Dr. Makeba (00:00):
Welcome back to SolSocial with Dr.

(00:01):
Makeba and friends.
I'm Dr.
Makeba, and today we're divinginto something that's so
important for all of us,especially when life feels
uncertain, how to trust yourpath.
Sometimes we wanna see everystep laid out in front of us
before we move forward, but thetruth is we don't always get
that luxury, and that's okay.

(00:23):
This episode is about learningto trust the process, trust
yourself, and know that theuniverse has your back even when
you can't see the whole picture.
So let's explore what it meansto keep walking your path one
step at a time.
We're talking about surrender, about trusting your path and
letting go of the need tocontrol every step, allowing

(00:45):
life to unfold as it should.
We've all been there feelinglike we're standing at a
crossroads, unsure of whichdirection to take.
Maybe you've been working hardtoward a goal, but haven't seen
the results you were hoping for.
Maybe you're facing a bigdecision and you're unsure if
it's the right one.

(01:06):
The thing is, life doesn't comewith a map.
There are no guarantees, noclear path that says this is
exactly where you need to go.
But that doesn't mean you'relost.
Sometimes not knowing is part ofthe process.
You don't have to see the entirepath to trust that you're on the

(01:27):
right one.
It's about taking one step at atime, listening to your
intuition, and trusting thateverything is unfolding in the
way that it's meant to.
So today, let's talk about howwe can build that trust and move
forward with confidence.
Tool number one, start with onestep.

(01:48):
When we think about trusting ourpath, it's easy to get
overwhelmed by the big picture, where we wanna end up, how we're
gonna get there, all theobstacles in between.
But here's the key.
You don't have to figure it allout right now.
All you need to do is take onestep, ask yourself, what's one

(02:09):
small action I can take thataligns with where I wanna go?
It doesn't have to be a majorleap.
It could be as simple as sendingan email, making a phone call,
or spending 10 minutes onsomething you've been putting
off.
That's one step.
No matter how small, it's stillprogress and each step you take

(02:33):
builds momentum.
The path reveals itself as youwalk it.
So don't worry about seeing thewhole journey right now.
Just focus on that next step.
When you're on the lighted path, which you get to by listening
and flowing, things unfold foryou in ways that you could never

(02:58):
imagine.
And so you don't have to overplan.
You don't have to know.
Just go with the flow.
So tool number two is trust yourinner compass.
We all have something inside usthat acts as our inner compass,
our intuition, that quiet voicethat guides us even when the
outside world feels chaotic.

(03:21):
But here's the thing, trustingyour path starts with trusting
yourself.
Your intuition knows the way, even when your mind doesn't.
It's that feeling in your gutthat tells you to move forward
or hold back that nudge thatsays, this is right for me, or
something feels off.
So how do we trust it?

(03:42):
Start by getting quiet.
Spend time each day tuning in,whether it's through meditation,
journaling, or simply sitting insilence.
Ask yourself, what do I feelcalled to do?
And then listen.
Don't overthink it.
Trust that the answer is alreadywithin you because it is.

(04:02):
When you start following thatinner compass, you'll find that
things begin to fall into placeoften in ways you didn't expect.
It's so fun.
It's so exciting.
Yes, just surrender tool numberthree.
Release the need to control theoutcome.
One of the hardest parts oftrusting your path is letting go

(04:24):
of the need to control theoutcome.
We want things to go a certainway.
We want certainty, guarantees, and a clear destination.
But the truth is, the magicoften happens in the unknown.
I want you to try this The nexttime you find yourself obsessing
over how something will turnout, take a step back and say, I

(04:45):
trust that everything is workingout for my highest good, even if
I can't see it right now.
Release and control doesn't meanyou stop caring or taking
action.
It simply means you trust thatthe universe, that God has a
plan for you and it's unfoldingin the perfect way.
Sometimes things don't go theway we plan because something

(05:07):
better is waiting for us.
So loosen your grip and trustthat the journey is taking you
exactly where you need to be.
I am gonna repeat that sometimesthings don't go the way we
planned because something betteris waiting for us.
Loosen your grip.

(05:29):
Trust that the journey is takingyou exactly where you need to
be.
Tool number four, embraceuncertainty.
Let's talk about uncertainty.
It is uncomfortable, right?
Not knowing what's coming nextcan make us feel anxious or
restless, but here's somethingto consider.
Uncertainty is where growthhappens.

(05:50):
It's in the spaces where wedon't have all the answers that
we learn the most aboutourselves.
When we embrace uncertainty, weopen ourselves up to
possibilities that we couldn'tsee before.
So instead of resisting it, tryleaning into it.
Ask yourself, what can I learnfrom this moment of not knowing?
Or how can I grow from thisexperience?

(06:12):
Trusting your path isn't aboutknowing exactly what's ahead.
It's about being open to thejourney wherever it leads.
It's about having faith thateach twist and turn is part of
the bigger picture, even if youcan't see the full canvas yet.
So as we wrap up today'sepisode, I want you to remember
this.
You don't have to see the entirepath to know that you're on the

(06:35):
right one.
Trust the steps you're taking.
Trust the wisdom inside you andtrust that the universe is
guiding you to where you need tobe.
It's not about having all theanswers.
It's about being willing to takethe journey step by step with
faith and openness.

(06:55):
Surrender to the process knowingthat the universe is guiding you
every step of the way.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
