Speaker 2 (00:08):
And Brittany, get
ready for the best part of your
day.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Hey Snitches, hey
Snitches.
Another week We've made it toAugust.
Hard to believe.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
I know Summer's
basically over now.
It's about to slip away like abottle of wine before we even
know it.
How was your weekend, britt?
It was good, pretty low keyafter going to San Diego.
We had a couple birthdayparties yesterday and Kristen
and I had a little snitchesbusiness meeting on Saturday.
So more fun stuff coming foryou guys.
(00:38):
Stay tuned.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
I was over.
Yeah, how about you?
It was good.
It was good.
Sorry I was.
I was just going to say that Iwas over at Gina's house and
Bill was like it was roasting usfor having a business meeting.
He's like what business are youdoing?
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
I was like no, we
like did stuff, like yeah.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Losers Chris gave
Bill that ammo.
Oh meeting, because like that'swhat I call it.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
so that's what chris
calls it, and he was like oh
yeah, I forgot to other people.
That's like funny or whatever.
Yeah, yeah, they have businessmeeting, but yeah, of course,
bill loved that.
Yeah, the haters are furious, furious, um, so should we get
right into it, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Oh actually, wait,
wait, wait, wait, wait before we
get into it.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
I wanted to ask about
coffee date, man oh yeah, just
an update yeah, I know it'swanted to ask about coffee date
man.
Oh yeah, an update.
Yeah, I know it's been a while.
Um, coffee date man is still.
It's still going well.
So he's been in Michigan forthe past week, so things are
going good.
I mean, it's still very likecasual.
I feel like that's been one ofthe best things about him and I
(01:42):
for this whole summer is thathe's still kind of figuring out
his next move.
So it's just been very like lowcommitment and honestly like
dating someone without thepressure of like the next step,
like are we going to beexclusive, are we?
It's been really really great.
So so I don't know, I thinkwe'll.
We're just going to wait to seewhat he comes back and like
(02:04):
what his plan is, but yeah, sofar, so good.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Sounds like kind of a
.
Sounds like kind of like apivotal moment.
In a way that you're I feellike you're kind of
transitioning out of that likefun, easy, like you know, not
introducing him to anyone face.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Oh, I know, Well,
you've asked me.
My sister asked me this weekend.
She was like so cause mybirthday's next week and we're
planning to go to the drivingrange.
And yeah, I've started to get acouple of questions like, oh,
are you going to invite coffeedate?
Like is he going to come?
Uh, I, I would be a lot.
It's I, that's the thing.
Like that's not the best placeto meet him.
(02:39):
I don't know, We'll see.
I think I have to see him.
I definitely don't want thefirst time that I see him like
when he gets back to be there.
Yeah no, when does he get back?
Well, he's driving back, so atsome point this week Sounds
terrible.
Why would he drive?
I don't know.
He said he drove out there.
It takes him like two days andhe's driving back.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Wolf.
Yeah, I guess that's what youdo when you live in Michigan.
They probably drive a lotalready.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
It is a big like
automobile industry place.
True.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Detroit.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Yeah, yeah, true, so
but yeah, that's what's going on
.
We're still seeing each other, still hanging out.
He's a very, very nice, sweet,yeah, like he's a really really
(03:33):
nice guy.
So I've definitely been likinghanging out with him.
But I think this week is willbe kind of like a turning point.
One way or the other eitherkind of call it quits or, you
know, decide if we're going totry to be a little bit more
serious.
So I will definitely be keepingyou all posted, you know, as
that happens.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yay, I'm rooting for
him, I'm rooting for you.
Coffee Date man.
If you found this podcast yet, which I feel like you haven't,
but maybe on that long drive.
I'm rooting for you.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
That's another thing
I like about him is that like
he's pretty I don't know.
He's pretty straightforward,like I don't really I'm very
like honest with him.
Um, not that I'm not honestwith other people, but I don't
know.
You know, like you kind ofyou're trying to like present
your best self.
I feel like I'm pretty directwith him and I've asked him more
than once.
I'm like have you really foundit for real?
Speaker 2 (04:14):
He's like no, I
haven't.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
I have no idea Like
well, so then I was thinking too
, like he did tell me that hetold his sister about me and she
has seen my Facebook page.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
he said so yeah,
she's about to find this shit.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Well, that's what I
was like, okay.
Well, if the women are involved, then there's a high likelihood
that someone in or around hisfamily has found this just a
matter of time.
It's just, I mean, once you getthe girls investigating, we
basically are all fbi agents.
So, exactly, yeah, that mightbe changing.
(04:55):
Um, so if you are listening tothis, you're awesome and sorry,
sorry that I'm talking publiclyabout you.
I hope he hears it.
We'll see, but anywho, that'sthe scoop on that, moving on
starting out with our firststory and, just like that,
(05:17):
ending after three seasons.
On Friday, august 1st, michaelPatrick King, who's the creator
of the show, also creator of Ithink he was the creator of Sex
and the City, which is theoriginal show that, just like
that, is a sequel he said SJP,sarah Jessica Parker and I held
(05:38):
off announcing the news untilnow because we didn't want the
world final to overshadow thefun of watching the word final
to overshadow the fun ofwatching the season.
So basically, he didn't tellfans that this was going to be
the final season, even thoughthey both knew earlier in the
series which, um, it's annoyingyeah, it.
Basically.
It seems like they're trying tomake it seem like it wasn't
(05:59):
canceled, that they are justcoming to this creative
resolution that it's the naturaltime to end the show.
Have you watched this new show?
Speaker 2 (06:08):
and just like yeah, I
haven't watched the latest
season, but I watched the lasttwo what are your thoughts on
the, on the show in general?
I mean, I feel like I had kindof a skewed perception because
like when it first came out, everyone was like it's terrible,
it sucks, it sucks, it'sterrible so I was like I'm just
gonna watch it just to see, andso like I kind of felt like I
was like pleasantly surprisedbecause I had like low
expectations and I like how thecharacters are like so similar
(06:30):
old characters.
I'm also not a big girl, so Ifeel like like Gina is obsessed
with Big and she like couldn'twatch it because spoiler alert
Big dies in the first one or twoepisodes.
So that didn't really bother me.
That was part of it.
I hated that steve left I knowI hate miranda's whole like
journey.
I mean I I'm I'm happy for her,whatever, but I just love steve.
(06:52):
Yeah, I'd say it's okay.
It's like I don't rush to watchit if it's, if they have, if I
need to.
I think it's like a half hourepisodes which are easy.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
So I watched season
one.
I agree with you, I didn't likehate I, but I do love Steve and
I was so and I feel like in themovie, sex in the city.
Like Miranda and Steve wentthrough that infidelity and,
like you know, came backstronger than ever.
I just hate that they alwaysbreak this couple up Cause he's
one of my oh yeah, why I don'tknow Like I feel like Steve is
(07:22):
like everyone's favorite malecharacter.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Legit, like
everyone's rooting for Steve.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
I can understand Well
.
So part of the criticism forthe show is that they're trying
to make it quote, unquote woke.
This is like what I read, butlike without really like, which
I can appreciate because timesare different, right, Like we're
not in the nineties, like weare in a new day and age, and so
maybe they do want to representthat.
I get that, but they were sayingthat it was like kind of done
(07:50):
without really good characterdevelopment or you know, like it
was just kind of done just todo it without making the
storyline actually good or makea ton of sense.
Yeah, yeah, but Miranda's loverin the first season, Che just
wasn't that likable of acharacter, yeah totally.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Yeah, that's a good
point.
I was going to say, though, with the woke thing.
The only thing I'll say aboutthat is I feel like I can't
appreciate.
I feel like a big part of Sexand the City is being really
modern and current andculturally relevant and when it
first came out it was all aboutwomen breaking boundaries and
talking about relevant.
And, like you know, when itfirst came out it was all about
like women breaking boundariesand like talking about sex and
like showing sex on tv.
(08:30):
So like I get kind of like whythey felt like they had to lean
into like the wokeness a littlebit from that standpoint.
But yeah, like to your point, Ifeel like they just like didn't
do a good job, like why breakup miranda and steve?
Like they should have just hadche be like their own character
or I don't know.
I also will say I like theother two characters.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
I forget their names,
I don't even see, I don't even
because I watched the firstseason, but I watched a couple
of years ago.
I kind of remember Charlotte'snew friend.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
The new ones are
Sarita oh, I don't know, seema
Patel is her name in the showand then Lisa Todd Wexley.
Okay, yeah, lisa todd wexley ismarried to george washington
from hamilton oh, no way yeah, the guy is george.
George washington from hamilton, so I love that I love that.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Yeah, heck.
Yeah, I love that.
Did you see that aiden's backfor this season?
Speaker 2 (09:18):
yeah, I mean I hope,
as I watched last season and he
was like very much a part of it.
Oh, he was, he was in seasontwo.
Yeah, yeah, they like gottogether in season two.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
So yeah, I would
assume he's in season three what
are your favorite malecharacters, like on sex in the
city, like your top three?
Speaker 2 (09:37):
um, I mean definitely
steve.
Steve, I would say, what's hisname?
Who is?
Oh my god, what's her name?
Kim cattrall oh, samanthasamantha.
What's her boyfriend?
Speaker 1 (09:48):
oh um smith yeah,
jared smith smith, jared,
whatever it is.
Yes, oh, I kind of forgot abouthim.
Yeah, aiden, yeah, aiden's agreat one.
Um, I like I always am intomiranda guys.
I loved Steve.
I loved Dr Robert.
Do you remember him?
Blair Underwood, he was likeMiranda's neighbor.
(10:12):
He gave her the cookie cake, acoach, or?
Speaker 2 (10:14):
something.
He was a basketball coach orsomething.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
He was the physical
trainer, like, yeah, the
personal trainer or a trainerfor the Knicks, like a team.
Yeah, okay, yeah, I rememberthat.
Yeah, he's trainer for theKnicks, like a team.
Yeah, okay, yeah, I rememberthat yeah, he was good.
Oh my God, I loved him.
I loved his whole storyline, butI loved season six.
I would say those two.
I also liked.
I liked Aiden.
I definitely agree with you.
I'm more of an Aiden girl thana big girl.
I was never that big on the bigtrain, but I'm trying to think
(10:38):
of who else that she dated.
I didn't hate Berger until theybroke up.
Do you remember Jack Berger?
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
Yeah, he was okay.
I think the Post-it Notebreakup episode is one of the
best episodes of that wholeseries.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
True, that is like a
very memorable moment in the
show.
It's so funny.
Yeah, I didn't hate.
Like Alexander Prostrovsky, isthat how you say?
His last name too?
The guy she goes to Paris with.
I mean I feel like he.
I don't like love him, but Ididn't like hate him.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
No, he was not.
I didn't like him, I don't knowwhy.
Yeah, he was not not for me.
Oh, I know I would say morethan Aiden Harry, I love Harry.
Oh yeah, how about Harry?
Yeah, I like Harry.
So I would say those are my topthree Steve, dr Robert and then
Harry.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
And mine were Steve
Smith, jared or Jared Smith,
can't remember and Aiden.
Yeah, so did Big not want to beon the show.
Is that why they killed him off, you think?
Speaker 1 (11:44):
I think that they did
it because they needed a reason
to have the show.
Is that why they killed him off?
You think I think that they didit because, like they needed a
reason to have the show again, like they need to show carrie,
kind of starting over again, youknow, with like a new journey,
a new um.
That's too bad, yeah, but healso chris, not the actor.
It was right around the sametime and I I haven't looked this
up so I would have to likecheck myself on this but it came
(12:05):
out that he had some, you know, sexual misconduct or sexual
harassment, something, some typeof allegation against him.
So I don't know.
And it was like weird.
It was like right around thetiming that I remember, right
around the timing that he waskilled off from the show.
So I don't know if they knewsomething and were like getting
ahead of it and decided to killhim off.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
But I thought that
was a little suspicious.
Yeah, I mean, I didn't carebecause, like I said, I don't
care about big, but it is kindof weird.
Yeah, like you just had thiswhole, and like the whole movie
was like all about, like is shewith big, is she not?
And they have this big ending.
They have this big ending onthe show too, and then they had
a big ending on the movie andthen it's like what same with
like miranda and steve, I don'tknow yeah, it's just hard
because that show was such amoment in time and I'm I just
(12:53):
feel like, in general, anytimeyou try to do a reboot, like it
is, it's good.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
I get why they did it
, but it's a different show.
Like we don't you watch sex inthe city, you're not necessarily
watching it to watch women intheir 50s and 60s like go
through their new, like brain.
It's just a different show.
Like we don't you watch sex inthe city.
You're not necessarily watchingit to watch women in their
fifties and sixties like gothrough their new, like it's
just a different thing.
And then like true, yeah, samantha was such a character
that brought that specific likeedginess and sexiness to the
show and now that they don'thave that, it just like I don't
(13:21):
have any interest to.
Really I watched the first.
It was fine.
I didn't hate it as much aslike people did.
I agree with you, but I'm notrunning to my tv to watch these
last two seasons like I don'treally care yeah, yeah, same
here.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
I love the sex in the
city movie, though that's like
one of my favorite moviestotally no.
The show and the original showlike is such a comfort show I
could watch that show all thetime I don't know, though I will
say like I could, but at thesame time sometimes, like I feel
like sex in the city did notage well, like sometimes I
especially the beginning seasons, like if you try to start it
(13:56):
from season one when shenarrates the camera, like yeah,
that's terrible, and then Idon't know.
I just feel like in thebeginning especially, it's so
much about like men and likeguys, and like I get that that's
what they were like trying todo, cause it was a different
time then when it came out.
But now I'm just like, can youguys talk about something else
(14:17):
besides men?
Like in reality, when fourwomen are hanging out, they do
not talk about men the entiretime.
Oh, one thousand percent.
And that's what they do on theshow so like sometimes it like
I'm like okay, like come on,women, that's totally fair.
So yeah, that's why sometimesI'm like I feel like it didn't
age well, but the later seasonsare are good and I can
appreciate it for what it is.
I love their friendship.
(14:37):
That's the best part of theshow for me totally.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Yeah, no, I hundred.
I I agree with everythingyou're saying, one thousand
percent I also.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
I will say I feel
like I wish that show was it was
like more about the four ofthem rather than like Carrie is
the main one.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Oh yeah, that's the
other thing.
I mean, I think the culturallike conversation around Carrie
Bradshaw has changed.
I feel like when the show cameout, people wanted to like,
quote, unquote, like be theCarrie you know, like when you
would be like, oh, which one areyou?
I feel like Carrie was the.
Everyone loved Carrie.
Now I think when people talkabout Carrie Bradshaw, they're
(15:11):
just like pointing out her flaws, like what a selfish, like
friend she is and like all theseterrible things.
So I don't know.
I think that's also likereflective of how people look at
the show just in general.
But yeah, it hasn't aged well, yeah, no, I mean, I get that and
(15:31):
I think that's part of why theylike wanted to go into like the
other.
They like went so far on theother direction of like trying
to make it relevant andrepresentative and all the
things.
But yeah, I don't think dropthe ball and just like it's just
they can, they could do thatthe best they could, but like it
doesn't change the fact thatthe show is.
It's a different show.
Like we're not watching womenin their 30s like having sex in
new york city.
It's just I don't know butanyway, moving on, rip, I'm
pretty interested in this.
(15:51):
So this is actually somepodcast news.
Alex earl seemingly confirmsfeud with alex cooper.
Have you heard about this?
Yeah, I actually did see this.
So, basically, rumors of afallout between the two
influencers first began whenalex earl ex the Hot Mess
podcast, which was a podcastthat was backed by Alex Cooper's
(16:11):
Unwell Network.
Alex Earl was like one of thefirst, if not the first, people
signed to Alex Cooper's UnwellNetwork when she first launched
it.
She first signed with them in2023.
Launched it, she first signedwith them in 2023.
And the reason that it's gettingnews now is because Alex Earl
put a TikTok up and she wastalking about which I love this
because you know astrology queen.
(16:33):
She was sitting in a car in thevideo and she says my co-star
app, which is like an astrologyapp, told me that I can start
shit.
Today.
She said I mean, is this thetime that I've been waiting for
to go?
I have so much information wecould go.
And then she said I wake upevery day and I'm like, what
should I do, co-star?
And today it's like revenge, let's go get him.
And then a fan commented on thatvideo and said yes, tell us
(16:54):
what happened with Alex Cooper.
And she responded to that fancomment directly and said how
much time do you have?
So I mean it definitely seemslike something is happening
there.
It should be noted that AlexCooper was asked about this back
in March and she responded tothe rumors and she said Alex
(17:14):
Earl not being able to podcasthas nothing to do with the
business dealings and that oncehe was brought in maybe he saw
that there was something wrongwith either like their contract
or their agreement and he waslike a catalyst for this split.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
But that has not been
confirmed, like I haven't seen
anyone confirm that online, butthat's a rumor that doesn't
sound good for Alex Earl.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
I feel like when the
parents get involved, it doesn't
end well.
It's a bummer, because I feellike these two I love Call Her
Daddy I mean we talked about it.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Yeah, I like Alex
Cooper.
I don't really know Alex Earl.
I don't understand her, I don'tunderstand her world.
I guess I don't understand whypeople like her.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
No, that's totally
fair.
She you know what it is, causeI I do follow her on Tik TOK.
Um, she's just very like she's.
She seems very real, Like whenshe was she was posting as just
a senior in college, atuniversity of Miami, like that's
.
I mean, she started doing TikTOK as just you know, for fun,
(18:26):
like, and she would just post somuch and she, but she was just
very like, genuine and real, like the whole time.
She's an interesting watch, likeshe's I don't know, I don't
know how to describe it Like andshe is interesting to watch.
But I think it's because, like, her brand is that she is just
very like a regular, regulargirl but living this like very
unusual life now where she'slike jet setting everywhere.
(18:48):
But I like her, I think that Imean, and also her background is
kind of interesting.
So her father I don't know whathe does, but when she was in, I
think, middle school orelementary school, he had an
affair with I think it was likethe New York City mayor.
It was some big politician andso her family was under like a
(19:13):
ton of scrutiny when she wasyoung and she was like we went
through it because it waseverywhere.
So I don't know if that's likepart of why she has like some
thick skin from early on, butbut I like her, why she has like
some thick skin from early on,but but I like her.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Does she have plastic
surgery?
Like?
She looks to me, like she'sjust like, has a lot of like
inject injectables and like it'svery fake, made up Probably,
but like she looks way olderthan she is.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
Yeah, I think she's
24.
Yeah, she, I feel, yeah she, Ifeel like she's what she looks
like.
She's like 30.
Yeah, well, but so, but like tothat point, like she just
posted the other day, like hergoing to get her hair extensions
in and out, and like she's justvery real about it.
She's like I've always createdthis hair and she's like I'm so
worried my hair is gonna be likedead and you like see her get
(19:53):
it changed and she's just, yeah, like she's not hiding any of it
.
I don't know if she's done, Idon't know what she's done for,
like botox or fillers or plasticsurgery, but like I wouldn't be
surprised if she did do it,knowing her brand, that she
would just tell people about itthat makes sense.
I can appreciate that yeah, butsomething must have happened
like this is you know, this isvery ominous.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
It is.
I mean, it seems like Alex Earlis trying to like drum up
publicity about it a little bitmore, like it could be just her
trying to like get her name outthere, because I mean, that's
kind of how she has to stayrelevant.
Yeah, but yeah, because I feellike Alex yeah, alex responded
and was like oh no, that wasn'tit at all.
Like I don't know why she'slike.
(20:43):
I feel like her answer was verynormal and like fine, and she
hasn't nodded to the drama.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
I don't know.
It seems like alex earl thinksthis is a much bigger deal than
alex cooper.
No, that's totally fair.
Well, so the only thing Ishould have put this in, the
only thing that alex cooper hassaid that has like alluded to it
, is she was, I think it waslike a new york post interview
or something, but she someonedid say like asked her about it
and she said it was like alittle bit of a hot mess behind
the scenes.
(21:06):
Cooper said that she was like ohyeah, that because the podcast
was named hot mess, yeah, and soshe was like oh yeah, I mean it
was just kind of like a hotmess behind the scenes.
So I don't know, like maybe, but I I know you mean like alex
earl's resurfacing this.
This has been dead for monthsand she's like she knows what
she's doing, she's activelybringing this back into the
(21:26):
conversation.
Yeah, I don't know, maybethat's like a marketing ploy to
like for like it honestlywouldn't be a bad idea to start
talking about it a little bitand then, you know, drop the
news that she's relaunching thepodcast and then do like a tell
all for like the first episodeyeah Right Publicity.
Yeah, totally so.
(21:47):
We'll see what happens, butthat's the latest with them, our
last story.
This is a quick one and thenwe're going to get into our
summer.
I turned pretty episode forrecap, but Mandy Moore was in a
hit and run um with her family.
Basically, she posted on herInstagram story on August 1st
that to the woman who rear endedmy family and drove off when we
(22:09):
pulled over hope your karmafinds you.
Thankfully, everyone was okay, but what kind of human does that
Um?
Mandy Moore shares threechildren with her husband.
She has a son, gus, who's four, oscar, aka Ozzy, who's two, and
then Lou, who's 10 months.
Also, the family has beenthrough kind of a tough year.
Their house was one of the onesthat was burned down in January
(22:32):
.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Yeah, I remember that
.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah, during the LA
wildfires.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
So yeah, damn Well,
mandy moore, for putting that
mean old lady on blast I know Iwas like you go girl.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
I feel like she's not
afraid to like say stuff like
that.
She said something about afterthe fires, amazon like delivered
a package to her family'saddress but the you know the
house has had burned down andshe posted about that too and
was like Amazon do better.
So it's I feel like she's likenot afraid to like say what she
thinks online.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Yeah, I mean side
note.
I don't understand why that'sAmazon's fault, but I guess
neither here nor there Changeyour address.
Go on the app and change youraddress, maybe.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Well, I, I guess,
like she was was like it's
insensitive to deliver a packageto a house that's burned down,
like read the like, read theneighborhood, but it's like
what's?
They have a package to deliver, like yeah I think I have heard
the opposite like almost likekudos to amazon because you're
delivering even yeah, I don'tknow.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
But the hit and run
is definitely fair.
I wonder if that person like Imean that person must know it
was that.
I wonder if they knew that theylike hit Mandy Moore, I know.
Or if they were like nowthey're figuring out and they're
like, oh my God, that was me.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
No, for real.
Oh my God, that would suck, that would suck.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
I oh my God, that
would suck.
That would suck.
I could never do that.
Yeah, I don't think I couldeither.
No, I couldn't.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
I really don't think
I could.
I would feel so bad.
I mean, I believe in karmaenough I believe in karma.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Enough that, like
karma, karma's going to get that
person, karma's going to trackyou down.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Yeah, Karma's like a
bounty hunter.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
Step by step from
town to town.
So you go, mandy, yeah, keepdoing it.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Keep, uh, keep
posting about those hit and run
people, mandy, yeah, take themdown, don't let them get away
with it.
But okay, now, uh, we are goinginto our final, final segment
of the episode.
It is the time, it is time forour summer.
I turn pretty recap.
We're recapping episode four, honestly not my favorite episode
yeah, and I'm honestly likewait.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
So you, you read the
book right a while ago I did
read the book, yeah yeah, andI'm like, I feel like there are
still like eight episodes leftin this season I know.
No, there is, and I'm yeah, andI'm like they're like a good
way.
I don't.
I also I don't fully rememberthe book, first of all, but I'm
like how are they gonna makeeight more episodes out of this?
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Yeah, this is kind of
the book.
What we're in right now, Idon't know.
I mean, I feel like maybe theyhave the Steven and Taylor
storyline that wasn't in thebook, so that gives them a whole
thing.
I also kind of am curious ifLaurel and her ex-husband if
there's anything happening thereoh yeah, I feel like they're
(25:19):
going to get together.
To me it feels like they'reteeing up for that.
Yeah, everyone wants that.
Yeah, so maybe, but I don'tremember that happening in the
book.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
I don't remember that
in the book either, but I do
like her mom being against thewedding was like a huge
storyline in the book.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Yeah Well.
So basically in episode four, like the main things that happen
is like at the end of episodethree.
Belly has told her family thatthey're getting married and it's
a huge blow up.
Her mom demands that she goeshome to Philly with her and
Jeremiah stays in Boston and hestarts interning at his dad's
firm.
So episode four opens withBelly living at home.
(25:58):
She's like working doubles, trying to save everything she
can for the wedding and it'sBelly's 21st birthday.
Laurel is like, not supportiveof the wedding whatsoever.
Belly wants to go wedding dressshopping with her on the day of
her birthday and Laurel says no, like she, she won't come, she
won't support the marriage.
So then, in terms of like theBelly Jeremiah, jeremiah comes
(26:18):
to Philly to surprise belly onher birthday and is trying to
convince Laurel to change hermind, but it erupts in like this
massive fight and Laurel endsup saying, like she, she's not
even going to come to thewedding, and then belly and Jer
leave together and they go tocousins.
I mean, I understand Laurelhere.
I do too.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
I mean even as the
viewer, like maybe just because
I'm team Conrad, so we'd have toask someone who's team Jeremiah
.
But like I feel like I'm kindof secretly like rooting for the
mom to win, oh, yeah, no, I getthat.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Because I'm like this
wedding is stupid, yeah.
But at the same time I can seelike that her dad's, like
belly's dad, is like I'm gonnago to the wedding regardless,
like part of me is like laurellaurel, like you know, put up
the good fight, you're doing theright thing.
And like stick in your moralsand stand your ground.
But at the same time I'm likeit's not like she's marrying
(27:14):
some guy who's, like you know,on drugs or gonna hurt her, or
like you know they don't.
It's not like they don't likethe guy.
So I'm like maybe laurel'sbeing a little extreme yeah,
like that's a good point, it'snot.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
it's almost like your
second son is who she's
marrying.
So it's not like you don't likethe guy, but I do, I.
I like their point of like, okay, maybe be engaged, sure,
but why are you rushing to getmarried?
Yeah, in three, you know, yeahRight, there's like no need,
there's no need.
Oh, and then she wants toforego her Paris plans because
she doesn't want to be away whenthey're married, which is just
(27:47):
like you know, I hate that Dumb, yeah, so dumb.
Like Lauren Conrad from theHills all over again, yeah, but
then they go to Cousin's yeah,so.
But then they go to cousin'sbeach.
So they do go there and, lo andbehold, conrad is staying at
the beach.
So Jeremiah asked him to be hisbest man and he kind of like I
felt like the scene in the oceanwith Jeremiah and Conrad, like
Conrad was trying to be asupportive brother and like I
(28:10):
felt like when he said it iskind of ridiculous, like it's
just what everyone's thinkingyeah, yeah, oh yeah.
(28:36):
I mean I'm glad that they allhad that reaction to like even
Steven, yes, taylor and Conrad.
Like episode kind of ends withhe conrad is like gonna leave
cousins once belly and jeremiahshow up.
He doesn't, you know, it's toomuch for him.
So he books a flight to go backhe's got a job, you know, back
at um, wherever he is incalifornia.
But he hears belly crying ashe's about to leave, and that
scene was so sweet.
I just love conrad.
I know that was sad, he's socute, he's so cute, he's so cute
(29:00):
.
And so he sees her crying andso then he changes his mind and
tells Jeremiah he'll be the bestman.
And at the end of the episodehe tells Belly this and she hugs
him and it's like very clearthat that hug is some type of
catalyst.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
It's like hard yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Yeah, um, and he
realizes he still loves her.
My thing with this at thispoint, and one thing I've seen
online, is they say that in thebooks, belly never sleeps with
conrad or jeremiah.
Oh really, yeah, that she's.
She has not slept with eitherof them, and I don't think that
her and jeremiah have beendating as long as they are in
(29:40):
the series.
I think it's like two years, not four years yeah, that that
might be right so I like I'mwhere I'm at is like at this
point.
Her and jeremiah have beentogether for four years.
Like how in the world do you goback to his brother?
Like in what?
Speaker 2 (29:56):
it just is too much I
know and I feel like her and
conrad were like barely togetheroh, I know they, they were,
they had like yeah, was it likea month?
Speaker 1 (30:07):
I don't even know and
like if someone were to tell
you the story without watchingthe show and you're like, okay,
so she was with, she was in.
She grew up being in love withthe brother.
The older brother crush on himforever.
They dated a little bit but hebroke.
He broke things off and nowshe's been dating the younger
brother for four years.
You would think it's so weirdthat if she went back to the
(30:28):
older one, yeah, I mean, ifanything, it's kind of mean to
date the younger brother.
Oh, I know he's home college andI don't know.
And then just I, don't know, you know this going to mess Jare
up because he already has thatinsecurity to Conrad.
He has like that inferioritycomplex already.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
Yeah, that's true I,
and this is why I'm rooting for
Steven and Taylor yeah, I know,I know.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Yeah, there's
definitely like some something
going on with Steven and hisco-worker they're trying to
allude to.
Oh yeah, but Steven and Taylorare endgame.
There's no doubt in my mindlike they will end up together
at the end of the show I liketaylor's mom in it too.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
Yeah, I just love
taylor.
Okay, wait, can you answer mesomething, though?
Like yeah, remember, like Idon't know if it's last episodes
or two episodes ago she waslike she called steven to have
him like help her books and she,but she was kind of like making
us like.
It seemed like she was like shecalled steven to have him like
help her books and she, but shewas kind of like making us like.
It seemed like she was tryingto like get them to like talk.
Oh yeah, steven, like secretly, like get them talking and was
using that as the the reason.
(31:28):
But then, like it's kind ofgone on and on that, she has
like these death problems.
So I was like, is she lying orsomething like no, I think that
she was.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
No, I think her
intention was to get together to
talk, but she didn't realizebecause her ex-husband or her
ex-boyfriend handled everythingjust like how bad she was in.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Okay, yeah, so she's
not like oh, ha, ha, ha anymore.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
No, I think that she,
because it like seems like even
in this last episode it's likeshe's just not responsible, Like
she's aware now that all ofthis is happening, but even it
shows like the mom wants to golike shopping and like doesn't
want to take care of what sheneeds to take care of.
So Taylor has to leave herinter internship in Boston, new
York, to stay at home and helpher mom with the salon.
(32:10):
I don't think it's like the momis malicious or has any like.
I don't think she had any likemalintent.
I just think that she's notresponsible and like this
episode shows it, because she'sjust like wanting to go shop and
even though she's in like somuch financial debt.
I like having the mom in it,though.
It's a good dynamic.
Yeah, I think it.
Yeah, I agree, and I think itgives more like context to like
(32:31):
Taylor and why she is the wayshe is.
I mean, she's my favorite.
So, uh, any more of theirstoryline I'm in, but hopefully
this next episode I'm hoping weget a really good.
I want a conrad heavy episode.
I think that's what I'm missingfrom this season.
It's like he's in it, but I needsomething.
He needs to be more.
He's like barely in it that Ilike the scenes best when it's
(32:51):
all of them together, but I wantthe scenes with him and belly,
so I'm like really hoping thatthis next episode they're both
in cousins he hasn't gone homeyet and they can we can see a
little bit of their dynamic yeah, from what I'm remembering, I
feel like that's what happenedin the book.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
Like jeremiah had to
go, like back and forth, but
like belly and conrad were therea lot alone for the most of the
summer.
Let's hope so I'm.
I feel like that.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
