Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ready, ready.
Hey everyone, welcome back tothe latest episode of Snitchin'
it's your host, kristen.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
And Brittany, get
ready for the best part of your
day.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
It's Monday, labor
Day, september 1st.
Happy Labor Day.
Happy September Britt.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah, it's actually a
happy Monday.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Yeah, wow, yeah.
This might be one of the onlyhappy Mondays that we can truly
be happy about.
That's a great take.
Yes, one of a few and it'sreally like starting to feel
like fall here in New Englandthe time the seasons
Unseasonably cool.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
I love it.
I mean.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
I love it too, yeah,
we needed a break from the heat.
I hate complaining about thesummer weather, but it's been
like beautiful out here, so Ihope everyone's enjoying the
weather.
For those of you who are in thearea Also, college football is
back baby.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Although for football
.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
I'm so excited for
football.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
How's.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Clemson Not so hot.
We had our first game onSaturday against LSU.
They were ranked fourth, lsuwas ninth and we lost.
So not a great start to theseason.
Our offense was trash.
Didn't look good at all.
So we'll see how ranked fourth.
That's pretty good, yeah, I knowI mean well, and alabama lost,
(01:21):
which just it's always a goodday when Alabama loses, so that
was a plus.
I don't know, I think becausethey lost to a number nine team
like potentially they couldstill be ranked.
But you know, just not a greatway to start the season, wasn't
a great showing.
But that's okay.
What can you do, bummer?
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Also, at least the
weather is like San Diego.
At least the yes, this is, atleast the yes, this is san diego
weather.
We can have this all the time.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
I want to live
somewhere where I take this
weather for granted seriously, not somewhere where I am like
stressing over being outside, because I have to enjoy the few
days that we have yeah, forthose who might have missed it,
on an earlier episode, britneyand her husband chris went to
san diego and the big thing thatwas taken away from that is
that San Diego, no humidity, theland where people don't sweat.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
No sweating.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I mean.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Gina.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Gina would love that.
Gina would love that.
I mean, who wouldn't?
I'm a sweaty Betty too.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, I mean, who
wouldn't want to not sweat?
Speaker 1 (02:24):
But anyway, so I mean
, hey, like this is, we're in
the no sweat season.
Let's look at it that way.
We're not in fall, we're notheaded towards winter, we're in
a no sweat season and we're herefor that.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
I guess, but it's a.
It's a tricky balance of likenot stressing yourself out,
trying to enjoy these last fewmonths of being able to go
outside.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Yeah, I mean we're
just.
We got to just live for the.
This is very like, but we justgot to live for today, britt.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
I know it's so hard,
it's so hard.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Well, I have a gripe
that I need to just say really
quickly, and I'm hoping thatthis catches the attention of
someone who works at the NewYork Times.
Oh, I feel like I know whatthis is.
My morning routine is blissfulI wake up and I do all of the
New York Times crossword gamesthe Wordle, the Connection, all
(03:17):
of them, there's like 10.
They are now putting three ofthose games mini crossword,
letterboxed and tiles behind apay gate and I am pissed.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Tiles.
What are we going to do withoutyou?
Speaker 1 (03:35):
No, I literally like
it's screwing me up.
And then I wake up and Irealize that we don't have those
games and I'm immediatelyirritated.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
I got it.
That is so sneaky.
That is so sneaky of.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
New York.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Times.
It's so annoying Becausethey're totally trying to do it
like the people like you who, like, this is their daily
routine and it's like, okay, nowI have to pay five bucks a
month to do my daily routine andyou're like, oh fine, you know.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
No, spend $5 willy
nilly on, literally like
anything, but it's just theprinciple.
I just don't want to pay forthe subscription.
Yeah, although I will say if Idid.
I also listened to the daily, the New York times podcast, and
the thing about the daily isthat if you don't listen to it,
like on the day that it'sreleased, it's only available
for a few days before it'sbehind a pay gate.
So this would also unlock.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Oh, I forgot about
that, about the daily yes.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
So it's very well
like there is value in this $5 a
month.
I just feel like something wastaken from me because it was
available to me for free before.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah, and that's like
not cool because New York Times
has advertisers up the wazoo,so they should be able to let
you have your games at least.
People that were like it's partof their daily routine, like if
you join now, maybe you youhave to pay totally.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Can I get
grandfathered in?
I'm like a number one player,right like.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
I'm the top of the
charts every week i'm'm in the
Spotify 1%.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
If there was a
Spotify ranking 1%, I'm there.
I'm always playing.
Doesn't that count forsomething?
I mean on the flip side of that, it's like I'm their number one
audience, so like I should bepaying for it.
Like I am, I'm mostly.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Well, yeah, they're
like, we can easily get you to
pay.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Like I'm right on the
cusp of subscribing and I
probably will, but I'm just notthrilled about it.
My sister texted me too.
She's like can you get the minicrossword?
I was like no, it's.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
That is a good like I
want to start.
I want to do more of that.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Like it is good
morning routine though, to like
get your brain going oh, totallyLike, yeah, right after I'm
done, I'm ready for the day I'mwoken up, I'm ready to go.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I was.
When I was in maternity leavewith Tyler, I got really into
Sudoku.
Yeah, I haven't touched itsince then.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Brittany.
They have a Sudoku, they havetwo and they have three levels
of it?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yeah, I would.
Oh, I'm not very good.
I would be on one, yeah, butyeah, I mean my brain, my like
with work and my children.
I spend enough brain powerthere.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Girl, totally, yeah.
Yeah, I need something to wakeme up.
But anyway, that's my grievancefor the week, but it's okay.
You know what?
New week?
New me and most likely New YorkTimes.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
New season.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
New month, New month,
All of the things I'm doing.
I don't know if I told you thisactually I'm doing Sober
September.
I'm doing I don't know if Itold you this actually I'm doing
sober September.
So I just had a boozy August.
I felt like I spent a lot ofmoney on alcohol.
I'm also, like, so close to mygoal weight and I just know that
if I, like you know, lock infor September, I'll get there.
(06:39):
So yeah, it's, it's going to bea sober September for your girl
.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
I feel like September
is a bad month to be sober.
It's like the most beautifulmonth of the year.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Yeah, I don't know.
I just I don't know.
I can tell that I'm I can do it, though Like I just feel.
I just feel like I got to do it.
So yeah.
I mean I feel like Octoberhonestly would be harder for me
because I love, like, pumpkinbeer and I don't really have a
lot going on in September.
So I just feel like it's verydoable for me right now.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah, I guess the
pumpkins are allowed now.
We went to Wardsbury Farmyesterday with Gina and Bill and
they had like all the pumpkinsout.
I was like, no, no pumpkins,it's still summer.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Wardsbury Farm is
like what a gem Was that there
when we were kids?
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah, I don't know if
they had like as much like all
the food places, but yeah, myfamily used to go to Wardsbury
Farm.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Wardsbury Farm again
any Massachusetts people.
It's this cute little farmthat's really close to yeah,
it's in Sharon, really close towhere we grew up.
It's on the side of Sharon.
That literally was a 10 minutedrive from my childhood home.
I never went there before, ever, until last month I went with
G2 and never had been.
It's so cute.
Yeah, it is so cute.
(07:55):
It's free for you know, if youguys want something to do with
your kids, they've got like agreat market.
I was, you know we didn't havetime to like go shop shop, but
the food there looks awesome.
They had really great flowers.
They have like pigs andchickens.
They have like a trampolinething you could do berry picking
, berry picking yeah, it wasawesome.
So, yeah, shout out to them.
(08:15):
But anywho, for today's episodewe have two big things.
We're going to talk about.
Sabrina Carpenter dropped hernew album last week Man's Best
Friend.
We've listened to it.
We're going to give our reviewand then, as always every Monday
, we're going to talk about thelatest episode of the summer.
I turned pretty, this wasepisode eight and we also, at
(08:40):
the end of the episode, aregoing to announce our September
book club pick.
So stay tuned for that.
But yeah's best friend, the newalbum.
I think it's her seventh studioalbum.
I want to say yeah, I know ohwow, yeah, I would have guessed
like three no, I'm pretty sureit was the seventh one, but but
anywho, I mean I don't knowwhere to start what.
I guess what's like youroverall take on the album I mean
(09:02):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
I I think like I
totally like her, like funny,
cheeky, like vibe, like I get itlike the song.
It's like the song sound oneway, but she's like actually
saying something else andwhatever.
Like I think that's cute and Ithink that it's.
I like how she really leansinto it, like that's her brand,
you know totally I like the songtears.
I think that's my early favorite.
(09:22):
But I still kind of feel likethey all and I hate giving this
criticism because I'm alwayslike whenever people say this,
I'm like you just need to listento the album more.
But I feel like they all soundthe same.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
No, I mean, I hear
you, I think.
Well, first off, I totallyagree, like I love, and she said
in an interview before thealbum was released that it's not
for the pearl clutchers and shewas correct.
This right, right, it is.
So there's so many sexualinnuendos on this album.
But I totally am with you, likeshe's in on the joke and she's
funny.
(09:54):
The album is funny and also Ido think tears is definitely a
standout and that's her secondsingle I saw that.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
I saw that she
released a video after I like,
after I'd already listened to itand decided it was my favorite
did you watch the video?
Speaker 1 (10:09):
I did watch the video
.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
It's a reference to
the Rocky Horror Picture Show oh
, okay, I figured there was likesomething like that yeah, it's,
it's not.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
I mean, I don't know
that movie, so I just read that
it was a reference.
But I will say one of thetakeaway.
It's kind of like she's likebasically going into like a
haunted house type of deal andthen there's a bunch of drag
Queens in there.
Coleman Domingo is likebasically guiding her throughout
the house and it's just kind oflike wacky and there's a lot of
different dance breaks.
(10:39):
I will say she lookedphenomenal in that video oh yeah
, she looks.
Great, yeah, she looks greatfor sure.
There's a part where she's kindof in like a lingerie set and
she's dancing on a pole.
She's just doing a lot ofdancing in general and that was
like my takeaway.
I was like, damn, Sabrina, yougo, girl, You're killing it.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
I just felt like I
enjoyed the video.
I thought it was entertaining.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
I just didn't think
it really went with the song.
Yeah, I agree it didn't haveanything to do with the song,
but, yeah, otherwise I thoughtit was fine.
Yeah, yeah, I like my first goaround listening to it.
My mouth just dropped open somany times.
Like the first time I listenedto tears I was like, oh my god,
is this what she's talking about?
Like.
So I almost feel like I kind ofmiss the beat and like all of
that and the production behindit for a lot of the songs the
first go around, because I wasjust looking at the lyrics,
which I do think are like partyou know, probably like my
(11:30):
favorite part of the albumOverall.
My take, though, is that it's alittle underwhelming.
I love yeah, I love short andsweet so much I don't think I
love this album as much.
I also think I hate to say, cause I love Sabrina, but half
the album, I think, is like askip for me.
Like it's very clear to mewhich ones are my favorites and
I kind of feel like, even forthose, I'm just going to burn
(11:51):
through them pretty quick.
Like I feel like I'm going tolisten to them a ton this week,
maybe next week, and I think I'mgoing to kind of be like onto
the next, yeah.
So that's kind of my likeoverall feeling on it.
But the ones that I love agreedwith you.
Tears super catchy.
I also love House Tour.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Oh yeah, I like that
one too.
It's cute.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
House Tour is so
funny.
I feel like I'm in like an 80saerobics class, like when I
heard it.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah, I like how like
did.
Did you notice like on Spotifythe little videos playing?
It's like shot in like a?
It looks like it was shot likethe 70s, oh cool no yeah, like
the album cover is like that, but you don't really pick it up
as much with the album cover.
But yeah, like it, like theymade it look like it was like an
old camera very cute even inthat song when she says never
(12:42):
enter through the back door.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
I was like Sabrina
girl and then I also love go go
juice.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Oh yeah, is that when
she's like I'm getting drunk
and like no one's safe?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that one'sfunny.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
It's like when she's
like sipping on my cocoa juice.
I think it's so fun to singthat one's hilarious.
Hilarious Also on.
That one is so funny because, like at the end of it it's she's
kind of doing like theba-da-da-da-da and it's getting
progressively more drunksounding and she like she's like
, should we hook sup?
I'm like I just love it.
(13:17):
It's so funny.
Oh, I didn't even notice that.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Yeah, I like.
Well, the other one I like wassugar, something sugar talking
that one.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
That one was okay.
That's not.
That didn't blow me away.
I think I wrote about it likeit was fine oh also, oh also,
nobody's son.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
So like that one,
it's like saying how like he has
such a bad mom because it'slike such a bad kid and like as
a mom with two boys I was atfirst my first reaction is like
that's spot on, it is themother's fault If the son is
like mean to women, like that's,that's a bad mother.
But then a few minutes later Iwas like wait a second though.
Where's like the, the dad'saccountability and all this like
(13:59):
if anything.
I feel like boys mirror howtheir dad treats their mom
rather than like what their momtells them, how their mom tells
them to treat women yeah, yeah,no, that's a great call.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Yeah, where's the dad
?
Right, like I never.
I never thought of that.
Yeah, but I feel like it's morejust about the boy, because
she's just like but yeah, Itotally hear what you're saying,
like it's just one of thosegender role things that like
sneaks by you.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
It's like the wheels
on the bus thing, yeah.
So the dads say I love you andthe moms say shh yeah any.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
I'm sure parents out
there know this.
The wheels on the bus, theversion, whatever it is on
YouTube or like the main version, it's all of them.
Yeah, it's all of them, it goes.
The wheels on the bus.
It's like the mommy's on thebus go and the daddy's on the
bus because I love you.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Yeah, like, and they
give a hug.
It's like what the hell?
I feel like that's because theyadded the daddy's later.
Yeah, true, but still can we,but still like, the dad should
have been on there the wholetime, like the mom's not the
only one that takes her kids onthe bus.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Dads are on the bus.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Yeah, like where's
the dad?
Speaker 1 (15:03):
No, totally that's.
If that's totally fair, take onnobody's son.
What did you think of the one?
I loved this one too.
This might be my fourthfavorite.
When did you get hot?
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Oh yeah, I liked that
one too.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
That was cute.
That one was really cute.
And who is Devin?
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Can someone look into
who Devin is?
I know, oh yeah, so that's theother thing, isn't this whole
album?
Speaker 1 (15:23):
supposed to be kind
of like a breakup album.
Definitely, definitely.
Who's it about?
I think it's Barry Keegan.
Who's that?
Let me see, that was herboyfriend last year.
They were together like whenshe was touring the Short and
Sweet album, oh yeah.
Oh yeah, he'll he'll, he'sgross.
Sorry they were, and she saidthat she started writing this
like right, basically rightafter short and sweet was
(15:44):
released, cause she was goingthrough a lot.
So it seems like a lot of thisalbum, like we almost broke up
again.
Nobody's son never getting laidAll of those my man on his
willpower is about.
It seems to be that it's abouttheir relationship.
My man on his willpower is aboutit seems to be that it's about
their relationship.
There was one part that alludesto that is in the song go go
juice.
There's something about, likeshe talks about calling up
(16:05):
either Larry John or the onethat rhymes with villain, and
people are thinking it's a rhymescheme Larry AKA being Barry
John, aka being Sean Mendez, because they were rumored to be
together, and then villain beingDylan O'Brien because they were
also rumored to be together.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
I thought I caught
that.
I was like, I feel like thatmeans something.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Yeah, I didn't know
what.
The only other one that Iwanted to say something about
was the song Goodbye.
Oh yeah, I like how she saysall the different languages me
too and I like the end, whenshe's like she says something
like on the flip side, cheerio, and then she's like, yeah me and
more wait, no, yeah, that isthe only one on the album like,
(16:46):
solely written by jack antanoffoh really, yeah, not her,
because I was actually looking,so she didn't write that one no,
that's the only one.
Well, yeah, yeah, when I wasreading, when I was looking on
Apple Music, that's the only onethat's credited.
Written by Jack Antonoff, justhim.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Oh, interesting.
Yeah, that's good writing.
I did notice that Jack Antonoffproduced all of them.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Yeah, I guess it was
him, and then two other people
that also were on Short andSweet, amy Allen and John Ryan,
who I don't know, but they werebig on the last album.
They also said that this onesounds a little different than
Short and Sweet because I guessJack Antonoff brought in the
band members from Bleachers andthey did a lot of like just live
playing in the studio when theywere recording.
(17:31):
So they want it to sound likealmost like a live album, which,
yeah, I thought that was like alittle fun fact.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
I didn't totally pick
that up, but I don't know
something about.
It just seems to me like I keeppicturing, like in the Barbie
movie, you know when they allcome out and like dance to the
Dua Lipa song.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Like I just feel like
that's going to happen with
like this, like line of womenlike doing some, like dance and
all singing at the same time.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Yeah, well, so maybe
we should well.
What are then like your topthree?
Speaker 2 (18:05):
I mean it's hard.
I feel like this is still likeearly, like it's hard for me to
review an album so quickly.
But probably tears sugartalking.
Well, actually I like go-gojuice and house tour too, and I
do like when.
But probably Tears SugarTalking Well, actually I like Go
Go Juice and House Tour too,and I do like when.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
Did you Get Hot?
That's fair.
That's a top five.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
I think that was four
.
But yeah, House Tour Go GoJuice, Sugar Talking Tears.
And when Did you Get Hot?
Oh yeah, and when Did you GetHot?
Yeah, that's my fifth.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
I think honestly,
that's like pretty much mine too
.
I think Tears Besides SugarTalking, that one's not in my
top five.
But Tears Go, Go, Juice.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
House Tour.
When Did you Get Hot?
And I think Never Getting Laid.
Yeah, I see I feel like her.
She's a very much like aplaylist, like song artist, not
like a like.
I'll listen to her songs ifthey're like on a playlist, but
I'm not going to like listen toher album start to finish very
often.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Yeah, I, I totally
hear that.
I mean I definitely waslistening to short and sweet a
lot like the full album.
I don't think I probably willon this one, but I I do love
house tour.
I love singing that one in thecar.
I love singing go-go juice inthe car and tears.
(19:21):
So I feel like those.
And when did you get hot?
So I think those four are likegoing to be in my rotation.
But I mean half the album is iskind of like a whatever for me.
I never listened to I mean it'sonly been out for a few days
but I was listening to it a lotthis weekend like in my car and
I skip.
Don't worry, I'll make youworry.
That one's like whatever Idon't really listen to.
Nobody's Son I don't listen to.
We Almost Broke Up.
Sugar Talking my man on HisWillpower is I could take that
(19:43):
one.
Yeah, that one's okay, it'sokay.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
That one's okay, but
yeah, yeah, I mean, it's crazy,
it's only 12 songs.
I feel like the first time Ilistened to it I was like whoa,
that's quick and that's going tobe Taylor's album, so we should
prepare ourselves for that.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
I know that's true,
it's only it's less than 40
minutes the full album.
I know.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Yeah, I feel like I
like flew through it and I was
like whoa it's already over.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
I don't want my first
impression of life as a
showgirl to think it's short, sopreparing myself now.
Yeah, I'm gonna be short, swifties get ready, but it's
going to be gold, you know it.
Should we go to the summer, Iturn pretty.
Yeah, let's do it, let's do it.
I mean I can start.
I think this episode for me isthe episode that belly's getting
called out, and I'm here forthat.
I've been waiting for people tolike call out belly's behavior
because I feel like a good point.
No one does and everyone didthis episode.
I mean in some form, likeconrad in the beginning, jare,
(20:41):
even taylor, taylor, yep.
I think the part of the episodethat I was most pissed is when
taylor said to belly on herwedding day like I don't think
you should do this.
And then belly just like lashesout at her and says like I
wouldn't, take advice from you.
Blah blah.
I was like belly, like yeah, don't care, you should do this.
And then, belly, just like, lashes out at her and says like
I wouldn't take advice from you.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Blah, blah, blah, I
was like belly, like yeah, don't
get on.
It's been the best friend, Evenlike Chris noticed that.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
Yes, taylor's such a
real one.
She's always there for bellyand I saw some takes online
where people were like whyTaylor say that on her wedding
day?
Let's not forget, at this pointthe ceremony is happening in
like an hour and Jarrah Jeremiahis nowhere to be found, so I
don't think it's that crazy thatTaylor's like hey, this might
(21:24):
not be the best choice right now, like clearly you guys have
problems.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
I feel like that's
being a good friend, cause
that's like the harder route1000%.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
So I was so mad when
belly went off on taylor just
because I I stand taylor.
But then I was so happy when, when steven came in and like
defended taylor too and he yeahhe also called out belly.
So yeah, he did too props tosteven.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
She got what she
deserved.
But my I was like, while I waswatching was like I feel like my
overall reaction is going to bethe same, which is Belly's a
bitch and Taylor's like the bestfriend ever Yep, staying on
track, and like I was getting somad that she was like getting
so mad at Conrad.
It's like, oh, I know, like Idon't know, like I mean, I guess
(22:10):
like he shouldn't have beenlike professing his love for his
brother's fiance or whateverright before their wedding, but
like, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
I feel like we're
past that point well, and I like
, when he called her out because, yeah, she was getting so mad,
she's like you're heartless,you're sick, you're playing with
people's emotions and he's likeyou're heartless.
Like I said this because Icould tell she could.
He could tell that she wasfeeling it too.
She is not little miss innocent.
In that bathroom when he hadthat cut she was clearly vibing
(22:39):
with him.
That was not in his mind.
So I was so happy that he stoodup for himself a little bit.
And then also too, like whenjare, when her and jare break up
and he tells her about the youknow the christmas, oh, he found
out, yeah, right, right.
And she was like oh, that's whyyou picked a fight with me and
that's why you cheated.
It's like no belly.
(23:00):
You lied like can, yeah, canyou take some accountability
once for this?
Like this is on you.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
You know, I can't
believe jeremiah never brought
it up to her.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
I know, and I think
this leads to like my second big
takeaway, which I think it'snot even a takeaway, everyone
feels this way.
But like, regardless of how youfeel about Conrad, it's so
obvious that Belle Belle and Jershouldn't a be getting married
but maybe shouldn't even betogether.
Yeah, the fact that he knewabout the cheating or whatever
(23:33):
knew that belly lied immediately, cheats on her to get back at
her, and then never, they, theyboth never bring it up and then
he just like proposes to her.
It's so clear to me that hejust proposed to her because,
like, partly, he just doesn'twant Conrad to have her, like he
just wants to beat Conrad, youknow what I mean.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Yeah, I mean I was
kind of proud of Jeremiah for
breaking up with her, like andthat's the thing he's not like a
bad guy.
Like I could see him beinggreat with like another girl,
you know what I mean.
Like I think he could findanother girl and be like a great
boyfriend to her.
Totally.
I just think it's like them.
That doesn't work as well.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
But I don't know.
I like Jeremiah and you knowthe fact that, like a few
episodes ago, they're trying tomove into a place he has shit
credit, she, you know he justdoesn't get it.
He's in like la la land andthen like when he drops on her
at the rehearsal dinner thathe's taking a new job and like
finishing school online withouttalking to her.
Yeah, that's true, that'sannoying.
(24:27):
It's like what are you Come?
Oh, like Conrad was the onethat got Susanna's ring for
belly, not Jeremiah.
Oh yeah, Like there's so many, they shouldn't be getting
married, you know.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Yeah, no, I know, but
yeah, it's like I would like to
see him with someone else, butI think he needs someone more
shallow, yeah, if.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
I'm being honest, I
know I mean I did feel bad for
him that.
The fact that like the minuteshe told him that conrad
confessed his love, that he waslike, okay, so are you leaving
me for him?
Like he clearly there's likehe's so insecure about, yeah, I
felt, yeah, I felt bad aboutthat.
But like, don't just bail onyour wedding day I know, I know
(25:10):
well.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
That's why it's like
they shouldn't be getting
married.
They're too young, and like hewants to be able to sign up for
a job and not have to like tellhis significant other as like
you should be when you're like21 or whatever.
They are right.
So I feel like he's likerealizing like whoa, maybe we
shouldn't be doing this too.
But I think we're like prettymuch.
I I actually googled like whathappened at the end of the book
(25:32):
because it was bothering me.
I was like is this?
When the book ended, I don'tremember, and I think it like
kind of is I think like afterthis she does study abroad, and
I remember this, like her andconrad don't get together till
the epilogue yeah, well, but II'm pretty sure that they've
said that this show is notnecessarily going to follow the
book.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
So, yeah, well, it's
seeming like it could right now.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, we'llsee.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
She's gonna be in
paris next episode, so oh, I
can't wait to see paris, but Ihope belly doesn't annoy me in
paris, I know I know same ofcourse there had to be like a
big um airport scene at the endokay, but can we just?
Speaker 1 (26:12):
I like I didn't love
that because because, even
though all of it is sofar-fetched, like this is almost
I feel like almost annoyed atmyself for saying this comment,
because, like, who cares?
But I just hate that like shehappens to be at the gate next
to him, like, first off, oh, Iknow, I know, I know, we know
Logan Airport, there are it's aninternational terminal, like
(26:34):
they would would not, thatwouldn't happen.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
I just was so like,
oh, it's too convenient, you
know, yeah, and he's going liketo the west coast like there's
yeah, they wouldn't be in thesame terminal no, like, let
alone in the gate next to eachother, like yeah, whatever.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
But I mean I get it.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
You just kind of have
to do it for the storyline one
other comment, though, I willsay I loved how they kind of
like ended.
They like nipped the bud withsteven and what's that girl's
name?
Denise, denise.
Yeah, like how they.
I kind of liked the way theylike ended it a little bit with
them, like they kissed and theywere both just like.
I feel like that wasn't reallygood.
Yeah, and now he knows for sure.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Now he knows.
I kind of thought I was Iwonder like why they really even
did that, because it felt likekind of a random storyline.
But I agreed, Like I feel likeit helps set up for the fact
that, like also Taylor knows, because Taylor's, I feel like
Taylor was the one pushingSteven away and then she saw him
with Denise and like I feellike it was good that she could
finally say like I wasn't happywith that.
So, yeah, it seems like it'skind of setting up for them to
(27:35):
like get back together, realizetheir true feelings.
And I like Denise, I don't hatethat character.
Same Right, so they'll keep heraround.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Yeah, and like now,
her and Steven are going to go
do their business.
I wouldn't be surprised if,like this next episode or at
some point, it's like flash fortwo years.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
Oh, that's a good
call.
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprisedby that either.
Yeah, I had a couple of otherthoughts, like though random,
that I wanted to run by you.
I'm curious what you think.
You know what I was thinkingabout.
Well, like in terms of, likethe friend remember Conrad's
friend from the first fewepisodes that like redheaded
girl oh yeah, what happened toher?
Is she a doctor girl?
Yeah, yeah, what happened toher?
(28:13):
She's just gone.
Like I'm okay with it I'm okaywith it, but just kind of like a
random, yeah, character to have.
The other thing I knew that youwould feel the same way too the
fact that belly didn't know howshe was going to wear her hair
on her wedding day until like mygod two hours before yeah, it's
like come.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
That's not how
weddings work.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
I was so weird and
right.
No one's like that, no one'slike that and no one's getting
ready like by themselves, liketrying to pin their hair back.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
That was the other
thing I was like why aren't you
guys like getting ready togetherand then they're like seeing
each other, the bride and thegroom, like before?
Speaker 1 (28:51):
It was just weird, it
was just weird, but I did like
Belly's like wedding day, lookwhen her and Jeremiah break up.
I thought she looked.
It was very simple but Ithought it was so pretty.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Yeah, I liked her
dress.
I didn't love her rehearsaldinner dress, that like drop
waist one, but I it was okay.
I liked the wedding one.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
I agree, I like the
wedding more than the rehearsal
dinner.
But damn, conrad looked so goodat the rehearsal.
I know dinner, but damn, conradlooked so good at the rehearsal
.
I know he's so like tan, oh,he's so cute, oh my gosh.
And like the part when she'slike.
She says like I haven't lookedover his way but I know where he
is at all times.
Everyone like knows thatfeeling, you know and you're
just like yeah like so hyperaware of somebody in a room yeah
(29:32):
, but what were the songs?
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Oh, with or Without
you, that was like a perfect
song.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
With or.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
Without you.
So good yeah.
I was like, this is like spoton them.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
So good.
I also really liked they had aslower version of Friday.
I'm in.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Love.
Oh yeah, yeah, that was cool.
It was really pretty.
That was the girl that was ontour with Taylor.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Phoebe Bridgers.
Yeah, so good.
I think they also had SkinnyLove, which, oh, I fucking love
Skinny Love, I love that song.
Yeah, it was really good.
But what do you think ofCardigan as the song choice for
the end?
I thought it was okay.
It was kind of weird, a littlerandom, right.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Yeah, I wasn't like I
hate this, I hated Robin, but
it wasn't spot on, like Lommel,a little random.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
A little random, I
agree, but I mean, I'm still
loving this season.
I thought it was a reallyentertaining episode.
I'm really.
I can't wait for the next oneand to see what happens.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
I'm excited for the
next three because I feel like
it's been easy to kind of like, you know, you kind of predict,
could predict what was going tohappen up until this point.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Yeah, I agree.
So yeah, last piece of business, I guess should we announce the
September book club.
Oh, yeah, our book club.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
Yeah, we're going to
do it on 9-26 and we're going to
have Sammy back, our favoritebookworm discussion person, and
we're going to do the Boys ofTommen, the one that Kristen
wants to read.
I cannot wait for this.
Like literally immediatelyafter when we finished, like the
last book club, one texted meand Sammy, sammy, no pressure,
(31:04):
but do you want to come on again?
Like we can pick another book.
I was like I know that she justwants to read this Irish boy in
high school book.
She just can't wait.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
I'm not like this
weird, like just I.
But I will say I've grown alittle bit out of it.
But when I was, you know, maybelike five years ago, I, like
any high school drama, I wasalways no own it.
I feel like that's like nicheto you.
No, thanks, brett.
Yeah Well, so okay, so we're.
That's why we're reading this.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
I'm excited.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
I am too.
The first one of the series isbinding 13.
It's Chloe Walsh is the authorbinding 13 boys of Tom and
series.
Thanks, sammy, for therecommendation.
So excited.
And what was the?
Speaker 2 (31:46):
I definitely
recognize the out like the cover
.
Once I looked it up, I feellike it's.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
I hadn't, I'd never
seen it.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Really no, I guess
you're probably not in the book
circuit as much as me, but yeah,on 9-26.
And then we're going to yeah, maybe we'll give a little Ryder
Cup update, because it's goingto be that weekend.
We're trying to figure out ifwe can get Taylor back on the
pod, so TBD there.
But yeah, that's what we gotcoming.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
And Wednesday we'll
have Bernie's brother on, and
Wednesday we'll have Bernie'sbrother on.
We're going to talk NFL and, yeah, we hope everyone has a
wonderful Labor Day.
