This week on Sofie's Choice, the team explores an urban legend all the way from Virginia. Without Gabbi this week, Sofie, Mike, and guest star Leighton hear the tale of a man locals would come to call: Bunny Man. Prepare yourselves for allll the rabbit puns and songs your ears can handle, it's hard to take this one seriously. The Bunny Man originated from two incidents in Fairfax County, Virginia, in 1970, but has been spread throughout the Washington D.C. and Maryland areas. The legend has many variations; most involve a man wearing a rabbit costume who attacks people with an axe or hatchet. However almost all variations of the story include the tale of a couple who was attacked one fateful night in October. On the evening of October 19, 1970, a U.S. Air Force Cadet by the name of Robert (not rabbit) Bennett and his fiancée, who were visiting relatives on Guinea Road in Burke. At around midnight, the couple reportedly parked their car in a field on Guinea Road to do teen things. As they sat in the front seat with the motor running, they noticed something moving outside the vehicle. Moments later, their windshield was smashed by a white-clad figure wearing a bunny suit who had seemingly just thrown a hatchet at the couple. As they drove down the road, they discovered the hatchet on the car floor. When the police requested a description of the man, Bennett insisted he was wearing a white suit with long bunny ears.

As our urban legend stories are usually quite short, and our emails from your listeners is endless, we have included two listener emails as well! Mike reads an email from one of his admirers who tells us about her creepy Valentine. While Leighton re-affirms his fears of hotels by reading us a hilariously written creepy hotel email from listener Hope.
