Having to really realize that we are not in control of our lives is probably the hardest thing to do for me. It was because I was someone who wanted to control my life because I wanted everything to work in my favor. However, going through life, I realized it doesn't work like that, and in fact, it wasn't until I relinquished my need to have control that I was truly able to allow myself to control my life. Although that came with painful situations and hard truths, it caused me to embrace my obstacles, process my reactions, learn my lessons, and grow into the woman that I am today.
