In a world where artificial intelligence istaking over, three women dare to use
their own intelligence to take on onefinal episode. Diana, Deborah and Jesse
welcome you to Spark My Interest thepodcast finale. Hold onto your butt.
These women are about to put acork in it, okay, and welcome

(00:27):
back to get ready to spark someinterest. Kids. I don't think so.
I think you sound good, Debra, Diana and Jesse. Spark me,
spark me hard. Remember that timeback in November of twenty twenty two
when I said we were going totake a hot hot second and then we'd

(00:50):
be back with more episodes. Yeah, yeah, I sure the results came
back and that was a lie.Hey, we said after the holidays and
it's after Easter. It's fair. That is absolutely fair. But it has
been more than a little hot second, and we apologize. But from the
amazing opening that Jesse has put togetherfor us via the help of AI,

(01:14):
which is totally something I'm sure wewould have talked a lot about it at
this point. But from that openingyou can tell this is a finale episode
of Spark My Interest. So ifyou are listening to us for the first
time, we are the Ladies ofSpark my Interest podcast. My name is
Diana, I'm Deborah, I'm Jesse, and you're late to the game.
And you are late to the game. Yes, you have one hundred and

(01:37):
eighty episodes to listen to before youget to this one, So we advise
you to do that first and thenend with this one because, as Debora
mentioned, it is an ending.Although if you're looking for a season one,
they don't exist anymore because they werehot garbage. According to Diana,
they weren't hot garbage. Although Ihave a few clips we might bring up
of some key moments that we're nothot garbage. That's fair, that's fair.

(01:59):
Although I think out of all theepisodes that I want to mention,
none of them take place in thefirst thirty episodes. They're not because they're
hot garbage. They're hot garbage.I don't have any of it. Sounds
like, Jesse, might you knowwe've come a long way. We've come
a long way. It's been agreat three and a half year journey.
And I think there's been a fewof you who have written to us to

(02:20):
say like, hey, where areyou? And I've let you know just
via Facebook, Messenger or Twitter, wherever you have reached out to us.
That it is like a full timejob. That's what it gets down to
to do it right, to dothe podcast the justice set it needs.
We want it to sound good,we want to bring good stories. We
want it to be executed properly andproduced properly. And it is. It's
a full time job. And here'sa hot take. We already have full

(02:45):
time jobs. So it got toomuch. But I'm incredibly proud of us
for the three and a half yearsthat we put into it. So we
want to send it off in atrue spark my interest fashion and do it
right. And so that why ithas taken us more than a hot second
to get this finale up into you. And for the listeners, we had

(03:06):
so many avid listeners, and youguys deserve closure to the show. Do
yeah, yeah, sure, Sowe're gonna do those in segments, We're
going to talk about our most memorableepisodes. We're going to talk about all
of you the listeners, some ofour most standout sparkler spots, our most
memorable firesides, and then just ourfavorite story. Overall, we've got one

(03:28):
hundred and eighty different episodes to pullfrom and we want to go over some
of our most memorable stories. Noneof us have brought this up, none
of us know what the other onesare going to say, so I'm kind
of excited. Additionally, I'm anoverachiever and I have a little quiz that
i'd like to start things out with, if you guys don't mind, Oh
a quiz Yessie and I didn't knowwe were gonna get quiz. I was

(03:50):
expecting this. It's just tiny.Let's let's cue some quiz music. Okay.
So, when you have one hundredand eighty episodes to go through,
we have had some good one liners, and so I wanted to pay tribute

(04:12):
to some of those lines here witha little five question quick. Okay,
okay, so question number one.I feel like we're all gonna get this
one. But question number one, what was Diana referring to when she said,
have you seen my tongue and butthole? No? That was the
Fanta pink, isn't it. Yeah? Yeah, that the pinkest pink was

(04:36):
the episode I know it's vanta pink. It's Vanta pink. That is correct.
It was from episode one forty anduh yeah, Diana was referring to
the pink is pink? Which haveyou ever seen her tongue, her butth
hole? So how do you knowit is the pinkest pink if you haven't
seen that. It was a joke, you guys, it was. It

(04:58):
was a good one. Yeah, but we got a lot of good insight
from that. A lot of peoplethought that was very funny, and so
I wanted to call upon it.Good job, good job, one for
one. Question number two? Whatwas Deborah talking about when she said I
can't believe she found a group ofwomen to volunteer for that, let alone

(05:18):
film it. I don't think thereis anything you can entice me with to
do that. One of Jesse's favoriteepisodes. Yeah, I know this one
that's actually on my list of favoriteepisodesh The episode forty four spread the word
about the nonagenarian masturbation icon Betty Dotson. Very good. And I still stand

(05:39):
by that. You can't entice meto join a female circle jerky, you
know, like, I'm just notinto it. Que To number three,
what was Jesse's advice to Diana's storyin episode one fifteen Murder and Gas.
Oh this is the one about thebeavers. Oh, you gotta keep those

(06:00):
beavers wet. Yes, yes,I love that episode because Jesse and I
are truly twelve year old boys andwe cannot stop laughing. They were actual,
real beavers. They were They madeit gross, and I was telling
a good story. Yes, verygood. Question Number four, What was

(06:25):
Jesse describing in episode one oh fourwhen she compared the sounds la la la
la la la la too. Nono no no no no, no,
I remember do you remember this one? No? It was how to tell
the two of you apart by yourvoices. Yes, yes, Diana was

(06:46):
like no no no no no nono, and Debrah no no no no
no no no. Very good.Okay, very good. And then the
last one. In the season threeopening credits, Diana is heard saying,
we have to edumicate ourselves. Whatwas she referring to? It happens in

(07:06):
an episode sixty nine Your math teachers? What that little clip that your math
teachers piss? Yeah, that wasa funny one, Because it was a
funny one. I was telling astory about like some It was one of
those days in high school where youget to meet people from different careers.
And we had a biologist who isdoing these urine samples, and none of

(07:30):
the students wanted to give a urinesample. Yes, so she pulled one
off of like a shelf that shealready had, and she's like, here's
your math teacher. Piss. That'swhat Diana said. But what that is
the episode? But what is Dianareferring to when she says we have to
edumicate ourselves. There's so many episodesin this whole series of podcasting that we

(07:51):
needed to edgemicate ourselves on the reasonwhy you say it is you are talking
about watching the twenty twenty political debates. Oh yeah, yeah, I like
to forget though a hot hums. But that is what you were referring to.
Did somebody say that word Edgie mcgate? Yeah, I, Deborah and

(08:16):
I heard that years ago. I'msomething and we just think it's funny.
Okay, Well, I'm surprised byhow much I actually remembered. Like when
you say, when you kind ofprompt me, I'm like, oh,
yeah, I do remember that,But if you asked me to like list
things off the top of my head, I couldn't do it. But it's
with a little bit of a prompt, I can bring it back. I
can bring it back from the depthsof my podcast memory Soul for sure,

(08:37):
my podcast Soul, my podcast Soul. Yeah, I'm resurrected for this finale.
Well, thank you for you worryingme with that. Yeah, that
was a great nice thank you.Absolutely. Well. You know, we
normally kick things off with a sparkme up and then we go into our
sparkler spots. So we've had somememorable ones on here. Do we want

(09:00):
to go right into that? Absolutely? All right, let's cue the music
then, So who wants to kickus off with a with a standout sparkler
spot? Yeah, I'll do it. Oh, We've had a lot of
great ones, and I think Deb'sgoing to cover a couple of them,
but I pinpointed one. It wasfrom episode seventy eight, You're doing it

(09:26):
for Me. It was published Novemberthirtieth, twenty twenty, and it was
a Sparkler named Mitzi and she wasfrom Oklahoma and she is the one that
called into her family's Zoom for Thanksgivingbecause everyone was doing Thanksgiving fust twenty on
Zoom due to the pandemic, andthey called into they like mistyped in a

(09:50):
number and must have had no passwordsfor some of these family zooms and got
in on a wrong family. Yeah, zoom, I remember that. That's
and those that family just hung upon them. It was just a hang
up, we don't know you.And I found my humor in that one
hundred percent. And then also it'slike, what's wrong with you? Like

(10:11):
why wouldn't you be like, huh, happy Thanksgiving? No, you just
hang up on somebody. Yeah. This was also the episode that had one
of my own personal favorite stories, which was the diat Left Pass from nineteen
fifty nine. Oh, the incidentthat took place in Russia with all the
travelers that were hiking and then ohmy god. Yeah it was a massacre

(10:35):
of everybody there. They're in likea mass grave together and a shit explanation
of like, oh, it wasjust weather related, but really, there's
got to be something else when someone'stongue is removed from their mouth. Yeah,
that was totally fucked up. Yeah, it was also from that episode,
but the Sparkler spot that was hilarious. Mitzi, way to go,
Mitzi, Yeah, good for bringingit. What about you, Jesse?

(10:58):
Well, I have to say topof my list would be Jonathan from Illinois
because he was such a an avidcontributor, Like he didn't get on it
nearly as much as he contributed. He gave us a lot of great ideas,
some of which we'd already covered did, but he was We had pretty
regular correspondence with him when it wasreally positive. He was always really supportive

(11:18):
of the show. And he wasfirst on episode one eighteen, don't put
that out there? And I thinkthis is my favorite story he contributed,
which was about the book does itFart? And yeah it was. It
was like the bit about the manateeshaving a fart pouch for buoyancy. Yeah,
I oh my god, I forgotabout that. But he sent it

(11:39):
right after like we'd all been like, okay, we've had too many,
like you know, bathroom humor jokes, going like no more of that,
and he's like, no, youwill, you will continue. Too good
to pass up. But he wasalso on I think when twenty seven get
to that Equator and one sixty six, don't Lick That, where he mentions
that, uh, Deborah should bethe voice of Louise on Bob's Burker's and

(12:05):
yeah, the Guinness records that willlikely never be broken. Yeah, wow,
flattering, Thank you so much. For that, I was, well,
he's not the only sparkling respond Imentioned my voice, and I feel
bad because I don't have that onelisted. We had somebody right in and
say that they really liked my voice, which, man, what a hug
to the ego? Right the loveit, love it, love it.

(12:28):
I have several Jonathan was obviously onmine. You know, we heard from
him so so often, and honestly, there was a lot of behind the
scenes there. He wrote us almostevery week, so I felt like I
was corresponding with a new best friend. So for at least the last two
years of our our podcast, Iwas like, oh, yeah, you
know anything, what else did hesaid? There was a lot of times
that I just thought, oh God, what am I going to bring to
the pod this week? And Jonathanto the rescue or Turnathan to the rescue.

(12:54):
Some others that did stand out tome was Sarah in Orange County from
episode one thirty six. She talkedabout how she got divorced and remarried and
in a span of eight months, and she was like, yeah, I
don't really recommend that. She madea lot of poor choices in twenty twenty
one, but she said her herbest decision in twenty twenty one, was
listening to our podcast, which Iwas like, way to be, Way
to be. That was that wasreally good. Alicia from Uncut FM in

(13:18):
episode one thirty seven she stood outto me. She was also on the
podcast and she was our sparkler spot, and really what stood out to me
from her as you know sometimes youjust talk to somebody and you're like,
are we best friends? Yeah,That's that's where she like left me.
I was like, wait, Ifeel like if we lived in the same
city, and I think I sayit on the podcast on the next episode

(13:39):
where I'm like, dang. Shewas just so great. She just stood
out as somebody I really wanted tobe BFFs with. So loved that.
I loved her episode, just lovedher as a whole. Ray Ray from
the Yes Egypt She Yes. Shereached out to us on Twitter quite often.
She sent some really great information fromus as well. She wrote in

(14:01):
several times, UH really loved her. She was a sparkler spot. Several
times. Uh she was great. She was really great, always made us
feel really good, always sent usa really good information. Jeeves from Chicago,
He's a he's actually a friend ofours. He stood out. He
was always reaching out to share inour our baseball love, in particular for
the Chicago Cubs, but also correctingour bowling terminology. Uh, he wore

(14:24):
he wars our our swag on abowling league. He was wonderful. Alan
from Denver, I'm a friend him, all my good friend. You know.
The first time he comes up,he's on episode seventy nine, a
draw. H later on in theseason, he does. You know,
it was hurtful to me, butit was pretty great for Jesse. H

(14:46):
that's his favorite host. Has gottabe Jesse. That was That was a
funny little segment about Alan. Healso came to our defense when Corey from
Texas. Uh, she sent usnot so nice email as a sparkler spot,
which which we read proudly. Weread proudly. We were proud of
that. We did, you know, shout out to Corey for really giving

(15:07):
it to us. It said theone where she thought we needed more sex
on the show, more sex,and we weren't. We shouldn't be that
happy on a Monday. Yeah.Yeah, But when it gets down to
it, we have some really goodsparkler spots. YEA one that resonated with
me, Oh, you're number onethat I'm like, Yeah. One that
I'm like, damn, that justmade me feel great was Rebecca from episode

(15:31):
one oh one. She was fromNew Jersey and she had always wanted to
buy a new house and she boughta new house. So she works all
the time, and she was workingfull time and she was getting her house
already in like the late hours ofthe evening. And she said, you
know, she discovered our podcast andwe were keeping her company through it all.

(15:54):
That's right. I remember that.I remember that, yeah, And
I don't know be a part ofsomething that's so memorable for someone like that.
That stood out to me. AndI think there's several of them,
honestly, there's so many that wecould go over, but those are the
ones that I just think, damnthat that was so meaningful and it was

(16:14):
like it kept us going for along time to be like, wow,
these people are reaching out and sayingGod. It made me feel like I
had my good friends for listening tome, which and I'm really cool.
I mean, I kind of wantto mention maybe two other people if we
can, which was Shane Hobbley, who, along with Ashley end of the
pod. They both contributed that singlestory. And your friend Brady, who

(16:37):
was always super supportive. Oh mygod, I love her so much.
She has like Diana's opening memorized,I would see her and she'd be like,
she had it down better than Idid. Yeah, I mean she
was really great. We should havehad her on, damn missed opportunity.
Yeah, well, thank you,Brady. There's a couple of friends of
ours that we were going to haveon that we just couldn't get too.
Marissa. How many times did Imentioned Marissa? Yes, yes, yes,

(16:59):
she had best. She hated thatmissing beat she did, she did,
and our friend Aaron and San Franciscoto so many you guys. We
probably could do a four series episodeon just our Sparkler spots. So thank
you so much for supporting us andfor writing and we It really made our

(17:21):
our It really made the pod.Yeah, it did to show out the
connection with other peoples, for sure. That's something that's the number one thing
we'll probably miss. Yeah, connectingeverybody, definitely. So when you think
about the meat of our podcast,it's the stories that we bring, and
I think there's a lot of standoutstories. Anything that comes to anyone's minds,

(17:41):
I can go first. Yeah.So the ones that really stuck with
me was actually, since we mentionedseason one this is always stuck with me
was when our friend Pinn was on. She was our first guest, but
she brought this color story. Seriously, our first guest, Yes, she
was, Well, I think aboutmy sisters. My sisters were first guests,

(18:02):
so they were kind of like ourpractice was like our first official guest.
Not one drop of blood, that'sright. She covered this great story
in episode twenty four, and maybewe'll play a little clip of it here.
The title is quote not one dropof blood. I like it.
Cattle mysteriously mutilated in Oregon. Oh, I hate this. So this article

(18:25):
is based It's from NPR. It'sbasically about these cattle that mysteriously somehow were
killed. Um, they just showedup dead. This is in like a
sort of Pope dunk area of mof Oregon, and they found these cows
or bulls um completely drained of blood. There are certain part body parts that

(18:47):
were just removed very precisely, andagain there's no blood. This is really
creeping me. It is very creepy. And there when did this take place?
Um? Well the articles from October. So this just happened this yeah,
oh yes, but this is notthe first time it's happened. Oh
yeah, yeah, it's so messedup, so messed up. But yeah,

(19:07):
I remember, and she won.I think it was a clean sweep
for Pen on that one. Yeah, you know what, she is the
only guest in all of the historyof our show that got a clean sweep
four votes. Why you know, because we've had guest win, but she's
the only one who got a unanimouswin. Well, I thought I didn't

(19:27):
realize. Good for Pen. Well, that's something I liked about our show
too. We didn't just give theguest the win because they were absolutely it
was always fair it so yeah,Pen, Yeah, she that I believe
was my favorite story and the lasttime that we did a recap on an
anniversary episode, okay, yeah, because that one resonated with me, that
one. I've always thought back tothat one. Yeah, I did too.

(19:51):
That one was really great. Um, the hungries Man, Do you
guys remember that one? Diana broughtthat one and an episode fifty five Meaty
Earth, Meaty Earth. I can'tget that out of my brain. And
there are times where you know, when you're like, I've got insomnia on
some nights, and that kind ofstory that can haunt me, yea all

(20:11):
the night, three am. I'mlike, thanks, Diana the Hungriest Man.
That was a great story. Itreally was for me. My favorite
story is episode sixty one, theYear of good Fortune. It came out
on August third, twenty twenty, and it was a story from Jesse and

(20:32):
it was the share a Me story. I will never forget it. But
heroes pigeon, yeah, and inFrench, share a me means dear friend.
And it was the little delivery pigeonthat worked during the war in World
War One in October of nineteen eighteen, delivering messages to battalions and saving lives

(20:52):
while doing so while injured. Istill can't believe a little pigeon did that,
and that he has honored. Hewas given many awards, and I
love that little pigeon. Yeah.I loved that one as well. I'm
glad that you mentioned that that wasone of my standouts. I loved the
Titanics who createst unsolved mystery, thefood poisoning one that came from from episode

(21:15):
ninety five, which was really great. That's when we had Nakole and Eddie
on yep. Oh yeah, shewas okay, she was one of my
favorite guests. Yeah, she wasgreat. The Kiss of Life stood out
to me. That was Diana storyfrom episode one twenty one, Fast,
cheap and easy. Mostly the picturedoes it for me. But it was
just such a beautiful story of humanity. But when I really think about,

(21:36):
like my favorite, my standout, which was so hard to do, so
hard to do listening back, itcomes from episode one seventeen, is it
too far? And it was actuallya story that I brought to the podcast
in regards to the K syndrome.Oh yeah, are they saved all those
Jewish people in the holodcaust? Yeah? Oh, that was a great story

(22:02):
that doctor Giovanni boro Romeo, andit was his effort to keep the Nazis
scared of the of a syndrome, the K syndrome, to help keep the
Jewish safe in rome during the hospital. I loved that story. I thought
it was beautiful, It was fantastic, it was, and I feel like

(22:22):
we should definitely mention the series ofepisodes we did regarding the stuff around picture
genetics. Oh, oh my gosh, yes, they were our sponsor for
a while, and we had thatepisode one twenty with Becky where we went
over the results and stuff that waswild, just leading up to it as
a hypochondriact that was wild in somany ways. She was one of my
favorite guests as well. Her voiceis so calming, Like do I have

(22:47):
a crush on Becky because she wasjust so delightful, And I think the
fact that she's so smart but doesn'tact like she's the smartest person in the
room, that's super appealing, Likeshe just she's just stood out and she
was so interesting. Yeah, Iknow you're listening, Becky, because I
know you listen to the show.Yeah you got Debra has a crazy yes

(23:10):
fact true? No. Yeah.So lots of really great stories to the
pod, but I feel like wedid it justice. We talked about some
good ones, Yeah, we didso. With with that, we decided
that we were going to pick amemorable episode, a favorite episode in general,
and m I picked episode ninety eightwater World. It was aired on

(23:33):
April nineteenth, twenty twenty one, actually comes from an episode where we all
just really delivered. This was justa memorable episode overall. For me.
It was when Alan, one ofour sparkler spots picked Jesse as his favorite
host over Deborah. We celebrated NationalGarlic Day. Our sparkler spot had been
a girl named Cammy in New York. She was the neurosurgeon that picked us

(23:56):
as her something light and then yeah, we delivered a doozy of an episode
to her because we were all competingfor a sixer, and Deborah ruined it.
Jesse had given us the ghost shipOctavious. Yeah, it had been
the missing ghost ship that had beentraveling for thirteen years with everybody dead on

(24:19):
on deck. I remember that, and then and then it's just it never
nobody ever got it again. Right, it still just keeps traveling. We
don't know where it is. No, And that was in seventeen seventy five
when they got it. It wascreepy. Deborah had brought us the Tragic
We called it the tragically Ironic Drowning. It was like a recreation department in

(24:41):
New Orleans and they had celebrated notragedies, no drownings in nineteen eighty five.
And then a pool party where fourlifeguards were attending. They had a
drowning at the pool. Oh yeah, oh my god. Yeah, And
then what I had brought, whichwas the Overturn Bridge. Oh yeah,
it was in Scotland. It's thathaunted bridge they the dogs kept jumping.

(25:03):
Yeah, they nicknamed the suicide Bridge. And I didn't take it because of
all the all the animals that weredying, right, but I don't like
that either. But it was justso incredibly creep because it was animals and
humans. And they determined that oneof the reasons was because it's a thin
place. It's the it's a thinline between heaven and Earth. And I

(25:23):
yeah, loved that anyway. That'sthat episode alone was a standout one Episode
ninety eight, if you want togo back and have a listen to it,
that's my personal favorite episode. Wejust really y'all brought our a game
that is a great one. Iloved it. That's a good choice.
Yeah. Every now and then wehad those episodes that we just hit it
out of the park. I feltlike we almost had a sixer, right.

(25:45):
Yeah. Well, my favorite episodewas episode one on one. I've
talked about this before. Cleveland doesNot Rock. Another one where I feel
like all of our stories were reallystrong. Plus my favorite intro was when
you guys read the romance novel excerpts. It was so great, the concept
was. I wanted to see ifthey could tell which one I wrote versus

(26:08):
one that was from a real book. Water lapped the sides of the jolly
boat as Marcello at long last plungedhis iron manhood into my debts. Oh,
I released my grip on the gunwalesand gave into the rocking, the
writhing, and joined in his hypnoticrhythm. My body impulsively arched toward him,

(26:33):
and he licked the rivulets of saltwater from my chest. I pulled
him closer, gripping his black mane, and we could you could, you
could tell. But it was sofunny listening to you squirm while you read
them. Yeah, it was awkward. I think we grabbed something from one
of our openings, me saying bothare revolting. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

(26:57):
But in that one we covered alsothe creepy love letters sent as part
of the marketing campaign for Yeah,oh yeah, yep, and it made
women this sound inferior. Yep.Then we did pilots that's right. Yeah.
And then the other story was theone Debbor brought was the balloon fest

(27:17):
fiasco of nineteen eighty six where theylet off all those balloons and it fell
down over one of the Great lakes. It was raining, yep. And
then Diana brought the one about thelady who got stabbed in the neck with
the arrow. Oh yeah, thatand then they called her backyard right yeah.

(27:37):
But not only that, they becauseshe went in for an MRI or
whatever or X ray they found cancer'stumor and saved her life. Yes,
yeah, double whammy. That justlike turned out to be a blessing.
Yeah, that was a great story, which one one, the arrow story,
did win, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. And that was
also when we covered our first setof stats after our hundred episodes, And
you're going to cover some stats hereat the end of this one, right

(28:00):
am. Well, I think thatjust leaves me, you know, I
had three that stood out to me. Well, one was number forty nine,
rekindling a nightmare. This is Ohthat was spontaneous combustion, isn't it
yep? Oh yeah, oh yeah, the Sender Woman case. I think
that one really affected Ashley our pastguests as well. Absolutely, it had

(28:22):
stemmed from a story my mom hadtold us when we were little and I
was like, how can I totallyrekindle that? And so I brought that
one. I really like that one. That's when Diana talks about murder hornets
as well, and Jesse talks aboutdrunk animals about in the opening, Diana's
like, what's the record for stoneskipping? Jeff had watched It was eighty

(28:47):
eight skips. Yeah, I don'tbelieve who can skip a stone eighty eight
times? I mean you have todo like a high speed camera even count
them. It's crazy one hundred percentone hundred percent slow mo for that,
And I'm like, can you reallycount bold ones at the end? I
guess you can. Uh. Yeah, So that one really stood out to
me. I loved Murder and Gasbecause that beaver talk is just, I

(29:08):
don't know, lapping is contagious, and so Jesse and I cannot stop.
I think we should hear one ofthose jokes them. Then they'd have to
take them on horseback to get themout, and then they could take a
car for a little ways, andthen after that the car couldn't go further
in this other forest area, sothen they'd have to take them out of
the car, put them back onhorseback, and take them and it's like

(29:30):
a whole process because these animals needto be in water and not in direct
sunlight. If they are going tobe in sunlight, they have to be
in water. So it's like thiswhole process. And they're like to keep
those beavers wet. That's thinking too. I should not to even say it.

(29:52):
I was like, okay, putthem in direct sunlight either, beavers
don't like it. You don't wantto see a beaver after a horseback,
right, we're sick people. Ohgood, Oh my god, you guys,

(30:19):
I swear this is an interesting Sothat one really stood out to me.
But I think and this was hard, and honestly, we have one
hundred and eighty episodes. I didn'tlisten to all of them again obviously,
but just kind of picking and choosing. I listened to episode fifty one Bullet
two Bodies, and we opened thatone. Diana opens it with jokes and

(30:45):
the energy from that episode. Ithink we just start out so happy,
because we don't talk about a wholebunch of happy stuff in here. We
just start out really on a high. And it's contagious. It is contagious.
And we talk about the bank robberwho was convicted but never served.
Time. I brought that episode in. Oh yeah, Diana talks about the
accidental death that the couple were likesitting in the attic and they it was

(31:10):
one bullet, two bodies. Theyaccidentally shot themselves together. Yes, that
one. And then Jesse, Idon't you had like the battling museum curators.
They were like, hey, wehave this crazy stuff. What do
you have? That's crazy? Itwas kind of trying to help during COVID.
That was a fun one who wasjust great energy, great energy.

(31:30):
So yeah, it was weird. It's just it stands out to me because
when I listened to it, Iwas like, what a happy group of
gals we are, you know, yeah, happy group of gals. Yeah,
every every now and then we werejoined by a happy group of guys
though her husband on Valentine's Day,and we did assign ourselves a little last
minute project before this episode, andit was to see which story stood out

(31:53):
the most to our husbands. Yeah, did you guys get an immediate answer
from your your guys? I did? I did? Actually, yeah,
okay, I can go first,we've already mentioned it. Jeff was like
immediate, he said, Episode fiftyhe didn't know the episode in Aver had
to look it up, but hesaid episode fifty five. Media Earth Debor
brought it up as well. Itwas the Hungriest Man. Oh ps Tara

(32:19):
Ray, I think is how yousay his name? From seventeen seventy two.
He ate his own weight per day, which was he was skinny,
one hundred pounds a day. Weended up realizing he had helophasia, which
is excessive hunger, which he alsohad a massive stomach. This like the
size of his entire abdomen was reallyall stomach. And then he also had

(32:40):
hypothyroidism and an abundant number of otherthings that doctors just couldn't figure out at
that time frame. But that washis favorite. Yeah, it stands out
for sure. David had two.He immediately he was like, all the
one about the bleeding house the wallsthat led, Oh yeah, yeah,
I brought that one he did.It was about a house in Atlanta in

(33:05):
nineteen eighty seven that came from episodenumber seventy nine, a draw. And
then the other one that he likedwas the Our Last One episode one eighty
and it was about the UFO sightingsover Lake Michigan and I brought that one.
I was like, oh, yeah, I was. I was proud
of him for not saying the Valentine'sDay episodes because they were great episodes.
But yeah, you think I'd belike the one that I was one,

(33:25):
But no, they went they wentdifferent. What about Nathan? Nathan was
the other way. He actually reallyliked his story from the first Valentine's episode
where he was so good a one. Yeah, it was the Strange Life
of Lord Timothy Dexter on episode yesthirty six, dude, that's where your
car is? Yeah, that wasa good one. He delivered it so
well. I was like, gosh, oh yeah, well done the guy

(33:49):
who he was such an idiot,he like tried to fake his own death
to see how many people loved himand great narcissist. Look, yeah,
I want that funeral party. Igot to see Philly. No, those
were great. Those were great. One of the last elements that we kind
of added to our podcast as awhole was our our fireside Fridays. Yep,

(34:09):
we got I think thirty of them. Yeah, did anybody have one
that stood out to them? Oh? Yeah, Jesse, you want to
go first? For me? Itwas Fireside number thirteen, where Deborah was
in that meeting at work and herpencil skirt. I knew you were split
up the back. I need toreveal her bright red underwear. I knew

(34:30):
this was going to be your favorite, and it is one of my favorites
as well as I was like,I can't use it. The best parts
like you're describing, like talking tothe coworkers, like did you notice anything?
Oh yeah, it was well told. Some other well told ones for
me was was Fireside episode eleven. It was our quality summer fun stories.

(34:51):
It aired July first, twenty twentytwo. Deborah talked about the Kansas City
trip that we took in high schoolwhere we posed with the guys car and
then he off and like two secondslater crashed it. Jesse had the bug
repellent in her eyes at that Pioneervillage in Minneapolis and was given a wood
burlap sack to wipe it down.Says it right on that might on the

(35:13):
bottle, do not spray directly inyour And then I had my roller coaster
water ride story with Becky where weswitched shirts Joe yea Becky Joe and we
switched shirts and thought we did ithidden and we did not. The guy
at the top of the ride waslike, he'saw, he got a good
little peep show out of us switchingshirts. There was just a lot of
laughter and uh, a lot ofgood energy. I loved fireside number six,

(35:38):
the biggest, the best prank youever pulled off? Oh, which
always talks the one where Diana talksabout Henry the h off the car wash.
Oh yeah, Jesse has the collegebike story with the balloons. Yeah.
And then the story that I broughtwas about the college Easter egg hunt
though the first annual able ed hunt. That one what got me for this

(36:00):
one is literally and I start totell it, but I can't finish it.
So Diana actually, I mean, she's like the Olympic runner with the
baton. She just takes that storyand runs with it. Made telling about
by our friend Jeff falling off it. It just like comes apart on him

(36:21):
when he tries to do a trick. Oh god, yeah. Yeah.
It's like a cautionary tale. Neversay, watched this and trying to do
something after the age of like ten, Yeah, you're gonna fuck it up
for sure, whenever it is you'redoing. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I loved those. I loved havingBecky on. I thought that one was

(36:42):
really great. She brought some somefun stories as well. I think the
recording of that was like two hours, so I feel like I was the
editor of Champions there and trying toput that down to something a little bit
more by size. Yeah. Yeah, speaking of like super long episodes,
some of the ones with our oddSquad always seemed to run long because we
had such a great time. RyanRanson Ray, we were editing that one

(37:05):
and being like, I want tokeep it all, but my god,
it's so long. Well, they'rejust so funny to keep a weird gals.
That one went round pretty long too, But that was great. That
was a fun episode. Two actuallyand Lauren, Yes, yes, they
plus the bonus episode they were onthat we did for Halloween a week story.
Yeah. Florida, man, Imean when we had we had Wayne
on, we also had josh on. They were on the couple times.
Oh yeah, and we had Christineon from my worst state. Yeah.

(37:28):
She was a great shed a greatstory as well. Choreography, Yeah,
it was like choreomania. People inhistory who like killed themselves dancing to death,
dancing till you die. Yeah,we had we really did. We
truly truly did too hard to picka favorite. You can't pick a favorite
guest, and that's why that's notone of our topics here. Yeah,

(37:52):
who's your favorite? Yeah? Thirtyone guests? Oh yeah, they're okay,
Yeah, it was under the stats. Yeah. So okay, just
starting the guests, we had thirtyone guests totally, and we had six
of them who repeated. Three ofthem were the We're Our Husbands. They
were on three Valentine's episodes. Ye. And then we had Ashley Cassidy and
Lauren Ogle from Keep It Weird podcastswere on there twice for the Halloween episode

(38:15):
and the bonus So the bonus Halloweenepisode, that's right. And then there
was Jess who was on there twicewith the hashtag Tech Theater podcast and take
Me to Coffee podcast. She yeah, that's right, she had two podcasts,
that's right, and she was funny. I like these fun facts,
keep them coming. Okay, solet me take a look at the remaining

(38:37):
stats here. So, um,out of our thirty one guests, only
eight of them one the episode.Oh my god, we are like we
were, we were toughs, likewe're realistic. To keep it real.
We were fair. We were fair, and out of all those guests,
only one who was pinned was theunanimous eight out of thirty one. Though,

(39:00):
I mean, I kind of lovehow we were, like, thanks
for being on. But no.But of the of the remaining episodes,
minus the ones where we weren't postingwith our husbands, I didn't count those
we had. Boy. I thinkbecause in our first one hundred, Diana

(39:21):
one Diana, she had the mostwins. I don't remember how many it
was, but I remember that shedid win. It was like thirty nine
or ninety eight to two. Youguys eased to know one. There you
go, there you go. Somy guess would if I if I'm gonna
guess, I'm I'm going to guessthat Diana held onto that win, Diana,
would you have guessed yourself as well? I was gonna guess myself,

(39:44):
Yes, you would be right, narcissist. So Diana won a total of
seventy one point six five episodes becausewe had some ties and some of them
were four way ties, some ofthem are three away ties. And then
second was Debra with fifty eight pointsix five and I came in third with

(40:05):
thirty four point six five. Wow. So the twins were pretty close to
each other. But Diana, Andas far as unanimous wins, how about
that you had the minimus, Jessehas the most unanimous Yeah, I was
closer to the two of you,but it wasn't It wasn't me, it
was Diana. Again, you hadthirty eight unanimous wins. Oh my Debra

(40:27):
had thirty five wow, and Ihad twenty one. Wow. I really
would I thought Jesse had that onedown. Me too, me too,
well. I think when I didwin, I tended to have unanimous wins.
So technically, of all of mywins, I had the biggest percentage
that were unanimous. I was atsixty percent of mine that did win one

(40:47):
big yeah, But um, Iwas still smaller overall. Yeah. Wow,
that's that's impressive though. That's prettycrazy. And as far as um
ties, we had a total numberof eight ties throughout the whole season,
so it wasn't that often. Andwhen a tie happened, that would have
to be a three way tie wherewe all voted a draw either for different

(41:08):
ones, yeah, like a draw, or it would be like a two
and two for a guest episode, right, And then total number of turkeys
that would be three episodes in arow where we all had unanimous votes was
fourteen. Fourteen turkeys. That's prettygreat. That's really more than I think
this was based on, of course, bowling terms. So the next one

(41:29):
up was four consecutive episodes in arow with unanimous votes, not a four
banger. Oh, that's right,a four backer. I still had four
banger up here from when we firstcalled it that. I mean, it's
our podcastn't be going whatever we want. How many bangs did you get?

(41:50):
Do you want to guess the turkeyswere? How many? Fourteen? I'm
gonna say seven. Who I wasgonna guess like maybe five? Diana's right,
seven, lucky number seven. Thenthere is the Yachtzis, which is
the five in a row unanimous votesfour three, six, we had six.
That's incredible. So we played thatLeandre clip six times. That was

(42:16):
so key. You want to hearit again one last time? Sure?
Yeah? And then six ers wehad some six ers say two, I
would just say two as well, you would be correct two episodes and that

(42:37):
has luck When he was six ers, that's sick. Although if I'm being
honest, you guys, I thinkmy favorite is the four backer. Can't
we hear that one? Sure?Four beggar four four beggar sounds so dumb.

(43:10):
God's AI at its finest. Wenever got that ham and turkey sandwich
or whatever it's called, turkey dinner, Ham and turkey seven in a row.
I blame Debrah was the fact that, you know, we're anti pork,

(43:30):
We're an anti pork pod. Weweren't meant to have anything with ham,
so that's got to be what itwas. But um, just so
you know, over the course ofall the different seasons, Diana won all
of them except the first season whereDiana and Debora tied. Oh, the
amount of these were pretty consistent.Yeah, results across the board. It's

(43:51):
pretty good Diana for the win,you guys. Do you know what who
I'd like to give a big thankyou too? The readers digest so true.
Jesse and I weren't allowed to touchit. You were like, no,
Jesse the RD, Yeah, Idid a couple. Never I never
said DIBs off of it. Yeah, did your readers digest win? I'm

(44:15):
very curious. Oh, well,I don't have those. I'm just well
you guys, I brought the rD out a lot, so I think
you did. I owe a bigthanks to them. Well, we also
owe a really big thanks to thelisteners. Three and a half years.
Man, that is a long andDavid moy don't forget David Moye. You
know, he was more seasons oneand two, I feel like, and

(44:35):
then we dropped off. Yeah, yeah, he had this little sound effect.
Was he with Huffington Post? Ican't remember where he was with,
but you know, we stopped pullingfrom from that as much. So it
was a little bit more mainstream thanwe wanted to. I wanted to stick
to. But what a run. What a run? I think the average

(44:57):
podcast does not last. It's probablydifferent now, but when we started,
it was like seven episodes and onehundred and eighty in. This will be
our one hundred and eighty first andfinal and I'm super proud of it.
I'm really proud of it, andI want to just thank you both for
being incredible hosts and for going onthe journey with me. It was a
journey, yeah, it was.It was quite a ride. Yeah.

(45:22):
We started off so not knowing whatwe were doing, and we learned a
lot about audio and story structure andourselves, show structure and ourselves. We
shared a lot about ourselves. Ohmy god, those firesides. Dang.
But this was Diana's brain child.I think with the three of us were
sitting once she was like, Ithink we should do a podcast and we

(45:45):
guys were like nah, and Iwas like, just listen. And this
was before the pandemic, guys, this was like before it was even a
twinkle may in the eyes of somepanglin somewhere. Yeah, it was May
of twenty nineteen. Yep. Yeah, it's crazy. So I am glad
we've done we did it. Iam sad to see it go. It
gives a sense of relief because itwas it was like we said at the

(46:07):
beginning of the show, it wasso much time and I have enjoyed this
time off from editing even recording this. I'm like, when do I get
to when can I addit this?So it's it's unfortunate that we don't have
you know that we have to sleep, basically, is what I to say.
Otherwise we could keep going, butthere's only so many hours in the

(46:29):
day. And after three and ahalf years, we were like, we've
we either need to quit our jobsor we need to quit the podcast.
And unfortunately I got to pay morebills with the current job I have,
So yeah, we had we hadto let this little brain child go.
But it's been a great time.Yes. Is there anything you've had a
chance to enjoy since we haven't beendoing the podcast? Time Time Joy Time.

(46:52):
We guys went to spring training right? Oh? Yeah, we did.
I mean we did that every year. That was the thing. I
think one of the things we've reallyenjoyed is time off, like where you
go somewhere and visit, whether it'sfamily or a vacation or spring training,
and not having to worry about stockpilingepisodes so that we were still ahead.
So that's been enjoyable because sometimes therewas a lot of stress. There's already

(47:14):
stressed before you hit a vacation, let alone having to edit before a vacation.
Yeah. Did you get to meetany special Cups players or did you
go to Royals training too? Yeah? Cups and Royals. We got to
meet Eric Cosmar. That was mynumber one because he was a huge Royal
and then he copy that dude wasawesome. He was so nice. He
signed things for us, yack.We were like signs, did everything and

(47:37):
we got pictures, got pictures withhim. Nico Horner was there, we
met, I mean there were justso many. Yeah, Chucker Barnhart,
who has the best signature in baseball. I will stay to Barnhart. Yeah,
what about you, Jesse. Yeah, so last night for a Nathan's
birthday, which is passed, butwe kind of planned this because it wasn't

(47:59):
available at the time. The dinnerDetective Murder Mystery Company. Oh yeah,
it sounds like everything I want todo. Absolutely it was. It was
a blast, and it's like agame. I don't know if for those
who who've been, they have differentlocations. We went to the one in
Des Moines, but you show up, there's a murder that happens during dinner,
and you get clues throughout the dinner. There's also some interactive theater stuff

(48:20):
going on that it has to dowith what's going on in the investigation,
and by the end you have tosolve the crime and submit your your sheet
and you have to talk people aroundthe room to actually I fucking won.
Oh my god, you're like rodeohere, Diana, And do you have
Halloween parties? Well, that's funny. It was my first time there and

(48:42):
m Nathan I actually paid a lectureto make him a prime suspect. You
can it basically like means that theyget interacted with more during the show totally.
And so while he was busy withthat, I was like filling out
like the little forum, like doingall the clues and getting it done and
talking to people and was he themurderer? It was? He was not,
But Nathan, I've kind of workedtogether figure out who it was,

(49:02):
and I my sheet was the mostcomplete answer. So I want a gift
certificate and some squag for the dinner. Detective. Oh, that's great.
I'm really proud of you, andI'd like to think that I helped contribute
to your knowledge of solving a crime. I think so with all the crimes
that I brought to the show, those episodes of true crime that I would
never have listened to because I'm notby nature a true crime well at least

(49:27):
not to the level that Diana is. That was on a whole other level
of a fan of that stuff. But yeah, it was interesting stuff and
she often won episodes because of thoseWith those stories, I've been listening to
a lot of true crime podcasts rightnow. It's excessive. Um, some
might use that word, but it'sreally great. It's keeping me. You
can listen more now too, right, Yeah, and I do gravitate towards

(49:51):
that. Have you guys seen youthe show? You absolutely I were caught
up. Yeah. Well during thedinner detective you have to pick us like
a fake name, and so Iwas each Salinger from the first seasons.
She was like, the bitch waslike onto him. Yeah, you know
what I mean. I was like, I want to be the one that's
onto him. Yeah, that's agood calm. Yeah. Turned on another
lady there was um love Quinn.Yeah. I was like, I see

(50:15):
you like we get each other. That's great, that's great. Well,
that's that's awesome. Um. Yeah, we've all been up to our own
stuff and watching a bunch of stuff, listening to a bunch of stuff,
and living our lives out here.So yeah, it's been a ride,
but that ride has come to aclose. Thank you to the listeners for
being on on the roller coaster withus. We couldn't appreciate you more.

(50:37):
And you know, I feel likewe started this out for us, and
um, we kept going because ofall of you. Yeah, and for
sure, we we owed it tothe pod. I love this. I
will always look at this podcast assomething to be proud of. Who knows,
you know, maybe when life isn'tso crazy, we can pick it
up again and we'll have more strollsto share. We could rekindle that shit,

(50:59):
you know, one day into it, one day it's a respark my
interest. Oh my god, Ilove it. Ideas you guys, they're
they're flowing here or I'll reach out. We're taking time off, we're flowing.
So if you are out there, you know, keep coming. Man.
We love hearing from you. Still, we will still write to you.
I think I am. I thinkI Debrah am the person who is

(51:21):
really writing people's I actually resting today. I'm like, oh shit, I'm
not going in there all the timelike I used to. So if I
hadn't respond to you, hadn't respondedto you in a couple of months,
it's literally just because I haven't beenlooking at it. So yeah, love
it. You know, it's goodbyefor now, but who knows, who
knows? We're keeping that door open. Never close that door, right,

(51:42):
Yeah, but we're going to keepthe the episodes alive, and you know,
our social media will still be upthere. I don't know how often
we'll post. I mean, ifwe're being realistic, it's probably not going
to be often, but um everynow and then. Who knows. So
thank you guys again for listening, especially those who have been listening all these
years, and going forward, wehope you continue to stay curious, get
out there, get reading those articlesand get its sparked. Boom bottom.
