbanana land.
It's weird the whole episode isthem going back to the beach,
that the first two seasons areset in like the beach because
(25:15):
they're going back for jeremiahand conrad's mom's memorial.
So belly and jeremiah want totell their families at this
thing and you can just tell theway that the show is set up,
like it's foreshadowing, it'snot going to go according to
plan.
First belly gets in the showerand she cuts herself shaving.
What a relatable moment it's.
It's the word I hate, that Iknow and you know the minute it
(25:35):
happens and it's right aroundyour ankle, which of course,
always, always, angles and knees, always.
So anyway.
So that happens and then shefinds out her dad can't make it
and then she finds out thatConrad's going to be there when
he wasn't going to be thereoriginally.
Just setting up for the day isnot going to go as she planned
(25:55):
and sure enough, they do end uptelling the parents and it's a
huge blowout.
That's how the show, episodethree, ends.
Very quick synopsis, but that'sreally what happens is that
they get together and they go totell the parents and it's a
complete disaster.
One thing I will say on thisthe fashion in this show, let me
tell you, gina Marie, layeredtanks, not polos, but layered
(26:16):
shirts.
There are chokers, there are, Imean.
Yes, listeners cannot see herreaction, but I can Well,
because have you seen theHollister throwback collection
on TikTok?
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Absolutely not, and I
need to.
What is it?
It's exactly what we wore.
The jean skirts with the umthings on the pockets, whatever
the design was on the pockets.
The sweaters that were tied uptop and they like flared out.
Oh, the zip up sweatshirts thatsaid like 1996 or whatever,
like it is a full-blown y2k.
(26:49):
You have, you're gonna have togo on tikt and find it.
Now it is legit what we worewhen we were 18 years old.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
But that's why the
show is genius, because it's
bringing up like the teens andthen people our age who are
loving this nostalgia.
I'm like, oh my, that's amazing, and that's what I was saying
with like the music, like theyhave modern music but then they
also have like throwbacks.
They just, they just know whatthey're doing.
Last shout out to Melina, who Iwent to lunch with today.
(27:17):
She had a great take.
Basically, conrad you get thefeeling throughout the show that
Conrad has been like veryabsent over the past four years,
and you know this because he'sstill in love with Belly and
he's he's trying to keepdistance so that he doesn't mess
up her and his brother'srelationship.
But you can tell there's ascene between him and steven
that's like clearly friends whohaven't seen each other for a
very long time catching up, andI think that's the reason to
(27:40):
like show that he's prettydistant.
Anyway, he goes to this dinnerand like sees belly and jeremiah
announce their engagement andhe's just like so stunned that
he doesn't like he just doesn'treally say much.
And then the scene, the episodeends with belly driving off
with her family in one car, jeremiah drive driving off in
another car and then cut toconrad, like walking out of the
(28:03):
restaurant alone and melina goes.
The fact that they didn't useright where you left me as the
song to pan out standing at therestaurant.
She left him at the restaurant.
Actually I was like, oh my God,like that's a perfect take.
It was a miss and so we'retalking about it here.
So, but yeah, so that's what'sgoing on.
(28:25):
I am.
I am loving this season themost of all three.
I feel like I am sat for this, this next episode.
I can't wait to see whathappens.
I'm very conflicted because Iactually do think that this
season shows a lot of Jeremiahand belly fully in love, and I
think the first two seasons itwas just so clear to me as the
(28:45):
viewer that she didn't loveJeremiah, she loved Conrad, and
now I just don't really knowafter the first couple of
episodes.
So, gina, you've got to startwatching.
What do you?
Speaker 2 (28:55):
think now yes.
I feel like I would watch it,but you know me, I'm like.
I know this all seems like veryhallmarky.
Sure Corny.
Corny nonsense said, we justdon't have time.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
There's some
cringiness, I mean, without
doubt.
But yeah, anyway, that's all wehave time for today.
Friends, thanks so much forlistening in to this episode.
