I explain some insights gleaned since researching the topic for many years. I explain some aspects of the Heavy Metal Music History, Rave Scene History, and My experiences in the many music scene podcasts. This episode focuses on the history of drugs and how addiction, distribution and selective prosecution are used as a control structure to maintain the power structure. Drugs are a weapon. This is an addendum. Opium—once the soothing balm of ancient priests—became the cudgel of empire. The British East India Company, that sinister forerunner of the modern multinational corporation, grew poppies in India and flooded China with opium, creating a dependency so vast it sparked two full-blown wars. These were not the “Opium Wars” of textbooks; these were narcotic invasions. The Qing Dynasty, desperate to stop the flow of addiction, banned the drug. Britain, that torchbearer of liberty (or so it claimed), responded by sending gunboats. The result? A humiliated China, the seizure of Hong Kong, and the modern drug underworld's colonial blueprint: weaponize addiction, reap the profits, and if anyone resists, call it “free trade.” But opium’s reach was not just geopolitical. It touched the very cultural fabric of the West. Writers like Thomas De Quincey and Samuel Taylor Coleridge penned their masterworks under its influence. The dual image of the drug—one of poetic genius, the other of slavish addiction—continues to haunt Western narratives. This schizophrenic view (sacred vs. sinful, inspiration vs. illness) is not an accident. It is the managed dialectic of power: seduce and stigmatize, in equal measure. #drug #drugs #sober #christian #gentleman #life #learn #educate #education #make #love #mimimal #family #injury #healing #truth #truther #maha #repair #skill #fix #canada #usa #america #cia #intelligence #agencies #agency #king #england #crown #police #attorney #lawyer #government
