What if the most powerful prayer you’ll ever pray is also the shortest? We explore how simple, honest words reach God more than polished phrases, drawing on Jesus’ warning against empty repetition and the lived reality of people who pray from hard places—on the streets, in cells, at work, or behind the wheel. The heart of the message is clear: sincerity over eloquence, truth over performance, presence over perfection.
We walk through practical ways to weave prayer into a normal day without special language or settings. Think quiet breaths at your desk, a whispered “guide me” before a meeting, or “clean my mind” while the shower runs. These small, sincere prayers can anchor your focus, steady your reactions, and remind you that help is near. When words are few but the heart is open, prayer becomes a rhythm that meets you where you are and carries you through what you face.

Here on Soul Food Podcast Motivational Mondays with Bishop
Joshua. Hi there Medelo, Jesus bless
your life. Good morning, good afternoon,

(00:22):
good evening. Whatever time you are watching
us right now, today, this short message is about prayer.
When you pray, do not try to impress God with so many, many
words. Many people they say, I don't

(00:46):
know how to pray. I hear pastors, bishops, church
people pray. And As for me, I don't have like
Jesus vocabulary, Christian vocabulary to pray, to talk to
God. First of all, pray is not for

(01:06):
Christians, only for church people.
There are people right now they are living a living hell.
They are in a cracker house. They are on the streets under
the bridge. But 20 people, they open their

(01:26):
mouths with just few words. They say God help me, God if you
exist, Take Me Out of this place.
There are many people in prison. They don't go to church.
They are incarcerated to wait for hours inside of a cell and

(01:50):
they cry out to God and God hearthem.
One day our Lord Jesus Christ says Jesus words.
When you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the written do.

(02:14):
Who will the written? The written were a group of
unbelievers, non Jewish people. They used to go to the open
square and they were very loud with many words, repeating and
repeating and repeating words, but they do not even know what

(02:38):
they were saying, just as I said, for they think that they
will be heard for their many words, many words.
God hears sincerity. When your heart is genuine, is
sincere, is open, and you just say a few words, you can pray

(03:02):
all day long. You don't need to be on your
knees. You don't need to be inside of
the church to pray. You just need to be sincere and
say God, I need you. You are driving, driving.
You just say God help me, my drive, protect me.

(03:24):
You are there working as you areworking.
You have many coworkers around you.
You take that silent moment and in spirit, without open your
mouth, you are praying to God. Even when you are showering, you
can pray. Lord, Lord, Lord.

(03:46):
Clean my life, clean my heart, clean my soul.
I'm able to clean my body, but you can clean my soul, my mind.
So there are many ways to pray. You can pray all day long.
You don't need to use beautiful words, eloquent words.
Try to impress God because the prayer God hears is the prayer

(04:07):
from the heart. I mean the sincere prayer, the
genuine pray. He said for us to do it with all
our heart, all our soul, our strength, all our might.
So don't worry about many prayers, beautiful prayers,
beautiful words, because God hears sincerity.

(04:30):
May the God of the Bible bless all of you.
Tomorrow again we bring another message of faith for you.
God bless you. Bye bye.
