Here on Soul Food Podcast Motivational Mondays with Bishop
Joshua. Hi there, may the God of the
Bible bless your life. We have to depend more on God to
count more on God. You cannot forget that when you

(00:23):
first came to Jesus, to the God of the Bible, you do not depend
on people or on things. You depended only on God.
But now people depend more on their skills, qualifications,
they are money or they are toolsand they put faith aside.

(00:52):
In other words, they do not depend on God as before, just
money. I was thinking of David the
shepherd, the pastor. David, when King Saul armored
him, equipped him to fight against Goliath.

(01:17):
So Saul closed him with his armor.
He put his arm on David to fightagainst Goliath.
First Samuel 17 Here on verse 39David fasted his sword to his

(01:39):
armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them.
And David said to Saul, I cannotwalk with these, for I have not
tested them. So David took them.
Who took the arm off? He took the arms given by King

(02:09):
Saul. He took off that arm only to
serve the Lord, to be with the Lord.
In other words, King David said,I would depend on God alone.
What about you depend on God again now that you have skills,

(02:32):
qualifications, educations, certificates depend on God.
King David said I cannot work with this.
And David himself took them off.Remember that he killed a lion.
He killed a bear with his bare hands.

(02:56):
He did not have no sword, no armor, no tooth, but to defend,
to protect the sheep of God, he killed the bear, He killed the
lion. Now before Goliath, he was
giving the arm of King Saul and he took off.

(03:20):
This is time for you to took offyour skills qualifications.
You need them, you need them. You need your money.
You need your. Education, but you need more.
Dear Lord, count on him. There comes a time that we have
to take off our armors, especially if you have tried

(03:43):
again and again to overcome a situation and you couldn't.
The best way or the best place is the altar.
Go to the altar and say, Lord, Itake off the armor and I put my
life in your hands before me andthe Goliath, and you have a
Goliath before me and the Goliath.

(04:05):
You are going to fight my fight because the barrel is not yours,
but the Lord. No matter whatever you are
facing, take off your own armor and depend on God alone.
God bless you. Have a good one.
Bye bye.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
