This is the first time thatthey performed together since

As I said, the beginning of theshow gina actually doesn't watch
this uh series.
So this is a very classicteenage drama television show
featuring two brothers and agirl, belly.
Their moms are best friends andeither your team Jeremiah
brother one, or team Conradbrother two, and I am firmly in
the team Conrad camp.
Okay.

So season three, where we leftoff, jeremiah has cheated on
Belly.
They are together right now.
They've been together fouryears.
We've done a little bit of aflash forward and I just have to
say again, like just the musicin this show is unparalleled.
They have like modern stars.
They have Olivia, rodrigo,ariana Grande, sabrina, taylor,
but then they also have likekind of old school.

They have Fleetwood Mac, radiohead, like they just kill it.
But episode two is really setabout around the storyline of
Belly's best friend, taylor, andher relationship with Belly's
brother, steven.
Okay.
So like Taylor.
Taylor is almost like theSummer Roberts of the show of
like you know Summer.
I think it's Summer Robertsfrom the OC Rachel Bilson.
Oh, yes, of course, like you'rewatching the show, belly's the

main girl.
She's the Misha Barton, right,like that's who you're supposed
to hear about.
Honestly, she's more like theRyan, like it's her story.
Taylor, her best friend, islike Summer and Taylor is just
like such a likable characterthat she has slowly become
almost like.
Her and Steven are like almostthe storyline that you care
about, just as much, if not more, than the main storyline.
They're just, they're so funnyand great together.

So so, anyway, taylor andSteven, like they got together
season two and you find out thatover the past four years in
college they've been kind of onand off, but right now they are
secretly hooking up, even thoughboth of them are in other
relationships.
What happens is that, um, taylorruns into Jeremiah and like,
choose them out for being acheater and cheating on belly.
But Jeremiah calls her out inthat same conversation and says

well, who are you to sayanything?
You're cheating as well.
And you can tell that like itwas a small part of the episode,
but it gets to Taylor becauseshe starts realizing that, like
Jeremiah was right, and shestarts avoiding Steven.
He kind of like just shows upat her sorority house one night
and they go get dinner and theyget in a big fight on the way
there.
It one night and they go getdinner and they get in a big
fight on the way there.

It ends with her being likedrop me off, I need to leave,
get out of the car.
And right when he drops her off, he goes to turn around and
gets in a car crash.
Now, my dude, this is not anystoryline that happens in the
books.
This is totally the show.
Taylor admits to Steven whenhe's like in a coma, that I do
love you.
I just, you know, I'm scared.
And then it also impacts bellyand Jeremiah, because belly is
thinking like how, you knowshe's done with Jeremiah.

But then she realizes, like shesays at the end of the show,
life is too short to not be withthe one that you love and she
ends up, you know, getting backtogether with him.
So I know you don't watch theshow, but Gina, it is, and Gina
is a of anyone.
I know Gina's the biggestfriends fan of anyone.
I know for sure for sure, it isthe Ross and Rachel storyline.

Um, last but not least, um, weare here for our weekly summer.
I turned pretty recap.
We did episode one last week.
We're gonna recap episode twoand three.

As I said, the beginning of theshow gina actually doesn't watch
this uh series.
So this is a very classicteenage drama television show
featuring two brothers and agirl, belly.
Their moms are best friends andeither your team Jeremiah
brother one, or team Conradbrother two, and I am firmly in
the team Conrad camp.
Okay.
(20:35):
So season three, where we leftoff, jeremiah has cheated on
Belly.
They are together right now.
They've been together fouryears.
We've done a little bit of aflash forward and I just have to
say again, like just the musicin this show is unparalleled.
They have like modern stars.
They have Olivia, rodrigo,ariana Grande, sabrina, taylor,
but then they also have likekind of old school.
(20:57):
They have Fleetwood Mac, radiohead, like they just kill it.
But episode two is really setabout around the storyline of
Belly's best friend, taylor, andher relationship with Belly's
brother, steven.
Okay.
So like Taylor.
Taylor is almost like theSummer Roberts of the show of
like you know Summer.
I think it's Summer Robertsfrom the OC Rachel Bilson.
Oh, yes, of course, like you'rewatching the show, belly's the

main girl.
She's the Misha Barton, right,like that's who you're supposed
to hear about.
Honestly, she's more like theRyan, like it's her story.
Taylor, her best friend, islike Summer and Taylor is just
like such a likable characterthat she has slowly become
almost like.
Her and Steven are like almostthe storyline that you care
about, just as much, if not more, than the main storyline.
They're just, they're so funnyand great together.
(21:41):
So so, anyway, taylor andSteven, like they got together
season two and you find out thatover the past four years in
college they've been kind of onand off, but right now they are
secretly hooking up, even thoughboth of them are in other
relationships.
What happens is that, um, taylorruns into Jeremiah and like,
choose them out for being acheater and cheating on belly.
But Jeremiah calls her out inthat same conversation and says
(22:03):
well, who are you to sayanything?
You're cheating as well.
And you can tell that like itwas a small part of the episode,
but it gets to Taylor becauseshe starts realizing that, like
Jeremiah was right, and shestarts avoiding Steven.
He kind of like just shows upat her sorority house one night
and they go get dinner and theyget in a big fight on the way
there.
It one night and they go getdinner and they get in a big
fight on the way there.
(22:24):
It ends with her being likedrop me off, I need to leave,
get out of the car.
And right when he drops her off, he goes to turn around and
gets in a car crash.
Now, my dude, this is not anystoryline that happens in the
books.
This is totally the show.
Taylor admits to Steven whenhe's like in a coma, that I do
love you.
I just, you know, I'm scared.
And then it also impacts bellyand Jeremiah, because belly is
thinking like how, you knowshe's done with Jeremiah.
(22:46):
But then she realizes, like shesays at the end of the show,
life is too short to not be withthe one that you love and she
ends up, you know, getting backtogether with him.
So I know you don't watch theshow, but Gina, it is, and Gina
is a of anyone.
I know Gina's the biggestfriends fan of anyone.
I know for sure for sure, it isthe Ross and Rachel storyline.
(23:06):
Where did you land in thatargument?
Speaker 2 (23:10):
I thought they were on a break.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
I agree, I agree.
I agree not to say that if Iwas in the situation I would not
react as Rachel.
Yeah.
So she ends up also kind ofadmitting to that, like I can
see how we were on a break orwhatever.
But you do find out he did ittwice Same girl.
Yeah, oh, okay.
So she takes him back becauseit's the aftermath of this big
(23:33):
crash.
He's, all you know, emotional.
Sure, they get back togetherand then, in the same scene, he
proposes they are juniors incollege.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
What I know.
This is why I can't watch showslike this.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
No, I know, I know and like, here's the thing we
are.
We're Northern girls.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
We're from the north this shit doesn't happen.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
When you're like 21, oh, this doesn't happen at all.
No gee, I went to threeweddings my senior year of
college.
I went to school in southcarolina.
Like people do get engaged incollege.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
It's a fucking banana win.
It's just that we don't no,that's weird.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
So already I'm like, okay, she's like, she's a fetus,
like no, there, they should notbe engaged.
You're like 12 and also he justcheated on you and then you're
getting proposed to.
So so that's episode two.
Oh, just to quickly tie a bowon the steven and taylor of it
all.
He wakes up, he's fine,steven's fine, and he basically
wakes up and wants nothing to dowith taylor.
(24:32):
He kind of like they, hebrushes her off.
So she's thinking it's like toolate, even though she's
realized her feelings for himand all that.
So that's happening there.
Episode three this is whyTaylor's my queen.
Taylor is a queen, she's thebest character in the series.
Because belly tells her, herbestie, that she's engaged.
Taylor is not into it.
She's like she's calling outthe obvious, like she's saying,
(24:54):
okay, wait, this is way too soon.
Why are you rushing this like?
This is crazy.
She ends up later apologizingand saying, like you know, I
love you, whatever you want todo, ride or die, and belly asked
to be your maid of honor.
But I was just like this isbanana land.
It's weird the whole episode isthem going back to the beach,
that the first two seasons areset in like the beach because
(25:15):
they're going back for jeremiahand conrad's mom's memorial.
So belly and jeremiah want totell their families at this
thing and you can just tell theway that the show is set up,
like it's foreshadowing, it'snot going to go according to
plan.
First belly gets in the showerand she cuts herself shaving.
What a relatable moment it's.
It's the word I hate, that Iknow and you know the minute it
(25:35):
happens and it's right aroundyour ankle, which of course,
always, always, angles and knees, always.
So anyway.
So that happens and then shefinds out her dad can't make it
and then she finds out thatConrad's going to be there when
he wasn't going to be thereoriginally.
Just setting up for the day isnot going to go as she planned
(25:55):
and sure enough, they do end uptelling the parents and it's a
huge blowout.
That's how the show, episodethree, ends.
Very quick synopsis, but that'sreally what happens is that
they get together and they go totell the parents and it's a
complete disaster.
One thing I will say on thisthe fashion in this show, let me
tell you, gina Marie, layeredtanks, not polos, but layered
(26:16):
shirts.
There are chokers, there are, Imean.
Yes, listeners cannot see herreaction, but I can Well,
because have you seen theHollister throwback collection
on TikTok?
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Absolutely not, and I need to.
What is it?
It's exactly what we wore.
The jean skirts with the umthings on the pockets, whatever
the design was on the pockets.
The sweaters that were tied uptop and they like flared out.
Oh, the zip up sweatshirts thatsaid like 1996 or whatever,
like it is a full-blown y2k.

You have, you're gonna have togo on tikt and find it.
Now it is legit what we worewhen we were 18 years old.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
But that's why the show is genius, because it's
bringing up like the teens andthen people our age who are
loving this nostalgia.
I'm like, oh my, that's amazing, and that's what I was saying
with like the music, like theyhave modern music but then they
also have like throwbacks.
They just, they just know whatthey're doing.
Last shout out to Melina, who Iwent to lunch with today.

She had a great take.
Basically, conrad you get thefeeling throughout the show that
Conrad has been like veryabsent over the past four years,
and you know this because he'sstill in love with Belly and
he's he's trying to keepdistance so that he doesn't mess
up her and his brother'srelationship.
But you can tell there's ascene between him and steven
that's like clearly friends whohaven't seen each other for a
very long time catching up, andI think that's the reason to
(27:40):
like show that he's prettydistant.
Anyway, he goes to this dinnerand like sees belly and jeremiah
announce their engagement andhe's just like so stunned that
he doesn't like he just doesn'treally say much.
And then the scene, the episodeends with belly driving off
with her family in one car,jeremiah drive driving off in
another car and then cut toconrad, like walking out of the

restaurant alone and melina goes.
The fact that they didn't useright where you left me as the
song to pan out standing at therestaurant.
She left him at the restaurant.
Actually I was like, oh my God,like that's a perfect take.
It was a miss and so we'retalking about it here.
So, but yeah, so that's what'sgoing on.
(28:25):
I am.
I am loving this season themost of all three.
I feel like I am sat for this,this next episode.
I can't wait to see whathappens.
I'm very conflicted because Iactually do think that this
season shows a lot of Jeremiahand belly fully in love, and I
think the first two seasons itwas just so clear to me as the
(28:45):
viewer that she didn't loveJeremiah, she loved Conrad, and
now I just don't really knowafter the first couple of
episodes.
So, gina, you've got to startwatching.
