Something I Don't Know

The theme is schemes this episode as the pals inadvertently each table a story about a grift. First up is Big John Birges and the plot to extort a casino with one hell of a bomb threat; and then it's Anna Sorokin, the Russian (or German?) born New York socialite turned hipster Robin Hood.

This week's theme is stars: First the pals look at the life and career of actress Brittany Murphy, as well as the odd circumstances around her tragic death at age 32. Then it's a different type of star as they recount the Travis Walton UFO abduction story of 1975.

The true stories turn a little more personal this week with SIDK's first bonus episode! Join Jordan and Colby as they ask silly questions about each other and reflect on (and laugh about) the various traumas that made them into the type of people that start a podcast.

On this week's (mostly murder free) episode Jordan and Colby start off by learning about Rosalie Silberman Abella, the first Jewish woman and refugee to sit on Canada's supreme court. Then it's the first half of SIDK's first two parter! The pals talk about the Gracie family and how their unshakable belief in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu paved the way for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

It's the very first guest episode! Friend of the pod and longtime history nerd Travis Green sets the bar high with his story on the epic life of warrior poet Harald Hardrada, and how he inadvertently helped shaped Britain as we see it today. In their first ever minisodes the pals discuss milkmen and missing teens, and delve into the densest city in human history.

On this week's episode the pals go viral as they find out about the world's first (virtual) pandemic - and notice some eerie similarities. And then it's off to Italy, where they explore the grim, exasperating details of the Amanda Knox trial and the media attention she unwittingly received. 

On this week's episode Jordan and Colby learn about the inventor of the bra (which is somehow the least interesting thing about her), and then explore the twisted history of the most infamous black metal band of all time.
