All right?
Let's talk.
Well, hello.
Hello.
Hello.
Hey friend.
It's a beautiful day here inAtlanta and I'm excited to have

(01:47):
you here with me on Sol Social.
Today's topic is somethingspecial self healing for
healers.
As fellow healers and beings oflight I know many of us struggle
with taking care of ourselves solet's dive into this topic
together.
As much as we help people, Idon't think that we spend enough

(02:10):
time truly working on ourselves.
So let me tell you how this cameup.
During one of my meditationsright after it, I got a download
and I started writing thingsdown.
Have you ever received adownload?
That was just so right on time.

(02:33):
Well, this one truly was for me.
In it i received this list itwas called Seven Habits of
Survivors on the Road toSelf-Healing.
And I was like, okay, cool, cool, cool.
Seven Habits of Survivors on theRoad to Self-Healing.
I recoiled a little bit when Iheard the word survivors, but I

(02:57):
guess we're all surviving fromsomething.
We've all been through things.
Just living, we're survivingbecause it's not an easy thing.
It's a journey.
Let's go through the listtogether and ponder: do these
habits resonate and do weembrace them consistently in our
lives or not?
Number one, self healersprioritize self-care and make

(03:22):
efforts to incorporate self-careinto their daily lives.
Daily.
Number two, self healers make aconscious effort to seek
work-life balance.
Number three, self healers spendquiet, reflective time to focus
on strengthening their mind andreplenishing their soul by

(03:44):
connecting with their higherself.
Number four, self healerscontinuously seek opportunities
to learn new ways to improvetheir situation, whatever it may
be.
Number five, self healers don'ttake themselves too seriously

(04:05):
and they learn how to laughthrough many of their
challenges.
Because if we didn't laugh, we'dbe crying.
Okay?
Number six, self healers seeklight in the middle of the
tunnel, not just the end.
Number seven, self healers savorthe journey and forgive

(04:26):
themselves as they go.
Recognizing that they're notperfect and things may not
always go as they wish theywould.
Ah, would you agree?
The journey of a healer is bothrewarding and challenging.
We strive to find balance whilesupporting others.
Share some of your experiences, how do you manage work life

(04:49):
balance and stay present in themoment?
I'd love to hear yoursuggestions and tips.
Self-care is vital, but it meansdifferent things to different
people.
What does self care mean to you?
Share your favorite self careactivities.
For me, it's about nurturing themind, body and soul.
Mm.
A delicate equilibrium.

(05:10):
I was really feeling this a fewmonths ago.
I can tell you in this moment, Iknow that I'm not healing the
healer.
I know that I am spent, I knowthat I am overextended and not

(05:30):
really prioritizing my selfcare, so, I needed to talk about
this Let's talk about numberseven for a moment.
Savoring the journey.
What's that mean for you?
When I thought about it for me,I realized I really needed to

(05:51):
step back and listen.
Savor the journey.
With my type of healing andgift, I have this extraordinary
vision of the future.
I know in my soul that thingsare gonna be so different in

(06:14):
this world.
I know that a lot of that has todo with people loving themselves
and reigniting the light that'sin them and coming together and
not judging each other, but justloving each other.
All of these things I know, andI see this panacea, the 5D earth

(06:36):
that people talk about, likethis new world, new earth.
I know that it's not gonnahappen tomorrow.
So savoring the journey on theway to that panacea is a
challenge for me sometimesbecause it tests my faith.
It's a reminder to me that Ishould appreciate the baby steps

(07:00):
on the way and be grateful.
Just be grateful.
Be grateful for the visions andthe hope and the optimism.
Be grateful for the people whodo come to me and see this new
light and are energized and haverekindled this love within
themselves.
I should be celebrating thosethings as they go, because this

(07:25):
no small thing.
But there's the little thingsthat I need to savor as well.
A lot of this requires beingpresent in the moment.
It's so important to be present.
And for me, now I am hearingthings, seeing things, feeling
things, knowing things.

(07:47):
I'm on my phone.
I'm trying to plan, I'm tryingto do all these things, so being
present in the moment is hardsometimes.
How about number three?
Number three on this list isself healers spend quiet,
reflective time connecting withtheir higher self.
Do you do that?
I meditate twice a day every dayand if I miss it, I really

(08:11):
notice it.
I meditate in a group as well,so I lead meditation.
I'm finding that that'sdraining.
I can't do that every daybecause it takes away from my
own quiet time to reflect andconnect.
I wanna give, because I feellike it helps people, gives them

(08:32):
a time and a community to cometogether and do it.
But I know that I'm missing myopportunity to heal myself.
Trying to balance that is agreat reminder.
And then the other thing is whenI go into my meditations,

(08:52):
oftentimes I'm anticipating whatI'm gonna hear and what I'm
gonna find out.
So rather than just being quietand breathing.
I'm like, did I hear something?
What's gonna happen?
Did I miss it?
So I'm not really fully presentin meditation sometimes.

(09:12):
I've gotta practice what Ipreach here and work on that for
myself.
I tell people all the time thatmeditation allows you to reset
every day.
You get a, a chance to just hitthe reset button, so you can
breathe a little bit and then goforth and handle your business.

(09:34):
It's really important to dothat.
I'm going to backtrack here fora second and talk about number
two.
Number two on this list is aboutself healers making a conscious
effort to seek work-lifebalance.
I still work a corporate job.
I love my job.
I'm an executive and work onincreasing the footprint of my

(09:59):
organization in the community sothat we can do more good work.
I love that aspect of my job,but at the same time as a
healer.
I have a new Reiki business.
I do spiritual consulting.
I've got this podcast.
I'm an author.
I'm writing books.
There's just a lot going on.
Trying to balance all of that.

(10:22):
I feel like something's gottagive and usually what it is or
what it ends up being is my freetime or my ref, not even the
reflective, because I count mymeditation as part of my work.
I have to meditate, so Ischedule that.
But like fun.
What do I do for fun for me?

(10:46):
Nothing.
Nothing.
I, I feel like with moderntechnology, we are so accessible
all the time and my phone istethered to my hand.
If it's not in my hand, it isvery close by.

(11:06):
I try to set my notifications soI don't hear'em, but sometimes
I'll see the flash and I, Icheck'em.
I've noticed that as soon as Iwake up in the morning, the
first thing I do is grab thephone.
that's just bad hygiene.
I don't need to do that.
I need to shut it off and make aplan for when I check those

(11:29):
things.
Share some of your tips.
I would love to hear some ofyour suggestions how do you
manage the work and theexpectations, especially of the
people that you support.
They want access to you all thetime.
How do you manage that?
Well, listen, let's talk aboutself-care.
That's number one on this list, right?

(11:49):
Self healers make efforts toincorporate self-care into their
daily activities.
Self care when I talk to people,a lot of them think of it as
going to get a pedicure, goingto get a manicure, or getting a
massage, which is one of myfavorite things to do.
But self-care is many things alot of the other things on the

(12:12):
list equate to self-care, likemeditation is a form of
self-care.
What are some of your favoritethings to do for self-care?
When I think of it, I think ofthe mind, body, and soul
combination of things.
You've gotta have a balancethere.
Equilibrium between all of thosethings.

(12:33):
I remember when my daughter wasgrowing up, self-care was time
alone in the house.
I was always very much anintrovert and enjoyed my quiet
time and space, and having ahusband and a small child...
they were always around.
I was never in the house bymyself.

(12:54):
I remember the first time theytook a trip together, they went
out of town to visit his family.
I had the whole house to myselffor the weekend, and it was
Mother's Day.
I will never forget.
I was like, yes, go visit yourmother.
Go visit your mother.
And I'm telling you, it was thebest weekend of my life because

(13:18):
I was home alone.
Happy Mother's Day to me.
Now I've got this deck of cardsit's called The Sacred Self-Care
Oracle.
I'm really into Oracle cards nowand it's pretty cool.
I pick one a day because Irealized that self-care was not
something that I wasprioritizing.

(13:40):
And now this has just been a fewdays, but the card that I picked
out yesterday was watch a movie.
And I was like, you know what?
I'm gonna watch a movie.
I went down into the living roomand I spent time watching a
movie and I have not really donethat in months.
Just kind of take two hours todo something that's not either

(14:04):
related to my business or takingcare of my family just two hours
of time watching a movie.
It was wonderful.
There was a period of time whereI just stopped watching
television.
Before that I had been watchingall the the series and I was up
on all the things, and then itwas actually after I got my

(14:27):
reiki attunement and my worldopened up and I was like, oh
wow, there's so much more tolife than Grey's Anatomy.
I'm definitely making an effort.
I did get my nails done todayand felt really good going out,
getting my nails done.
And I'm heading to Puerto Ricotomorrow for a long weekend, to

(14:49):
unplug all the things and justhave a ball...
dip my toe in the ocean.
I need to recharge my batterywith some nice, fresh salt water
and I can't wait.
Even if I'm just stuck in thehotel room for the whole
weekend, I will be okay as longas I'm sleeping and the phone

(15:10):
isn't buzzing and the laptop isnot, plugged in.
What are you doing for selfcare?
Are you unplugging regularly?
Let's talk about number six...
Self healers seek light in themiddle of the tunnel, not just
the end.

(15:32):
the main message is that peoplespend so much time pursuing
goals They're pursuing the goalsand they're reaching for this
thing that seems so far away.

(15:52):
That's where they're seekinglight.
They're seeking the light at theend of the tunnel, but there are
milestones, there are points intime where we need to celebrate
where we are.
We might be at the midpoint, butcelebrate, be present in the
moment and see the light that'sthere.
That one helps me to communicatewith people that come to me who

(16:16):
feel so broken and they don'tknow what to do, what's next?
And I'm like, it's baby steps.
Baby steps.
So see the light here.
I have an example that I'd liketo share.
I organized a cleanse.
It's a new moon cleanse becausethe new moon offers an
opportunity to reset andmanifest.

(16:38):
The cleanse leads up to the newmoon and a big part of it is
about self care, self healing, taking time for yourself every
day.
It's not strict.
I'm not telling you, you canonly eat this, you can only do
that because people need to haveflexibility.

(17:00):
People need to have ownership.
People need to lead itthemselves so that they can
fully embrace it.
At the end of the cleanse andeven midpoints during the
cleanse, I encourage people tokeep going.
Because no matter what you did,if you fell off the wagon, you
still have an opportunity to getup and start fresh the next day.

(17:22):
If you incorporated anythingfrom that list of things
suggested in this manual, thenyou've done a great job.
You took steps to prioritizeyourself.
All of that to say that thelight in the middle of the
tunnel really just calls backthe point that we can't wait
until we get to that thing sofar away to see the light.

(17:46):
We've gotta embrace it everymoment because there's light in
every step.
And there's light in us.
Because we are light.

And there you have it (17:54):
the Seven Habits of Survivors on the Road
to Self Healing.
Remember self healers, prioritize self care, seek
work-life balance, spendreflective time with their
higher self, continuously seekopportunities to improve, find
humor in challenges, seek lightin the middle of the tunnel, and

(18:15):
savor the journey whileforgiving themselves along the
way.
I challenge you to embrace thesehabits, celebrate your
milestones and let your innerlight guide you as you fortify
your spiritual armor on thisbeautiful journey of healing.
But, you know, the healingjourney is not always smooth and

(18:36):
easy.
I believe that we go through somany things in this life for a
reason.
Many of them are lessons for usto learn, but also opportunities
for us to grow and to help otherpeople learn and grow.
These things that we deal within life, make us closer to each
other so we can understand eachother to emphasize further the

(19:01):
deep connection that we all haveas human beings.
There are so many layers to thishealing journey...
moments of profound, spiritualtransformation that many of us
encounter on our path toenlightenment.
It's a process that spiritualseekers have pondered for
centuries.
One of the things that I reallywould love for us to talk about

(19:26):
soon is the Dark Night of theSoul.
You may have already experiencedthis.
But if you haven't, it's a topicworth diving into.
The dark night of the soul canbe challenging, but it's an
essential part of our healingjourney.
I'd love for us to explore ittogether, to understand its

(19:46):
significance and how it canshape us as healers and beings
of light.
There's some writings by St.
John of the Cross, and it'swritten as a series of poems and
chapters, but it talks about theprocess that spiritual people
essentially go through ingetting to that divine, pure

(20:12):
love.
That love of God, that loveconnection with God and how we
go through things along the way.
I was really feeling tested likemy faith was truly feeling
tested.
I was listening to the Audibleof it and I was like, okay, I

(20:34):
see myself in the transformationfrom the flesh to the spirit.
And it seems very esoteric andhigh level, but I felt some of
it very deeply in my soul.
That's a topic that I would loveto bring back one day and really

(20:56):
chat.
It might be a book club type ofsituation, but the dark night of
the soul is something thatespecially those of us who are
on a path to enlightenment, thatwe have to go through to get to
that light.
That too is part of embracingand savoring the journey because

(21:19):
it's not always smooth and easy.
And we go through these thingsso that we can continue to help
and heal others.
As we heal ourselves andexperience it, we can feel it.
We can be better healers forother people.
Well on that note.
I thank you so much for joiningme.

(21:41):
I invite you to reach out.
Share your thoughts and suggestfuture topics that you'd like to
explore.
Sol Social is a community wherewe learn and grow together.
Embracing our human journey.
Don't be shy.
We're here to listen and toconnect.
Looking forward to talking toyou again next week.
Take care.

(22:02):
Love you.
