Estate Planning/Probate/Guardianship Issues

In this week's podcast, "Solving Life's Next Chapter, " we speak to Francisco Sirvent with Keystone Law Firm, Estate Planning Attorney.  Francisco talks about what is Probate and what happens during probate, such as: What happens to our properties or bank accounts?  Does a Will prevent a Probate?  What is a "Letter of Testament"? And does everyone get a copy of your Will?  Staying away from Probate is the BEST because as we hear from Francisco,  once a Probate has been opened, it becomes a public record and anyone can see what the family assets are.  Francisco Explains the process and how to avoid Probate.

Next, Francisco explains, 'What is a Guardianship" and what are the responsibilities for the person who is taking care of the Senior Loved one who needs the Guardianship.  Families with loved ones with Dementia that do not have a trust in place with medical power of attorney will find themselves having to go to the Probate Court as well. 

Lastly, Francisco explains what a Trust will do for your family and loved ones, why they are so important, and who should get one.
