Dr. Makeba (00:00):
Welcome back to
SolSocial with Dr.
Makeba and friends.
I'm Dr.
Makeba, and I'm so happy you'rehere with me today.
We've been exploring some deepconcepts this season, and in
this episode we're bringing in alittle more movement, a little
more fun and a lot more flow.
Today we're talking about whatit means to dance with life.
How shifting your energy canchange everything.
(00:22):
So let's dive in and talk abouthow to move with life instead of
resisting it, we're talkingabout how to flow with life, how
to stop resisting and startmoving with the natural rhythms
of the universe.
Life is always moving, right?
And it's true, but the questionis, are you moving with it or
are you resisting the flow?
(00:44):
When we resist, we get stuck.
Our energy becomes stagnant andit feels like nothing is
working.
We feel frustrated, overwhelmed, and disconnected from ourselves
and the world around us, butwhen we dance with life.
We open ourselves up to thepossibility, we step into the
natural rhythm of the universeand things start to align in
(01:04):
ways we could never imagine.
I know it sounds poetic, butit's true.
And today we're going to exploresome ways you can shift your
energy to get back into thatflow and start dancing with life
instead of fighting against it.
Alright, as usual, I have a fewtools for you.
Tool number one, shake off thestagnation.
(01:25):
Let's start with somethingsimple but powerful.
Sometimes when we feel stuck,it's not that we don't know what
to do, it's that our energy istrapped and we need to move it.
So here's a practice.
I want you to try.
Find a quiet space, put on asong you love and just move.
It doesn't matter how you move, there are no rules, no
(01:48):
expectations.
Just let your body lead.
Maybe it's dancing, maybe it'sshaking.
Maybe it's just swaying side toside.
The point is to let your bodyrelease any tension, any stuck
energy, and allow yourself tofeel free.
You'd be amazed at how muchclarity can come from simply
moving your body.
(02:09):
It helps you shift out of yourmind and into your heart into
the present moment.
When we stop trying to think ourway through problems and start
moving, we create.
Space for new ideas andsolutions to come through.
Tool number two, find yourrhythm.
The next tool is about findingyour personal rhythm.
We all have a unique energy, arhythm that feels natural to us,
(02:33):
but in today's fast-paced world,we often get out of sync with
our own rhythm because we'retrying to keep up with everyone
else's.
Take a moment to think aboutthis.
When do you feel the mostinflow?
Is it in the mornings whenyou're just starting your day,
or maybe it's in the eveningwhen things are quieting down?
(02:54):
Maybe it's when you're outdoorsor when you're deep into a
creative project, whatever itis.
I want you to start noticingthese moments when you feel that
sense of ease, like everythingis flowing effortlessly.
That's your rhythm, and the moreyou can tune into that, the more
you can design your life aroundit.
(03:17):
So the next time you're feelingstuck, ask yourself, am I trying
to force myself into a rhythmthat's not mine?
If so, step back and find yourown beat.
Trust that your rhythm isexactly what the world needs.
Tool number three, embracechange as part of the dance.
Here's the thing about Dancingwith Life.
(03:37):
It's not just about feeling goodall the time.
Sometimes life throws unexpectedchanges our way, and that can
make us feel off balance.
But what if we could embracethose changes as part of the
dance When change comes, insteadof resisting it, ask yourself,
how can I move with this?
Maybe that means adjusting yourplans.
(04:00):
Maybe that means letting go ofexpectations.
Or maybe it simply meanssurrendering to what's
happening.
When we see change as part ofthe rhythm instead of something
that disrupts it, we can findpeace.
Even in the chaos, life is goingto change.
It's inevitable.
(04:21):
But when we learn to move withit, instead of against it, we
become more resilient.
More flexible and ultimatelymore in tune with ourselves and
with the world.
Tool.
Number four, celebrate smallwins.
Okay, I wanna talk aboutcelebration.
One of the best ways to dancewith life is to celebrate the
small wins along the way.
(04:43):
So often we get caught up in thebig picture, the end goal, and,
and we forget to appreciate thesteps we've taken to get there.
Here's a little exercise foryou.
At the end of each day, take amoment to reflect on what went
well.
It doesn't have to be a big, major achievement.
Maybe you had a greatconversation, maybe you finished
(05:04):
a task that's been on your listfor a a minute, or simply took
some time for yourself.
That's a big win.
Whatever it is, celebrate it,write it down, acknowledge it,
and let yourself feel proud.
When we celebrate the smallwins, we create more joy, more
gratitude, and more momentum inour lives.
(05:28):
It's like adding fuel to thefire.
It keeps us going.
It reminds us that we're alwaysmaking progress.
So as we wrap up today'sepisode, I want you to remember
life is always moving and youhave the power to move with it.
Whether it's shaking offstagnant energy, finding your
own rhythm.
Embracing change or celebratingthe small wins.
(05:51):
These are all ways you can startdancing with life.
When you stop resisting andstart flowing, everything feels
lighter and more aligned, andthat's when the magic happens.
Let yourself flow with life'snatural rhythm.
Trusting that it'll carry youexactly where you need to go.
