It was a big weekend over here.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
It was Kristen's
birthday.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Yep, it was my
birthday, the big 3-5.
It was my birthday the bigthree five.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
It was honestly a
great weekend.
It was so much fun.
Good, well, yeah, okay, sowe're going to talk about that
we're going to talk about summer.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
I turned pretty.
We are so excited to talk.
I feel like I've seen so muchcommentary on the summer.
I turned pretty.
Um, I'm like itching to give mytake.
So, yeah, that's going to begreat.
And then we are going to talk alittle bit about what we were
doing.
At this time last year we werein Vienna.
So one year anniversary, oneyear anniversary, right.
So some storytelling time.
(00:55):
Yeah, birthday weekend.
I was like go, go, go thisweekend.
But Friday we ended up going to.
I went with my sister, mybrother-in-law and my two
nephews, and then some of theirfriends, to the Luke Bryan
concert.
How was that?
It was really good, luke Bryan.
I feel like I've seen himbefore.
(01:15):
You've seen Luke Bryan, right?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
I don't think I have.
I'm not a big country person.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Oh, you know what I
feel like I just assumed you did
, because I actually ran intoChris, your husband, at a live
concert.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Oh yeah, chris went
with his mom once, yeah, yes, at
July, yeah, july.
Well, I was thinking that, because didn't you say it was in
Mansfield?
It was like the Tweeter Center, whatever that's called, yes,
xfinity Center, it's likedowngraded, I guess.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Yeah, I mean, I was
thinking that too.
I will say it was hilarious.
My nephews are 10 and this wastheir first concert.
They're playing football.
They were having a great timeat the tailgate.
The minute we got to the lawnseats, my nephew John just
passed out.
He slept the entire concert.
What, oh my God, his firstconcert His first concert Slept
the entire that's going to behilarious story someday.
But yeah, just passed out wehad a couple of blankets, fell
(02:06):
asleep the entire time.
My other nephew ended upplaying Roblox or something, I
don't know, on his phone, like90% of it.
We, me and Melissa and Ross, are having a great time watching
it.
After the concert we're likefellas, what'd you think of the
your first show?
They were like it was great.
We loved it.
This is what kids do these days.
I don't know, it was hilarious,it was really funny.
(02:26):
But yeah, he did a good job.
He played the hits and that'swhat we're looking for, so I
enjoyed it.
And then Saturday I went with mysister also, uh, and her
sister-in-law, nicole, andNicole's sister, annie, so it
was two sets of sisters.
We went into the city, um, toContessa for brunch.
(02:47):
Have you ever been there?
No, where is it?
Oh, my gosh, but beautiful.
It's right in Back Bay.
It's on, I think it's onNewberry, oh, or you know the
one right after it, um, but it'sgot.
It's got a rooftop bar likevery floral is it new?
no, it's.
I guess it's been there a while.
I just had never been there.
Oh, but yeah, it was so goodand it was.
It's a perfect girls brunch out, ladies, if you're looking for-
(03:10):
.
Tell me less, Say less.
Exactly, If you're looking fora nice upscale brunch with your
girls, Contessa is where it's at.
They had amazing cocktails.
All the food was so good andit's like, yeah, a rooftop view
of the city and your downtown.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
You know Newberry
Street, so it's like it was good
and we went Not many rooftopsin Boston, so it was a covered
rooftop, that's okay, yeah, that's okay, but very like,
pretty kind of girly floraldecor which I appreciated.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Love that, love that.
And then we went to see thecomedian Nate Borghese at the
Garden.
Oh yeah, I forgot you weresaying that.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Geez, you were a ton
of stuff this weekend.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
No, literally.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Like I was booked and
busy we're only like halfway
through too.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
No, yeah, no, I was
booked and busy this weekend.
I mean, my goodness, my batteryis on low today, but it was
great.
It was all worth it.
Nate Bargetzi was hilarious.
He's a dry comic, so he doesn'tswear.
It's very oh why, doesn't heswear he's just a clean comic.
(04:13):
I don't know.
I mean.
Most of what he talks about isthe relationship he has with his
wife.
He's been married 19 years.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
So he doesn't make
dirty jokes too probably dirty
jokes too?
Speaker 1 (04:26):
probably no, no, he
was making jokes about how, like
he doesn't want his door dashorders that come at 10 30 at
night for the dashers to ringthe doorbell because he doesn't
need anyone else in his homeknowing that he's door dashing
blizzards and mcdonald's at, youknow, 10 30 at night and paying
for chris.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Chris, uh, that
resonates with chris 1000.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
He's like I don't
want to.
That's why I'm paying 15 000for this blizzard, for you know
privacy yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
I feel like I can
appreciate like the jokes,
because sometimes I feel likecomics can be kind of like
racist, honestly.
Um, so I can appreciate theclean jokes, but the no swearing
I think that's weird yeah, I, Idon't know he.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
He was very funny.
I actually really think you'dlike it, but I mean fair um, I'm
sure I would.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
I just think swears
like make any statement so much
more impactful and meaningfulsee that.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
What's your favorite
swear?
I think I know it probably.
Fuck, I think that's.
Yeah, that's what I would sayfor you.
I think me too.
What's your favorite swear?
Fuck, I think fuck.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah, it just it does
have like there's emphasis, but
I actually don't think I swearthat much yeah, I feel like I do
yeah I think you do I like doit in front of my kids and I
think swearing is differentthese days, now like there's
more swearing on tv and on theinternet, like it's so
accessible to them, so they'regonna hear swears yeah, no, I
(05:43):
don't think I have no issue withpeople who like swear or swear
in front of their kids orwhatever.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yeah, I just feel
like it's not in my vocabulary
that much.
I just don't even think aboutit I guess I never noticed that.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah, no, no, I don't
know true but probably true.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah, me and nate.
You know we're just like cleancomics over here clean comics
over here, sorry.
Yeah, yeah, so yeah.
And then um, nitin, my friendNitin, and his wife Kavita were
in town.
They live in New Jersey and sowe met up with um, with them,
and met their new baby, nice,he's so cute Boy Boy.
(06:22):
How old is he?
Oh, I want to say I mean baby,I want to say maybe like six
months.
Oh, nice, so that was great.
And then yesterday sorry, thisweekend is it's taken a while,
sorry everyone I told you, Iknow, I told you guys.
And then yesterday, britt andsome of our friends and some of
(06:42):
my family, we met at granitelinks, which is really fun
driving range and has like anoutdoor bar, um, and we had a
afternoon out there and it was.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
It was, it was fun
and it was good because we
brought the kids and we had likethe driving range, so that was
like a good little activity forthem.
They could walk around.
Um, it was hot, but it didn't Ifeel like under the shade it
wasn't bad.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Yeah, earlier in the
day it wasn't as bad because we
had more of the shade as theafternoon went on.
If the sun was moving and we,it definitely was getting pretty
hot out there.
I felt our waitress, honestly, was like the goat.
I felt bad for her at one point.
Yeah, yeah, I did too.
You know, we reeled it in.
We started to get like buckets,we were cleaning, cleaning up,
we were, we were, I thought, conscientious guests.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah, legit, every
time she came over, someone was
like, oh, can I have this, can Ihave this?
But I feel like you got toexpect that when you have like a
big group.
Yeah, I think.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
I think we were fine.
Also, connor Connor's was bestdressed his outfit yesterday.
Oh my God.
He walked in.
I was like you're stealing theshow.
He had this cute little redpolo golf tee and then it
matched his little socks, hisspidey socks.
He was just so stinking cuteyesterday and he was crushing it
on the driving range.
I heard at one point Ross waslike Connor.
(07:54):
Whoa, he did a really good job.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Well, he practices at
Nana Day with Papa, so he's not
a stranger to golf.
We to top golf over once in awhile too.
But yeah, chris, uh, chris, dressed up.
It's funny because, like chris, like cares about what he like,
he doesn't like, when they likedon't match or whatever, and I
am just like, wear whatever thefuck you want, I don't care.
Oh my god, you do you kit, youdo you connor, wear whatever you
(08:17):
want as long as it'sappropriate for the situation.
I don't give a fuck um, and Ilike to have him have his own
little style.
Connor is very particular abouthis clothing, so it was a big
deal that he let Chris dress him, but he did look cute.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
He looked so cute,
that's I mean like father, like
son.
Chris is particular about hisclothes.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Yeah, well, so am I,
yeah, okay.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Yeah, you definitely
have style.
I feel like you've always hadlike style.
Oh my God, thanks.
Oh my God, you're so welcome,it's like my goal in life, girl.
Well, you're crushing it.
So, yeah, that was the weekend35.
You know I thought I was.
I do.
Still I don't love being 35,but 34, I think was like the
best year of my life.
(09:01):
And know, bring it on 35.
I'm ready to see what we got.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
So yeah, I mean, when
you think of it like that, like
you're like, oh, would I ratherbe like 25 right now or 35?
Like honestly, kind of 35.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
No, I 100% think 30s
are better than 20s.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Oh, yeah, yeah, I
mean, and you still don't feel
old.
No, I mean, and you still don'tfeel old.
No, that's, that's.
I feel like going to be thehardest part of getting old is
like feeling physically old.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Yeah, I agree, I
don't feel.
I physically don't feel like Ihave any like ailments or
anything.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Right, right yeah,
which is why, like thirties are
kind of great.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
I feel like you play
the comparison game way more in
your twenties than you do inyour thirties yeah, way more in
your 20s than you do in your 30s.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Yeah, that's probably
true.
I feel like your 20s too.
It's all about, like you knowthe path you're on, like going
to the next, the next thinggetting married, the next thing,
like whatever, having a baby, blah, blah, blah.
But then when you're you get toyour 30s, you're kind of like
oh okay, like I'm here, likemaybe I don't have to like do
all those steps that everyonetaught me for my whole life when
I was supposed to do like inorder to become adult.
(10:05):
And yeah, you realize that's allkind of bullshit.
Wish I knew that earlier.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
I totally agree.
I feel like when I was, I wasexplaining this to someone.
I feel like the difference likeokay, when you're in high
school, all you know your entireworld is the people at least
for us, in our experience, because we grew up in a town
that had one high school and weknew everybody that we grew up
with pretty much since we werekids and that's like all you
know, that's your whole world,so just everything seems so much
(10:31):
more important in terms of,like, what people think about
you, and you're just youngerobviously.
But then once you get older andyou have more life experience,
you realize that, like 90% ofthe people that you knew at that
time, you're never going toreally talk to again.
And then you do the same thingin college, like you're you know
, you think, oh, everyone'sopinions are so important right
now.
But then you get some more lifeexperience and you realize 90%
(10:53):
of those people you're nevergoing to talk to again.
So I just feel like at this ageyou kind of know who are the
people that have stuck aroundthat are that really matter.
And then everyone else it'sjust like who cares.
You kind of realize that itdoesn't even matter.
So I feel like that's a benefit.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Yeah, but yeah, and
you're just way smarter.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Way smarter.
Yeah, totally Way smarter.
No, I feel like the 30s arewhere they're at I've.
I feel like the past few yearshave been like great, so no
complaints.
Hopefully it keeps on thattrajectory.
It's just flying by, I knowit's so crazy.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
I was going to say.
I think your 34th birthday, though, was better than your
35th birthday, even though youhad a weekend full of plans this
weekend.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Oh, because we were
abroad.
Brittany and I were sending itin Vienna.
We had the best time we should.
Let's talk about it.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Fine, I'll kick us
off here.
It was my idea to go to me.
Well, no, I really okay.
So everyone.
So we've traveled for taylorconcerts.
Before we went to denver, we'vegone to new york, blah blah,
for reputation.
All of a sudden, everyone elseis doing it, even though, again,
we invented that, um, and goingto europe, which is like our
favorite place in the world, yep, um, to see taylor, to see the
(12:04):
aris tour, cheaper and, like youknow, you can.
There's like a pit there, so wecould.
We were going to buy likegeneral admission tickets and
sit in the front row and likepeople are like, oh, you don't
know if you would have gone thefront row.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
I'm like no, we would
have gone the front row.
You don't know us.
We would have been front row.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
There's no doubt in
my mind that we would run front
row.
But yeah, so we.
I think we were going back andforth, we were thinking maybe
amsterdam, I don't know, but theonly one that really worked out
was vienna.
For some reason, and it waslike, at least for me, I used,
like all my credit card pointsthat I've never touched before.
I like used all my freakingchips that I've collected from
chris golfing to be like I'mgoing away.
And of course we all know whathappened.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Two days before we're
supposed to leave, we get the
news alert I think Gina sent itto us that, or at least to me
that the concert the TaylorSwift concert was getting
canceled because of a bombthreat, and that was a bleak day
.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah, it was like the
worst thing that's ever
happened to me.
No, I mean, I tell people allthe time the exact feeling.
It's like you're aneight-year-old kid and you wake
up on Christmas morning andthey're like, oh sorry, Santa
didn't come.
No Christmas this year.
One thousand percent or it'slike the last day of school and
they're like, oh, psych, youactually have to stay this
summer.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
It's not the end of
school, something you're so
excited about, and then, justlike in a matter of seconds,
yeah, just crashed christmas wascanceled.
So we really consideredcanceling.
We were like, can we, are wegoing to be able to justify I
mean, it's no easy feat gettingover to europe, right?
So it's going to be a lot oftravel.
We literally were going to bethere for, I think, less, less
than 72 hours.
Yeah, it was quick, it wasquick.
So there was maybe a four-hourperiod of scrambling where we
were looking into cancellationpolicies.
(13:50):
I mean, we did not buyinsurance for any of this.
So you know what we said hey,we're just going to send it,
we're on to Vienna and we hadthe best time in Vienna, yeah.
Yeah, and the Swifties turnedout in Vienna that was like the
best part the costumeseverywhere you go.
At one point, every single barthat we're walking by is playing
(14:14):
Taylor Swift.
This is the dream.
Legit, we were talking to allof the Swifties.
People are just singing in thestreet.
It was awesome.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
It was like a
collection of our people.
It was a collection of ourpeople.
It was a collection of ourpeople exactly.
Yeah, yeah and yeah, vienna, like they pulled out all the
stops.
They were like all the bars andstuff were like we're gonna
have swifty themed drinks orwhatever.
We're gonna play taylor music.
Like come here and the swiftiescame um.
I feel like our favorite barwas that one.
It was like a little hole inthe wall and they had like
(14:44):
sparkly.
They had like these sparklypink drinks.
I don't remember what was inthem, but they were sparkly they
were sparkly um, and they wereplaying like, I think,
reputation, like start to finish.
So it wasn't like you know, thisis taylor swift on spotify or
something um, and yeah, we werejust like bopping and when we
were looking around and we werelike, oh, look at all these
other people just singing theserandom parts of like dress or
(15:06):
something, like some random songyeah, like out loud at a bar
like this is heaven, this isheaven.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
And there's no one
around to make fun of us, most
of our friends would make fun ofus.
No one was around to make funof us.
Everyone was on our same level, like we were just yeah, we were
vibing.
It was so much fun.
Also, it was the birthplace ofBrittany and I discovering our
new favorite drink that we madeour entire personality.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Prosecco.
You would have thought that wehad never heard of Prosecco
before in our lives.
We don't drink Prosecco.
When was I mean honestly?
Now we do.
Now, oh, we, we get over therebecause everything's better in
Europe.
It's not all the crap.
They don't have all of the nohangover, no hangover.
Everything is just like yeah, not cheap.
Oh my god, so cheap.
(15:54):
I think our wines were likefour dollars.
You can drink on the street.
You can drink on the street.
Yep, no rules, we love them.
No rules if there's one thingthat britney and I value freedom
, freedom, yeah, and having norules and having no rules.
So we're drinking on the street, we're singing taylor.
If there's one thing thatBrittany and I value, freedom,
freedom, yeah, and having norules and having no rules.
So we're drinking on the street, we're singing Taylor, we're,
you know, loving Prosecco, likeit was just so great.
(16:17):
I think.
How we found it was we foundthis one bar that had or it
wasn't a bar, it was arestaurant.
They had amazing pizza and theyhad outside seating.
So we're just like sitting onthis cute little side street in
Vienna and we ordered a bottleof Prosecco randomly I don't
know why and our lives changed.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
We were like I think
it was because like it was like
they had a lot of spritzes there.
Okay, um, that makes sense.
So, yeah, I think that's kindof what got us started on it.
But then we were like, whoa, this is like really good.
And also, like in europe theydon't have like high noons and
stuff, you know, they only havelike beer and wine.
But like honestly though, shoutout to vienna like those are
(16:57):
the best cocktails I've ever had.
It was so good, they're likething is cocktails and I feel
like they go all out, but butthey cost like eight dollars, oh
not 18.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
We loved that place
so much, though.
Remember that we went backthere a second day in a row.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Oh yeah, the one I
posted of you for your birthday.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Yes, yes, that was
like our spot.
That was our spot.
We loved it.
Actually, there's a lot of ties.
That's kind of crazy to reflectand think about a year ago,
because that was also thebirthplace of the pod.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Yeah, yeah I know we
did, uh, some podcast episodes
there, just trying it out forthe first time we did.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
We went to a park.
We went to a park, we sat down,I think, and we were like, okay
, let's just go for it, recordour first episode.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
That'd be hilarious
to listen to that back now I
know, I, yeah, I feel like itwas like lost on my phone for a
while and then I listened to ita few months ago and that's why
I was like we should just do it.
So I'm glad we did.
Proud of us.
Me, too, I forgot about yourbirthday.
Remember that?
Oh my God.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Yes, that's hilarious
yeah tell about.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Yeah, well, okay, so
yeah, uh, it was like I knew it
was your birthday while we werethere.
I just like woke up and hadn'tthought of it because, like you
know, time's all messed up ineurope.
I think I forgot totally.
Yeah, right, exactly, like Ijust didn't look at the the date
and see that it was like 8, 10,um, but yeah, we were like
going to this, so actually wehad planned a bunch of like
tourist shit and we bailed onall of it.
(18:29):
I think pretty much Did we doanything?
Speaker 1 (18:31):
I don't think so.
We planned to go see anequestrian show.
We planned a two hour walkingtour.
We're like we're going to killit.
We're going to do all of thethings in the morning.
Didn't make it to any of it.
Didn't make it to any of it.
Didn't make it to any of it.
I think we just bailed on theequestrian show.
We were just like, nah, we'renot doing that.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
It was too early.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Yeah, and then we get
to the walking tour, because
Brittany is a huge history buff, specifically World War II.
Yes, and the tour was aboutHitler.
He had spent time in Vienna, right, or he was from there, or
something.
Yeah, I think he's like fromaustria yeah, so we get to the
(19:10):
tour and we realize that this isa two, three hour walking tour.
The tour guide hands outheadphones and headsets and
bernie's like looking at me,she's like making eyes, she's
like don't take the headset, don't take that I was like don't
get the headset.
I'm like what, what are youtalking about?
We need to get the headset.
This is a tour and headset.
I was like don't get theheadset.
I'm like what, what are youtalking about?
We need to get the headset.
This is a tour.
And she's like Kristen if weget the headset, we're locked in
(19:32):
, no freedom.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Yes, that's not how I
travel.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
No, we need an out.
I don't want to be trapped, Idon't want to be like all right,
we're out of here, let's go getsome prosecco well, no, that's
when we like almost got kickedout, though, because that's when
I realized it was your birthday, remember?
Speaker 2 (19:50):
we were like standing
in the crowd and they were like
trying to get everyone headsets, and I was like running away
trying not to get a headset andthen I think it was heather like
texted in our group chat.
It was like happy birthday,kristen.
And I went, oh fuck, it's yourbirthday, like, and everyone
stared at us and then we ranaway oh my god, typical loud
americans, yeah, yeah it's yourbirthday.
(20:12):
I was like holy shit, it's yourbirthday.
So then we ditched the stupidtour and I think we went to like
the ritz or something right, wegot like a fancy drink yeah,
something way better.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
It was the best
choice we made.
Yeah, yeah, it really was theonly the only bad thing that
happened on that trip and it itwas the only time I think I've
ever traveled and actually feltunsafe at some point.
So thank goodness it happenedthe very last night we were
there.
We were getting every night wewere there we got gelato from
across the street from where wewere staying there was this cute
(20:45):
little gelato shop.
So we're sitting where we cansee our hotel and this drunk guy
no shirt.
He was a big dude.
I mean, that guy to me lookedlike he was like 6'5 or
something.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
I remember thinking I
think it wasn't even that late
too.
It was like 7.30.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah, I mean it was
definitely sun had set, so I
think it was nighttime, but itwasn't crazy late.
Sun had set, so I think it wasit was nighttime, but it wasn't
crazy late.
Yeah, and all of a sudden helike sees us and kind of just
starts beelining towards us andhe so he crosses the street and
I think I looked at you and said, hey, brett, like eyes up,
let's go into the hotel.
I think I'd already noticed him.
(21:22):
Yeah, I think so.
And so we see him cross thestreet.
We immediately get up, startwalking towards our hotel and
that's when we noticed that heturns around and starts
following us.
Remember, yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Because this guy was
scary.
He was like a skinhead.
If he lived a hundred years agohe'd be a Nazi 1000.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
So then we get into
the hotel.
Oh, I forgot about this.
We loved the people who workedat the hotel, remember?
Oh yeah, they loved us, theyloved us yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
They were like our
besties.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
They were so nice.
But yeah, well, that's what wewere saying.
They care about hospitalityLike they want you to have a
good experience.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
Yeah, I know it's not
just about making money Right,
squeezing every dollar out ofyou.
It's like oh yeah, we want youto have a good experience, so
there's free, like banana breador whatever.
Like they would never do thathere.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
No, no, oh God, no,
um.
We get in there and all of asudden we tell the guy, the
concierge, what's going on, andI don't remember the exact
sequence of events.
But then that dude like presseshis body up against the full
length window.
Yeah, and then they were theygot scared too in the lobby, yes
, and then they got scared.
So we immediately like jump andrun back to the part where
(22:30):
there was a stairwell and hecouldn't see us, and as we're
turning the corner, we see himcharge into the hotel.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
That was the scariest
.
No well, we stood by the door.
We couldn't see there was alittle window in the door that
you could peek out and we stoodthere for like two or three
minutes.
And we stood there for like twoor three minutes and we were
like, okay, I think he'sprobably gone now.
And then we like looked out thewindow and he's fucking
charging right back at us.
That was scary.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
That was when I was
the most scared and the
concierge put hands on him likehad to physically stop him.
He had to put himself inbetween us and the guy.
And then we just flip out andwe luckily were able to catch
the elevator.
But do you remember ouradrenaline was like so high and
(23:13):
we were like, yeah, did we leave?
Is the concierge okay?
Like I remember we kept beinglike do we need to call and like
make sure he's like fine, likeit turned out to be fine he, you
know.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
just, I think we went
back down or called or
something.
We called yeah, called yeahyeah, but, yeah, so but yeah
hopefully chris never hears thisbecause that's not helping my
case for future europe tripsokay, yeah, no, chris, it was
totally fine.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
It was like not even
a big deal it was.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
No, don't worry he
doesn't listen.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Yeah, okay, so we're
good.
Um, but yeah, that was the only.
That was the only bad thing Iremember.
After that we were like, okay,it's time to go home.
But overall, that trip was sucha fun like vienna is like a
hidden gem.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
I feel like the food
was so good, so good.
So the drinks were so good, socheap.
It was like, oh, remember theclothes there everyone was
wearing.
It was like 1995.
And we were like oh, my God,we're so stylish, Like yes no,
we look so good compared tothese people.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
That was crazy.
I forgot about that.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
it felt legit, like
we were transported in time yeah
, like across the board, likethe, the amount everything cost,
like what people were wearing, the technology, everything it
was very back in time.
But yeah, no, it was, buteveryone was so nice there and I
feel like they're all aboutlike I love how they, how they,
(24:27):
you know everything's about likedecadence.
And like making.
You know all the cocktails hadlike all the bells and whistles
and stuff like that and like alltheir you know sweets and stuff
were like so good but yeah.
But the downside was it wasdefinitely a very like white
area.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Oh my God, no
diversity.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Still tell that like
yeah, the Nazis.
Like impact is, is still there, but yeah, kind of sad, but
otherwise it's great.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
I will say not to
toot our own horns.
We travel well together and wecan have fun anywhere.
So, like we kind of knew, wewere like, whatever we're just
gonna, we're gonna have a greattime and we did and yeah, it was
.
I feel like it feels I can'tbelieve it was only a year ago.
To me it feels like it waslonger than a year ago.
Yeah, probably true, but butyeah, um, speaking of Swifty,
(25:27):
taylor talk, we do have anupdate and this is breaking news
, so we do need to mention it.
Swifties, run, don't walk.
Go to Taylor nation and then onInstagram and go to the new
heights Instagram.
We think something's a Bruin.
We're just going to repost this.
I'll repost it.
Yeah, repost it.
New heights put a teaser fortheir episode coming out on
Wednesday.
New Heights put a teaser fortheir episode coming out on
(25:51):
Wednesday, which is the 13th,and they have a cutout of who
the guest is.
It definitely looks like Taylor.
It's like a shadow.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Yeah, it's like a
shadow.
It's definitely her.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
It looks like her.
Also, jason is repping Aera'smerch.
And then, in the same day, taylor Nation posted a story.
And then, in the same day, taylor Nation posted a story.
And in that story they saysomething along the lines of
like remember when Taylor saidI'll see you in our next era or
in my next era, yeah, likethinking about when Taylor said
I'll see you in my next era.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Like what the fuck?
That is the most exciting thingof all.
Yes, absolutely.
But Taylor Nation, like that,don't.
I hope they're not trying totrick us, though.
Like with the countdown thing.
It's like, whatever, have yourlaugh, blah, blah, blah.
But like don't fuck around withtalking about her next era and
like, trick me on the internet.
Okay, taylor Nation, if you'relistening, don't do that.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
Please don't do that,
please don't do that.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
It's just taking it
too far, okay, yeah.
So yeah, taking it too far, okay, yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
So, yeah, I feel like
I'm pretty confident she's at
least gonna be on the show.
I, I definitely think it's tooobvious.
It's almost too obvious.
Um, also, like now that there'sso much stuff coming out like a
flurry in the past couple ofhours about this, I just think
there's more and more.
Apparently, taylor swift'slabel republic records commented
on the taylor nation instagrampost with an orange heart and in
the post she's like wearingorange, which I could see.
(27:17):
I could see that chiefs colorsare red and yellow.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
It makes sense that
the next like I was thinking she
doesn't have an orange one yet,Right Um so.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
I mean, it all makes
sense.
Yeah so we think something'sa-brewing.
Stay tuned, we will keep youabreast as we hear more, but I
am confident I will shit myselfif it's like music or something.
Heard, but last and certainlynot least, our final part of the
(27:50):
episode.
We are talking about summer.
I turned pretty.
Episode five dropped yes.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
I'm waiting for this.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Oh, we've been
waiting for this.
It I didn't disappoint.
I thought it was a greatepisode.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Yeah, I thought it
was great too.
I didn't like that peach scene.
Oh, you didn't know, I thoughtit was weird as fuck and I have.
No, I thought it was weird asfuck and I hate to say this.
I feel like I love Conradbecause he's so cute, but I feel
like he's not a very good actor.
Oh really, and I don't thinkhim and Belly's chemistry is
(28:23):
like that great.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Oh, that's so
interesting.
I did not have that takeaway.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Yeah, I know it's
like.
I don't want it to be like thatbut that's how I felt.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
I mean, hey, that's
fair.
I thought that he did a goodjob, like I feel like he does a
good job of like the smolderingkind of staring at her.
I just loved that.
Yeah yeah, the episode was likeConrad's point of view, so you
got to hear his inner thoughts, you know, like the whole, and
yeah, I feel like watching itwithout that commentary, like I
mean it just adds so muchbecause he's not, he's obviously
(28:56):
not acting on any of hisemotions, but you hear him say
to himself like you knowweakling, or like don't do it,
don't do it before he invitesher to Michaels, which, oh my.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
God, he's just like
he definitely has it the hardest
.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Oh my God, no, that's
my biggest takeaway from the
episode.
Or, like, when I left, theepisode was like I just want
Conrad to be happy.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
I don't even care if
it's a belly, I don't care.
Yeah, exactly, it's like.
Yeah, I didn't even feel like Iwas like so obsessed with them.
It was more like I just yeah, Ilove him.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
I love him.
I also loved.
I saw this take online, so thiswasn't my thought, but we
always talk about the music onthis show and the music is such
a big part of the show, but itwas all like old school music
this time.
It was kind of a different vibe, like a ton of Otis Redding
wild horses played during thepeach scene, like into the, I
feel like I need to look up thesongs in it.
(29:44):
I wrote some of them down.
So two Otis Redding songs, these Arms of Mine, and that's
how Strong my Love Is.
There was a fleetwood mac songsong bird wild horses by the
rolling stones into the mystic.
I didn't write down who singsthat one, but you know that song
it's like yeah yeah, um lingercranberries.
Oh yeah, I remember that one.
Yep, and they did have oneharry style song, cherry, oh
(30:07):
yeah, which one cherry?
Speaker 2 (30:11):
cherry yeah, I, I
thought I noticed the music for
sure in this last episode I waslike, oh, this music is really
good.
Yeah, taylor though.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Well, I think.
But they were saying it'sbecause, like it's conrad's
episode, so like his, it wasalmost oh oh, I kind of like
that exactly like taylor, themusic to him exactly like.
I feel like a lot of like thepop girlies are in a lot of the
other episodes and it's likethat's like Belly's type of
music.
But Conrad's was much more, yeah, like old school classic.
Yeah, I like how they did that,me too, and I noticed the same
(30:42):
thing with his outfit.
Did you notice that he waswearing like a very classic,
kind of almost reminded me ofRyan Gosling in the notebook,
his character's style, style, like it was just like a plain
white tee and like, yeah, plainpants, yeah, pleated pants.
So I just feel like they'retrying to, with the music and in
the costume, try to give himthis very I keep saying classic,
(31:03):
but that's the word that comesto mind.
Just, you know, timeless lookyeah yeah, I agree, um, and he
crushes that totally and I feellike that's different than
jeremiah oh, definitely, no,yeah, jeremiah, I feel like,
like I think if it was ajeremiah point of view episode,
because they did one for himlast season I don't remember
what music- oh, they did yeah, they did.
(31:24):
I don't remember what music wason there, but I could see his
being much more current musicfor sure he's like frat boy.
I feel like 101 yeah, totalparty upbeat whatever frat boys
listen to yep, sure, but yeah, they made him.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
They were.
I feel like they were probablytrying to show, like the, the
contrast between like Conrad andJeremiah, but like Jeremiah's
kind of turning into abridezilla oh, I know, I think
that was smart how they did that, how they were shown it was.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
It was very clearly
to show that like conrad is like
takes care of belly, like seeswhat she needs with, like the
flower thing, when he was likejust do the hydrangeas just like
whatever um, and then jeremiah, like threw a little bitch fit
about the cake which was sostupid.
I was like loser who cares.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Yeah, if you care,
like if people care about the
cake at your wedding, they're aloser.
Loser behavior.
I mean sorry, it's just likewho gives a shit.
You're supposed to be havingfun by the time the cake comes
out.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
Totally but they very
clearly did that, I think to
yeah yeah, make it like show younot like him and just show that
Conrad's like better for belly.
I feel like he like comfortsher and like Jeremiah was like
stressing her out.
But yeah, I feel like that waskind of a good point.
That's a lot of what I've seenonline.
Is that scene people talkingabout it?
Speaker 2 (32:44):
I feel like I would
be interested to talk to someone
who is team Jeremiah and likeunderstand why.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
I know I can see
there was an argument for it.
I could see why back in seasonone, because Conrad was so like
aloof and distant.
But now that we know him betterand know like why he's like
that, I don't see how you couldhave an argument for team
Jeremiah.
Yeah right, totally no, I don'tthink so at all.
Another thing I noticed aboutthis episode the scene with
(33:13):
Conrad and his mom when he'scrying.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
That was so sad.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Oh my God, that broke
my heart.
That was so sad.
Also, laurel wasn't in thisepisode.
Oh yeah, she needed a break.
She's doing the Lord's workover here.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
She's doing the hard
work, right now, yeah, yeah,
she's doing the Lord's work overhere she's doing the hard work
right now.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Yeah, yeah, she's
trying to get that wedding
canceled Right.
But yeah, the peach scene.
I didn't hate the peach scene,I just.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Oh, I thought it was
so weird.
I felt so awkward the entiretime watching it.
That's so funny, but I mean,I'm an awkward person.
I don't like things on TV thatmake me feel awkward, so sure,
like what's that Married atfirst sight?
I hate that.
I hate that show.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
I mean, I love that
show.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
It's so awkward.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
I feel like the team
Conrad girls were kind of fed
this episode.
And finally we needed it.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
I'm trying to
remember if they showed a
preview for this week's episode.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
I feel like they
don't normally know, but I mean,
I feel like everyone had thatcollective just feeling at the
very end, when Conrad and Bellyare having dinner, and then you
just hear Jeremiah's voice as hecomes in the door oh yeah, I
know, it was like thatcollective Also.
Okay, now that we're saying that, the one thing that like really
(34:36):
pissed me off this episode islike, jeremiah, can you just
like not, you know, be all overyour girlfriend in front of your
brother?
Can you guys just like chillout for two seconds and not be,
like you know, all over eachother?
You know that Conrad stillloved her.
Like can we just have a littlerespect?
Speaker 2 (34:53):
yeah I do.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
You think he does
know that conrad still loves her
definitely yeah, I mean he, heknew, at least when they, even
if it was four years ago, heknew when he was getting
together with belly, that conradstill loved belly yeah yeah, so
like reel it in thanks, yeah.
Yeah, it is kind of like mean I, I totally agree, but off
(35:17):
jeremiah, f off jeremiah, likego and oh, you're gonna save the
, your dad's company.
By notes as an intern, bynoticing that a whole financial
report was incorrect wait.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
I will say, though,
like that part, I forgot about
this like when they're at thework, when they're at work, like
their work communication is solike unrealistic.
Like the guy, like, for example, like the, their dad, adam or
whatever his name is like comesover to their little like intern
table and is like I have anurgent request.
Like see your pings or see seeteams for the details, and like
(35:51):
that, like that would neverhappen you know like no one
would walk up to you and be like, oh, I have an urgent request.
But like, look at teams, like orlike I don't know they he was
just like the numbers aren'tadding up.
I can't figure out what's goingon.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Like it was just so
like Hollywood work oh my god,
the numbers, the numbers, thenumbers aren't matching up.
oh, it's like okay, so again, soagain.
You lonely intern who can'tthey are stressed that you can't
remember to get extra dressingsfor the lunch order.
You somehow, all of thesenumbers, bypassed teams of, like
, financial experts, but youcaught it.
(36:25):
Yeah, okay, dude.
Yeah, that was a bit of Jenny, you know, take a note, that
wasn't the best, but that's okay.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was a great.
It was a great episode.
Can't wait for Wednesday.
So I know that's all the timewe have for you guys today.
Thanks so much for listening into another episode.
We'll be back on Wednesday.
(36:45):
We hope you all have a greatrest of your week.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Tell everyone you
know about us.
